Ghoul Friend

The making of a Candy Apple with Strawberry Candy Syrup... My first impression was red fruit syrup & flowers. I get strawberry/strawberry syrup, but I also get an apple/apple blossom, peony & citrus. If you imagine a candy apple (not a caramel apple) being made, with strawberry candy coating still in liquid form you'd be close. I agree with other reviewers that there's nothing sinister here, and the closest to Halloween I get is a candy apple, so it really could be worn year round. Overall, it's a strawberry syrup & apple scent that could be easily layered with other scents to bring out a strawberry facet (and the possibilities here are endless as it doesn't have patchouli or lactonics so it's somewhat streamlined so to speak). I have to say it... Ghoul Friend is one of the cutest and best smelling things B&BW has EVER done for their Halloween line. I finally got my hands on it now that it's out here, and oh my god... I'm obsessed. It's so sweet and fruity with that perfect mix of flirty and fun that just makes you want to keep smelling yourself all day. The peony note is front and center (which I love), and it blends so well with the berry sweetness. It's girly, cozy, and a little mischievous... basically the perfect Halloween scent for someone who prefers sweet and pretty over dark and heavy stuff imo. ANYWAY, if you're into sweet, bright, peony heavy scents that make you feel cute and confident, Ghoul Friend is 100% a must. I'm so happy it finally dropped in my country because this one is staying in my collection permanently!!

Bought this and the body wash about a month ago when there was a sale on travel size and boy do I wish I had gotten the full size! I went to the site yesterday to see if there was any more and it’s gone. Hopefully this is a permanent Halloween scent and I’ll be able to get it next year. It reminds me of something along the lines of Burberry Her/Elixir or Thomas K Candy. This layers well with those fragrances as well as BBW Champagne Apple& Honey. It’s sooo girly and sweet! I love it! I have to admit the love was a slow burn but I’m fully into her, now!

I absolutely LOVE this scent! ❤️ I haven't actually smelled the fragrance mist yet, but I have the body wash and it smells AMAZING! 😍 The main accords put fresh as the most prominent, but I have to disagree. I get a LOT of strawberry in it, followed by a little bit of the peony, and then a hint of citrus. The only possibly negative thing I would say about it is it doesn't smell like a Fall scent to me. I think it screams Spring and Summer.

I'm gonna start off by saying I am a gourmand junkie. The sweeter the better for me and recently , my nose is taking a liking to sweet freshy florals. That's what this is. It's not candy like what I was expecting nor is it sugary. It's a fresh sweet fruity perfume like fragrance. I do get a fresh out the shower and ready to love on my partner type of vibe. It's good for warm weather, anyone could sweat in this and still smell amazing.

if there’s anything I love in this world besides indolic jasmines, it’s synthetic strawberry. Say what you will about synthetic strawberry smells, but to me they’re nostalgic, delicious, and super fun. If you want a realistic strawberry, this won’t be for you. However, if you’re looking for a syrupy sweet strawberry floral to make you feel like a scented strawberry shortcake doll come to life, this is it

This is the nostalgic scent of a hello Kitty store!! Late 1980s you walked into that store and the plasticky fruit scented erasers, and strawberry candies on a stick. You know that smell. This is that smell! I fell in love instantly. This is definitely a happy place scent. I have the body spray and I’d love to get the lotion -hoping this comes back next Halloween season.

Unfortunately, I was late to the party and should have gotten this a lot sooner. Sprayed this today and came off very bubble gummy but calms down somewhat citrusy. This should have been in the spring line under a different name lol. This doesn’t give me spooky vibes or anything. Very playful and fruity.

Ghoul Friend is my favorite BBW mist. It’s tart, fruity, juicy, and FUN. It has a fruity booziness like Champagne Toast’s more intense fruitier sister. It’s one of BBW’s stronger mists as well. Definitely on the more youthful candy-like side.

it makes me smell like candy (some ppl say it makes me smell like grapes ???) but i wear it w vampire blood lotion and it smells super good 😋😋

Yeah, I love this mist♡ It's super fruity, but it has a slightly beerlike scent to it.

My cousin had (maybe still has?) some stuff in this scent. It lingers in the air pleasantly for a little while after spraying. It's interesting that people cited peony highest here, as I have the entirely opposite impression; I think strawberry is the main player here. In fact, it reminded me strongly of The Body Shop's "Strawberry" products immediately upon smelling. The hand soap in this fragrance in particular is very strawberry forward. This is also moderately orangey, and lightly floral. GF also very much reminds me of a less floral "Love and Sunshine" by B&BW, despite the wildly different packaging and presentation (which also features strawberry). I mean, "Ghoul Friend" is cute and all, but nothing about this is autumnal or Halloween-ish whatsoever. It's just a fairly linear and understandable summery fragrance. (Cross posted from other entry.) Sorry guys, this is Vampire Blood. It's just a repackage, they used to label products with "Ghoul Friend" a few years ago. Some people are going to get snippy and say I'm wrong, whatever 😒 🙄 It's very similar to Gingham Gorgeous, like 90%, but if you smell them side-by-side they're a little different. The strawberry here is a little denser.

It reminds me a lot of strawberry soda-- and just a fairly light, pleasant strawberry sweetness! I like this for a body mist, though it still has that "headache inducing sharpness" that all body mists seem to have. This one's is pretty light, though. It's funny because this scent doesn't really smell like anything having to do with Halloween or ghouls, it's actually very spring-esque!

A delicate and fresh fruity floral that makes me feel a bit nostalgic. The fruitiness melds rather nicely with the fresh flowers, which lend a kind of soapiness to the scent that ultimately reminds me of a strawberry shampoo I used to use as a teen. The longevity is a bit lackluster on the skin, but it does last a little longer on clothes.

