Jolly Gingerbread Village

Warm spicy eh sort of... but vanilla, no, not like you'd expect, just a moderate smooth sweetness. This smells like a drunk chimney (spilled martini near the fireplace) with burnt gingerbread haha. I actually like it. Timber? More like the whole pine forest, at first at least, which I LOVE. It could have been more original as I am smelling a bit of Moonlit Martini in this.. it has a drunk alcoholic vibe and then some of the White Pumpkin Chai spice.... I'm into green, nutty scents and I love Sleigh Rides & Snuggles from years ago because it was green, nutty and weird with the balsam and the vanilla bourbon. I expected this to be along those lines, but it's not as green/balsamic. It definitely has that bitter burnt smokey scent to it that many BBW mists seem to have lately - see Wild Sand - and when I smell my skin I'm getting that smokey slightly bitter scent similar to that in Moonlit Martini, but a lot more subtle here and which I also smell in Wild Sand (without the alcoholic note there). The opening is my favorite and I wish it lasted throughout because it's subtly sweet, but very peppery, fresh, woody and green almost minty like a real pine tree so reminiscent of Celebrate by peppe jeans in a way and once it settles I get more of the warmer fizzy ginger spice, discreet vanilla sweetness, without the sugared bread part lol, a touch of the initial green vibe and the subtle smokiness that seems to be what's left of that beautiful peppery opening which I wanted to last longer. At the projection it really smells like I'm wearing white pumpkin and chai and moonlit martini at the same time, for real. One star off cuz I'm not into Moonlit Martini even tho I wear it sometimes and cuz I wanted more of the opening foresty notes deep into the drydown. The packaging should have green colors with some golden orange. The gingerbread is not a bakery-type of sweet gourmand note, but it would ruin the foresty vibe. I do smell a village tho! The chimneys work overtime in the winter where I live. I'm also into manly scents so as u know by now if u want a feminine bakery scent look elsewhere. I am one of the few weirdos that love this.

I saw a YouTuber (rebarenee7) say something along the lines of that this was more of a calorie counters gourmand scent and I think she described it perfectly by saying that. It’s not as sugary sweet, but it’s a beautiful spicy scent that can still satisfy your gingerbread sweet tooth. Yes, it’s mixed with that woody note, but the gingerbread is definitely there. The dry down is extremely woody with just a bit of spice, but someone would still be able to smell the gingerbread on you. To my nose the gingerbread note is more of a ground ginger scent, with a thin crunchy base. I absolutely adore gourmands and have a bunch, but this one is a beautiful addition to my collection where I don’t want something overpoweringly syrupy sweet. It’s quite unique and personally love the spin on gourmand scents. I think you could layer this with almost anything to give it a fall/winter touch. I don’t see myself wearing this during summer or spring unless I was to feel transported to the holiday season. It’s very light I must say, you have to spray a ton. My bottle is about two weeks old and I’m half way through already 🤎 jolly gingerbread is the fasted I’ve ever gone through a bottle. I wanted to also say, this is just about the coziest scent I own. I spray it on in the mornings while getting breakfast together, make my coffee, and wrap myself in this comforting gingerbread scent. I also love it for night time, it just makes relaxing on the couch so much more enjoyable. 🎄 ☕️ 🍪 🪵 🏕️ 🍁

I just don't understand all the hate for this one. Is it gourmand? No... but from the key notes listed, we should have known that. Golden gingerbread, vanilla icicles, and yuletide timber. The icicles and timber are a dead giveaway that we aren't going to smell like a snack with this one. I purchased all the holiday scents this season and this was the one that I used throughout the season. Besides just opening to smell the other holiday scents, I never cracked them open again, so I ended up just returning them when I went to SAS. Then I bought 4 of each product in JGV because this will probably be discontinued from all the flack it received and that makes me sad because I loved this one. It's a bright gingerbread that you smell. By no means is it a sugary, icing-covered, gingerbread cookie. It's fresh and zingy, has some spice with comforting, yet cool vanilla, and the woods... Delicious in it's own right, not in an edible way, but sexy way. I love layering with this scent, especially the body cream. There's so much versatility with it, too. Take it gourmand with Angel's Share, sweeten/darken it up with some Lost Cherry, or my current obsession, relaxing comfort with Whispers in the Library. I'll be sad to see this one go, but at least I stockpiled enough to enjoy for the next couple of years.

i know a lot of people are hating on this fragrance because it's not a gourmand, but this is absolutely delicious. it's not quite gourmand, but it's still really sweet and cozy. the cinnamon and vanilla come through a lot in the opening but the drydown is mostly just sweet, smooth woodiness with a little bit of creaminess and spice. it could even be a unisex scent for those that don't mind the sweetness. if you tend to enjoy spicy, woody unisex fragrances, this is a relatively safe blind buy imo. personally, i used to wear spicebomb as a unisex scent and loved it with my body chemistry--this is in a similar cinnamon-forward vein, but lighter and sweeter, so if you enjoy fragrances like that but want something a little less masculine and more airy, this is perfect. and yes, this is very, very similar to ginger biscuit! people made the timber note out to sound really sharp and jarring, but on me at least, it's sweet, creamy, smooooooth goodness. projection is weaker than i'd expect for such a spicy mist but the longevity is solid.

OH MY GOSH. This is it! This is the ultimate bedtime fragrance. I listened to the bath & body works website reviews saying that this smells just like vanilla, fake gingerbread and its very sweet, so I bought it expecting that. Although that was wrong, it is more woody, spicy, and herbal with a nice warmth, much like a real gingerbread with heavy presence of evergreen. It's a good mixing of feminine and masculine fragrance qualities. This honestly just smells like my boyfriend embracing me in a deep hug haha It's warm but not overpowering. Making it the perfect bedtime scent, I wear this on my stomach to help me fall asleep. This smells like the outside forest of a jolly gingerbread village, the sweetness is distant but you can still see the glow of the festive town. I personally think this is best in body creme form, the notes set better if they're absorbed into the skin.
