In The Stars

I agree with the other reviewers who said this is a more complex and expensive-smelling scent than most BBW fragrances. The more I wear it, the more complex it seems to me. If you blindfolded me and told me this was made by Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs, I would believe you 100% and guess it belonged to the Wanderlust catalogue. It’s surprisingly mature without being powdery or old-fashioned. It’s extremely fresh and clean without smelling like soap or laundry. It’s remarkably balanced, and I keep smelling my arm trying to pick out the notes. There’s definitely citrus but it’s an aquatic, ozonic type of citrus, and it’s rounded out beautifully by a woody, sandy kind of note. To me, this is a beachy scent, but it’s not a beach with lurid flowers, fruity cocktails, and sunscreen-slathered tourists. This is a hidden gem only the locals know about, maybe a gorgeous marsh tucked away behind Spanish moss with alligators lurking in the water and an afternoon thunderstorm rolling in. It’s beautiful but a little dangerous. It’s the breeze before the storm on a humid August day in Florida. This smells a lot closer to Coco Madamoiselle than Baccarat Rouge 540, but I don't currently own the latter to compare it so I'm not 100% sure on that.

I got this as a birthday present from a beloved friend, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it! Normally, I wouldn’t go for such sweet scents, but this was one that I appreciated and really made me fall in love with the sweetness of it. I basically bathed in this during my college days but even when I wore just a few sprays, the longevity and sillage was amazing. An ex even said it lingered in his car for days (hate him tho! its part of why i dont think i can wear this again LOL) Anyways, this is the fragrance I’ve gotten the most compliments out of. Friends have literally whipped around to sniff the air and ask me if it’s my perfume, no joke. Visually, I picture this as a feminine, bubbly ray of sunshine with a love for sundresses and pink bubblegum lipgloss; she is anything BUT innocent, though! I also picture a shy, hopeless romantic, caressing a fluffy, white Persian cat by the window, sipping on white wine as she observes the people outside. Overall, this is definitely the sweetest, most feminine scent I have ever had with the best longevity and sillage.

This body mist is a hidden gem. It smells expensive, but it costs less than a pizza. It has a moderate sillage that doesn’t choke anyone, and it lasts longer than some of the Netflix shows. It’s similar to BR540, but more tangy and ambery with a twist of white oud and clean musk. It’s a sophisticated burnt sugar scent that makes me feel powerful and sexy, unisex but leans more masculine in my opinion. I love BR540 a lot, it is my third signature scent, but I don’t want to use it at home or layer it with cheap freshies. That would be like putting caviar on a cracker. So I use In The Star instead, I spray it on me every time after showering, because I deserve to smell good even when I’m not going out for an entire day. I also love to layer it with other fragrances, say, Chanel Platinum Egoiste, D&G Light Blue Eau Intense female version, Guerlain Homme, and freshies that need some sweet twists. It makes them more complex and interesting, smoothing all sharp edges. I love it, 11/10 in my honest opinion due to its versatility and affordable price. It’s a must-have if you love BR540’s DNA.

I have left without this almost every time I went into a store to smell it. I did not get the hype at all and the comparisons to BCR I was like "where? This smells like a musky mature...." I finally, FINALLY decided to get this and hope for the best and once I smelled it at home I finally figured out why this has been on the shelves for as long as it has. It's BEAUTIFUL! No joke, this is so pretty and rally takes BCR 540 on a different path, a more fruitier, citrusy path and that is art to me. It's too bad that at the store I dont get all the nuances hat this fragrance has which i am now realizing i have to revisit the snowflakes and cashmere and Ivory cashmere because i couldn't smell them in store very well but i see people really love those scents. This is going in the "wear with everything" list. I am glad they still have this in the stores as this will be a constant for me now.

In the Stars ✨ indeed has a similar vibe to BCR540. It has that sweet and medicinal synthetic bomb of a concoction (I get ambroxan, isoE super, ethylmaltol, hedione and akigalawood or Cypriol); intriguing, unique and totally unisex. While BCR performs in the most mysterious way on my skin, ItS acts the same all through. BCR when smelled in the air from a distance is more sparkling sweet almost ethereal and the medicinal accord is in the background. When smelled up close (nose to skin) is heavily medicinal and less sweet. In the Stars is both less sweet and less medicinal than BCR if smelled either way. It is exactly unisex while Clod and Burberry Her are more feminine leaning inspirations. In the Stars would be great for layering with any of them. It has great performance for a mist; I don’t think you need the edt.

