Lovely Dreamer

For the longest time I avoided smelling this scent whenever I went in BBW because I don't typically like musk, woods or iris. However, I decided to do a sniff exploration during a recent Buy 3, Get 3 Free and smell everything in the store that I've never smelled before and got around to Lovely Dreamer. Wow, was I in shock! This is really nice! Musky (but not dirty musk, clean musk), slightly woody (no pencil shavings here thank goodness), really beautiful Iris and a touch of sweetness from the bergamot make this one of those 'your skin, but better' types of scents. I got the whole set and each one smells really nice. Definitely a good bedtime type of fragrance and I can see this being nice for the office or any time you want a scent that is comforting, cozy and has a little zing to it from the bergamot. Nothing screams here, nothing stands out like a sore thumb and there is no chemical after smell. Really great job BBW! Now, I need this in a candle and my life will be complete! ;)

This is a beautiful powdery yet dewy iris! It’s so fresh, floral, and feminine. I mostly get the iris, the musk, woods, and just a touch of fresh bergamot that adds to its fresh, dewy feel :) so feminine and fresh! It reminds me vaguely of both Mar Jacobs Daisy Dream in the blue bottle, and Lake & Sky 11 11 Azure, both have dewy purple floral nuances as well as slight powdery-ness that I love. I do see why it’s compared to Glossier You because it has similar iris/violet notes and a similar level of musk and powdery-ness, but You is a lot more ambrox heavy and much more woody where as Lovely Dreamer is primarily airy florals, bergamot, and musk. Gorgeous scent overall! I’m so glad I grabbed this from B&BWs semiannual sale this year, I will definitely be wearing this through this winter and spring :)

Lovely Dreamer Body cream, is on first application, a bit plasticky smelling. After a minute or two, it calms into a fresh, light musky sweetish scent. The more I smelled it, the more it kept reminding me of Niki Minaj Pink Friday perfume. I really like this scent. It’s an everyday wear, soft and clean... your skin , but better smell. I’m tired of Bath and Bodywork’s very perfumey selections. Some are just too strong, or too powdery/perfumey. This review is on 2023 version. Note: This also smells so good with Tiffany Intense perfume! They both have notes of iris and vanilla. I hope they don’t discontinue this scent.

This is surprisingly indolic! If you hate white florals you may want to skip this, but lucky for me white florals are some of my favorite notes! Interesting that Fragrantica doesn’t have white iris listed as a note because it’s very different than purple iris or orris root. This is slightly sweet, musky, powdery, and indolic— a skin scent for sure with just a little extra sweetness. Doesn’t last long unless you layer the lotion and it’s about a good 4 hours on me.

This is one of the best B&BW scents to me. Absolutely amazing and comforting. This is a powdery and very slightly floral musk. While this is a perfect layering partner to Glossier You, I do not think they smell alike. I think Lovely Dreamer smells just like Lacoste Pour Femme, as they both have that soft and powdery feminine comforting scent, while Glossier You is more peppery and unisex.

Ok if you could smell clouds this is what they would smell like. Or... well, fluffy fantasy clouds. Te he This is just absolutely beautiful! Soft, delicate, a touch of powdery floral with a teensy bit of musk. Perfect! Love love love! Edit... I still absolutely love this in the little perfume spray. I'm longing for a much bigger bottle. EDP. That would make me so happy!!

December 2023 Lovely Dreamer has been re-released. I interpret it as a woodier muskier version of The discontinued BBW “Hello Beatitul.” Lovely Dreamer is a Beautiful cozy musk scent that is NOT gourmand. I like cozy scents without vanilla. I own the cream, the lotion, and the mist and am happy I do.

Oh my gosh! Im so glad i chose this scent over anything else for my free item. This has easily become my everyday scent. So fresh fresh and lightly sweet. It gives me a light violet petal vibe.The musk is so well done in this and not at all overbearing. This a perfect clean girl scent!!!

I prefer the original 2018 formulation of this fragrance way more than 2023 version. However, it’s a nice clean and fresh scent. I would go as far to say that this is one of my favorite bath and body works scent ever.

I bought this off Ebay for Christmas last year for my mom because it's her favorite scent out of everything she's ever owned. She was very happy. It smells incredibly pleasant and soft.

I really like this one. Its a little nostalgic of the perfumes that were trendy in 2000s. A powdery floral with a young vibe. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a popular office scent.

I really wish they still made this one. I actually ended up reselling my bottle and I regret it. It was a soft powdery but not too powdery scent.

