Hibiscus Paradise

This is a sweet summer time fruity floral scent. The body spray and the perfume are both pretty good and in the same category; light scent, not a big long lasting fragrance. Something to put on during a hot summer day to smell good, sweet, floral. For me the hibiscus is huge. You have to be in florals and especially hibiscus. The guava and the coconut give it a fruity freshness and watery touch. Like a delicious fruit drink. Guava is stronger than the coconut. My nose mostly detects hibiscus and guava, giving it a bright summery feel and tropical but not enough to be a 'paradise'. It would need more flowers and fruit for that. This is a simple aroma and can even be worn by children or teens. But it does smell mainly like a fresh hibiscus hair spray. This smells so good on my hair more than my clothes. I love to wear this to the beach. Also gives you the Hawaiian island vibes. So wear it on vacation in Hawaii ! Simple, not a big statement maker. Leans more feminine than unisex but anyone who likes hibiscus and guava are gonna like it. I am not picking up on the coconut. There is a touch of vanilla and musk at the dry down. Not bad. Bath & Body Works are just happy mood lifting fragrances for anyone of any age.

I first smelled this on a client when I was first meeting with her to discuss her design plans for her new home. When I first met her I was completely enveloped by this other-worldly smell and I must have complimented her 3 times in the hour and a half we were together. I went out an bought Hibiscus Paradise that night. I get a salt note in there somewhere, although no salt is listed. It gives me a bit of Ellis Brooklyn Salt, a bit of Alien Goddess Intense, and a bit of Demeter Hibiscus. This definitely does not give me sunscreen vibe. I rather intensely dislike sunscreen vibes. The guava and gardenia are in there, but they are way in the background -- more like supporting characters. I would never have picked those notes out independently if someone hadn't pointed them out to me. I own well over 100 fragrances and this has got to be one of my favorites for an easy summertime reach.

Gardenia and coconut is what I get from hibiscus Paradise. I believe this was released in 2020 but this has a retro vibe. I own the entire line of Hibiscus Paradise: body wash, lotion, cream, fine fragrance mist, and perfume! This is reminiscent of 80s and 90s gardenia scents. I love taking a bubble bath with the body wash and finishing with the body cream. This is like a modernized “White Shoulders” without tuberose or a coconut Elizabeth Arden “Gardenia” with less jasmine and less green notes. Those are old school classics which take a certain personality to work. Even though I own the entire line, I think it is a bit too much to wear the fine fragrance mist with the cream and lotion. I really like this but this is a love or hate fragrance. I find it clean and tropical.

It’s a powdery creamy Coconut wich i actually like, smells verry similar to Island away by Victoria secret. It would’ve been a 10/10 but it doesn’t last..i was expecting at least 3 4 hours.

BBW Hibiscus Paradise EDP was a surprise, but, unfortunately, not in a good way. I bought it a few summers ago and found it to be more about coconut than hibiscus, at least on my skin. You see, a sweet creamy coconut (to me) is more an autumnal than a summery scent. For coconut to work in our scorching summers, it has to be green, or an iced interpretation of coconut water with lots of citrus and green notes and fresh flowers. However, warm, sweet and creamy renditions of coconut overwhelm me in the sweltering heat. If I were to make an interpretation of a hibiscus perfume, I would accent its tangy tones with citrus. It’s fruity tones with berries and it’s floral tones with fresh flowers (like peonies and magnolias), and use any other strong notes with a very delicate hand. However, coconut here is just too overwhelming and it takes over the hibiscus after a minute or two. Sadly a pass for summer, I wear it sparingly in autumn.

I bought the fine fragrance mist after falling in love with the scent in the store. When I actually sprayed a significant amount on myself after bringing it home, it just made me think of shampoo. Not the kind of shampoo I want to smell like for more than an hour either.

When I got this last year 2021, I liked it. I got the lotion and mist. It's a little vintage powdery but still nice. But.now....whenever I spray the mist on my skin it come across smelling like corn chips. No, no no.

From the bottle I get the fruity notes, but on my skin it immediately pulls as DRY coconut sunscreen.

This is just kinda... ew. I'll agree that it smells vintage, but I actually like vintage fragrances. Just not this. It isn't powdery or coconutty or even that tropical. It's... musty. Musty dusty. Sitting in your attic. It's like if you had a vibrant Hawaiian themed dad shirt in your attic for 15 years. On the outside, it's vibrant and you expect tropical fun, but when you smell it, there's only rot. I've tried to like it this year and last year and I still can't stand it.

I own both the cream and the mist. This is a tart and surprisingly powdery coconut scent which is not among my favorites but I bought it to try to fix an expensive mistake (a failed perfume blind buy; CSP Peach Vanille, which contains hibiscus) It did improve the perfume, with layering, but not by much. This is actually a perfectly nice fragrance. And it’s VERY long lasting. I would recommend it to those who love the scent of hibiscus. The guava really comes through, also. Coconut, too. It’s all here. It’s just not a combination of flower and coconut I am crazy about. Never was. (Though I do love hibiscus iced tea!) I did layer this with La Vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal tonight and it’s a really brilliant combination, actually. It creates an entirely different perfume when these scents are combined, but still completely tropical.