So I recently found a full bottle i had of this from like 2017 that was sent as a wrong order. Imagine my surprise that I didn’t know I had such a treasure all this time. BR540, Cloud and Cheirosa 68 are a constant in my rotation and this one is along the same DNA and has a massive sillage and staying power (unlike Cloud which is terrible). Just like BR it leans heavy into ethyl maltol note which is like airy cotton candy, crystalised sugar that has a bit of a rubbery plastic quality, some people hate but i happen to love. Not sure if by now BBW reformulated this scent to cut some costs like they seem to be doing w all their hits (Vanilla Bean Noel is just a shell of what used to be an incredible scent) but ill definitely be enjoying my In The Stars mist on the days I don’t want to waste the pricier stuff. Yummm!

I wasn't interested in this one at all. I picked it up during a FFM sale & now In The Stars is my favorite. It blends really with my chemistry. I thought I would try Cloud because of the comparisons, but I don't care fpr the coconut note that much & didn't understand how they could be similar because of the lavender/coconut top notes in Cloud, while In The Stars has bright, citrus top notes. I wore ITS body spray & lotion with Thara from Lattafa, smelling my wrist then next morning, sure enough it smells like I wore Cloud. Kind of hilarious & makes me think I should give Cloud another chance & layer it with In The Stars. I really, really wish that BBW would bring back In The Stars edp. I would definitely stock up!

In The Stars has a similar DNA to BR540 but with a twist. The tangelo and sandalwood give it a slightly masculine, airy lean while the sugar and amber sweeten it. Today, I first put the In the Stars lotion before spraying the mist. OMG! Delicious! It is gorgeous, elegant, and slightly sexy! The masculine leaning scent is gone, and instead I get warm, sugary amber with just a hint of the tangelo. I sprayed lightly and still got whiffs of it 4-6 hours in. It is addictive! In the early fall, I layered it with VS Bare Vanilla to give this a cozy depth. Also, I would consider layering this with a sweet coconut cream to bring out its warmth. Well done BBW! Please keep this scent and do not change it!

How did I go from hating this a few years ago to loving it now? I think my nose has changed. I used to smell like baby diapers and baby wipes and I could not understand what was liked about it. Last week I was in BBW and the new packaging caught my eye. Thought I would sniff it again. Wow! So pleasant and sophisticated. Sexy, anytime fragrance. I smell the amber, oud, sugar and tangelo. Now I know why it's a favorite I can see myself pairing this with so many others or on its own. I ended up leaving with my free moisturizing body wash to see if I could tolerate In the Stars after 3 years of hating. I'm in love. I ended up picking up the spray with a $4.95 sale.

I remember smelling this on my friend on day in class and I fell in love. I was expecting a expressive perfume brand but when I asked she told me it was bath and body works!! This honestly smells amazing considering the price point. The lotion also helps with the longevity and for the most part people can smell it pretty close by. It smells sweet but not like a “desert” sweet but more like sugar as it states in the notes. it also smells like wood too which I love! It can have a very alcohol opening (it’s bath and body works so...) To me it’s not too masculine (as a guy) but it’s not the most feminine fragrance and I would consider it unisex in my opinion.

This is lovely. I totally understand the BR540 comparisons - this is in the same family as scents of that nature. In The Stars, however, is a little bit juicier and smells a bit more like sweetened fruit instead of airy burnt sugar. Might be the tangelo note in there. Cheriosa 68 is a closer 540 clone if that's what you're looking for, but it doesn't last as long as In The Stars. I own all three of these fragrances and tested them all side by side to compare. In The Stars is an all around great fragrance for daily wear and would work great in any situation. A nice, musky, sweet crowd pleaser! 8.5/10

