Lost in Santal

A personal top 5 B&BW ffm of all-time! Finally, a break from BBW's over saturation of fruity—florals that 90% lean WAY too sweet and girly for me; a Millennial broad. If ppl would actually test this on skin, they would wake up to reality: none of this is spray or aerosol cleaner, OR pickles. This base is quite warm, very novice–friendly, and I'm pleasantly reminded of the queue line of "E.T.s Adventure" ride at Universal ORL. [If ya know, ya know]. Their nothing like that realistic forest scene that queue line scent. Before that base hits nastalgia like above-described, the cardamom top note needs to dissipate, but y'all know B&BW ffm's— they only last 20 mins; any longer than that, you've completely drowned yourself to make it the half hr mark🤙 As American consumers, we know to only purchase from B&BW on SAS's, right? Right. Their Everyday Lux Collection rocks tho. Theirs a handful of gems in it😎

Upon the initial spray, you are hit with a strong note of cardamom and sandalwood. And it is perfect; think of the opening of Santal 33, a creamy and sweet sandalwood that pairs excellently with the cardamon, adding more depth to the spice. If you are a fan of Santal 33, this should be an easy pick-up for you. The body spray is very close to the original, just a tad sweeter upon the initial spay. The aroma projects very well for the first five minutes. After five minutes, the aroma gets closer to the skin, lasting well over two hours. I know this doesn't sound good for longevity, but you have to remember this is a body spray concentration, and it's designed for casual use.

I haven’t smelled Santal 33, but I own both Lost in Santal (Bath & Body Works) and No. 04 de Balincourt (Maison Louis Marie), and they’re quite similar. Lost in Santal opens sweeter, fruitier, and slightly more powdery, while No. 04 is woodier, drier, and spicier. The overall scent profile is very close, with that familiar creamy sandalwood base. Layering them works well. Lost in Santal softens No. 04’s dryness, while No. 04 adds more depth to Lost in Santal.

Just got this today and I can say Lost in Santal is one of Bath and Body Works best scents it's really unique and unisex, I actually bought this because it's also being compared to Katy Perry's INDI parfum (which is my signature scent) and I didn't regret buying this because yes they do really share the same scent profile especially on their dry down, both scents are warm, creamy and cozy. 💚

This is such an unexpected and high quality scent from Bath and Body Works. It really is just a straightforward cardamom and sandalwood fragrance, but if you like those notes, you’ll be impressed — and personally, I love it. Layering with this will add a touch of luxury to any fragrance you’re wearing. It lasts all day on clothes and a few hours on skin.

This is the best of any Santal dupe I've smelled. No pickle detected here (thank God). This is such a nice WOODY, milky, and smooth scent!! It just tickles my brain right. When spraying the paper in the store I was intrigued, but not sure I loved it. Now, wearing it, I am in love. BBW did a great job with this one.

I was expecting to hate this because a lot of people say that it smells like pickles to them. However, it smelled like creamy and sweet milk when I tried it on my skin. It even smells more like milk than BBW Milk which has a tiny bit of sour fruitiness to my nose. I love it but longetivity and projection are weak.

I really like how androgynous this scent is. Did not expect to love this and wasn't seeking the Santal DNA I do wish it lasted longer. Regardless, I do enjoy layering w my more masc leaning scents

Not creamy. Warm. Like a tree bark giving u a hug. On the other side, like pickle lol. Layer with some woody products. compliment getter!

It’s a nice herbal, woodsy fragrance. Totally unisex. I’ve never used Santal 33 but I did smell the Le Monde Gourmand dupe. Lost in Santal is more mellow and even a the tiniest bit sweet. Some of the Santal fragrances out there do smell sour and pickley, but this one does not, at least not on me. It smells like a walk in the woods. If you want it to last, spray it in your hair, because like any body mist, it may not last all that long on your skin. I layered it with my VS Bombshell yesterday and it worked really well together, bringing out the pine base notes in Bombshell. I’m interested in finding a vanilla that layers well with Lost in Santal, too, because when I smell cardamom all I can think of is chai!

While most B&BW Body Mist's are advertised for women, this one in particular definitely fits the Unisex category. I love Sandalwood, and this has such a deep woodsy smell. Since it's release this is what I grab and spray on before bed, and since it is simply a body mist the smell does not linger overnight, you can overspray and not worry about your pillow or blanket retaining the smell. B&BW has also been heavy on the sales and with the Holidays coming up, if you can pick this up for under $6, it's a damn steal. I got 5 bottles lol.

