Brown Sugar & Fig

It's been reformulated at least once or twice over the years and I was lucky enough to find a bottle of the vintage EDT in the 1.7 oz bottle, for a price I was willing to pay. It is surprisingly complex, and its creaminess is Nicely enhanced by the coconut. It has noticeable green, leafy nuances, too, in addition to the fig note itself and a vague, warm sweet note (the brown sugar or caramel―there's definitely sweetness, but the exact nature of the sweetness is hard for me to pin down. It was kind of gamble when I found my bottle on ebay. I hadn't smelled it in years, and the last time I did, was a nasty reformulated Triple Moisture Body Cream with garish red, blue, purple, and gold designs on its opaque packaging. I was hoping when my bottle arrived, that it would be the same as my first introduction to the fragrance, in the translucent tube of Triple Moisture Body Cream. It is! What a relief! This scent is highly nostalgic for me. My mom passed away last week, and when ebay notified me of the new item in my search, I got it so I could remember my mom's and my tradition of Bath and Body Works hauls dating back to my late teens, around 2005. It is just exactly as I remembered it, and it really transports me back about 15 years. I'm so glad to have this in my collection. If you can find it on ebay, it's a worthy acquisition. I paid about $30.00 including shipping for mine, and I think it's worth every cent.

I smell a delicious, milky brown sugar. Sweet, warm spicy, a little heavy, like a blanket in the cold. Probably best worn in the fall and winter, but I honestly think you could wear it in any season, any time of day. I think it would be comforting to wear at night, I just love the coconut milk note. Lactonic notes are addicting and comforting to me, probably because I’ve been a milkaholic most of my life. I don’t really smell any of the fruits besides fig, maybe the white flowers in the top and middle notes. I’m sure some of what I’m smelling is a mix of the caramel/vanilla/amber/musk, but I swear it’s mostly just a milky rich brown sugar (oatmeal?) indulgence. It’s funny, when I first smelled it, I thought it smelled like a teacher. Maybe an elementary school teacher? I wonder if any of mine in the past had worn it. I wouldn’t be surprised as it was a popular scent when I was younger. But as I’ve been training my nose, it picks up more of the notes!

I only had this scent in the triple moisture cream from the year 2013 or 2014. So I can't review the EDT but I loved this scent so much I still wanted to give my thoughts! This one is so warm, comforting. Brown sugar, fig, maple and coconut are the main notes I remember. It combines so many of my favorite notes! It was such a special scent that I've thought about it often over the years lol. I remember trying the body cream for the first time and being so surprised at how warm and comforted the scent made me feel! (I had never felt comforted by a scent before.) I'd love to try the FFM or EDT in this scent! It's a perfect fragrance for fall and winter. It's also one of those scents that would likely be appealing to many ages. (I was around 21 when I had the body cream and I can see myself wearing it now at 29 and as I get older.) This scent would work for daytime/nighttime and bedtime. Very versatile.

For lovers of Ralph Hot, I think this is as close as we're ever gonna get. However! For a body spray, staying power and sillage are as good as that of an EDT on my skin (I do lean towards the oily side, but if your skin is drier the lotions are pretty easy to get your hands on for layering). I don't know if I'd consider it a floral "fruity" gourmand, as I don't get many fruits from it except coconut and fig, but it is indeed a gourmand. There's some spice that gives it depth and sexiness. Much like Ralph Hot it settles close to the skin. If you're unfamiliar with Ralph Hot, the best way I could sum this up is slightly spicy, warm and creamy. It's got an almost edible quality, but not sugar-sweet, nor tart or citrusy. Even the coconut is mild and milky. It's a standalone scent in my opinion and beats any other mainstream, popular scent by a long shot. Very well balanced, even somewhat exotic.

This is one of my favorite scents, and I really wish it was still available in the EDT. The fine fragrance mist is still available online, so that will have to suffice. This is really an intoxicating, dreamy, sexy scent. It's very grown up, especially for Bath and Body Works, but without being harsh or very floral. A unique kind of gourmand that isn't cloying or leaving you straight-up smelling like a cookie. I pick up the passion fruit right away, along with sweet fig, caramel, and vanilla. There is an ever-present coconut and dry green note in the background that gives this a very nice, fresh, earthy quality. I don't detect much floral, but I can tell it's there, balancing the foody scents. This is crisp, yet warm, and fresh, yet deep and rich. Beautiful scent that I think a lot of people could enjoy. I like wearing this in the fall and winter, but think it would work in any season.

