Milk

This starts off savory sugared with some spice and becomes powdery, soapy, colder and fresher while retaining some of that initial oatmeal spice. The milk is initially sweet as influenced from the sugared notes, but quickly becomes more and more powdery, fresh-watery and soapy. It's like a hybrid, maybe that's why I love it so much. The opening is like toasted oats: soft spicy like oatmeal sugar cookies fresh out of the oven dipped in milk. It is a spicy scent like the cookie spicy scent in Clinique's Cookies and Kisses, but a lot softer - not peppery, no pink pepper here. It also has a smooth vanilla-effect from the 'sugared oats' note blending with the milk, so nice. It is an intense grain scent, that of the oats, similar to the scent of rice in Kenzo Amour, just not in an earthy way. At the same time it is also lactonic and creamy right away, from the 'whipped milk' note which is not like spoiled milk, just sweeter from the sugar at first, but also deep and powdery from the oats' rich grainy aroma. The unexpected twist is that the deep powdery milk note becomes less gourmand and more watery with a soapy quality to it. The milk is not sickly sweet, but crude, cold and fresh, like raw milk is which is rather watery compared to the pasteurized kind. There is an ozonic element to the milk note that develops quickly along with the toasted-oats spicy opening, like a cold contrast to that gourmand warm spicy sugared scent. It dominates the fragrance progressively in the drydown, while the gourmand, spicy oats note becomes softer. It is a deeper blue-ish powdery, soapy undertone into the white sugared sweeter-milky component, similar to the Fresh Coconut Cotton's ozonic refreshing element. It makes the scent calming, bright and fresh rather than cozy, overly warm and gourmand, so not like a plain vanilla-oatmeal cookies and sweet milk scent. It's like doing laundry and having some oatmeal dipped in raw milk and sugar at the nearby kitchen table. It is overall a pure clean deep scent like Fresh Coconut and Cotton, minus the coconut or sour effect of that one, and with some amber-y undertone cuz at the projection I am getting some Sweet Whiskey vibes, that similar sweet amber-y balsamic feel, only much colder-soapy and milky here. I suppose the oatmeal spice blending into the milk gives this deeper, balsamic nuance and like I said, powdery. I am not surprised that Commodity's Milk has been compared to BBW Sweet Whiskey; it must be the case with some milky scents having that deep ambery feel. The toasted sugared oatmeal-cookies spice of the opening is savory and sadly doesn't last long, but fades into this soapy, balsamic milky powdery blue scent, yes all of that. So yea to me this is not a cozy gourmand scent throughout. I am in LOVE with this scent due to its unexpected contrasts. Lovers of fresh, soapy, powdery blue-white scents like Fresh Coconut Cotton, which is more sour and it's coconut-based instead of milk/cream-based, will appreciate this, and those who love sweet but somewhat cold lactonic scents, or balsamic deep scents like Sweet Whiskey. It can trigger nausea for those who can't stand powdery-fresh cold lactonic scents paired with a warm, sweet-spicy contrast. Also it's same league as kenzo amour due to the rice and lactonic feel, but no heady cherry blossom floral notes here or super powdery almond-y heliotrope effect, but rather a soapy, fresh and ozonic powdery undertone.

at first spray on my skin it was a very sharp, cold milk smell. very much lactonic, but also had an acidity and almost sourness to it that i didn’t really enjoy. i saw a user describe it as aquatic too, which i can see. its not sweet at all at first- mainly oats and milk. however, after a few hours later on my skin, the sharpness has worn down and its become sweeter, cozier and warmer. i do smell a bit of vanilla too, but i think the notes were just oats and milk! i don’t know if i would purchase it, just because the first hour or so of wear are a little unpleasant, but i really do like the dry down after a little bit of time. i’m torn! i really wanted to love her 💔 i think if you can pick it up during one of their flash sales for a huge discount, then it would be worth it. i wonder if it also will macerate with time maybe? i don't know! it would be good for layering with something that needs some warmth/milkiness. EDIT/UPDATE: i've done a full 360 on this perfume since snatching it up on sale for 5$! the initial smell is no longer as sharp to me, as maybe i've gotten used to it. it is very oat-y, but warms up quicker to me now i think.... i wear it after i've showered around bedtime <3 such a comforting but soft/subtle scent. the warmth/lactonic-ness is almost savoury in a way (maybe there's another word to describe it...), that smells like a worn-in wool sweater or your cat's fur. it fades quite a bit after 5-6 hours though, becomes a skin scent very quick. but that is my jam in fragrances so i love it! there's really nothing like her out there ! 9/10

