Moonlight Path

Whoa I realized I can actually smell the mandarin in this! It's more of just the sweetness or the essence, obviously without the sour aspect, it just blends in so well with the lavender/floral/powder/musk aspects that it's not obvious at all. This is by far my favourite scent from BBW, and possibly out of all scents. I wear the mist constantly. While it does get "boring" after awhile, as all scents do if you wear them often, it never gets gross or too strong imo. I never feel grossed out by it which is rare for a perfume (the enjoyment of most depend on my mood, how I'm feeling physically, the weather etc.) but this one I can wear practically any time! And it's always beautiful with so much depth. And it's so close to the skin. The thing I hate about fruity-florals is that they just project themselves and it's obvious you're wearing something. This is much more natural and isn't yelling for attention. I even use this as a room spray as well, such a nice scent to have floating around. I also own the lotion, shower gel and bubble bath but unfortunately the smell of those seem much weaker and diluted to me compared to the mist, with only the lavender and powdery notes coming out, and the shower gel and bath are almost imperceptible. The mist has so much more depth. I haven't tried the eau de toilette. Overall I think this suits any age and time of year. IT's not one you'll grow out of as you age but it also isn't too mature for a young teen. It's very soft and dreamy with a touch of sweetness.

I have a shameless infatuation with this dang fragrance. I wish I didn't, because many people hate it. I don't get many compliments (I don't get compliments in general), but I have had a noteworthy emphatic one while wearing this from a guy friend. He mistook it for his girlfriend's perfume in the air and said he thought she smelled sexy!! 😂...awkward. I've had criticism while admitting that I love this, it gets me teased, oh well...I'm into the sexy "grandma " (as if there's anything wrong with mature women, seems prejudiced when people say that) things , they make life more interesting. This is one that really takes a certain person to pull of, it really does...and I'm finding that I can do powdery/vintage-y fragrances extraordinarily well. It's beautiful, slightly melancholic violet with iris and jasmine (maybe it has other things, I hardly trust BBW's note listings anymore). The lavender in the top notes is gorgeous. The musky sandalwood base is a lovely ending. It's incredibly soft, and cooling, I find it very soothing. A romantic walk at night? YES. I don't actually think the title is BS. This seems to do better in spring though, as the white florals are a little too chilly to add into the already cold winter air, so I disagree with many of the votes here. It's the kind of fragrance that draws one in, but I can see how it has largely failed with millennials and even younger audiences. This plush, powdery and none-too-sweet scene is out of vogue.

When I first saw the name and the packaging of this scent (the fragrance mist), I was intrigued by its name and ever since, I've wanted to smell it but never had a chance because we don't have BBW stores here in my country. When I visited my friend's house, I saw she had it and I asked her if I could try it myself. I immediately fell in love with this scent when I smelt it (she had the old packaging of MP, btw). So I've decided to buy a full size of this because I'm also looking for a bedtime scent and I think this is what I want. When I received it, I was a bit disappointed (I received the 2022 new packaging). I'm a bit disappointed because the smell is a bit different from the old one. Maybe they reformulated it? I'm not sure, but I prefer the old one. I don't know what year it was, but my friend had the blue bottle with the purple flowers and blue-to purple-ish juice. I have the one that has like a rainbow hologram thing when hit by a light (sorry don't know what it's called) and blue flowers and it's like a painting or something. The juice is blue. I still like it. It smells powdery and a bit fresh. It's very strong on floral notes, so if you don't like florals, I think you won't like it. I still prefer the old mist because I find it more relaxing and more powdery than the new one. I'm not sure if it's only me who notices the difference.

