Moonlight Path

My favorite scent in childhood, my sister worked at BBW so i can’t say this was my first perfume, [she brought home a RIDICULOUS amount of vanilla bean noel products, which i loved at first but quickly grew tired of. warm vanilla sugar too... idky the default was vanilla.] But this is definitely the first perfume i fell in love with, and the first that i bought. The body sprays Id get from my sister would never fall even a half inch from the top of the bottle; but discovering this spray in my closet i see it’s right at half. Loved it to death and it became my signature, I’ve been an “old lady” since middle school. Even following a career in botany, i’m attracted to white night florals, their smell is more intoxicating than any other flower, and catching a whiff of jasmine, queen of the night, gardenia, or even locoweed on a breeze at night excites me more than anything. it’s funny to think that this might’ve been the catalyst to that deep love for white florals, even influenced my style, which has been described as “mature”, and “sexy grandma” LOL. this scent just smells like self love and oneness. the image of a clear humid night, stars displaying the sounds of a thousand crickets, a path that stretches forwards. this is the flower the nose catches, and wishes it could hold in its depths forever, and this time the scent is held, as tightly and deeply as the nostrils wished they could hold it. the mysterious sweetness the night flower tries to conceal is more detectable than ever. breath is released and the journey continues, down this path, through this warm summer night. the formulation is still that of a BBW bodymist at the end of the day, so it lacks the complexity and depth of a high end fragrance, but wow it really does perform. if i could find a high end “dupe” with a little less sweetness and without that indole (i think it’s called) that body mists have, i would buy the absolute hell out of it.

I love layering this with my other powdery scents after a shower/bath, before bed. I feel and smell so clean! Currently I'm wearing it with L'air Du Temps (my Grandmother's scent), Stetson (my Dad's cologne, which allegedly smells like the original Chantilly by Houbigant) and Channel No 5 (my favourite). This combo is so comforting to me. I'm out of Heaven Sent or I'd add that too. Sometimes I'll add in some anaïs anaïs, but tonight I didn't. Initial blast has a very masculine cologne smell, but that dissipates quickly enough, or we get used to it. I Iayer with the lotion as well and the blast of white powdery florals is like using expensive French soap, for a fraction of the price. I really don't even know what it smells like as it softens because I wear it before bed and always layer.. BUT if you like any of the scents mentioned above, or if you enjoy smelling like powdery clean soap, you might also enjoy Moonlight Path. I can't rate the sillage or lasting power because I live alone and am really not sure how long it lasts. I would imagine probably not long as it's just a bath and body scent, not a luxury parfum. Layering with the lotion would help though. I think I smell divine.

This is the OG. My absolute favorite body mist. Nothing will ever top it. Powdery, musky, creamy, divine! I bought the perfume, the body mist, the lotion, everything! It's been a rollercoaster of emotions. I fell in love with it the first time I tried it back in the 1990s. Heartbreak when it was discontinued. Elated when it was resurrected in the millennium. Confusion when it didn't smell exactly the same. Resignation when it was discontinued again. I even used to buy the Moonlit Way dupe from Walmart which was an excellent match. Few scents have ever captured my attention like this one.

Smells nasty at the opening. Like an old, very dated and expired scent. But as it dries down, it’s like it ages backward and turns into the cutest, softest baby-powder scent. Very nostalgic to me I will forever love this. Smells powdery yet so clean and fresh, it’s very soothing and helps me sleep even. I love smelling this on my blanket and clothes after. If cute had a scent I think it would be this!! It’s my home & sleep scent, wish they didn’t discontinue this in Canada. I went thru like 10 spray bottles and 20 lotion bottles so far pls bring it back 😢😢

dead straight think thick dishevelled cream sweater, you live with your grandma in a small 90s suburban bungalow where there's little precious moments figurines displayed on the front porch window, and shes lighting a perwinkle coloured candle that smells like violet and musk. I spray this on my pillows if i wanna sleep like a baby and layer with other perfumes if I want to smell like i came straight out of 2009. unfortunately it easily gives me a headache if i overspray it

I have this in the perfume and fine fragrance mist. Both are over 5 years old with the perfume being even older. I don't care if this is classified as being a Granny scent. I love it. I have always loved this scent. It is cozy and comforting, ultra feminine and perfect for wearing anytime. This will always be one of my fave BBW scents. I wish that it was part of their core scents, available year round. This smells powdery, girly, and so comforting. Love this.