I compulsively did a blind buy of the entire collection (perfume mist, body lotion, body cream, body wash, soap bar, and hand cream) without knowing about all the previous hype behind it. I was intrigued solely by its description and took a chance despite not really knowing what to expect because though most reviews were positive there were several that shared the common opinion that it smelled like breast milk or baby spit. Thankfully I can pick up on the sugary oat notes so many were raving about, and glad it's as soft and cozy as they claimed. I don't have much experience with lactonic scents as I tend to gravitate toward florals, woods, and more recently gourmands, so this was a nice introduction to the distinctive note. I love that it isn't overly sweet or powdery, though I can pick up hints of both. But that's what makes this scent great for layering if that's your thing. I can't wait to try it with a few different frags of varying qualities in my collection and see if I find a new favorite combo. I agree with another reviewer that said it smells similar to Philosophy's Amazing Grace, but much lighter and less powdery (which is a great thing because I loatheee powder and is the only reason why AG just sits on my shelf lol).

So FREAKING good! This is legitimately one of the fewest lactonic scents that is true to what it’s supposed to be. Someone recommended me Commodity Milk after I asked for a pure milk fragrance, and it literally smells like toasted s’mores...it’s not creamy and it doesn’t smell like milk. This? This literally smells like everything I was told Commodity smelled like and more. It’s like when you’ve finished a bowl of frosted flakes and there’s still milk left in the bowl. It’s so clean and perfect. I wore this mist with my Fenty Salted Caramel body cream and omg...I’m almost sure this’ll be my signature scent over the Fall. I ended up buying a few more bottles as backups, the cream, and body wash 🫠 If I had anything negative to say, it would probably be that it doesn’t seem to last super long, but I’m hoping that using the cream and body wash will help a bit. Seriously, if you’re looking for a legit milk fragrance, this is it. Do NOT listen to anyone recommending you Commodity’s Milk, which is far, faaaaar from it.

this opens as a clean, slightly powdery scent, which i'm not usually the biggest fan of. for whatever reason though, i enjoy this, even in the opening (maybe because it smells clean but not soapy). however, the drydown is where this really shines--it transforms into this lactonic, nutty fragrance that reminds me of cold oat milk. cozy, delicious goodness without being sugary or heavy. i personally don't see the similarity to fresh cream warm cashmere, but i do think they would layer beautifully for a cozy bedtime scent. these perfume mists are on the weaker side even for b&bw, but the longevity is there. i do wish it was stronger, but i think this scent works with a softer projection because it has such a cozy, intimate vibe. i think this would be gorgeous year-round, day or night since it's clean but still warm and sweet, and soft but in a cozy way. an absolute love for me.

This is everything I could want from a perfume mist called "Milk". It's linear, simple, and soft. The milk accord that is this entire fragrance is slightly sweetened and nutty. Reminds me of a favorite oat and brown sugar creamer. It's all deliciously warmed and lasts a good while on the skin. Longer than I would expect from a B&BW product. I wear this to bed all the time and douse myself in it when I'm still shower damp and wanting to feel cozy. The simplicity also makes Milk great for layering, though it's stand well on it's own. I was worried that something synthetic or overly sugary would take over it at some point and induce a headache but it's delightfully easy on the senses. It will be a dark day when my bottle dries up and B&BW inevitably discontinues it.