I so love this scent!!!! Long lasting, powdery with an earthy scent. Just sad that they discontinued it :(

smells like sweet clouds. i love it

I bought this just yesterday because I knew my husband would love the scent. He’s a big fan of clean fragrances, and I am too! I wasn’t sure about this one out of the nozzle, but once it was on my skin, I caught myself enjoying every little whiff that I got as I moved around. There’s something reminiscent of Cacharel Noa here, another clean scent. I am actually very surprised not to see it on the “This Perfume Reminds Me Of...” list. I do smell You in this too though, so it makes sense.

I find this fragrance to be fairly safe! The powdery notes and bergamot come through very clearly, and settle to be a very fresh and floral fragrance. I wear this with Graphite (also by B&BW) as I prefer to combine my masc and fem fragrances quite frequently. Very notable, this scent *fills a room*. I exited my car to head into my job once, and a lady across the isle of the parking lot hollered at me to let me know how nice I smelled.

Oh wow, this scent is PRETTY! Soft, airy, and powdery - this fragrance mist is perfect for hot and humid days. It also has aloe vera extract to keep the skin from getting dry as compared to other perfumes. I do not get the resemblance to Prada Iris Infusion tho. I have both, but Prada is more soapy and dense to my nose, while B&BW is lighter and has much less of that really powdery iris punch.

I love this!! It’s a clean, floral, musky, slightly woody, iris fragrance and will layer so well with other scents in the same genre! Glad they brought this back, but still hoping that they will bring kaleidoscope back one day 😔

I got this after it was brought back briefly. It is worth grabbing when you have the chance. It is very dreamy and feminine. I wear it on dates with my husband. I would layer it with a musk lotion.

This is the scent of fluffy, clean, white clouds. It's a beautiful, ethereal clean musk. So fresh and pretty. They captured the scent in the packaging for this one.

simple clean scent, soft, powdery and soapy. great layered with pure wonder and gisous hair perfume. lovely out of the shower scent

This won't be a popular review...but I just don't get it with this. I thought I would love it, and was always curious about it because it seems to have a cult following, but I think it's absurdly underwhelming. It's...nice. It smells like faint setting powder, clean laundry, and generic white musk. There's nothing offensive (actually, this is as inoffensive as they come) about this scent, but there's nothing particularly great either. It would be a nice carry-along for trips, and freshening up when you don't want something overt or perfumey. I don't understand why some people say the performance of this is notable, maybe I'm not smelling this properly, but to me it's very light and airy. Ultimately, I just had a very flat, dull response to this, which is just how I rank stuff in my mind. "Likes" and "loves" make me feel something, but so do "dislikes" or "hates". I felt nothing at all with this one.

Reminds me of Calvin Klein's Reveal and was pretty much the only reason I bought this. Lasts a long time on me for a body spray (around 5-6 hours) and sits close to the skin. Really pretty, almost like a second skin. Slightly salty, floral, and musky. I'm torn between "love" and "like" so I'm just gonna say I like it a lot.

It's fine. A fluffy, non-offensive light musk that smells like fabric softener. My quest for an affordable powdery iris/violet continues.

Was hesitant to write this because I didn't get the same experience as others... Is it because I got the fragrance mist? Or because I expected X from a Y perfume? Lovely Dreamer (fragrance mist) opens up alcoholy sharp that makes my nose runny. I love powdery notes and I think Lovely Dreamer is face/makeup powdery instead of baby powdery. However it's mostly covered with musk that turns sour and spicy/warm, reminds me of Glossier You in some aspects. The difference is this smells familiar and I finally got it. The smell of a mall, air conditioned department stores, beauty products and perfumes sections. It's nice in a way, but not what I'd like my skin or my house to smell like, and it can be heady sometimes. This ends my BBW blind buys, I'll stick to their easy sweet & fruity stuffs as they're more straightforward and you'll get what you think. But their prices are marked up here, so...nevermind. 4/10

I don’t mind it, but I also don’t feel the need to own it. While it was suggested to be a bedtime scent, it’s giving me more laundry vibes. It feels clean, but perhaps too clean, to the point that it’s sterile, so it’s not really a cozy scent, which is what I was hoping for. As another reviewer said, it’s indolic. I was surprised to find iris in the notes because I usually find fragrances with iris comforting. I thought it was more of a freesia and jasmine combo, which I wish were more toned down. It’s kind of powdery, but more rough in texture, like sandpaper. It was a letdown for me.

I dug this one out of my large collection because I read it smelled like another scent I liked. I'm wearing it now, and it just smells "stale" to me. It's been stored in a cool, dark closet, so it hasn't gone off, and I have the newer version, the second release of this. It doesn't smell like Glossier You to me at all. Maybe same scent category, but this is just nowhere near as good. It almost smells like a dryer sheet, one I'd wish I hadn't used on my clothes. I want to do a large declutter of my body sprays, this one can go.

considerably weak, even for a body mist. it has a very generic scent profile. it's just a perfumey mist. a "my skin but better" if i'm being generous!