While I recalled never having purchased this back in my late teen/ early adult years, I tried it last year when it made a reappearance in stores. After the top notes settled down, the scent kept bringing me back to that same time period in my life and I could recall seeing this fragrance in B&BW's stores then, but never really gravitating to it. Yet the scent memory played on over & over again as I've worn it repeatedly. Then as I was perusing Ebay looking at discontinued fragrances about a month ago, I realized where the scent memory was originating from. This is a sister scent to VS's Tender Embrace which was nearly a signature scent of mine for a a good while. Boyfriend in those days wore Jovan Musk and this gem was a perfect more feminine companion to it. Love it before bed when hubs is out of town as he finds it too "woody", which cracks me up as I don't find it that in the least.... floral/herbal lavender/musky..yeah. Now I wish I could find VS's Tender Embrace scent profile as I know the opening is different and there's something missing in the dry down of Moonlight Path that was just chef's kiss on me in TE. I can see the polarizing nature of this scent...but it's a love for me. I think TE would have a been a little less polarizing, more of a crowd pleaser in comparison. God please never let me lose my sense of smell!

The old Moonlight Path will never NOT be at the absolute top of my list. I have two bottles of the body mists in the older non-cylindrical packaging and a bottle of the perfume from that era of production. There's a quality to it that I have been chasing forever but cannot seem to find anywhere else. Do you know how many scents smell "warm", whether it's a oven-baked-goods warm or an "I can smell the sunshine" warm? Moonlight Path smells "cold", and not in a menthol sort of way. Call me crazy, but I can literally smell the coolness of night air in this one. It smells like standing in a garden full of clustered blossoms on a cool moonlit night. I can't get over it. I spray it on my sheets and/or clothes as, regrettably, the florals evaporate very quickly if sprayed directly on my skin (turns entirely to that white or baby powder smell people tend to mention). Unless I manage to find another vanilla/gourmand-note-free (the listing says this has vanilla but I do NOT smell it in the slightest, which I personally appreciate) perfume that manages to capture that elusive rural coolness of night, I'll be that One Person paying stupid amounts of money on eBay to get my hands on every drop I can.

I just recently acquired a vintage travel size lotion of Moonlight Path, and I can only give my honest review based off of that. I remember this scent being very popular when I was in elementary and middle school with the older girls. I thought back then that it smelled really nice and meshed really well with other people's body chemistry. But, this scent wasn't particularly 'me' per se, I really enjoyed almost all the other scents from Bath and Body Works at the time. I remember a few years ago I tried the lotion on my arm and it smelled horrid on my skin. I'm talking horrid, like cat pee horrid. But fast forward to now and I can definitely wear this scent without any skin chemistry issues. I really enjoy it in the lotion form, it's so soft and delicate but it's also alluring because it's essentially a musk scent (which I like but don't love). I can be very picky about my musk scents so this one is definitely a good one in my opinion. I can see this also layering so well with a whole bunch of other scents, but it's gorgeous worn alone as well.

I bought my mum the body spray for her birthday. I didn't smell it before hand, I just chose it based on what I read about the notes, etc. Sounded nice. Well *I* love it. I want one. May have to go back and get myself a little body spray of this scent. I like having bottles of body spray around, and I have recently run out of my Calgon ones. This is just perfect. Better quality (than Calgon), too. I smell (in order): lavender, musk, jasmine, bergamot, and sandalwood. Very little sandalwood, just a perfect amount. It is lovely. ETA: When I sprayed it, I got some on my sweater. over 24 hours later, I can still smell it on my sweater. Most body sprays I have tried only last on the sweater for 3 hours (skin even less). . It lasted on my skin for about 4 hours. For a body spray, that is brilliant. If you're not sure of this scent, get the travel size body spray, for cheap, to try it out.

I'm new to perfume but this has been my favorite night-time scent since it came out. My first love...It's the first scent that really took me somewhere special. There's a lot going on here and a lot of notes but everything is incorporated together. It's a very powdery clean scent and yet very woodsy at the same time. It's like nature that has been "touched up" somehow. It's also musky, which I don't normally like at all, and yet here I am. Lavender is the one scent that you would definitely be able to distinguish apart from everything and that sweet purple smell is so divine. I've been wearing this for so long but it still evokes in me that feeling of being in a beautiful mystic wildflower garden at night while innocently reflecting into koi ponds and streams in a magical but familiar splendor, lol. I love that place :)