The first time I bought it along with a bunch of other mists from SAS my nose gravitated more towards the freshies. So it was forgotten in my cabinet along with my numerous haul. 3 days ago I was getting bored of fresh floral scents. I decided to revisit my stash. I saw this and sprayed just to remember how it smells like. Lo and behold i'm in love. This was truly the perfect time for me to appreciate its beauty. I cannot stop sniffing my arms. It has this sweet but cozy effect on me. It is the warm kind of sweet that is not cloying. It smells creamy even a bit milky. I don't know how fig smells like but that must add a delicious vibe to this. This is a perfect blend of yumminess. I think even non gourmand lovers will appreciate this. I am so happy I rediscovered this beauty again.

I am in love with this one and it surprised me. I didn't think I would love this as much as I do. It’s a floral fruity warm scent. I think the reason I adore this so much is because the fig in this is so strong. It’s just so warm and I love warm scents. Top notes are passionfruit, fig, white florals, peaches, and bergamot. The fig is so prominent in here and lingers all day. The middle of this is vanilla orchids, jasmine, freesia, lily-of-the-valley, and coconut. I smell all of these beautiful scents and the orchid really stays with me. Base notes are vanilla, amber, musk, caramel, fig leaf, and maple. After it sits on my skin for a few hours it becomes this gorgeous maple/fig/caramel/vanilla concoction with musk in the background and fig as the main scent. It’s just so nice.

I received the lotion and body wash several years ago as a gift. I Was a little off put at first and I remember thinking that I would never use it. Finally I started with the lotion and I was stunned by the richness of the scent and how long that the scent lasted. I fell in love with Brown Sugar and Fig soon after. I used it sparingly and after a trip to Bath and Body I bought two bottles each of the lotion and body wash. They didn't have any of the body mist at that time. Again I used it sparingly until I was frantic that the scent would be discontinued and bought two of everything. This is a piece of heaven. This is rich, sweet and the fig is luxurious. Well worth trying.

This is the best coconut scent I've ever had because the coconut smells milky and sugary, not overly loud and screechy. For example La Vie est Belle Cristal Soleil and Body Fantasies Coconut are what I would consider screechy coconut. Overly synthetic and borderline sour coconut. Brown Sugar and Fig has more emphasis on the brown sugar and less on the coconut, which makes it absolutely perfect because it smells soft and milky. It lasts a long time for me as well and has good sillage. It makes me feel like I smell both fresh and tropical, mixed with gourmand and sweet. I love it so much.

Brown Sugar and Fig is such a lovely fragrance, and i'm glad Bath and Body works brought it back. The beautiful blend of brown sugar, vanilla, coconut, and fig really make it super delectable and fun to wear. It starts out pretty green, which I think the fig leaf and maple attributes to. This scent never gets to be super thick and syrupy, more like a roasty toasty sugar/fig/coconut vibe. This fragrance is sweet, but is not cloyingly so. I highly recommend this fragrance to the person who loves to smell cuddely, sweet, and alluring.

As someone who isn't into gourmands, this is an exception. I prefer this scent in the shower gel though. When I use this soap in the shower, the scent fills up the bathroom and lingers for about half an hour after I'm done. It is such an addicting scent. It is very sweet and heavy but not cloying at all. It is a very comforting scent, especially on cold nights. I am very lucky to have a Bath and Body Works Outlet that has retired scents in stock near me. This shower gel is definitely a winter staple for me!

This is a favorite; it's such a beautiful fragrance. I alternate between this and Sensual Amber in the fall and winter months, and I tend to pick this when I want something a bit cleaner and lighter along with being sexy and warm. It's exotic and unique, but still fresh and could definitely be worn in the spring and summer if you wanted, though as I said, I prefer this in the fall and winter. I get a lot of earthy fig and coconut, along with a very soft vanilla and bright caramel. Just so pretty!

Brown Sugar and Fig is a gorgeous scent with a great combination of brown sugar, vanilla, coconut, and fig that makes it incredibly tasty and pleasant to wear. It starts off fairly green, which I credit to the fig leaf and maple. This aroma is pleasant yet not overpowering. I definitely suggest this scent to anyone who like smelling soft, sweet, and appealing. This is rich, sweet and the fig is luxurious. Definitely worth a shot. Stunning!

This fragrance is a beautiful scent. I get everything except the passionfruit and jasmine. The fig, vanilla orchid & coconut do it for me I wouldn't say that its warm but it's incredibly cozy...it feels like home...like how I was born to smell. And for those reasons, I feel a little better when I wear it. If I had to corner it into a season, I'd say fall. But I wear it when I'm good & ready. I don't do rules.

