In The Sun

I randomly thought about this scent a couple of months ago and reminisced about how much I LOVED it when it came out. I was truly obsessed with this fragrance and was working at BBW during its release. While my coworkers were going bonkers for At The Beach, I was busy drooling over this one. This has got to be one of the best uses of Neroli that I have ever come across, and I’m a huge Neroli fan and have smelled many. The touch of orange blossom and sandalwood just help to ground the neroli note and make it shine even more. At times, it’s reminiscent of a gorgeous tiare flower, but that’s also because tiare is in a similar category to these types of white florals. It’s sexy, it’s fun, it’s giving tanned sparkling skin in the sun, it’s giving golden hour goddess, and it’s giving summer hottie. I have no idea why BBW discontinued this one and left that basic ass At The Beach. The nutjob in me hunted down a bottle of the body spray and I was able to get one for a good price off eBay. Part of me wants to secure any decently priced bottle that I can find because it’s just that delicious. If BBW was to bring any one of their scents back, I think it should be this one for sure.

In the Sun features a convincing and natural smelling green neroli accord bound to a flat innocuous and diluted orange-aid fruity heart anchored by a hint of synthetic salty wood. As B&BW scents go, this one smells more natural and higher quality than average. It’s nothing outstanding but it’s very pleasant especially when it’s a zillion degrees outside and you’re in the mood for something very casual and summery. It’s also a good transition fragrance out of the realm of BB&W and into true quality neroli fragrances like Zagara from Santa Maria Novella.

BRING THIS BACK!!!! This is the most unique, underrated, sophisticated and longest lasting scent I’ve ever bought from bath and body works. Every time I see someone reselling it for a fair price I try to pick it up. If you want a SUMMER sandalwood scent, THIS IS IT. It smells like a sexy beach day wrapped in delicate flower bushes. Like a Malibu Barbie but much better. Part of me wants to gate keep this absolute summer dream scent but part of me also knows the world deserves the perfect summer fragrance. Bath and body works.... just bring it back already!

My mother got this as a gift on her birthday pre covid 19. Its been lying here at home for a while now and I never bothered spraying it and by gosh I've been sitting on a gem of a fragrance. Its got this 🍊 orange/tangerine vibe when it starts off then it becomes a beautiful white floral scent. I like layering this with Hindi oud. It gives the rather harsh oud a touch of cleanliness ans poise that it lacks.

I can with confidence say that this is one of the only B&BW scents that I consider worth the money buying. Three simple notes that smell high-quality, summer-ready and not teeny bopper-ish. A well-balanced fragrance that could pass off as "real perfume". But of course, this was discontinued. I think it's funny that B&BW takes down gems, but hangs onto Japanese Cherry Blossom for dear life.

I cannot believe they discontinued this one already. It was the only BBW that I actually enjoyed. Warm, dry, Orange blossoms, on a bed of stabilizing sandalwood. sometimes i would get hints of but spray but i loved it anyway. It almost reminds me of TF's Soleil Blanc so maybe that's why i loved it

I've had this since its release, I love it! My absolute favorite fragrance to wear to the beach and on a blustery, sunny day with a nice free-flowing dress! One of my absolute favorite B&BWs' releases--period! This is a safe blind buy to enjoy throughout the summer.

I just love this one, I'm so glad a bought an extra bottle when it was released because it's discontinued. So fresh, femenine and kinda expensive smell to be a fragrance mist. I beg BBW to re release it or maybe dupe it

Of EVERYTHING from B&BW, I’m going to miss this one the most 🥲 The most perfect summer floral. It’s super bright and citrus-y and has that SLIGHT undertone of sunscreen 😍

I love the perfume version paired with the body cream for summer. The scent reminds me of a light summer flanker of Alien. I bought two little bottles of the perfume, not body spray, in 2018 which is the year it released. I sprayed the first one I had opened today, which has about a third left, and 100% it has turned. Like the reviewer below mentioned, it indeed has a strong urine/urea base which took over the whole scent. I opened my backup bottle to see if it too had turned and it's as good as new thankfully. Woo hoo! Love it. I tossed the old bottle and will try to use up the freshly opened one this summer. If kept over a year or "in the sun" it will turn unpleasant. So, keep In The Sun "out of the sun" and don't try to store an opened bottle for too long. For some reason the unopened, unused one kept well, even though both were stored in the same dark box and purchased at the same time. Side note; the perfume version of At The Beach didn't turn. I also have an opened and unopened backup of it and the used one is great. Smells more coconutty than before, if anything.