So, I must say that this is a perfume that I always come back to. After struggling about which perfume to wear on my wedding day, I decided this has to be it. It's comforting, pretty, fresh, and sexy at the same time. My husband loves it and I got many compliments on it that day. Whenever I wear it in school (work), other teachers tell me smell "yummy." My students LOVE this scent! One time they argued whether or not it was my natural scent or not!! Haha. I just really love it- and I think you may need to smell it on others to realize how great it is. Pair it with the lotion- even better! For those who think it smells too powdery, my husband hates powdery scents and somehow described this as fresh and clean! I love my little Moonlight Path,and I hope one day you get to enjoy it, too- not too many of you, though! ;)

This is beautiful! So very comforting one could wear it to bed and have lovely dreams. :) The scent is very similar to White Musk from The Body Shop which I just purchased btw... Moonlight Path is very aptly named as it really is that ethereal feeling you get if you step outside on a brightly lit night (which we just had a blue moon this week!) and were to walk into a lavendar garden. And don't you just love it when you can walk outside on a full moon night and actually take a walk in your yard or garden! That is what this is!!! I smell the musk, the gentle violet, lavender and... earthy vetiver! I would say bring on the edp BBW! as I could just enjoy it all the more!!! edit... I have used this at night a ton and it is still there the next morning! I love it!

The body mist has been my automatic go-to for work for years. Anything with the word "moon" in its description is something I need to sample. I think the scent of lavender first thing in the morning calms me and get me ready for the day. My daughter, however, doesn't like it because she says she'll always associate the scent with me leaving for work. I cannot handle the perfume version, and I don't know why. The mist is relaxing and mellow, it's just kind of "there." The perfume is way too intense for me. I love the suggestions to spray a little before bed for sweet dreams. Maybe I'll make this my nighttime scent to give my daughter a different way to associate this scent with me, because as long as it's around, I'm going to have it.

Have I ever written that I love confort, powdery scent? Maybe a thousand time... :) This is another confort scent that I usually wear with so pleasure in spring. I found it on ebay...sadly Bath & body works isn't available in Italy...why??!!! Anyway, I bought it unsniffed, and I'm not disappointed! I don't smell many floral notes in this fragrance, mayble only the rose, mixed soooo well with the musk and the heliotrope. The result is a romantic, floral-powdery fragrance, that works so well with my skin! I also have the body spray, but I think it's a little different, muskier that the edt...IMO, the body spray is similar to Avon Soft musk, while the edt has a more complex and original smell. Anyway, I like the body spray too! :)

Been a favorite since 2009. My version of my moms white musk lol. Lavender and violet is romantic and deep and mature, but the musk and powder keep it clean and airy. Lasts a long time, gives classic vibes. A comfort scent for me. I wear it day or night although it was originally a night time scent I think. I forgot about it for a while until a friend was wearing something so lovely, and it was this! A reliable fragrance and safe for days when you don't know what to wear, or a good choice for a spray to keep in your bag. Always compliments when I wear this. Goes great with Egyptian goddess (Egyptian musk) from Auric blends (true 90s fashion lol). Good for all year round, kind of a mysterious vibe.

I received a gift set of Moonlight Path for Christmas, as it has always been a favorite of mine. It has changed, it doesn't have as much lavender or musk as it used to. The body cream is more soft and the lavender or musk is not as rich as it used to be. The body mist is mostly alcohol with just a little bit of moonlight path. I have not smelled the new EDT so it may be fine but the body cream and mist have been changed a great deal. It still smells faintly of Moonlight Path but it is not nearly as rich or fragrant as before. There are a lot of older bottles on amazon and ebay so you may need to check these out instead.

The first time I bought it, it was in 2009 as a concentrated air freshener version. My first thought was ''Oh my God it smells amazing and never smelled something so good!'' A decade later I bought the body spray for my grandmother as she used to love the air freshener. I would say it smells better in that form and less ''car air freshener'' like. The first second it's a burst of Jasmine and white musk. Then it lingers into a mix of jasmine, flowers, musk and powdery scent for a while. At the end it is still musky but soft and soapy. It's a strong smell a bit grandma-like, but over all one of my favorite.