I put the vote for Sweet Honesty, as it reminds me of that, but not as deep or intense. Though that is a soft scent, this is just a body mist so it's not really comparable. Except I'm getting wafts of that with the powder. It's nice. Perfect for before bed or after the shower. I do love powdery scents, but this doesn't strike me as something that will last long or that anyone around me might smell from even an arm's length away. I'll smell nice for hugs lol

Moonlight path to us is a wonderful beautiful smelling spray mist you really can't go wrong with this one, it's just a soft , fresh, romantic and comforting smell on both of us. But everyone's body chemistry is different so you really need to give this a try. Night-blooming Jasmine, Blue Violet, Sheer Lavender, Lily of the Valley and soft musk are just incredible together. Last all day on us. Remember fragrances don't have gender's wear what you like.

this is so nostalgic to me as the first fragrance i ever owned! i got it when i was 10 or 11, so i had to buy the fine fragrance mist and the body cream when they brought them back recently. a very very nice scent for bedtime or right out of the shower! i kind of want to get the shower gel as well now because i usually take night showers and this scent is suuuuper calming to me. added 2010’s nostalgia is a bonus!

I love thisssss. My grandma gave it to me and I would use it a ton. I would put it on my bed so I could sleep good. It kinda worked. It's a very calm scent and very unique. I have it as a lotion now, but it's much better as a fine fragrance mist. It's odd cuz everyone says it has a lot of musk and though I don't like overly musky things I love this one.

✧.*🪻🌱🌙🐑 she absolutely does not deserve the hate. when i first got it, i was so disappointed. when i tried her again though, i realized what i was missing. it reminds me of baby powder. i wear this every time i go to sleep, very calming, soft, but i can understand how it’s a unique taste. most definitely not for everyone. 4/5

This is my sleep scent. It has abysmal performance, but it's super comforting, so I spray it on myself and my pillows when I am winding down for bed. I don't really pick up the lavender note, but it pairs well with BBW Lavender & Vanilla if you want more of the herbal notes. Love this stuff. Wish it came as an EDP.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS. After Guerlain Idylle, I thought I could not find a fragrance that I can love this much. Pure powdery-flowery heaven. There is no fruit that ruins it. This is what I am talking about. I hope this one comes to Turkiye. I will use it as little as I can to not to finish it.

Very powdery and floral, it's a light, calming scent. A bit strong when first applied but it turns softer as time goes by, it lingers very well on clothes and it's very reminiscent of baby cologne! Nice for cold or fresh/breezy weather

A nice, clean and comforting scent. It's vaguely in the family of Morrocanoil's Original fragrance, giving a clean spa like scent. A little powder-y but not overpowering. I do love this

It smells exactly like the original Imperial Leather soap or the Musk by Alyssa lotion to my nose. Very musky, clean, after shower scent.

Well, goodbye old friend. Both to the fragrance itself and Elaine for giving me this in grade 11... You will never see this and we don't speak anymore as people sometimes do going their separate ways, but I appreciate you for giving me the gift of fragrance as a teen. This was 1 of the first fragrances I ever owned and I'm just finishing it now, even though I received in 2011. This is one of the most comforting, peaceful and simple fragrances I have ever smelled. Just simply powder and musk. A light purple liquid giving a slight nod to a little hint of violet 💜 I don't know if they still sell this at B&BW, but it is worth having as a body mist. This will definitely put you to sleep before bed. Light and intimate. Just beautiful.