Smells like freshly washed babies, warm milk baths, and slightly sweetened oatmeal. Plain but comforting. And surprisingly elevated for a bath and body works scent. This is nothing like the citrusy Heavy Cream by Phlur or like the spicy Milk by Commodity. This is just milk, sugar, and oats. After having time to sit, it has 3-4 hours of longevity and an intimate but cozy scent bubble. Pair this with BBW Honeycomb, these two body sprays are made to be layered together. I did not get anything sour or artificial but you have to love milky scents to enjoy this. I would only wear this to bed, but this is wonderful at the end of a stressful day when you need to relax. I will repurchase this if it comes out again. Final Rating 8/10.

Though most would say it's too sweet, I believe this perfume to be one of the best lactonic scents I've ever laid my nose on. I swear this perfume doesn't get the praise it deserves. It's slightly sweet, very milky (as the name suggests) and leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart. This perfume reminds me of being tucked in at night and listening to vintage tunes at my grandmother's house. It smells like a glass of warm milk in the early nighttime. One of the cons would be that over time it could get too sweet, but that's up to you to decide. Great for layering with other perfumes. True to its name!

I love this scent so much. It smells exactly like how I imagine a milk scent would smell. I love the toasty oat notes, as well. This scent is especially good during cold weather. I wouldn't recommend it (like Wrapped in Vanilla) during the summer because you really don't want to smell like spoiled milk/cream. But during fall and winter? It's absolutely devine! Plus the longevity is amazing, like 6-8hrs on skin and longer on clothes. I tried layering it with WIV but it just smelled like Snowflakes & Cashmere, which I find a tad cloying. But Milk & WiV on their own are my 2 fave bbw scents.

This is a clean, cozy, creamy scent. It’s a little sweet, a little musky, and so unique. It layers well with so many things. I like to put it over Sorce’s Match Made in Heaven for a milky matcha latte vibe. I pair it with a musky kitten fur scent from Poesie for a clean and cozy feeling. I also like it paired with You Doux to make it extra creamy. I’ll never forgive BBW for having this scent available for like 6 months and then discontinuing it. I was lucky to grab a body wash, lotion, and two sprays. It seems like it was pretty popular so I’m hoping it’ll reappear at some point.

I actually didn't like this very much at first when I tried it on a test strip or on my skin, which really bummed me out because I'd been reading about it and it sounded like something I would love! It smelled to me like the sensitive skin body butter in the pink tub I bought a few years ago from B&BW, which is just kind meh to me. But a few hours later I found myself still sniffing the spot on my skin where I sprayed it and thinking "damn that smells good", and I had to go back the next day to buy it. I absolutely love this scent. It's sweet, but subtle for me. Not too much.

this is just perfect. it might be the best thing ever created under the name “milk” i genuinely don’t understand how it manages to be sweet & lactonic while also smelling so incredibly clean at the same time. this is suchhhh a clean scent yet completely unique. even fragrances marketed as fresh/clean probably don’t smell this clean it’s unbelievable... i didn’t know what to expect from this. i thought it would be something super sugary, sweet, maybe even suffocating but this is incredible. one of the best new things i’ve smelled in a long time

This is what I want when I think of “Milk” fragrance. I need them to make this in perfume form or one of these dupe or Arabian houses to make a perfume like this. I hope they never discontinue this. Like the comment below says, Commodity’s version is laughable after smelling this. I have the entire line and doubles of everything. The best part is that this scent is specifically for sensitive skin so even people with autoimmune issues and allergies can wear the whole line. The body wash and lotion are both deeply moisturizing and smell amazing.

I love Milk! It smells like milk in its purest state and it's so refreshing. I literally can picture drinking a glass of milk and smelling that natural milky aroma that fills the glass. Plus, I love this for the gym. I am very sensitive to what I wear while working out. I can't stand stuffy air. Milk is very minimal, fresh, airy, and creamy. I honestly hope Bath & Body Works doesn't discontinue this one. It has its purposes -- both for sensitive skin (as was there intention) and for people that need quiet fragrances while working out.