I've had my bottle of this fragrance since release and it was my favorite scent in high school. It really does smell like summer in a bottle. To me, it reminds me of laying out on the beach with sunscreen trying to get a tan. The opener is Neroli and even on dry down, I find the scent sticks around. If you like Neroli as a complement in perfume but not one of the stand alone notes, I don't think you'll like this fragrance. The only transgression I think some people might have with it is that it can lean a little sunscreeny but that's simply because of the orange blossom interacting with the sandalwood. However the dry down is more floral and I don't get any of the sunscreen smell after around hour 2. Both the sillage and longevity is moderate, as expected from a BBW product. If you're a fan of TF fragrances, I think you'll find this smells extremely similar to Soleil Blanc but without the nuttiness. This is a more affordable option to TF but the profile is less developed so if you want the full beach experience I'd recommend going with the original.

I agree with trevorstilerocks. This smells way more luxurious than most body sprays. It has a complexity that I don’t find too often with B&BW or VS. I am sure there’s some musk in this even though it’s not listed. In The Sun smells similar to Knot by Botega Veneta to me. The neroli is done perfectly. It’s not a powerhouse neroli that leans overly unisex or male. It’s pretty well balanced by the citrus and sandalwood/musk. It lasts for an impressive amount of time on the skin also and layers well with my beachy scents. So sad they axed this one. At The Beach is a pretty good option that seems to be more available. That one is more of a salty coconut milk scent, they’re not dupes. In terms of complexity and longevity, they are top tier particularly for B&BW.

Such a shame this is discontinued. It has a primal edge and absolutely sings in the heat. It's both simplistic and deep, as I find that it really changes from one individual to another. The neroli & sandalwood combo renders it pretty unisex. It smells like your skin after tanning outside (not in a weird way, in a sexy/effortless way). This one isn't impressive out of the bottle at all, you really need to wear it before you settle into an opinion.

I ordered this body mist from ebay. Initial spray was offputting becuase it smelled vaguely like a medicinal mint like a pepto bismol type of minty scent. What I realized is that the scent was actually the blast of neroli that was smelling like this to my nose. I do like this after the minty (to my nose) smell goes away. Neroli heavy though, so if you aren't a fan of that particular note, don't blind buy this one.

Summer in a bottle. A scent that makes me feel like I'm at a beach house about to go lounge around by the pool. It's creamy, floral without being heady, with just a touch of something juicy. A bit of a "sunscreen" scent, in such a gorgeous way. edit: okay, my mom described this as smelling like "public bathroom handsoap" and now i can't un-smell that 😭

Bath & Body finally release a sexy-oh-wow scent & rapidly snatch it back!! WTF?! Why would they do this? Really, I'm asking because I can't find anything online about this. I don't usually buy their "fragrances" but IN THE SUN was brilliant for its "classification." The orange blossoms/neroli marriage is one of my favorite collabs & I just couldn't believe how sensual a scent emerged from a "soap & candle" shop! Without trying to wax poetic about it, I've added a few neroli scents to buy at the airport -where I buy fragrance without remorse.

This smells like TF neroli portofino on the drydown, but the intial spray does reminds me of Jo Malone's Orange blossom. Imagine 2 distinct classy perfumes in one bottle. Definitely a bang on a buck. If you have TF or JM, you can just spray 2 bits of it on the neck and spray In the sun lavishly in you body. It creates a wonderful blend. Sadly, BBW likes fruits, sweet type scents. This one of the few gems hidden in the BBW arsenal of sweet-smelling perfumes.

This one is amazing. I have the body spray, body lotion and shower gel. And I bought each for 3$ on sale. This is a warm orange blossom and neroli scent with a hint of sandalwood. Extremely classy and elegant. I wish they did not discontinue this gem, one of the few worthy scents by BBW.

Saw this come up in the reviews moments after I put it on! loll. It's a bit like Tom Ford Neroli Portofino with the citrus dialed way down. The lotion is even more floral than the body mist. Also less "orange juice" than Jo Malone Orange Blossom, though it is similar as well.

A high quality body mist that doesn't smell like bbw but rather a perfume. Reminds me of Tom Ford neroli portofino and Jo Malone orange blossom rolled into one.

It honestly has very little Neroli smell to it. It is mostly Lil of the Valley! I can smell the Muguet in this.