I'm not a BBW fan; their stuff smells very generic and sanitized to me. But I needed a cheap "just for me" bedtime scent and I wore Moonlight Path a lot in college before I knew anything about perfume. This smells the same as I remember. Very sweet lily with soapy lavender and a hint of violet. Others describe it as powdery, but this barely registers for me as a lover of powder bombs. This is a classic perfume scrubbed of anything that might make it "old fashioned" to modern noses. That said, it's still a pleasant scent. It lasts a long time on clothes and is nice to wake up to. I'll keep it around as a bedtime go-to. You can't beat the price if you get it on sale.

i guess my nose has changed because i remember hating this as a kid, but i recently found the bottle of the mist from over a decade ago that i remember from my childhood and honestly, i think it's beautiful. powdery, musky violet with just a hint of jasmine and a barely there lavender. it's mature in the sense of being powdery but it's also got a really soft, gorgeous sweetness. it's a beautiful, calming scent that's perfect for bedtime. i haven't tried the new version, but this one still performs so much better than most other b&bw mists.

With out a doubt, this reads to me as a powdery older woman scent.....but it's making me do a complete180 because I actually kinda like it. This is the only powdery scent I've ever smelled and liked, though I think part of it is due to nostalgia. I had the lotion version of this smell as a kid (and still do, she's going strong!) and it takes me back. The first spray is initially kind of harsh, but dries down quickly into a soft powdery white floral that's soothing and almost therapeutic. A classic Bath and Body Works scent for sure!

Did B&BW Change the formula? It doesn't smell the way the perfume used too? That violet& light lavender with a hint of sweet music and vanilla. I'd get the body wash, the lotion, then I'd spray on the body spray. Do my hair and makeup. Then hit the spots with the perfume. I know this scent extremely well. I haven't smelled it in years until a few days ago. It doesn't smell like it used to

I like this one very much. It really feels like evening. Not necessarily for a night out, although somewhere casual it would work fine. But at the end of the day, using the shower gel, lotion and then body spray, I get into some comfy clothes and curl up on the couch for a night in. I catch the scent now and then and I think wow, is that ever nice.

Powdery florals aren't my usual cup of tea but there's something about this scent that makes it comforting instead of headache inducing. It's a shame that I can't use more often because a close friend of mine that I hang out with frequently tends to get a bad headache when smelling lavender and lavender scented products.

i like using this mist as a refreshment, because its scent kinda reminds me of fresh laundry. its too powdery and floral for my own liking (in the sense of using it every day), but its a nice neutral mist i use when i just wanna feel clean and when im not in the mood for something intense and overbearing.

Powdery. Strong. I think it gives off a melancholic & mysterious vibe. Something about it is nostalgic to me and brings back memories of street lamps on rainy nights. I can see how it would be too much for some people. Very floral but it's veiled in powder and musk.

If your looking for a baby powder smell, consider buying this combo. It actually smells like baby powder and it smells really clean and powdery. I usually use this after my bath before I go to bed or when it's rainy outside.

Lowkey smells like baby powder but the baby powder smell at the simpsons ride at universal, when maggie puts you in her mouth, that kinda of baby powder smell but in perfume. Not bad but not what I expected.

I sprayed myself with my brand new bottle of Moonlight Path and thought “What the ...?” I had to look at the label to make sure I was indeed using Moonlight Path. Something about it has definitely changed. I first purchased Moonlight Path at least a decade ago, in the fluted bottle. I still have that bottle and it still smells fantastic but it was finally running out. It never occurred to me that the current formulation wouldn’t be the same. I don’t know what BBW was thinking by messing with this scent but they should have left it alone. According to this site, the original Moonlight path had 13 notes, but now it’s been stripped down to only 5. I want those missing notes back. Moonlight Path used to be fresh, airy and floral. I used to be able to smell lavender and musk and a few florals. Now it has been reformulated to simply violet and powder. After reading some reviews here, I see I am not the only one being disappointed. The original was a love for me but this Moonlight Path - I don’t know her. This is barely even a like now, it’s just a meh. Sorry BBW - I think you messed up.