Bath & Body Works now has several of their "classic fragrances" on sale online (and at some stores). If you love this one as much as I do... time to stock up! It's more wearable in the cooler months because of it's heavy maple and vanilla base, but if you use it sparingly in hot weather it DOES attract a lot of male reaction! I always get complimented by men when I wear this warm fragrance! :)

this scent is amazing. i got the body lotion years ago at christmas from my boyfriend's stepmom and it was love at first sniff! thank goodness they still have the mist online! i have so many perfumes that i rarely buy backups of, but i absolutely had to of this one. it smells even more amazing that it sounds. so worth a blind buy if the name intrigues you. ;)

my perfect baby. i don’t have words for how good it is, especially if i’m particularly craving it. it’s a super creamy, slightly sweet fig that’s still green. the coconut & caramel/brown sugar complement the fig note PERFECTLY. i know they recently brought it back for SAS, but we need a permanent EDP!! ✨

wow.. so yummy!! it's sweet creamy & warm. it's my first fig scent (have no idea how fig smell heheee) i could smell the vanilla, caramel, coconut and amber i only got the body splash and already received compliments how nice it smells

I love love love this fragrance! This has to be my absolute favorite from bath and body works! I typically don't like sweet scents, but the I love brown sugar and fig. I wear this scent throughout the year but more in the fall.

Brown Sugared Fig, Vanilla and Mapple ... Hummmm... Yummy!!! Perfect scent for cold days but it is also comfortable in sunny and a little hot days... Good staying power: 7 - 8 Hours. My favorite Bath and Body Works Scent!!!!

THis perfume smells so delicious. It almost smells like something you can eat I have the body spray as well as the perfume. I think I like the body spray better though there is something a little different about the spray

Oh God, I just got my edt and it is SOOOO different from the scent of the body lotion! Seriously, they are completely different. I love both of them, though. Is it just me or did anybody else notice this discrepancy?

mouth watering, sweet and a spunky fruit spark to it...I love it cuz it is very "girly" and lasts all day. the caramel sugary notes are a winner for me, and the fig is a lot like spring time.

its smells so very pleasantly weird. it might turn you off at first but as it develops on you, or for me anyways, it gets very nice to the point where it's almost edible.

My mother used to make a rum enfused pound cake.... if I took that cake, topped it with caramelized brown sugar and dried figs, it would smell like this. YUMMY!

The best dupe for Ralph Hot that is discontinued.. both very loved.. and then this also got discontinued.. go figure🤷🏼♀️

Not a bath and body works fan, but love this scent!

I asked the saleslady which among their fragrances have a fresh and clean scent suitable for day wear, then she introduced BBW Brown Sugar and Fig. At first sniff from the bottle, I found it quite disgusting. Another customer also reacted the same and commented that it smells like a "dust transformed into a body spray". I just smiled and asked the saleslady to put a single spritz on my arm, then I continue roaming around the store having a hope on this one. Several perfumes reacted differently with my body chemistry... so basically I don't judge them alone on the initial spray or a sniff from the bottle. After about 5 mins,.. i detected a sweet, woody, yet clean scent on my arm and can't believe that this is it!! ..Smells SO GORGEOUS!! It also has a good longevity because that single spritz lasted for abt 3-4 hrs on my skin, not bad for a body mist. Can't wait to get the lotion version to layer with and improve the lasting power. This is one of my favorites from BBW!

The fig note here is lovely smooth creamy with hints of green and earthy undertones but unfortunately lasts for a very short period on my skin. It however lasts a bit longer on my clothes and hair. I’m then left with a creamy sweet coconut pudding sprinkled with carmelized brown sugar on top. Delicious and comforting with just the right amount of sweetness. The old EDT was more complex than the current mist due to the green nuance from the fig leaf. From memory it lasted longer though it was never a beast in that area. I usually prefer this scent profile in autumn but since it’s very light it can be used in summer. I also used to spray it on my clothes with perfumes featuring coconut (Crystal Noir, Terracotta, etc). It works well with fig perfumes as with coconut ones but the only ones I have with fig are Womanity and one from The Body Shop.

It's very warm and cozy, delicious and sweet, but not cloying. It's different than many are currently. I think lately things have gotten more homogenized, but the oldies are distinct. This is just thick with brown sugar, maple syrup and vanilla. There is some coconut too, I smell it quite obvious through the other notes. Not much is here to cut it beside a little white floral and lime in the opening. Although it has so many sweet things, it doesn't come off as sexual (or even sensual) in my opinion, it's just comforting. With all combined it might seem as if it would be overload, but I find that it's perfect. It's creamy and rich, but somehow not heavy. It's a unique winter scent. BBW doesn't project how I wish their sprays would, but I spray them point-blank into my shirts or bra and it helps.

Warm, sweet, and intriguing with a hint of subtle spice.. This is definitely one of B&BW's best scents! I bought this based on the comparisons to Ralph Lauren's Hot, which was one of my favorite scents that has now been discontinued. This is actually quite similar, just not as rich, warm and spicy; I find it to be a bit more toned down than Hot. The fig, caramel and vanilla really stand out in this. My only gripe is that I own the body mist and as expected, it doesn't have the greatest lasting power; after less than 2 hours it's completely gone without a trace. Because of this, I tend to only spray it on when I'm running quick errands. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my hands on the EDT soon! This makes a fantastic fall scent!