This is like a light version of Warm Vanilla Sugar from the 90's to early 00's. I can smell the soap on my hands at my grandmommy's house. I'm into powder, floral, and petrichor. I hate 99% of vanillas, but I adore this. There might be powder here, but I don't get any of it. I think people are conflating its dryness with powdery-ness because it's a non-sweet, not very gourmand vanilla. There's definitely a light coconut and rice note present as well. It's incredible and one of my top 3 shower ritual fragrances of all time.

As others mentioned, a great base and introduction to layer over. As I've mentioned in my other reviews, I've come to strongly dislike lactones and it is because of this scent, but in a great way--nothing can come close to the perfect subtlety of Milk. I like how simple it is--cozy, yet despite its notes being made up of nostalgic, comforting scents, it is perfectly cool as well, great for springtime and even fall. I feel like it works better to layer on during the daytime. The word "clarity" in a bottle.

This is like when you walk into an ice cream shop, and the smell of sweet, frozen milk entices you. It smells cold and creamy, and unlike any of the other dreadful treacle that B&BW hocks (Exhibit A: "Peeps" Easter-themed body spray. Gag!). On my skin it's softly sweet, ethereal, and also a little savory. Since it's a mist, projection and longevity are not great, but that's ok! It's cheap as hell and so good that you can spritz with reckless abandon. Why can't this company make more products like this?

I loveee this scent. It's warm and familiar, but you also smell nice and clean. It reminds me of being wrapped up in a cozy blanket on a cold winter evening. I do tend to lean towards sweeter scents, which is where most people tend to find a problem with this scent, but on my chemistry in pairs really well. It's nice to spray on linens to make it have more projection. But, it's very soft and close to the skin which I enjoy. It's also pretty affordable, which makes me happy as a broke college student.

Im not usually a BBW fan and typically go for higher end/higher quality perfumes. That being said.. Milk may change that for me. The dry down reminds me SO much of the dry down of KVD's Saint (the original version). Milk is missing the light floral-citrus-caramel sweet top note but really hits me as a more modern, skin scent version of Saint. I'll definitely be stocking up, this easily made its way into my regular rotation. I do wish the longevity was longer but for the price I can't complain.

I got 4 bottles and already halfway through one of them... it’s only been a month! Do with that what you will. It’s literally the cleanest, coziest milky fragrance mist out there. Edit: To add. This smells like someone who’s wearing the nicest, subtlety sweet fragrance and you just assume that that’s what they naturally smell like. Very skin scent vibes. Very cozy and very signature scent safe. If someone walked past me wearing this I’d think “oh that’s lovely, they smell so pretty”.

This reminds me of Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere by Philosophy !! 🥰🙏🙏 It’s so yummy and milky and has good potential for layering. (Has because I don’t own it yet.) To me, it’s like warm milk and has a powdery scent to it. Like many lactonic scents I like, it doesn’t last long, but I honestly don’t mind as I’m probably going to use this as a layering scent. 10/10 !! Edit: I own this now, and layering this with very vanilla by Pink is so good—it makes you smell like a warm cookie :3

Guys does this really smell like Bianco latte? Because I love this scent it’s creamy nutty & oaty .. it’s truly amazing . I feel like in the beginning it didn’t sit well with me made me very sick , so I left it there just hanging. Then I came back to it after a while and it really changed over time idk if to say it macerated ? But in the beginning it smelt like baby wipes , now it smells true to its notes . Had this same experience with VS oat milk & almond blossom

This is such a cozy, neutral scent. Perfect when you just want a nice cozy scent and not something overpowering. It wears well though and that nice neutrality lasts - I will layer all the products (body wash, lotion, body spray) during/after my shower and can still smell it on the morning. I wish bath and body works would keep this one around. There’s nothing else I’ve found that’s the perfect milky scent like this without being sweet or having floral undertones.

