Breathe Romance

The first fragrance I ever fell in love with. I must have been around 13 or 14 when my aunt and I went to the mall and I smelled a ton of random body sprays in Bath & Body Works for fun. None of them captivated me quite like this. I had to have it. In hindsight it’s surprising that I gravitated towards such a mature fragrance at that age, but I’m not complaining! Breathe Romance became my signature scent for years. When it was first discontinued, I used to pay exorbitant amounts of money for bottles on eBay in order to keep the love affair going. This scent will always hold a special place in my heart. The amber, myrrh, and woody notes in this perfume set me up to instantly love anything that evokes the same resinous sensuality for the rest of my life. I’m in my 30’s now and wholeheartedly believe that I have Breathe Romance to thank for my interest in fragrance.

There is just nothing quite like this. It is so beautiful. It is soft yet noticeable, even after having it on for a few hours I still catch whiffs of it and melt. On my skin it’s a lovely powdery smell, with hints of myrrh, amber, musk and honey. I’m baffled by the branding because I definitely wouldn’t call it “sexy”; that word feels almost vulgar when used in reference to it... this scent is far too good for that description. It’s distinguished; mature and delicate all at once. There’s something ancient and expensive about this smell. I can imagine Queen Esther wearing it. Or an Egyptian Princess. For me it’s romantic in a intellectual way; not a sexual way. It brings to mind the Queens of exotic lost civilizations. This must be what they smelled like. Edit: my toddler says it "smells like cuddles" 🥰

First scent that didn't turn sour with my body chemistry. I was heartbroken when thy discontinued it, I still all. I have a little lotion and body wash left. Is there not a way a company would bring a scene back so we could afford it and not get gouged online? I felt so sexy and confident wearing it. Please BBW, bring it back! I tried to buy it from that website that recreates scents, it wasn't even close to any notes and I was out the $ I dint knew how they advertise they make it, but don't know how. I knew there are other junkies like me out there, missing that beautiful scent.

I can’t stop thinking of this scent, though I wore it like 15+ years ago. I came here to say “Vetiver” by Malin + Goetz is of the same universe! I believe with the right kind of layering we could recreate breathe romance with this one. (Warning: longevity sucks, but we just need this scent back amiright?) @KarKar74 so glad it might be working for you! My Absolute favorite Ever from BBW, and I've been heartbroken ever since they discontinued it. The most sensual, Stunning, and comforting scent ever :) I have very strong memories attached to this scent and it will Forever be my most favorite of all time. I've tried looking for a dupe, I might see if the scent revival site can make it. I miss it sooooo much.

This was my go-to in the early aughts, and I’ve been searching for a good dupe for ages. Sunkissed Hibiscus from Nest is soooo close! It’s sultry and ambery and delicious. I wish they’d bring this whole line back, such a miss when they discontinued it.

I still have the body cream and this mist!! Like others have said, I ration the heck out of them because I don’t want to run out!! I wish BBW would bring back this collection!! It’s such a sexy and radiant scent!!

My number one! All time favorite scent in the whole world!!!! I still have some lotion and a small amount of spray. I will never understand why they got rid of this intoxicating scent!

@stranz1984 and @sissysuzanne I had it made at that website asks it wasn't even close. Not a right note in the bunch. Hopefully you didn't learn from the same mistake I made.

This is the most beautiful, rich, warm fragrance to my nose. Sexy, cozy, and intoxicating. I have been searching for another scent like this ever since it was discontinued.

This juice is indeed very special. It is a sultry, sexy, sweet concoction. Hard not to love! But I wouldn't pay the current exorbitant price for a bottle.

Wish they didn’t discontinue this great scent. It’s subtle and sexy. Warm and cuddly. I would definitely buy if it was available.

Dua Her Instant magic and BBW Sensual Amber layered are an exact dupe for breathe romance to my nose 🌜

I paid around $70 for an almost-full bottle of the mist on eBay, and it is worth every penny.

Love it!!! Wear it to bed. Works in all seasons. Love it!!!!

Was a wonderful chocolately myrrh musk scent, too bad it is out of production but it has been years since BBW put out anything I liked.

My first time posting anything here, just happy to see others who love this fragrance as much as I do! I have half a bottle left that I only use 2-3 times a year because I'm hoarding what's left. Easily my favorite scent ever. It smells luxurious, sensuous, intoxicating. Seems silly to say but I almost feel like it's out of my league, like I'm not alluring enough to wear it! One day I hope they bring it back!

@jdb_ I got a sample of Vetiver (although I was skeptical based on the notes) and have to agree! I layered it with BBW Golden Ocean Pearl and the combo is pretty close. Going to try with Sensual Amber next. Thanks for the tip!