Recently got the body mist as the perfume version is no longer available. Really enjoying it. Initially it smells like a synthetic lavender/musk which I don’t hate but it’s definitely very synthetic (I got the 8oz bottle on sale for $5.50 so I wasn’t expecting much.) It quickly dries down to a wonderful soft floral powdery musk and lasts all day on my skin. I find it cozy but still very fresh. I vaguely remember this scent from when I was a teenager but not well enough to know if its changed over the years, I was more interested in the fruity scents then.

This was one of my top 5 faves when I first discovered B&BW. I love it best sprayed on my sheets on rainy nights. Makes me feel cozy and dry, but still able to enjoy the wetness of the rain...uhm... not trying to be poetic here, but how does one go about describing scent anyway? It's deep and rich with large sillage and good longevity. It's rather strong and I would not recommend buying it blind. I suspect this is one you either love or hate. Stays on clothing and sheets for days, but for me, this is a bedtime scent.

This was my favorite scent when I was young and didn't know much about scents. I just remember the one time in the 90s/maybe early 00s my grandma took my sister and me to Bath & Body Works to buy something for us. My sister picked out Sweet Pea and I picked out Moonlight Path (and maybe something Plumeria as well). It smelled so nice! Now I'm 20-25 years older and this still remains a favorite, despite the reformulation. It's just so beautiful in the most feminine, dreamy, romantic, sensitive sort of way. :)

I'm 24 years old and I have been wearing this body mist for 10 years. So I can't agree with anyone who says it's "old." Instead, it's soft, feminine, floral and comforting. I have never been able to discern the separate notes in here very well, but certainly musk, lavender and violet, sandalwood and amber. My friends always loved this scent, and say that whenever they smell it, they think of me. And no matter how many fancy niche or designer perfumes I buy, I always come back to this.

This is without a doubt, a beautiful timeless fragrance. It's a musky, powdery, slightly sweet floral. Perfect for everyday use. Sometime in the 90's I remember smelling "morning glory" by calgon and "fresh white musk" by body fantasies, "moonlight path" smells like a combination of the two. I love this fragrance, all the notes blend so well and something in this gives it an amazing longevity. I can smell it on myself even after I've taken a shower.

I used to vehemently dislike this fragrance. Then, horror of horrors....I started to like it, really, really like it. I started to crave the powdery comforting sweetness. My bottle is almost done and I'm hoarding it and using as light a hand as possible. I don't know when I'll see another one on sale in my country for the ridiculously low price I purchased it for. Moonlight Path never ever leave me, you hear? (Slightly embarrassed face) I love you.

This is such a beautiful, soft, powdery, comforting scent! I spray this on my pillow every evening before bed. It's just so dreamy and relaxing!! I really love Monlight Path and I'll probably always have a bottle on my nightstand. I mostly get powder and lavender, some musk and some soft white florals. I usually hate musk with a passion but it's done so nicely here. If you like powdery smells definitely give this one a sniff!

I received the Moonlight Path bodywash as a present a few months ago. I used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised. It smelled like a very soothing aromatic scent. I was enjoing it very much, it reminded me of my late father and it was very calming. The lavander is so soothing, and the musk is just right. I would use it as an everyday night time scent for relaxation. I will definetly buy the mist <3

I love Moonlight Path, it's ethereal, sweet, soft, gentle and other-worldy. Feminine too, and alluring; it definitely lures people to me, who have to breathe me in and look all dreamy, and say 'oh how lovely you smell!' It's such a lovely light floral, with a sweet delicate musky note running all through it, and some lovely woods and patchouli in the dry-down. It's beautiful, comforting and soothing. I love it!!!

A soft floral, slightly soapy, and somehow mysterious. I like this very much. While it does have a fresh out of the shower feeling, it is deeper and more complex than simple shower soap. I smell lavender and soft creamy florals blended with mild musk. It's a bit rainy today and I think this scent suits this weather very well. There is something quite enticing to me about this fragrance.