I love this, of all my br540 inspired perfumes this may well be my favorite. I find this to be so unique even for the scent profile that it belongs to. This is perfect for anyone who is not fond of sweet scents. It’s a sweet scent for those who hate sweetness. My only issue though is that I genuinely despise this on other people and I smell it frequently. Usually on others it has a faint note of the rankness in uncooked chicken. No idea why I detect this but it’s for that very reason I do not wear this outside my home because for all I know it smells just like that on me to others lol

My mom works at Nordstrom and has BR540. She sprayed it on my left shoulder and I immediately got transported back to my first vacation with my bf (now fiancé) November 2018. I was using this travel lotion bottle of In The Stars and I told her “this smells so much like this lotion I used to wear from BBW!” I have yet to show her for her to compare since she’s more of the perfume expert. Haha but yeah they’re both very similar but there is a difference. I think ITS is more sweet.

this perfume has seen me through THICK AND THINNN. i started wearing it during the pandemic, and it became a signature for me from freshman to junior year of high school. although my bottle smells a lot like rubbing alcohol now, newer bottles from the bbw smell like a perfect amber spray. would i wear this spray now? i fear i have better options, so maybe on occasion. however, will i always love this perfume? ABSOLUTELY!!

I came here to say exactly what the reviewer below me said! Cloud, BR450 and In The Stars share an airy quality but are ultimately all their own individual scents. IMO this is the fruitier, least synthetic smelling version of the three. Really beautiful. I doused myself in the glitter mist and someone told me I smell like a mango. Shout out Francis Kurkdjian for starting this perfumery trend, I love them all.

Delicious. Very close and reminiscent of BR540, and more alike, Cloud by AG. I am quite the fan of this on other people. First spray is very peppery, like someone placed cracked pepper under my nose. Then, shortly after, a gorgeous sweetness peaks through and stays at the forefront. My mother smells incredible with this on. It’s her signature scent. Surprisingly great longevity compared to other B&BW sprays.

When I first picked this up I thought it was a meh scent, nothing special or original about it. But I thought I'd get it and try it out, and at first when I sprayed it on it was still meh to me, but after it dried down it smelled very pretty. There was something really nice about this scent, it wasn't sickeningly sweet and had this nice mature vibe to it. Lasted on me for 5 hours.

Just like I remember. This smells so good. It’s pleasantly sweet. Not overly sweet like other fragrances like strawberry pound cake. This almost reminds me of a floral vanilla Amber Romance. It’s not the same obviously but it’s like in the same family. It’s a nostalgic smell with floral vanilla and a little woodys that balances it out and makes a pleasant comforting smell

Absolutely adore Bath & Body Works! This scent is beautiful, a combination of not only warm notes, But floral and spicy notes as well. I personally find this scent to more mature. But, wear what you want! After the dry down, I felt like this got a little more earthy “smelling” on my skin. But, personally I think that’s just my body chemistry. Totally Recommend! 10/10

I honestly find in the stars very different than other br540 DNA clones. if you have a strong sense of smell 👃 youll smell carpenter work or its straight up light-sweet-soft feminine musky fragrance that lingers in your senses. This scent has been so nostalgic to me, it lightens my mood up in an instant. i just wished it lasted well on me :,(

I remember the first time I met In The Stars. I was in freshmen year of high school and suddenly there was this extremely sweet, ambery and beautiful smell in the classroom so I got the name of the body mist from the girl who was spraying it. Ever since that day I love it, I don't even know how to describe it, it's just magical.

There's a woman at work, she's a smoker. She always smelled like nicotine and this. It's interesting how cigarette smell can be unpleasant, yet somehow, it wasn't offensive in this case. I don't smoke, I like the way this smells on its own. A very sweet citrusy fruit and woodsy/amber. It's very nice for a fragrance mist.

I didn't like this stuf at first but the more time I spent with it, the more I wanted 2 huff it. I get this super nice pink pepper-ish note despite it note being part of the formulation. I rlly like it layered with a warm vanilla or mayb even a sweet citrus. To be a B&BW fragrance, it feels preetyy gorgeous methinks!

I have a whole bunch of BBW scents, and I think this is probably my favourite. performance is obviously terrible its a mist and BBW is getting quite bad with whatever their performance used to be at all. but this ones really nice and yup, the BR540 resemblance is for sure there. sweet, woody and pretty - nice!