This was my first perfume. My best friend was a Moonlit Path kinda gal, and I was a Brown Sugar & Fig. I always received compliments on this when I wore it, and it performed beautifully in the Florida humidity. At the time it reminded me of cream, honey, and overripe figs. I still have about 1/8 of the EDT. I recently sprayed it for the first time in about 7 years. I live in a different climate now (the dry heat of inner California) but I'm catching some of the same notes I loved. Now it smells less woody and sweet; I get watery food notes like cucumber and watermelon. I will continue to use this when I want to remember those youthful college days when BBW was all I could afford.

At one point, I was on an insane kick with this fragrance. I could not get enough of it. I used the shower gel, the lotion, and the body spray. EVERY DAY! And then I just kind of fell off of it and didn't wear it for about TWO YEARS. When I came back to it, it evoked wonderful memories, but something about it had changed to my nose. At the time it came out, B&BW was using a specific base--it was in Jap. Cherry Blossom and Exotic Coconut, too, to name a few--and for the first time, it bothered me. It's a prickly sort of essence that makes my throat feel scratchy and tight. Alas...I have my memories...

A lot less complex than I thought it'd be. It smells exactly like the name: a sweetened fig (artificial mind you, but to me artificial doesn't equal bad by any means). Nothing more, nothing less. I don't get any of the other notes at all. I bought this because I thought I tried it many years ago and loved it but I guess I didn't because it doesn't smell familiar. It's a nice subtle and sweet scent, but nothing special IMO. I may update later to comment on the longevity.

I like how this scent changes after hours. My expectation was a bit more fig, but I mainly get vanilla and coconut milk from this scent. It is not heavy sweet, just comforting. Then it changes into a light musky scent which reminds me of Burberry Brit, and that's what I really like here. I would recommend it for fall or winter. Brown Sugar & Fig is not overpowering, but it lasts a few hours. This scent might be discontinued by now, though.

This is the perfect cozy scent for summer nights or for autumn and winter days. It lasts longer when sprayed on clothes, and honestly it does last a little longer than some of my perfumes (looking at you, Aerin Honeysuckle). A must for fig fans, and the brown sugar aspect just makes it kind of sexy and comforting rather than super sweet and nauseatingly synthetic. It smells a lot nicer and more mature than your typical B&BW splash.

I have this and it is OK but no big deal. What I have that I love, from BBW is Lush Fig Nectar, which has been discontinued. Apparently BBW has a bad habit of discontinuing really wonderful fragrances and keeping the ho-hum varieties. If you like fig and have a chance to get Lush Fig Nectar, I can say that the description is right on- it is lush and delicious.

Too sweet for me; very heavy-handed. It starts out with an almost sweet-and-sour smell (tangy!) which must be the fig. This wears down to the sweet fig, with muskiness, and I get caramel. There is something plastic or synthetic about it I can't place that is a turn-off. Warm & creamy, yes; if you're a "foodie" you might like it. Just overpowering for my nose.

This really isn't very sweet or gourmand. It should be called ambergris and fig. It goes on very dry and salty. Mainly fig leaf and ambergris. As it warms on your skin, it gets a little sweeter but not like brown sugar in any way. There is some light freesia and orchid in the background. I really like this one. Not mainstream at all.

I absolutely adore this fragrance. The brown sugar is warm and inviting. The fig adds a fruity note that is just the epitome of fall. Brown Sugar and Fig smells like the ideal Halloween night strolling through crisp, freshly fallen leaves, and spending the night trick or treating with your kid.

I love this scent in the lotion and body wash form. It's my go-to for trips because it's masculine enough to share with my boyfriend without hearing complaints of smelling too "girly". Also great on camping trips since it smells earthy and sweet without attracting unwanted insect attention!

This is a very nice fig and caramel, however I find it to be a little light. I want it to pop but it does not on me, even with the lotion combo. However, layering this with Opus Oils "Mother", really brings out ripe juice fig, dark chocolate with light hints of caramel.

I can understand why it is so popular,it is very pleasant and yes it smells what it says..Basicly fig and brown sugar.Warm and not too sweet actually,i am not a big fan of gourmands but this isnt your typical gourmand.I like it a lot but of corse not to longlasting..

Wore my share of this over the years in the form of body cream and body wash before I ever knew what a gourmand fragrance was. What's not to like? It's cozy, warm, creamy, and has balanced sweetness.

This smells delicious! It smells like sweet and yummy figs with a hint of vanilla and after a while, you start to smell some musk and caramel. It smells fruity, sweet, and delicious!

I feel very comfy wearing this as a bedtime scent. Sweet fig and coconut milk with some sugar and musk. It’s never nauseating as some perfumes can feel. Loved it