I usually prefer sweeter or more floral scents but the spiciness of this one grabbed me. I sampled in-store because I was curious about the association with Santal 33, which has been hyped a LOT. Can’t speak to how they compare, but I do really like this BBW fragrance mist “copy.” It’s woodsy and spicy, with a sexy edge. I’m detecting a slight pale santo note which reminds me of Eilish 2 (gray bottle). This is super evocative of fall to me, but I could also see it working in winter and spring. Very sophisticated unisex scent.

I tested this at BB&W today and found it super pleasant, something cozy and aromatic that I would definitely enjoy wearing because of the notes. Had no idea about the Santal 33 association, never tried it because it's too popular and a budget buster for me. OK, I admit it, I'm afraid I would like Santal 33, lol. Putting Lost in Santal on the Christmas list. And yes, I don't have expectations of the Sandalwood in this being in the same realm as vintage Samsara.

Okay now this actually smells REALLY good, great quality for a mist and so close to Santal 33. Unisex straight down the middle. BUT - I will say I would probably only purchase this if it had a matching lotion or body cream to layer with it, because of the longevity only being an hour long of wear if that. Overall, this is super good smelling though.

I mostly pick up on a sweet cardamom note once it dries down. Very low staying power but well within expectations for a BBW spray. Satisfied with purchase for the price point.

A sweeter / musky version of Le Labo Santal 33. If you want a Santal 33 identical equivalent without the price tag try Sand Service by Cra-Yon 💯

Quite similar to Santal 33 to my nose but fresher. Great fresh out the bath scent. Lasted on my skin over 2 hours.

Cardamon in a bottle. This is the scent to buy to learn if you truly like that note tbh. I like it.

I like this one! It's something simple I can put on as an everyday scent.

I finally understand what bothered me about this, besides the name. (Who wants to be lost? But "lost in a dream" can be nice so I guess that's OK.) It's incomplete. It feels like it's missing florals and maybe other things. And it is. It's supposed to be a dupe of Santal 33 but it's missing the leather, papyrus, iris, violet, and amber. But, having only cardamom and base notes might make this good for layering. The same manufacturer also has a fragrance called Sunwashed Santal which does not have a sandalwood note, but has bergamot, violet, and amberwood, which hit 2 of the things missing from Lost in Santal. I think they may make one complete perfume when layered together.

A "satin" note?? What is that even supposed to smell like? Good grief. I can't say I'm loving this, it smells more green than woody to me. Much heavier on the cardamom than the sandalwood, to my nose. I think this smells very unisex, maybe even leaning a bit masculine. More fresh than sexy. Honestly, pretty cheap smelling, at least on me. (I bought 4 from this collection and that's the common thread.) I can't compare it to Santal 33, but if mixed with something vanilla, might smell like Zara's Vanilla Vibration.

I do get a little bit of dill pickle coming through, but once this dries down it's not as noticeable. This is such a warm, spicy-but-fresh, hug of a scent. It's not really that feminine, but it does kinda make me feel sexy when I wear it. Definitely versatile. And honestly, it's genuinely impressive how good this is for how inexpensive it is. It's worth a try, and definitely worth a cop when it's on sale.

This Santal is subtly sweet and smoothly spicy. However it is Lost in less than 30 minutes from my skin. I use it on my hair and heavily on my clothes with sandalwood perfume; Sensuous, Samsara, Dune, Dolce Vita and Liam. I don’t have Santal 33 (almost impossible to find in my country) but I hope it performs much better than this one, at least for it’s price.

I got this body mist thinking it was a beautiful woody scent with something that almost smells royal. Yet a few seconds later when you go back to smelling it. It literally just smells like soap like you can barely smell it. It smells heavily alcoholic when you first pray it. The woody smell only lasts a few seconds then simmers away. Really disappointing

There's a sweet coconut or maybe a weird solar note to this. Not a great dupe for Santal 33, but still smells okay. No staying power, it's gone in 15 minutes. Returned.

Decided to try some cheap body sprays as Bath n Body had a sale buy 3 / get 3 free, there was a coupon, and I used to love Sandalwood Rose to pieces but now they don't make it anymore. his was a joke for it being Sandalwood. I have a genuine bottle of Egyptian Sandalwood and also Mysore Sandalwood. It's not even close so I guess that the Sandalwood really is lost in there somewhere. I'm so glad that I never bought Lelabo Santal 33 if this is a dupe for it. This one can serve it's time as bathroom spray. It's not bad, it doesn't last on the skin, and I am not impressed with either the opening or dry down and I do not detect Sandalwood.