I first discovered Moonlight Path in 2006-2008 when I used to be a teen. To me, it was THE BEST smell in the world because it reminded me of Givenchy Amarrige. A certain note in there was reminiscent of that strong powdery mature perfume. It was a sharp powdery mess of synthetic florals and musk. I don't think I would've loved it today as my nose got a bit more skilled.

I love this perfume! It is very soft and romantic. I really like that this perfume smells the same on me as it does in the bottle. I didn't notice that it changes through out the day either. I have a freind who doesn't like perfumes AT ALL but does like this one and always tells me I smell nice when I wear it. This is a must for my perfume shelf!

I love Moonlight Path. It is a very mellow fragrance, with lavender and rose(and you can tell from my other reviews that I love a good rose scent.)I used to wear it to bed but my husband hated it and ask me not to wear it. I can't figure why, I thought it lovely. He hated Anais-Anais as well. So give it a try, It is one of B&B nicest scents.

My daughter has the shimmer mist, which is just as heavy on the musk but also has a lot more violet rather than lavender. Plus a little rose, ylang, and warm amber/vetiver. Making the overall effect just like...vintage Chanel No. 5 parfum! It smells expensive and shimmery, just like the pearly shimmer in the liquid. What a hidden gem.

I have loved this scent since I was a kid! Something about it is very soothing. I never use this as a main fragrance, but as an addition to another as I feel this is too subtle for anyone, even me, to tell that I'm wearing it. It's a good spritzer for the bed though.

Another one of my comforting night-time scents. It's powdery, serene, and musky. I find that it lasts a long time on my skin and clothes (sometimes I'll spray one of my winter scarves and the scent will still be there a week later). Comparable to Avon's Night Magic.

I still own the original glass flower shaped perfume bottle of this scent and it smells as wonderful on me now as it did then! Real staying power and a lovely, powdery scent. So relaxing. I think, next to the original Cotton Blossom, I love this scent the best!

I used to have this on big bath and body works SALE , it was only 5$ so it’s affordable and matches my skin, now a days I can’t find it anywhere. And I’m not paying 10* its price for a body spray 👍🏻 I was known at work as the powdery lady because of this one

Enchanting, floral and softly powdery. It's a nice clean scent and the lavender is definitely the star of the show. Some people might see it as 'old lady-ish' but I find it romantic like strolling through a lavender garden at night under the moonlight.

This is one of the heaviest powder scents that I own and I absolutely adore it. To me it is delicate and romantic <3 I like to wear this one to bed sometimes as it can also be very comforting and calming. Synthetic or not this beauty is a must have!

I am so inlove with moonlight path, i like that it doesn't smell sweet and fruity. smells like i just came from a long shower, fresh and clean scent, not overpowering. scent is actually similar to body shops' white musk, only cheaper.

This is my fave of the BBW scents. Pure perfection, peaceful, relaxing, yummy. Wish it lasted longer. I bought the more expensive EDT, hoping it would last longer than the mist, but it doesn't. Save your money and use the cheap stuff.

I'm OBSESSED with this fragrance! I'm a fan of anything musky, and this is such a clean musk on me. I love adding a hefty amount of Alyssa Ashley, or Jovan Musk oil to the body cream. Definitely a bedtime favorite as well!

This is a beautiful oriental with excellent stay power! I'm quite shocked at how impressed I am with these B&B scents... many are very nice and as I said have great staying power!

My favourite from bath and body works. Strong lavender scent when it’s first sprayed but when it dries down it’s a nice cool jasmine scent. Better for colder seasons imo.

I am a man and I love and wear this scent...soft baby blue powdery smell. .kind of reminds me of Jergens all purpose cream (the one with the 3 faces on the bottle)

Moonlight Path is one of my favorite scents but it isn't for everyone. I like it because it is musky and feminine, but not fruity.

I love this scent, it's indeed addictive. Something I can wear anywhere and anytime of the day. Light and fresh...hmmmmm..