Was gifted this in high-school, it is overtly powdery. Falls into the clean and fresh, but also cloying smells. Half a spritz will do it, for quite a while. I teeter between detesting the first few minutes and finding a note that drew me back in. Once it dries down it becomes more tolerable and office friendly. I find it too powder heavy for me.

I find this scent difficult to describe. I haven't smelled anything else from BBW that smells even remotely close to this. It's extremely powdery and almost smells like a bathroom air freshener lol. It's decent, I wouldn't use it as my personal fragrance though. I like to use it as a room/pillow spray.

A pretty scent but a little too musky and powdery for me to wear. My mom loves these kinds of scents though so I will be gifting this to her.

The body spray (which is what I have) smells absolutely HORRIBLE. I've had old perfume bottles that have "turned to alcohol" (as my grandma used to say) that smelled better than this. It literally smells nothing like what I've seen described. So much so that I thought I'd purchased a bottle that had been tampered with. Now trying to figure out what to do with it. Bad as it is I can't bring myself to throw it away. Probably will donate it to the Goodwill Store with my next batch of donations.

i bought this because i don't currently have any powdery scents in my collection. it turns out i don't like powdery scents. it smells like something so familiar that i just can't put a name to. maybe an old lady's bathroom?

I'm saddened by B&BW's reformulations and I'm getting weary of reporting it. It seems like some of the current bottles of the classics are intact and indistinguishable from the original formulas, but some are really warped. This is one of the latter, and sadly I gave bottles of lotions away. Instead of the balance of oldschool violet and musk along with gentle powder and mild sweetness, the newer stuff just smelled of sharp powder and went horribly wrong on my skin, whereas the older stuff emanated beautifully...to the point where it was called "sexy". The older stuff (lotions, shower gel and mist...the entire line) was truly a romantic beauty, but this is flat and un-magical hell. It smells a little like Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT (black bottle)...but bad (I love that one 🖤). It's an assault on the nostrils. Some of these duplicate entries for fragrances are redundant, but in a few cases I'm glad they're listed twice...as with MP here. I nearly felt like removing my earlier review and uploading another, or at least putting a huge edit in. This is a completely different scent. Did B&BW somehow think people wouldn't notice? Or is it that MP wasn't everyone's favorite anyway so they might as well redo it? The old MP didn't appeal to the masses, but those of us who loved it *LOVED* it. It would've been better to have just killed MP and made a new fragrance entirely, because I find this to actually be disingenuous. I'm enjoying my old stuff and I'm saying goodbye to yet another B&BW classic.

I got this from a friend who was decluttering, so this is my honest review. I think most "purple" scents are really nauseating, including this one and the cheaper versions of it they have at Target/Walmart/whatever (like Body Fantasies, because my sister used to always wear it lol). I honestly have no idea what note it is because I usually really like musky and powdery scents, I think it might be the violet. However I'm in my 20s and this is DEFINITELY a very mature scent so that could also be why

I just wanna say everybody here is lying, this perfume REEKED. I had it gifted to me as a kid and it stunk so bad it smelled like alcohol and old woman. It genuinely stung my nose hairs it was so overpowering. I used it every day because it was the only thing I had and it actually started to make me nauseous after a while. Great price, but at what cost?

Pungent cologne opening. Fades to something more reasonable and powdery after some time. It's unique in that this scent profile isn't popular anymore. Just my opinion. First time in my life trying. I remember seeing it on shelves as a kid, but we were more into VS body spray.

a lot like baby powder and soap. to me it's very reminiscent of tucking yourself to bed. taking a warm shower, wearing new pajamas, and settling into fresh sheets after a long day. clean, calm, comfortable, and warm. it wishes nothing else but for you to have a good night