This is Ariana Grande Cloud perfume!! staying power of a normal body mist, but I've been searching for similar scents to layer with my AG cloud because I just love that creamy, coconutty scent profile!! it shares some common "DNA strands" with BR450, but it's not that scent whatsoever.

i love perfumes and sprays with notes of amber and it really comes through in this. it blends so well with oud that it comes off kind of vanilla floral-ish but that may be the powder scent coming in too. my favorite scent from bath and body works, you can never go wrong with it.

I like bath and body works scents but to me they often smell like room sprays, etc. Now this scent..... so so amazing! It’s one scent I never get over or sick of, it’s sexy and mature but also warm and just so good! I really wish they would bring back the actual perfume though!

This smells delicious I like to smell it on my spouse so I convinced him to wear it, sweet and woodsy so a gentleman can easily pull this off , gingham gorgeous is the feminine twin , life of the party is also very similar but more airy less woody and less sweet

It's sugary amber with a touch of fruitiness. An instant mood changer and it's affordable. I don't see the resemblance to any of the perfumes listed below, but if yall insist it smells like BR540 might as well get this instead. It's a fraction of the price lol

I get the BR540 vibes with this, which is a very popular scent.I love into the stars, I have the shower gel ,and the body lotion , and I pair it with the BR540 body oil. The shower gel, and body lotion projects pretty well on its own.

One of my fav bbw scents ever. I always get compliments on it. It has some the best projection out of all bbw mists. It does have the same DNA as baccarat and cloud but it’s a bit more peppery.(I think they reformulated it tho 😔)

I must admit that I also purchased this for my husband and he smells delicious and sexy wearing this and he has received ton's of compliment's and last all day. All I can say is this is a must have for anybody!

Bought this because it smells just like my dad's fancy 200 dollar cologne. Love it! Super complex and musky for a body spray, smells totes expensive despite being 20 dollars.

bought this while visiting family in indiana, couldn't wear it until I got home and I fell all the way in LOVE. Definitely an amber scent with sweet notes. Kinda musky.

I've had this in different forms now throughout the years. Fine fragrance mists, body lotion, hand cream and shower gel. I've seen a couple of comments and such about how this is weaker now, and the only reason I think it would be is if you compare this to the actual perfume (if you were lucky enough to grab it). There's been a lot of reformulations with B&BW scents, but I just personally don't feel like this has taken a hit at all, it's still strong and the notes are all intact. I can't tell a difference between older and newer bottles. It's sparkling and has that special BR540 magic that Cloud, 7 Summers, Her and other spinoff/dupe fragrances have. Despite how insanely ubiquitous this has become, the scent profile is still as special and gripping to me as ever. I don't care how many people wear stuff like this, I'll always find it intoxicating. Not everyone smells or detects the sparkles ✨️, but if you're fortunate enough to...this is an absolute no-brainer. It's so, so affordable, and smells FAR more expensive than it is. It's such a clean oud and delicious citrus, I find this more enjoyable than Cloud (but I do love that too), this is my runner up for BR540. Although this is one of the less expensive dupes, I think it's classier, it's better than 7 Summers to my nose. BR540 itself still has more undeniable woody elegance and saffron; this is more gummy and less bougie overall, but it's still fantastic. I can see why some people think it's masculine, but honestly....it's so glamorous that it just seems like it's made for women who feel like going all out 💄💃 Some days I wash my hair with the shower gel (the men's 2-in-1 stuff is marketed as shampoo/body wash and it's the same formula...so...) and the fragrance will last in my hair for at least 24 hours. It makes my entire bathroom smell ridiculous 😍 Or, sometimes I'll just just a dab of hand cream and it projects like crazy. The fragrance mist operates nearly like an EDP, and this is definitely one of the heavier hitters from B&BW. I gave away a backup bottle because I truly don't believe I'll ever need it. This style isn't for everyone, but if you love it, you love it. In the Stars makes my eyes roll back...