This was my go to spray in college but I'll try not to let that bias me. I still like it but it's not the first one I grab anymore. I was first lured by the branding but I do really love the sweety strawberry smell with the slightly deeper undertones

It's really good!!! I know it's a Halloween scent but it reminds me of Winter. Not Christmas-Winter but Winter Winter. In a good way. Unfortunately when it dries off it gives off the smell of cough medicine, probably due to the strawberry scent.

Not my favorite but a definite like. Strawberry candy and powdery peony mixed in one. I wouldn't say it's a Halloween scent at all but something that is likeable to get you through a stressful day.

Remarkably fresh for being a sweet floral fragrance. Great for all but the summer heat. I'm not sure about the rose accord but the fruity freshness almost gives it an ozonic accord.

On me it smells sour and gross. Like something is off in the fridge. Gave it to my boyfriend and he smells SO good with it, works way better with his skin and he smells like one of those Safeway fruit + flower baskets. Skin chemestry matters a TON with this one.

this smells like a very mediocre conditioner, nothing unique or oustanding. and it made me vomit one time because of how overpowering it can be. still smells nice though i like it

Smells like cough syrup to me when first sprayed, it last long on clothes. 1/20/25: Once it’s dry it smells okay, still smells ‘syrupy’ but fresh and sweet.

Apple? Strawberry. Dark fruity scent. Night time scent. Sparkingly berry. This is definitely a youthful and playful scent. I like it but it's not for me.

Sour, candied strawberry. I'm surprised that "sweet" is so low on the accords list. I don't pick up on the peony, but my nose is very sensitive to strawberry notes, so I guess that makes sense 😅 Definitely a more juvenile scent. edit 2025: VERY floral this year, totally opposite experience from last year lol. It's almost dusty to my nose now.

I wanted to love this but the citrus is so polarizing, I couldn't stand it. I can't describe it in words but the citrus note screams in your face. It's too bad the packaging is so cute though.

Smells ok in the bottle but once it dries on my skin it fades into this weird sickly gross scent.

Well very interesting, sweet juicy strawberry, fresh-watery floral and pink, but intensely green too, then unexpectedly soapy, with a sharp but sugared citrus base which makes it more than a juvenile fruity scent. The 'dark strawberries' note must imply a strawberry leaf note along with the actual strawberry since I smell a darker-deeper and greener strawberry here with a soapy vibe developing on my skin, reminiscent of the soapy element in Sun-Ripened Raspberry which has.... strawberry leaf... so there you go. Here though I love the soapy trait while in Sun-Ripened Raspberry it is too laundry-soapy and intense. The peony adds the pink crisp-watery-ozonic and heady-floral freshness in the opening which i am not crazy about, but incorporated into the richer green strawberry notes of the drydown it's a nice heady-floral touch that accentuates the slight balsamic effect I smell from the sugared citrus and it keeps the scent girly and fresh. It is at first a pink and green scent, a sweeter, deeper BBW Sweet Pea - being a fresh green and pink scent too - due to the fresh peony here and the fresh freesia there, the sweet green pea-raspberry there and the dark green/leafy strawberry here. Not sure if others are getting a Sweet Pea impression here but I do. At the same time this nice soapy tone appears from the 'dark strawberries' as it settles, deviating it from the traditional crisp Sweet Pea league, and a cold sugared slightly sharp citrus scent, being the 'spine-chilling citrus', joins the soapy and sweeter, darker 'Sweet Pea' scent. The fruity sugared citrus scent blending with the sweet pink and green strawberry scent creates a balsamic sugared effect, slightly sharp but sugared and it's what I love about this scent. Sugared citrus scents are my weakness - see VS Seaside Surf and VS Tease Sugar Fleur. The darker pink-green strawberry and the sugared citrus justify the black color of the lotion's bottle and the dark shading of the pink part on the mist. I am not a fan of the juvenile basic Vampire Blood which I returned last year, but I do like this.

Kinda did not like this when I bought it since it smells like plastic and rubber to me so I disregard it. Then I gave it another try after a few months and somehow it smelled better than when I first smelled it. Although the smell of plastic really bothers me and tbh I do not smell any strawberry in it, its more floral. The ffm came with stronger scent but I love the body cream. its lighter and I can taste a sweetness from a berry.

Not my favorite scent of the 2024 launch. I thought I would love it since the scent notes are almost exact to Gingham Gorgeous (except the change a peach note for a citrus note) but this one smells kinda sour. It would have been a great scent if they changed the citrus note for a vanilla note! Or even a woody note!

Perfect scent for October weather! This smells like the chewy pink SweetTarts, the ones that are about the size of a half dollar coin. 😋 Yummy. Fresh, sweet, but tart berry scent. A fun, light, & playful. They only complaint is the price 😕 BBW prices are crazy high for the ffm that do not last.

Just a little review to share that GHOUL FRIEND reminds me of HELLO BEAUTIFUL by Bath and Body Works - a pretty, sharp, floral spring scent. The main difference is that Ghoul Friend has an added strawberry note but it has a similar sharp spring floral base to Hello Beautiful.

Smells like hairspray at first but as the alcohol settles, the prettiest fruity floral that actually lasts but it’s addicting and I keep going back to spray some more. I’ve already made a dent in my brand new spray. I’m debating whether I should get a back up or not.

Ghoul Friend is a unique fruity & sweet shampoo scent. I really like it. Kinda retro. The scent reminds me of Jirmack shampoo from the 1980's with Victoria Principal starring in the commercials. I'm thinking about buying the body lotion since I like the mist so much.

I am thinking they should have marketed this as an Easter scent instead of Halloween. It’s very Spring to me. It’s candy and flowers but less romantic and more youthful. It reminds me of pink jelly beans.
