Gingham

It’s kind of confusing that there are two entries on this site for Gingham. Anyway, I’m reviewing the EDP and the fragrance mist. The EDP scores points right off the bat for having a sweet, mellow opening rather than a burst of sharp alcohol. I smell fruit for the first couple hours, but eventually it becomes predominantly floral and soapy. It’s a fresh soapy scent, not a stringent one. After four hours I can barely smell it, but it is still there. I can’t stress this enough: it’s a really beautiful scent. Groundbreaking? No, but there’s something special about this one, a certain je ne sais quoi that I think makes it truly ageless; anyone from 9-99 could pull this off. The body mist is nice, too, but is less orangey than the EDP. It’s really refreshing and perfect as an after shower mist or to take with you to the gym. It’s crisp, clean, and never cloying.

Such a gorgeous fresh floral scent!! It's appropriate for school and work and can be worn for casual events, too. This is very floral and citrusy. The perfume is so lovely but it doesn't last very long (on my skin, maybe 2 or 3 hours max or a solid 3 hours if sprayed on clothes). Layering the perfume with the Gingham body wash, mist, and especially lotion helps the sillage and wear a bit. I think the smell is gorgeous and still worth it, I just respray any time I use the restroom throughout the day. If you really like very fresh floral scents and don't mind layering up with the other products or reapplying throughout the day I think it's totally worth giving it a try, the scent is just that good.

As I was searching for a lighter and fresh scent, I stumbled upon this in BBW. It had that sweet floral scent with a touch of citrus. Just perfect for everyday use in my tropical country. I was pretty obsessed with this scent, and indulged myself in most of the line (fragrance mist, body wash, etc.) it was such a comforting scent that I even spray the fragrance mist on my sheets before going to sleep. I usually reach for this when it's sunny outside because the natural warmth brings out more of the citrus. It's definitely a scent that makes me happy. I find that it lasts longer on my clothes than skin. Clothes nearly 5 hours, where skin maybe 1-2 hours at most.

Sweet & clean. This is a very pretty and light scent that has good staying power. It remains sweet without losing its freshness. It's a perfect everyday scent to wear for any occasion day or night. My nose detects sweet powdery freshness. It smells like an expensive perfume, I wouldn't think its a body mist. Suitable for any age, but I see someone in their mid twenties and up rocking this as an everyday scent. This is a safe reach and will make you smell feminine and clean. 10/10

Gingham is a straightforward, happy, preppy scent. I love the mandarin and freesia combo, as it's a great balance and sweet without being cloying. Both primary notes smell authentic and clean. I have the mist as well as the edt. The edt perfumes better (of course) with moderate sillage and longevity. This scent is an immediate pick me up of the fresh variety. Definitely a great value if this is your cup of tea, and it is mine!

I'm not one for clean, fresh scents most days, but sometimes, I am, and this is my go to. This smells very bright and fresh, like clean linen, oranges, and violets, without smelling like laundry detergent (which I hate). This fragrance doesn't last too long on me, but neither does the higher-end designer versions of this. Good value for price, this is a safe blind buy if you're looking for a fresh fragrance.

Sweet (sugary kind of sweet) + citrusy (orange citrusy) + fresh (morning kind of fresh) + juicy (like a bit diluted sweet cordial drink). Smells like the sweet mandarin oranges you get during Chinese New Year made into juice. The dried down smells like a male perfume a bit to me maybe because it's unisex. Loved this. This is my review for the mist btw.

I'm reviewing the body cream! Oh my goodness. I'm in love? This is a cup of freshly squeezed clementine juice. So sweet and sugary and yummy. I was looking for something sweet and citrusy over the summer and have found it. Unsure if the fragrance mist smells the same, but I really want the whole set now.

Perfect clean girl scent. Great for the days I don't know what to wear or want something fresh & light. I own this in all of it forms from BBW & most of the flankers. Gingham is classic Bath & Body Works. A little bit fruity & a little dash of floral. Inoffensive scent for any occasion.

I collect most BBW perfumes and that is why I purchased this. I am very surprised by how much I like this! It is a clean scent, without any discernible notes, but pretty and fresh. It just smells like fresh shampoo in the best way.

Yesss it's floral with lil bit sweet which is that makes me fall in love. It's a light scent. Suitable for day time. Definitely for summer and spring. Not to girly, because it's airy and clean feel.. :)

beautiful scent for summer.. smells very clean and a little citrusy and aquatic..it smells exactly like an old oriflame perfume called northern lights that i used to weare for a long time

I love this scent, it smells like fresh clean laundry!!! It's citrusy & floral, a great fresh, clean scent. My only issue is that it barely lasts 2 hours, even though this is an EDP.