I have tested it in BBW store before boycott, one of BBW best sellers, warm Amber Musk sandalwood base notes with sugar and a hint soft note of Oud. This fragrance you can wear it at night if you prefer mature fragrances in winter and Autums seasons, hence, this fragrance performance like as perfumes performance not as mists, very feminine fragrance and I think it's very suitable for occasions, don't be afraid of Oud here isn't annoying or sharp absolutely it's very soft also almost unnoticeable. This does smell and project incredibly well for a body spray. I’m personally not a fan of BR540, even though I have the extrait, Cloud, Red temptation and probably five middle eastern dupes in my collection. Honestly, this one is the least assaulting to my nose. It’s kind of a peppery woody scent with some sweetness in the background. What’s noticeable is it doesn’t have a prominent saffron note which I think is what wears like cold harsh metal on my skin. Some smell it as sweet and airy, but it never smells anything like this on my skin. In this, it has been replaced with a sugar note. I finally can smell sweetness due to this swap, rather than cold metal. It still isn’t my favorite scent profile, but this is one of the more wearable scents in this type of fragrance. I actually like that it’s just a body spray. It’s just the right strength for me on this, all the edp versions are too strong for me. I think early spring and fall are the best seasons for this but it can be worn in any season.

I used to have this scent, and in my opinion, this is the longest lasting scent from Bath and Body Works. Definitely a popular one for sure, but I will never get sick of it. I've smelt it on many people, and the trail that this scent leaves behind is AMAZING. Just saying, this is the PERFECT scent for layering. I honestly just miss the days that I've had this scent. I love it's bold and dark yet sweet aroma that it has to it. This hands down has to be not only the longest lasting scent by Bath and Body Works, but my favourite one by them too. The lasting power should last you a solid 5-6 hours, if not more if this is sprayed enough. It definitely is more suitable towards the night time and colder months, and is the perfect scent for a special occasion. I like that this is affordable, because you don't need to overspend money on fragrances in order to smell good. So, if you're looking for something that is not extremely strong as a perfume, but is affordable, this is your go to scent!

This is my coworkers favorite scent from Bath and Bodyworks. I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not a fan of oud. Everything I've smelled with oud in it, I have not liked. This is no exception. It just smells... So strange to me for some reason. I'm really picky when it comes to woods anyway, something about it is so... medicinal, cold, unapproachable. I bought the set for my coworker for her birthday, and the more I'm sitting here smelling it and trying to convince myself that I like it, the more I realize I do not like this at all. At this rate, I'm scared to try baccarat! If you like those types of scents, you will really like this. It's a decent price point, the packaging is pretty... It's just not for me. Edit: I see that people have compared this to tease creme cloud... I own that fragrance, and they smell absolutely nothing alike. Just an FYI.

wow, this is nice! a lot of the most hyped bbw fragrances end up disappointing me, but this one hits the spot. the opening is very peppery and perfume-like, and the drydown has that br540/cloud/her dna of that ozonic sweetness--even the notes look like those of an actual perfume rather than a body spray. this is the kind of sweet fragrance that could be unisex, so it's great for people like me that generally aren't a fan of tooth-acheingly sweet, fruity, candy-like scents. i wouldn't necessarily call it a safe blind buy since i imagine some people might not like the peppery opening, but if u want a mist that smells high-end, this is it. longevity and projection are very solid for a mist too!

This is one I would always re-buy. It's different in a way because it's not a straight up fruity, floral, sweet sort type but it does have the BR540 vibe going on so I can't say it's unlike anything else I have. BR540 started a trend and I do have a few wannabes and dupes now. That's not to say In The Stars is a dupe. It is a really attractive, all around good scent for anything or anytime. I don't get a lot of fruit in it, it leans more to the woody-amber side. When you get it at the sales it's such an incredible deal for the price. Quality is excellent, it lasts all day, at least for me when I'm using the shower gel and lotion. This is one I really enjoy.

One of my besties is unhauling a good amount of her Bath & Body Works fragrances that she never used and offered to send them to me! This is the second and final of two in the third shipment she's sent my way. (She also sent me the body lotion of this fragrance.) I wasn't super impressed by the body mist, but I did enjoy the body lotion. In the mist, I feel like the amber and sugar notes are amplified with the woods being a bit more in the background, but the body lotion had the opposite. I much preferred the sweetened wood smell. It honestly reminded me a bit of a more feminine leaning Your Turn by Billie Eilish.