I ADORE this scent. The milk body spray and lotion is my favorite lotion and spray ever! It pairs well with my favorite scents, such as vanilla, marshmallow, and coconut. The milk lotion and spray are also great after a shower, and I do not feel like using perfume. My absolute favorite. It does not smell rotten or sickly either. It is a warm, cozy milk scent, and I love it. It's sold out everywhere, but when it's in stock, GET IT!!!! 10/10, my favorite ever <3

First of all, I love this so much, I DONT UNDERSTAND THE HATE. It smells like a cold glass of cozy oat milk. A very comforting bedtime scent makes me feel like a kid snuggling into bed. However, I doubt id ever wear this in public considering others opinions on how this smells. You can pretty much pair this with anything to give it a laconic edge though, which is my fav part. I love pairing this with Johnson's nighttime lotion, or snow angel by philosophy!

I stocked up on this when it came out again. I have four bottles in total now and four. bottles of the lotion. It is the only thing I use when I go to bed. I love it so much. The lotion feels so comfortable on the skin and not so sticky unlike Bath and Body Works' other lotions. It is very light scent. It smells like oatmeal and I would totally agree more if they called it Oat Milk rather than 'Milk' because I was expecting a 2% milk smell, but it's oat.

Non-Gourmand, Milky, White Musk... Not sure about the notes here, but I liked this after testing it yesterday. I get a faintly sweet milk combined with clean white musk. If you layered a milky soft vanilla with White Musk from The Body Shop, it would be pretty close to this. The sweetness is quite soft, and I definitely wouldn't put this into gourmand territory, but if you like white-musk scents, this is a good one. Love it. Enjoy!

ooooh i love this scent so muchhhhhhh. to me it smells like oats with smth watery and maybe a light rice scent to it. it blends so good to my body chemistry because it smells like laundry on my skin, its like my skin scent but better and its also great for layering. also not cloying as its a really ĺight smell. i hope BBW makes this as a permanent body mist on their shelves. its really really good. especially for a bedtime scent.

milky, creamy, lactonic, smooth... there’s so many ways to describe how milky this perfume is! it’s a sweet, creamy fragrance that somehow (to my nose) has a nutty undertone? it takes me to a cafe... i’m sitting reading my new book with an almond croissant that’s lightly dusted with powdered sugar and a milky, sugary sweet latte on the side. it’s an everyday fragrance for me! sometimes i wear it to bed hehe. 8.5/10

This has a perfect milky smooth almost slightly nutty scent that I adore. It smells a bit buttery, even. It isn't overly sweet either which is lovely and it is definitely a nicely balanced fragrance. It reminds me slightly of Lattafa Affection in the dry down, but leaning more towards a rich sweet creamy brown butter oat type of aroma. It smells like straight up delicious gourmand delightfulness.

I was expecting it to be like phlur heavy cream, but this is much more wearable. It is sweet but not anywhere near as sweet as heavy cream. It has some skin scent qualities. I layer this with other perfumes, and it just brings a clean yet creamy quality to whatever I add it to. This perfume makes me think of a nice oat milk bath. On my nose there is a faint coconut type smell as well. Love it!

Came across Milk at the semi annual sale yesterday and fell in love! I didn’t know this was being raved and I am onboard with the hype. I love how neutral this scent smells. It’s a very soft cuddly scent without being too sweet, complex or warm. Easy to wear and doesn’t overpower, can be a good creamy base for other scents. I also don’t mind adding a linear and simple scent to my collection.

This is the best thing bath and body works has ever done. Like idk how they made it so addicting but I spray it multiple times a day and have been wearing it to bed every night since I got it it’s that good!! It smells like milk and oats and is sweet but also somehow fresh at the same time, it’s the ultimate cozy comforting scent. Excited to try layering it!

When I first sprayed it I got whiff of the alcohol contents in it which made me think it was going to turn out sour, but after a few minutes it became a yummy milk smell basically what I imagined and hoped the spray would smell like. I just wish it lasted longer and maybe smelled more potent. I like to layer it with the vanilla & caramel body spray.