Gingham is a gentle but very good-smelling fresh scent. It's so well blended that I can't pick out any particular notes. Inoffensive and extremely wearable.

I smell a watered down MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 from this. I bought one for myself. A good performance body spray. Just right.

I love this fragrance. It has a beautiful feminine and sweet scent. One of my favorites.

I was longing to leave a review about this scent and completely missed that Fragrantica finally created a page for it :) I like this! I own the body spray, the shower gel, the moisturizing shower gel, the body cream, and the 7ml perfume. I got these at a very cheap price in store. Apart from the three notes listed the shower gel bottle mentions *white peach*, which is not listed here but is very detectable. It's a very nice fruity floral, very feminine and pleasant, and somewhat clean and juicy. I don't find this groundbreaking nor would I want to smell like this on a very important occasion, it's just a nice and safe perfume in my opinion. Perfect for those who like light fragrances; it's pleasant, safe, but not insanely incredible to me.

The thing I love most about Gingham is its opening. It starts off with such a happy, juicy, mouth watering clementine note. This note is well balanced between sweet and zesty and is quite refreshing and delightful. The heart is more on the soft feminine floral side with some hint of unlisted peach. I can detect easily a sharp white musk and probably some sandalwood in the base. The heart and base are quite lackluster after that bright opening and the overall performance is quite weak. But if you don’t mind respraying it is a nice pick me up scent for summer. However don’t pay full price for the EDP, the mist would be the better choice.

This is my all time favorite BBW fragrance. It is floral but sweet, not sugar like. This is the perfect Freesia and Violet scent. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't last. I only get a few hours of the scent on my skin. I have dry skin so you make get to the 4-6 hours with a proper moisturizer. But to be honest I don't care, BBW sales a cute travel spray of the perfume that fits easily in my wallet. This scent is so good for spring and summer I'll happily reapply.

Inoffensively nice, not particularly memorable but smells like clean laundry and herbal essences shampoo. A good scent to throw in your car or purse if you need a quick refresh. I'd never smell it on someone and immediately identify it, I'd just think they smelled clean. Similar to Ralph by Ralph Lauren but less fruity and more floral & cotton. I scored a bottle on sale for $15 and it's totally worth that, but I wouldn't pay full retail $60 for it.

I was surprised when I received a compliment with fragrance. I use the body mist as an everyday throw-on scent and I usually can't smell it for more than 2 or 3 hours. While shopping after work I received an 'oh, you smell good' from a younger guy. I was like, maybe I need to wear this more often. But seriously, when I wear BBW scents I go ham - easily 10 - 15 sprays. Now I have a back-up bottle and the lotion.

This is quite nice for BBW. Gingham is a fresh spring scent. It's energetic. aquatic, citrusy, and just a tiny bit sweet (which is probably the stonefruit). Wearing gingham makes me feel...upbeat! I like to wear this when I'm running errands or need to get things done. It's a peppy little frag and helps me to feel the same.

a really classic and easy perfume, like another reviewer said however if you like the smell, just get the mist. the perfume doesn't offer any insane longevity or sillage that makes it worth the extra price. i find the scent to be slightly sweet and clean, sort of reminiscent of fresh laundry if it was an elevated scent

Orange / slightly peachy, very sweet but not adolescent. Tried this as a body spray, spray on clothes and on body for maximum lasting power (which isn't great). This is the perfect scent for when lounging - lacks complexity but sometimes you need something that's a no-brainer.

I had to buy into the hype of this product and I am presently surprised! It's a super inoffensive scent with an initial opener is that is VERY orangey but the dry down to freesia (one of my absolute fav flowers) comes out perfectly on me. Blind buy, ABSOUTLY worth it!

Reviewing the EDP. First, it smells like the original formula of GAP Dream. Then it dries down to a faint caramel syrup scent and violets. The scent will only last a little an hour.

This perfume also has a white Peach note that is not listed above.

This review is for the fine fragrance mist not the perfume. A fresh and clean scent. The clementine, freesia and violet notes are almost drowned out by musky/cologne-y notes at first. It gets much better once it dries down and you can actually smell some individual notes. Not a bad scent at all but it does remind me of cologne. I'm not a fan of unisex scents and think it should be printed on the bottle so I can avoid purchasing. These types of scents usually seem half way finished to me. They have some generic base notes but don't have any obvious feminine notes or obvious masculine notes because otherwise they wouldn't be able to call it unisex. At this point I'm just trying to use it up so it doesn't go to waste. (It's been 3 years and I've used about 1/5 of it.) It's ok, definitely not their worst unisex scent (their worst would be Golden Sunflower yikes) but not a like and wouldn't repurchase. Just to clarify, it doesn't smell bad by any means- it just seems stuck between a cologne for men and a perfume for women.

