Java Bloom

This little gem is not so much a java perfume, at least on me, than it is a less expensive little sister of Tom Ford's Tabacco Vanille without the chai tea vibe. It starts with a mocha java quality but quickly the woods kick in and the spiciness makes it lean more towards something akin to vanilla on a base of tabacco with the vanilla becoming stronger as it softens. Longevity and sillage are both good. Much like Tom Ford TV however, I don't see myself wearing this out, but I will at home. I think it's a unisex fragrance that may well smell lovely on a man (although my husband won't let me spray it on him so I'll just have to wonder). If you're a fan of Tom Ford TV than you will probably enjoy this.

Now that I have a backup bottle on the way, I thought it was time to share my opinion of Java Bloom. I agree with c3c it is a jewel; or for me the nasal equivalent of a very ornate tiara a la Queen Elizabeth. I bought this blind off the net for quite cheap because 1) I was intrigued by the note profile and 2) c3c's review. I have very eclectic tastes but not a lot of money. Just like hundreds of other perfume junkies out there I was hoping to luck onto something inexpensive and fantastic. Wowsers, I had no idea that I would find B & B Works Java Bloom so amazing and unique. I tried TF Tobacco Vanille ages ago, and so I have nothing in clear, recent memory to compare this to but I am now really hooked on Java Bloom. The first spray starts with what I can only describe as something slightly tart, but also simultaneously a very warm, fragrant coffee with a breath of cedar.['/[ 410. There's also an underlying note similar to a dense cocoa/tuber scent, and then the tart note dissipates quickly. It doesn't smell a lot like tobacco to me, but my reference comes from numerous childhood memories of opening my grandfather's humidor full of pipe tobacco, burying my nose inside and taking deep sniffs. JB is a bit sweet, not obnoxiously so, and I get some pleasant woody notes, possibly tonka bean which I love.. At this point I can't concentrate on analysis anymore because of an overwhelming urge to drench myself in this utterly addictive scent and find some woods in which to run about as an intoxicated maenad. If my last drops were spilled on the carpet, I'm not sure I could stop myself from rolling in it. I sense something floral, maybe it's tobacco flower; and a nice vanilla too. I find the combination entrancing. The drydown has some smokiness, and less of the sweet and floral. Normally I have real difficulty keeping some scents on my skin, even using lotion as a base. Java Bloom has very good longevity on me; when applied at bedtime I can still perceive it on my skin or clothes in the morning. It is an eau de toilette, but for me works more as an eau de parfum. For me, the Yumminess factor is off the charts.
