Gingham Glow

Sweet, aromatic, balsamic, woody, herbal, powdery, fresh spicy, floral, fruity, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, delightful, cheerful, joyful, uplifting, cozy, comforting, nostalgic This is such a delightful fragrance! It has this really lovely golden feel to it, like that golden hour in the evening. You feel the warmth of the Sun on your shoulders as you gaze out over a field of marigolds, sunflowers, and wildflowers. Such a bright, whimsical, and joyful feeling that just makes you smile. There’s almost a nostalgic feeling to this one that I thoroughly enjoy! It really does have the perfect vibe for a seamless transition from summer to autumn! There’s a sweet, floral, and almost this kind of dusty quality (in a good way) from the marigold. I also get the creamy sandalwood adding a nice woody depth, and sweet and juicy nectarine adding some fruity sweetness. It does give almost a white floral Solar vibe as well somehow. I haven’t tried many of the Gingham scents, but this is by far my favorite of them that I have tried, and likely even the ones I haven’t from reading their notes. I do think it’s quite similar to Copper Fields (which I also really enjoy), and has the same sunny late summer and early fall vibe which is really nice. I also get the comparisons to Tom Ford Soleil Blanc because I kind of get that too in a way. Very pretty, Happy, floral, warm, sunny, delicately sweet, uplifting, bright, cozy, woody, cheerful, feminine, whimsical, joyful, and charming. It’s such a delightful fragrance! There’s almost a nostalgic feeling to this one that I thoroughly enjoy. Gingham Glow is a such lovely, warm, and sunny golden floral scent with a delicately sweet honeyed nectar dripping through it, and the slightly sweet and creamy, aromatic woody warmth of sandalwood. I feel like there’s also got to be some syrupy orange blossom in here adding to the sweetness as well as some vanilla and amber because it has such a warm and golden feel to it. There’s also just a touch of something sun tan lotion like. This is such a perfect fragrance for summer, fall, and especially that transitional period between the two. I think the packaging is very fitting and that it’s very aptly named Gingham Glow because it really does give this overall beautiful feel of a golden warmth. I do find this to be somewhat similar to B&BW Copper Fields and oddly enough, even a bit like Tom Ford Soleil Blanc. I get good performance with Gingham Glow, especially when I’m using the shower gel, lotion, and mist together. The longevity is really nice, it lasts throughout the whole day on me. The projection is decent too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. Out of this year’s B&BW Fall and Halloween fragrances I bought the Gingham Glow gift set (mist, lotion, shower gel, hand cream), and the mist, lotion, and shower gel of Vanilla Romance (sooo incredible!), Dark Kiss, Wicked Vanilla Woods, and just the lotion Candy Apple Cauldron. Overall, I was even more impressed with my order (a blind buy) than I’d expected to be! I’m enjoying everything, but Vanilla Romance and Wicked Vanilla Woods are definitely my favorites (I’m a major vanilla fan!)! I also ended up placing a 2nd order for Blueberry Bundt Cake, Autumn Drive, Champagne Apple & Honey, Together Weather, and more Cozy Vanilla Bourbon... all of which are amazing!

I was late to the game so I only managed to get my hands on the body wash and body butter but I can't stop sniffing myself! I grow marigolds in my garden but can't detect them in this. To me this smells more like powdery orange blossom with some yellow florals like frangipani and ylang ylang, giving it a sunny, fluffy, solar feel. There's a touch of sweetness but nothing heavy or cloying. How I wish I could get my hands on the body spray of this! It's one of my favourite BBW scents along with Guilty as Fig. I'll layer this with Aerin Hibiscus Palm and JPG Cabaret. Maybe Kilian's Love Don't be Shy would be nice with it too. Update: I managed to get the body mist as well as more of the body care range and wow, I love this so much! The sweet, fluffy marshmallowy goodness with the solar florals is chef's kiss 💋 I got a compliment from a friend while wearing this, she said I smell delicious. I just wish it projected more but anyway. When I wear the beast that is Sintra I use this to layer it and I enjoy that a lot.

It smells like marigolds. To my nose at least. Already bought a backup bottle if they discontinue. IT IS AMAZING. It smell like exactly like what nectarine would smell like. Imagine orange flowers like marigolds and yellow green flowers in field, you’re surrounded by flowers bees refuse to leave alone. It’s summer time, in the dry down you get the GLOW. Slightly sweet, herbal balsamic. I don’t know why it would be compared to soliel blanc, to my nose it smells nothing like soliel blanc by Tom ford. At the beach smells more like soliel blanc by TF. It’s beautiful I don’t mind spraying it on all the time, I like it in the air, I love it on myself in my sheets even my hair. It’s lovely. Edit: updated I LOVE IT. It is the BEST bbw mist. I’ll buy the perfume too soon. It smells like nectar, THE SUN, marigolds the colour orange. (Not the fruit not the flower) maybe I have synesthesia but this smells like the colour orange. It’s brilliant I hope they never discontinue.

This is such a solar scent for me. So warm and luminous, but not bright and uplifting or like a beachy profile...it’s more like a cozy late summer (August) to early fall (September) transition scent. I see residual rays of light over sunflower fields during sunset, and the autumn air slowly entering the scene. I guess Marigold would be the main note. It’s a note I’m not as familiar with, but I know how the other notes smell like, so it was the one that stuck out to me the most and what has made this so unique compared to other Bath and Body Works scents I’ve tested. There’s a longing or yearning quality about it, something bittersweet and nostalgic. It almost wants to lean vintage, but it has a modern edginess to it. I tried Penhaligon’s Solaris, and I can say that, while this is not a dupe for it, it definitely gives me that same glowy vibe, and it’s a way affordable alternative. We’re talking one $ sign vs $$$.
