Calypso Clementine

I love these inexpensive body mists from B&BW. I use the body washes and body lotions under my finer fragrances, and the body mists over them. I use the Clementine with my Like This by Etat Libre d’Orange. I used it today with Coco Mademoiselle, and it was beautiful. It also weirdly works with Guerlain’s Mitsouko, although B&BW’s Peach Bellini is the absolute GOAT with Mitsouko. I only recently discovered how nice B&BW’s scented products are. I was bored waiting for a movie at the mall one night, and just kinda wandered into B&BW to kill some time. I don’t know, I guess I always assumed it was a store for people who would never spend any real money on fragrances, or people looking for affordable gifts for Mother’s Day, etc.. I started smelling samples, and my mind immediately went to how nicely many things would layer with perfumes I already have, and allow me to customize and experiment.

I both have the mist and the EDP version. The EDP version lasts much longer compared to the mist version. When I tried the EDP, thou, it only lasted about 2–3 hours, which is fine for me since I got it on sale lol. Just like my review of the mist version, it doesn't smell synthetic, and it literally smells like an orange peel. But the EDP is much more intense because the mist smells kind of a watered-down version. But still, I'm enjoying it and would love to complete the whole collection of Calypso Clementine.

This is my favorite scent out of the new BBW body care scents released in January 2024. How does it smell? It has a familiar profile: breezy, bright, fresh, lightly sweet, citrus profile. It reminds me of some more expensive scents from department stores. It has a classy quality - nothing too sweet or too fruity. I wouldn't mind wearing it to the office. It would be perfect for summer or spring. Men could even pull it off. Well done. I am planning to get a travel spray and a body wash.

Do you like Phlur’s Tangerine Boy? You will like this one too. I got it with a $20 off coupon recently, and I’m glad I did. It’s not a “perfect spot-on dupe” for TB, but if you’re a guy, gal or non-binary pal on a budget and you enjoy this “fragrance DNA”, you’ll enjoy it. You get the double dose of citrus with the driftwood. Refreshing without smelling like a fruit salad.

Compared to some of Bath and Body Works' other orange-dominant fragrances such as Mango Mandarin, Sparkling Orange Spritz-- Calypso Clementine I would say is an improvement in that it smells more high-end with some depth. It opens as your typical bright, punchy, clementine note reminiscent of those Cuties little oranges from the supermarket. But then dries down to a nice clean woodsy with a little bit of floral from the neroli blossom. Some would say Calypso Clementine leans more masculine. To me it is a unisex frag that would go great with layering some feminine perfumes. I haven't worn this yet (still winter and very cold here where I live) so I can't completely attest to its performance, but on my tester strip Calypso Clementine lasted all day. Now, I have seen some people compare Calypso Clementine to Bath and Body Works Orange Sapphire, even claiming it is a repackage, and I have to respectfully disagree. I now own both and Orange Sapphire smells wayyy better in my opinion. Instead of a punchy tart orange it offers a smoother, sexier blood orange that is well-blended with other citrus fruits, florals and other notes, and there is a hint of warmth (patchouli), maybe a hint of syrupy sweetness like honey, but yeah there is no woodiness/cologne vibes detected to me. Orange Sapphire is just better and I wish they would bring it back instead. But if you are deeply missing Orange Sapphire, Calypso Clementine can be a *reasonable* alternative.

Very close dupe to Tangerine Boy. It's less intense than Tangerine Boy, and doesn't have the juicy fresh explosion of citrus at first spray, or the spicy, zingy dry down, but all in all it has a very similar makeup. Especially when considering how short lasting Tangerine Boy's top notes are, I would say it's about 80-90% similar by the 30 min mark after spraying.

I love the perfume, body spray & lotion but the moisturizing body wash leans a little to masculine for me. It reminds me of Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Aqua Forte/citrus line & Atelier's Clémentine Cologne. I will continue to use all products except the moisturizing body wash.