Lovely Dreamer is a very soft, airy musk with a light powdery touch. It's almost like a simple, classic lotion type of scent. But because it’s so light and subtle, it’s really not impressive. I do not like this fragrance. There’s something off in the dry down that smells dirty to me. On its own, there’s a weird note that’s very off-putting. I can’t pinpoint what it is, but it ruins it for me. The only way I can use this is by layering it with a much stronger scent. 1/10 Sillage 2/10 Longevity 3/10

This is nice but fleeting, as per previous reviews! I may buy this one if I find it on sale at the local BBW Outlet store, but I would't pay full price for it. I think this would be a nice scent to gift to someone, because it isn't too too much of ANYTHING... but it is very light and lovely, nicely titled product from BBW :-) Update: So I ended up exchanging a BBW product received as a gift for Christmas, and couldn't help but get a Lovely Dreamer product in its place. I picked up the shower gel. I will say, this scent is so nice! It is very light, and I sense maybe a bit of pepper somewhere in the mix? I do really like this one. It is a nice, out of the ordinary scent, for BBW in my opinion. And it could pass for an expensive perfume too...And Kudos for that! I am going to keep my eye on this one and probably purchase a perfume in the near future. I usually don't get excited about BBW scents, and they all smell the same, in a sense to me, so this one is definitely unique!

I was choosing between this and Forever Sunshine, but I chose this since I read in the reviews that it smells clean and fresh. I wish I just went for Forever Sunshine instead. The opening is pungent. I could literally feel the spice of the bergamot punching my nose. It's strong but too much. Even the dry down smelled like pepper or some form of spice. The iris isn't projecting at all. No traces of powder unlike what some people have mentioned. There's also a lot of the alcohol smell in this. I tried my best to like it, but this was not it. It was such a letdown. I'll just give this to someone who may appreciate it more than I do. I guess it simply doesn't jive with my body chemistry.

Hi friends! If anyone is searching for a close dupe to Lovely Dreamer, in my opinion, the dry down smells most similar to the Christina Aguilera perfume - the one with the clear bottle and black lace design and also Demeter Kitten Fur. Lovely Dreamer to my nose, opens up a bit peppery and Ambrox like Glossier You, but then it dries down similar to Christina Aguilera and/or Demeter Kitten Fur (which is also in the same genre as Victoria’s Secret Heavenly, Giorgio Armani Lei). I actually am not really picking up a strong Iris and for that reason, I don’t think it’s that similar to Prada Infusion D’Iris. I think the closest dupe is Christina Aguilera. I hope this helps!

This has the potential to be absolutely stunning. While I do love where this scent was going, I have to admit that this is by far the weakest of all my B&BW fragrance mists. The lotion is even worse. Perfect for layering with so many different perfumes in my collection. This is fluffy, airy, slightly powdery and woody but still modern. I saw a review below saying this was indolic. I have to disagree. I think this is clean and airy in the best possible way. I just wish it was up to par with my other mists and lotions.

I don’t get woody notes, just a gorgeous clean musky scent that smells like you are always freshly showered. The fragrance is 10/10 for me, so I bought 3 bottles of this. Smells like a very simple perfume. I feel like everyone with a fragrance collection should have a scent like this. It’s the perfect everyday clean scent that does not smell like a body spray.

This smells nearly identical to the EOS clean and cozy body lotion. It is also kind of reminiscent of the VS dream angels “heavenly” formula from like 10 years ago. It has a very laundry-like quality, with a slightly powdery musk. It’s comforting but leans a bit too into the drier-sheet vibes for me. (reviewing the ‘23/‘24 winter SAS release)

Woody-ish....powdery..light musky floral...fleeting quickly to a drydown of typical bath & body scents...However....I like it !!! Got the mist and shower gel, nice for spring/summer and a great "put on before bed" or "sheet spray"....pleasant dreams in the clouds..............

great every day clean scent. doesn’t last very long but that’s expected for the price. i’d recommend to stock up during sales so you can reapply whenever. nice clean fluffy musk fragrance with some bergamot and fresh woods. not much iris. not very powdery either.

Very nice and clean powdery iris. Long lasting too. I always get amazed when these mists by this brand last longer then some of my EDT's. My top one will always be Sea Island Cotton.

Fitting name, soft and powdery. So close to VS Heavenly. Sometimes B&BW brings this scent back. If they do, it may be worth a try.

This scent is supposed to be returning for Semi Annual Sale in December 2025