I tried to like this, really. I took it home for a couple of weeks and tried it alone, and in combination with some other body sprays I have. Some have mentioned pickle juice, and I totally see how that association fits at first spray. On dry down it becomes very woody as the name suggests. But, I find the woodiness to smell almost "weedy", similar to the smell of weed-eating thick stalks of weeds in the summer. It really has an unpleasant undertone that I can't get past. It was decent paired with a lighter fruity or floral scent, but not enough to warrant it taking up space in my collection. Returned.

I bought this thinking it would have a decent sillage or longevity. It's ridiculous. It doesn't last 5 minutes. Once the alcohol wears away, nothin'. I bought this on a buy 3 get 3 for free. I'm a total sucker. I have other BBW scents that have decent lasting power. This smells just like lelabo santal 33, IN THE BOTTLE. That's where it ends. I guess I can give the sprays away as gifts?!?! A total waste of money. I'm a sucker.

This smells oddly sweet. And it’s typical of BBW fragrances to be sweet, but the way the sweetness was done, especially in this woody-aromatic scent profile smells very off-putting to me.

Well, I've finally had my first "this perfume smells like pickle juice" experience lol 😅 Even trying to look past the pickle, it just smells a bit odd and unappealing to me.

This is repugnant and ruined Santal 33 for me. It is similar, but more sour, and it has exaggerated all the notes. The funk that I never noticed about Santal 33 that people have been complaining about, I smelled it all here. I finally understand what is meant by the pickle juice smell. I smelled this BBW rendition while shopping at a bookstore. It prevailed the air, and I was gagging the whole time, and I knew it was this because I had specifically went to BBW to try it on, and I was so disappointed, I logged it into my memory. Not sure if I want to keep my bottle of Santal 33 now...

I purchased Lost In Santal from eBay about a month ago, and absolutely LOVE IT! The sandalwood has just enough of a bite without being overpowering, and the cardamom & cedarwood is nice too. It's been said on here (for those who actually*like* the scent) that it is somewhat similar to Santal 33, which I've never smelt. And I also get the "pickle" note (which I'm thinking maybe it's the cardamom note that I've seen in a jar of Vlasic pickles?) and that same note I've smelt in Tom Ford Black Orchid. They blend well together, IMO. This also blends well with Kayali Oudgasm Tobacco Oud (again this is my opinion, it's not set in stone lol). Too bad they don't have the body wash or lotion. However, I will buy two more bottles of this sexy scent.

Smells like nude soleil kkw - a fav of mine- and Santal Supreme of Le monde Gourmand. I love this type of herbal soft spicy scent it's well done and I adore anything with cardamom. It's very herbal and woody, just dreamy to me. Together weather also has cardamom but it is a lot sweeter - no cooked fruit element here. Also Febreze Serene Snowfall smells almost identical, but slightly minty too. The most complex one in this woody cardamom kinda herbal genre is KKW Nude Soleil.

Don't know about what other people say on here but this actually has decent lasting power for a body mist. The sillage is there and definitely lasts on clothes. Just don't expect perfume level of staying power and projection. Scent-wise, this is not my most favorite as I am a gourmand, sweet girl. This, to me, is a neutral scent. Can't say about how this compares to Le Labo Santal 33 as I have not tried that one before. However, on its own, it's a good woody scent.

This mist delivers the captivating opening of Crystal Noir and maintains that lovely feel throughout, which my nose greatly appreciates. The woody and subtly spiced aroma is simply wonderful. I especially like that it's not overpowering or cloying, making it a versatile fragrance I can enjoy in any weather, unlike certain perfumes that become overwhelming in warmer temperatures.

I never got the pickle note until it was mentioned. Otherwise, it's different. And I like pickles. And occasionally find myself in a bit of a pickle. Right now Santal 33 is only 30 dollars on eBay. Maybe. I may return this body spray and get a bottle. OR a ton more of Coconut 2024 which smells like Shea butter. IDK..

Straight up reminds me of Santal 33 - the dry wood feeling that gives me a headache. I prefer somewhat like creamy sandalwood, and this is too dry to my liking. So if you don't like the harsh dryness of Santal 33, skip this, no regret. But if you like Santal 33, I think this is close enough & budget-friendly.

It’s funny how many people think we’re crazy when we smell pickle! Here’s another that has the dill note, lol. I kind of got a b.o. vibe too. It’s better at the dry down. I layered it with BBW Autumn Drive, that was nice. I don’t care for the opening so I won’t be purchasing.

This is 1000% Santal 33. It’s not my personal scent preference, but it’s definitely a spot on dupe for anyone who enjoys Santal 33 or anything similar.

I use this as a room spray in my living room and it’s so good! Lasts longer on linens than skin for sure. Wish I could still get it as it’s almost gone

Oh my god this smells like Shreks pits. This is so nasty. A girl I know loves this perfume and she literally does not shower ong.