Hundreds and hundreds of B&BW fragrances, but I finally, today, have tried their flagship fragrance. On a cold, gloomy January afternoon of all times. A terrible choice, but some lotion was available for me to try, so I did. This is very cute, and CLEMENTINE is so dead on...it's crazy. Not navel orange, not other citrus. Just clementine. And some light, white, laundry-clean florals. "That's all folks!" In my opinion, the best in class for a light floral B&BW scent is Country Chic, which has a little more depth, but still smells like a warm spring (almost summer) afternoon. Yet, even so, this is quite pleasant and passable. It's pretty, clean, ageless, appropriate and easy. The perfect option to stock up on as a gift for family or friends, as I think this is utterly unobjectionalble. Nobody would dislike this save for true citrus haters.

This is an interesting scent. Marketed by B&BW as a more masculine scent but with the opening of alcohol first with notes of floral it was unsettling to wear. Anyone can wear it. BUT it is very much an adolescent quality scent, something similar to an AXE body spray where it begins with alcohol (almost like aerosol) and is followed by the base notes that is the scent they are marketing. That's why this is just utterly solid, MEH.

There's something about this that burns in my nose. I have no idea what it is... It might be the freesia, even though I love how real freesia smells and B&BW's old Freesia scent. I'm typically not into fresh type scents (it has to be really special, like Sea Island Cotton/Sea Island Shore), so this was not up my alley anyway. If you do like a fresh, Spring day type of scent, then I suppose you could like this. I just dislike it. ☹ The bottle is adorable.

Their worst fragrance imo. It’s just sterile, it’s not warm or inviting or refreshing or happy or feminine. It’s just... ugh. Lacks personality.

All I can smell is cantaloupe. While I like the smell of cantaloupe, it gets to be too much after a while.

Not a fan. But I have just got to say it. Who is in charge of BBw marketing? It is 2022. This is the ugliest name and design ever! This display reminds me of something that would come out in 1994. So oog-LAY! When I tell you I was relieved I didnt care for the smell- girlllll. I was relieved! I almost didn’t want to smell it just for the fear of loving it. What I look like at a hotspot club in the VIP section looking smelling good and when I go to get low .. GINGANHAM with all its blue and white picnic lookin design roll out my clutch, and on to the floor??!!! Not me, SWEEE TEE!!! Leave me out of this mess. BBW- you’re on a time out until further notice. Don’t even get me started with their new 1995 lookin scent BUTTERFLY.

There is something screechy and masculine about this fragrance. It has some wood 🪵 kinda smell. Not bad but something I didn't expect after seeing so many "fresh, clean, powdery" reviews. Longevity is for an hour and sillage is moderate on me.

B&BW got rid of the nectarine note on their website. The strongest note I pick up is peach/nectarine. I've come to realize that if done wrong, peaches and nectarines can come across as a weird funky sweet feet note to me. So this is a pass.

De partida, es un aroma que no es ni masculino ni femenino, es un aroma sin genero, sin edad, sin tiempo. No es dulce, no es floral, no es apolvado, ni almizclado ni especiado tampoco. Solo siento una mandarina desabrida, debil y palida, como si el color naranjo que tienen las mandarinas estuviese desteñido, o esta mandarina ubiese estado toda una noche dentro de una piscina (el punto acuatico), en la cual, esta logró descomponerse un poco y perder su color. No es un aroma alegre, tampoco mentiria al decir que no es un olor fresco, porque claramente es muy fresco. Pero lo siento un aroma fresco que no tiene muchos animos de nada, es como si esta mandarina estuviese cansada, apagada, desapercibida, incluso un poco triste y enferma del estomago. Pero FRESCA si o si. Es como si este aroma te dijera que si lo usas, nada interesante ni divertido te va a ocurrir en la cotidianidad de tu vida. Pienso que hay aromas que son frescos mas encantadores que este, incluso los shampoo para ropas de la lavadora tienen mas vida que esto. Es un perfume fresco apático, sin vida con olor a mandarina que fue abandonada por sus otras hermanas mandarinas y quedo sola en una piscina vacía, y una persona que tenia mucho calor, la encontró, la recogió, la olió y esto le reconfortó un poco del calor, pero luego la volvió a tirar por ahí.