Moonlight Path came out long before 2007; I remember in the late 90's that it was one of three fragrances that were supposed to represent a garden at different times of the day. This was the night one. Each had a Thomas Kinkade -esque illustration on the packaging, as Bath & Body Works had more of a cozy middle American vibe to it back then. Of those three scents, this was by far my least favorite. I was in my late teens, and my favorite B&BW scent was Sparkling Green Apple. Moonlight Path had far too much lavender for my taste. Lavender smelled like my mother (ew for a teen!) and somehow gave me bad acid reflux every time I smelled any fragrance containing that note. Flash forward twenty years later, and it's a cold March night. I'm in my softest pink pajamas, eating the last piece of my birthday cake and pretending that all the cares of adulthood don't exist. And I'm wearing Moonlight Path body lotion. It's soft and calming, cozy.(And there's not a trace of acid reflux.) Sure, I smell like my mom. But at 37, I don't care. Moonlight Path is like an acquaintance that you always thought was stodgy and boring, but now that you're older and wiser, you appreciate them for who they are. They're a comforting presence in a chaotic world.

I almost hate to say it, but I'm wearing the body cream, and I actually have grown to like this. It's been a long time since I first tried it, and apparently my tastes have changed since then. Definitely try it first, it's polarizing. I absolutely 100% hated this at first because it smelled like nothing but dusty baby powder to me. That doesn't bother me as much as it used to. I get a lot more herbal freshness from it, and the musk seems soft and smooth rather than dusty and old. It's generally a cloud of soft soapy powder-musk, but it has a comforting feel. The lavender gives it a splash of soothing coolness that I really enjoy, a little like eucalyptus. It also doesn't use the same harsh, scratchy musk that all their newer fragrances do. Although it has a quiet, calming quality to it, it's not sheer, it's actually VERY strong if over-applied, so use a light hand. It also fades into the background pretty easily for me, I won't be able to smell it even though everyone else can, so beware of that before you reapply.

When I was in college one of my closest friends' roomate wore this fragrance and I couldn't understand why. I never liked it at all, most likely because of the powdery, musky, lavender. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I think it smelled "old", but there was something that I didn't like about it. Fast forward a few years - while pregnant with my son, my taste in scents seems to have changed. I received Moonlight Path shower gel as a gift from a friend and decided to try it. I was absolutely amazed at how relaxing and pretty the fragrance was!! I have since purchased the fragrance mist and lotion in this scent and I really like it. This is one of my "just for me" scents. The main "notes" I detect from Moonlight Path are still lavender, powder, and musk, but somehow I find it feminine and soft now. This isn't a flashy scent that begs to be noticed, which is a nice change of pace every now and again. It is inexpensive, and one of my go-to scents when I just need to unwind.

I finally finished this bottle today and I had it forever! Since like around 2015, so over 5 years. I stopped using it for a while and came back to it when I got into fragrances around last year. I didn't take proper care of the juice and I had it in direct sunlight and in the humid bathroom. And it went bad when I went back to reach for it but I started to take better care of the juice and it was revived a little bit. I also had the mist, and the composition of the mist held up a lot better after all these years. And they're about the same in longevity and projection, although the EDT smells as if it's "more" concentrated. As far as the scent, it's pretty much liquid baby powder scent. Perfect for a bedtime scent and for around the house.

I got this because I absolutely love anything lavender. Admittedly I cannot detect the lavender as much as I thought on myself. To me I get the musk, violet, jasmine, and lily-of-the-valley the most. This is a very grown up fragrance and not for summer. It’s soft yet very intense. This kind of reminds me of a 80s fragrance called Jovan Musk, although not the same but in the same family. This fragrance’s top notes are lavender & bergamot; middle notes are violet, jasmine, ylang-ylang, rose, & lily-of-the-valley; base notes are sandalwood, amber, musk, vanilla, oak moss, & vetiver; according to Fragrantica. This is one of those fragrances that can give you a headache if used too much.