This is what I expected VS Almond Blossoms and Oat Milk to smell like but didn't get. I am so smitten with this fragrance. It's just so yummy and cozy and everything I want in a mist. Too bad because I can't find it anywhere in my country (Philippines) 😭. The best I could get were 10 ml decants (ikr? Bbw decants?) Please someone sell this to me 🙏😭

I'm so glad I picked up this scent when it got restocked. It's a great work-from-home scent that's super comforting and allows you to still be moisturized without having to be super fragranced. It's definitely not a date night type fragrance, or even much of an event fragrance to me--rather more of a lazy day or errand running day sort of thing.

I love this so much! So creamy but not sickly sweet. On my skin, it smells like a freshly bathed skin in fresh milk with hints of florals (the oats smell like florals on my skin.) Lucky me, I guess. Restocked about 30 bottles. Guilty perfume hoarder here. I've smelt nothing like this. I layer it sometimes with Jo Malone's Poppy & Barley.

as a person who doesnt like milk scents, i absolutely love this in the beginning its VERY milky, but not a sour milk like other milk scents ive smelt. milk & a little oats as it dries down, it becomes this soft skin milk and a tad bit of sugar or something sweet. its really relaxing in my opinion perfect for a bedtime scent!!

my all time favorite scent from bath and body works!! super light, creamy, sweet, and milky with a hint of vanilla. this mist does not have an overwhelmingly strong or off putting scent at all. it is definitely a perfect silky/subtle lactonic scent. it is clean, cozy, and comforting. the perfect mist for fall and winter!

My favorite line from BBW is the Milk line. To me, it smells like straight from the fridge ice cold cow milk. I love it. I have recently found a ME perfume that smells similar to it, just a touch less sweet—Gulf Orchid Rice Milk. They layer perfectly. If you like that milky laconic type of sweet scent, Milk is for you.

I love Milk. It’s creamy, milky, lactonic and sweet without being overbearing. I love wearing the scent to bed, as I find it soft and comforting. I was lucky enough to hunt down the body mist, body lotion and shower cream before it was discontinued, but think BBW should bring this scent back, along with Honey.

Lactonic fragrances on me usually go down one of two paths: either spoiled milk or playdoh. However, this one stayed just as delicious on my skin as on the tester strip! It’s a warm and fluffy milk scent, very clean and cozy, perfect for layering or on its own. I’m gonna have so much fun with this in the fall!

I lovee this perfume, it's really pleasant and subtle. I could definitely see how some people think it smells a bit weird though, it kind of reminds me of Kitten Fur by Demeter but more lactonic. I haven't tried layering it yet but I could see it being great for that maybe with a coffee or vanilla scent.

Letting it macerate changed the scent for the better, I already loved how balanced the milk and oat notes were and how it wore on the skin (it dried down to a soft, warm milky vanilla). I waited a few months and now the scent is this incredible creamy wood smell.

Smells like a comforting cup of warm milk. Performance isn't great, requiring application almost hourly. This can be improved by also using the lotion which also smells lovely. I love wearing this to bed layered with Honeycomb, also by Bath and Body Works. 🥛 ❤️

This is very close to sweet paradise from French avenue if you're looking for a perfume that is similar.. Sweet Paradise is also similar to Scarlet poppy intense but I would say milk is closer to Sweet Paradise. Poppy pulse from Paris corner is also similar

Ice cold, straight from the fridge cow milk. Sweet and creamy. I love it. This to me is the best ‘milk’ scented fragrance I’ve ever smelt. Blows Commodity Milk away. Ordered backups of the lotion, mist, and body wash immediately.

Very cold clean lactonic scent. I get almost no sweetness from it. It does kind of smell like an oat milk. This scent is so calming and I love spraying it on days when I don’t know what else to reach for, it’s nice and neutral

This is one of my all time favorite bath and body works scents. It’s slightly sweet, creamy and lactonic. It’s perfect to use right out of the shower or to wind down. This should be part of their core wellness line.
