Midnight Addiction

Black Opium....what can I say. I bought a purse spray from Sephora to try it out. I wasn't crazy about it bc it disappeared after about an hour or so. Then Bath & Body Works launched Into The Night in 2019, and I blind bought the eau de Parfum, shower gel, fragrance mist and body cream. At that time it was supposed to be a dupe of BO. Meh. Both disappeared fairly quickly, and I wound up dropping my purse spray of BO on my bathroom floor (oops!) which quickly lit up my bathroom. I will say it made my bathroom smell nice lol Welp fast forward to present. I had bought a bottle of Black Opium Intense from Sephora, and it lasted a bit longer than the OG. I've let it macerate for a couple of years, and now it is divine!!! And now comes Midnight Addiction. Even the name sounds sexy...ooo. Anyhow, I purchased a purse spray of MA, from B&BW, and tested it alongside BOE... WOW. Exact match. Then I sprayed some BOE on my wrist, let it dry down, then sprayed Midnight Addiction on top and...WHOA.... it's like MA intensified BOE to the ultimate extreme and made it stronger! Needless to say I was blown away. I did the same side by side test of Into the Night with Midnight Addiction and MA literally stomped on ITN. ITN is a lot more berry-centered, whereas MA is more plum and coffee centered, which is awesome. I will be purchasing the Eau de Parfum of MA, as well as the body cream and a travel spray of the body mist. My next test is to see how MA interacts with Coco Noir......I'll be back with an update. I don’t have Black Opium, just Black Opium Over Red, which I love but is very berry-forward and quite different from this. In Midnight Addiction I smell all sorts of spice that I don’t see in the notes - cinnamon, clove, cardamom, anise. I love a fragrance that makes me smell like a bakers’ spice rack. I also love that I don’t get a ton of sweetness. It’s very smooth and clean. This is delicious! I started with the small body spray but now have this in EDP and I’m so glad.

I was not fully expecting this to be a dupe for YSL: Black Opium, but it absolutely is and it's better! I have not been the biggest fan of Black Opium as I think it's to sharp for me. This does not have that strange off metallic coffee note. I ended up returning the the body mist and got the perfume!

I don’t know what it is, but I like it better than Black Opium. It’s softer, sweeter—-if anything, I’m slightly anosmic to it. Like I want to smell more but it’s not strong enough for me! The body cream helps extend the scent a lot.

I sprayed this in store and I think it’s better and smoother than Black Opium. I finished a bottle of Black Opium earlier this year so I have it fresh in my memory as more intense on that patchouli. This one is similar but more feminine and smooth. I think I actually prefer it to YSL.

it’s a good dupe but the scent itself is kind of headache inducing. the coffee vanilla side of it is amazing but in combination with the grape and plum floral scent it kind of falls short personally.

Hate it. Plum note ruins it. Opens screechy, stays screechy. Update: it’s now November and I hate it less. I actually love the coffee and the plum isn’t as bad as I first thought. I think my nose has started to like plum notes the more I’ve been buying/trying new perfumes since then. I think it’s ok and maybe leaning toward a “like”.

The plum in this yells at you for an hour and a half before you can enjoy the nutty coffee vibe. I endured it every time so that i could have it linger on my sweaters but i was told that the opening made me smell like a vape. I now have plum ptsd

enjoyed the smell in the store, wore it once and had to return it. It is SO strong and the dry down on me ended up making me feel nauseated. Love all the notes, did not love them together, apparently. It's a smoky, dark scent, but it did NOT work for me.

if motion sickness was a fragrance, it would be this. this is so nauseating and headache-inducing. dry down is candle wax and body odor covered up by AXE body spray. thank god i bought the mini edp.

It's bad. Smells like very minty root beer.

This might not mean much to anyone, but the plum note in this reminds me so much of an old BabyPhat perfume called Fabulosity. I can't say if it's a dupe or anything because it's been over 15 years since I've owned that one, but smelling Midnight addiction It gave me scent memories of that time. At the same time, this is very similar to Black Opium too, but more plummy. UPDATE: Sadly, after wearing it a bit more, don't think I'm enjoying this like I thought I would. I like Black Opium, but there's something in this that's really bothering me, and it gave me a massive headache..the kind of headache that knocks you out. Most of the luxury line has been doing this to me, even Pistachio Glaze (I thought I would absolutely adore that one because I'm a big gourmand lover). The only one that hasn't triggered a headache is Seeing Rouge. UPDATE #2 Alright, I think this is fine again, and I do enjoy it after all. Damn, I have no business writing reviews lol

I smelled this and loved it without knowing at first it was a Black Opium dupe! It is a well done alternative for Black Opium. I personally don't need it because I have Fine'ry's Midnight Cafe dupe from Target, but if you are into that type of scent, this is a great affordable option! I personally love B.O. and many of its flankers but find it a little overbearing at times because it is SUCH a rich scent....the dupes tend to be a little less concentrated in scent and therefore better for my liking so I don't get headaches.

Had no clue this is supposed to be a Black Opium dupe! The first thing I thought when I smelled it today for the first time was... 1980’s POISON! The plum is unmistakable on my skin. To me it smells nothing like BO, it smells a million times better. This one is the OG Poison. Nobody will convince me otherwise 🤣

This smells just like Black Opium. I have both. I like this more. Less jasmine dominant. I don’t think the other one is jasmine heavy on purpose, just on my skin. The plum note does not go unnoticed, but it’s still a respectable dupe.

Warm and slightly bitter from the coffee. Pretty nice for fall and winter