Pisses me off that I paid $100 for Acqua di Parma's Arancia di Capri only for me to smell this B&BW perfume and realize that it's an almost perfect dupe for AdP. Seriously.

A beautiful woody citrus scent. It’s very clean and perfect for spring and summer! It’s nothing extraordinary or revolutionary, but very pleasant and very crowd pleasing.

Smells just like a juicy orange. Bright, summery, not too complex but a nice citrus scent. I have this scent in candles and Wallflowers as well.

Great BBW fragrance. Very unisex. Love a good strong bright citrus woody note that don't lean all the way masc.

A dupe for my beloved Tangerine Boy! <3 Super pretty!😍

Okay so this scent is weird to me. It opens with a sweet clementine scent, a bit of a marine smell, and then it just becomes overwhelmingly woodsy. I would classify this as a very unisex scent because when it dries down and settles in, it smells like generic men's cologne to me. The hand soap, fragrance mist, body wash, and lotion all have the same smell progression. It's really good when paired with YSL Black Opium Illicit Green because the vanilla helps to make me smell less manly. It also pairs well with cheaper gourmands too, like Sabrina Carpenter Caramel Dreams and Juicy Couture VLJ Noir. I would recommend this one for layering, unless you're a fan of the more cologne-y, woodsy scents. It's not for me on its own, but I get the appeal. As far as performance goes, it shocked me for sure. Even just using the hand wash is a little too powerful at times. The sillage is enormous, and it lasts and lasts and lasts. Definitely blew me away with the longevity.

It is delicious. For a perfume bottle from BBW though, I wouldn't pay full price. A travel spray would be fine for someone who adores citrous fruity fragrances but it is very simple and straightforward. I wish BBW would take a few more risks with their perfume launches.

I love Calypso Clementine! I bought two during the one-day sale on B&BW perfumes and colognes. Yes, I did! I have both Tangerine Boy and Calypso Clementine. They are not duplicates; they are close cousins. As mentioned earlier, Calypso Clementine smells like a “peeled orange,” while Tangerine Boy smells like a fresh tangerine. They both smell SO GOOD! However, I prefer the smell of Calypso Clementine because it's much sweeter. Besides that, Tangerine Boy has a much better performance and lasts much longer, but that doesn't detract from Calypso Clementine. Regarding sillage and longevity, it outperforms many of the other citrus fragrances I have in my collection. I always layer both. I do the whole body routine with all the products from Calypso Clementine and end it with Calypso Clementine and Tangerine Boy EDP. They both dry down with an addicting woody floral scent.

I really love this fragrance. It's very unisex and could be rocked by anyone. I think they should market this as unisex. I have the EDP and it has amazing longevity. Clementine and the driftwood is definitely the stars of the show, I don't get much if any neroli. You would have to like woody fruity fragrance profiles to like this. I love any type of orange fruit scent but this one is unique because it's not super girly type fruity. And I love that it's not the type of house cleaning orange scents but it's still very fresh. Very straightforward and not complex but it's not an overdone scent profile either. One of my favorite releases from this year!

I gave this a sniff and it was a sad no. Its very citrus at first and becomes a masculine orange woody .I smell something in the notes ive smelled before but on my skin its a def no. The cherry sweetheart was my winner.

I love this scent and I don't care if it leans masculine! it really uplifts my mood and makes me feel happy :) It's a sophisticated citrus scent and perfect for the daytime

Calypso Clementine smells like a lot of BBW citrus scents they put out. It's nothing special in my opinion. It doesn't even last 2 hours.

Feminine leaning, bright clementine with some depth! I enjoyed this alot while it lasted. Longevity was poor for me, but Its a fun scent

smells like mandarin oranges to me. so so so good. i’m not a huge fan of citrus perfumes but this could get me into them more

This is very similar to Molecule 01+Mandarin and Acqua Colonia 4711 mandarine and cardamom, including in longevity.

Strong! Very gorgeous citrus! But a perfumey citrus. Love this one!