I so want to LOVE this fragrance. I have the perfume, the mist, the body cream, and a travel set, so I went "all in" on this scent. I love the packaging, and I love the idea of its representing Bath and Body Works...but try as I might.... I am not even sure I LIKE it. I am learning by trial and error that freesia and I don't play nicely together. I have already learned that I can't wear anything that is heavy on the peach or nectarine family (still hoping I can "do" apricot) because it starts smelling like BO (NOT Black Opium!) on me, but sometimes I can get away with a scent if there is not much of it in there. I want it to be the clean, light floral topped off with a sunny citrus note fragrance that I pictured it as being in my mind's eye, but on me it smells like cheap, peachy dish detergent. I organize whatever BBW I have out to use at the moment by color and season, and Gingham would be long gone except it looks so nice on the shelf with some of my other springy, blue and purple toned fragrances like One in a Million and Moonlight Path. 5/10 - I would grade it lower except I adore the packaging. I am working up the courage to click the "frowny face of dislike" on this...but I hate admitting defeat.

I wrote a review on it already. I got small body cream at the time and i decided to leave it at work for us all to use because i was meh about it. So the other day, I walk by coworker and something smells fresh, fruity and clean so i assume that he used room freshener or something. He says no, he used this cream on his hands. I have tried it myself since then and damn, I didn't realize that this cream lasts and projects scent like crazy. I don't know why this one does that but it LASTS. If you like this sort of a scent, layered with body spray, I think you would get excellent projection. Today I used this cream at work and right after that, client came to my desk-the first thing out fo her mouth was "oh is someone wearing perfume? it smells so nice!". The fact that it projects this way and gathers compliments definately make me want to try it in fragrance form

I'm missing the violet! I WANT to smell violet...but nope! This one is a miss for me. It's not bad! There has only been ONE BAD terrible fragrance to me that they have made. But most, like many have said, just all smell "kinda" alike. A bit of difference for noses (me included) that can pick out their favorite notes, but for most just "nice". I've noticed several times that people smell very strongly of B&BW. It's nice to smell, but to my nose, it's just a B&BW something 'r other. I think my nose has changed and no longer desires the products and scents they have. Maybe it's because I have them all and now am tired of them? Scents I've owned for years tend to have that effect on me if they aren't in my top 20 or so. Soooo..... Enjoy them while you love them!

With a fragrance such as this, you have to have a certain taste to really enjoy it. It's soft, subtle, malleable to your chemistry, and fresh. This gives me the impression that this fragrance was meant to be a juicy but clean skin scent. The execution of that idea went without a hitch! I could wear this under almost any other fragrance and it would not cause the faintest of dissonance in the composition, but would play in harmony. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this fragrance could be a 'shampoo', 'soapy', or 'laundry detergent' scent that is lovely and soft on it's own or lovely singing backup to other beloved fragrances.

I have been obsessed with Bath and Body since I worked there back in the late 90's. This fragrance is pleasant, with the freesia, citrus, and violet and maybe a bit of peach showing up. But it's not a head turner. It's very common smelling and not innovative for them like some of their classic scents are. This is your typical floral/fruit fragrance with no facets to set it apart from all the other common smelling fragrances on the market right now. Although it's very pleasant smelling, I'd save the money and spend it on something more memorable.

Got the body spray with glitter in it on the buy 3 get one free deal. This was the free one and without much thought threw it in. It is a very sweet generic scent on me, not really all that fresh but not all that offensive either. I shook up the bottle, sprayed it liberally all over my chest, arms, neck, and back shoulders. Forgot about it. Trotted off to the Docter with my husband for our annual flu shots. Our doctor exclaimed to my husband "My God, her skin is beautiful, so ethereal like a fairy!" So there's that.

It smells mainly like orange blossom. I love orange blossom, so I love this perfume's scent. However, the longevity is incredibly poor. So much so that its not even worth spraying the perfume at all. Might as well just keep it on my vanity for how pretty the bottle is. Let me put it this way -- It was a waste to spend almost $50 on this perfume, when I could have just bought the fragrance mist for the same amount of sillage and longevity. I basically paid for the bottle.

I got small body cream because I had a coupon for free item and I wanted clean floral scent. I am going to be negative and say that this smells like thousand other things they have done before, its beyond boring. Very clean fruity floral. It kind of reminded me of Love Spell by VS except I think Love Spell is stronger and more interesting. This is just snoozefest. I think if anyone wants clean fruity scent there are many others better than this

I was very curious about Gingham since it is very popular nowadays. Now, i am able to get my hands on the mist.. I really thought it was more of a fresh out of a shower scent but it's not. It leans toward more of a sweeter scent that makes me think it's a bit similar to BBW Mad About You. What i like about this is that is likeable and still wearable despite humid weather. A good scent for everyday 😊

I own a 7ml decant. My first encounter at B&BW shop, I liked it immediately. I love to smell this from my girlfriend because it smells feminine, and I often sneak a smell of this from the bottle, before I go to bed, hoping for a sweet dream. And I mean it in a good way. olfactorx.blogspot.com
