Noir

I was shopping along when I saw this. I thought while I was in B&BW how cool it was that they had something displayed front and center for men. I'm a mom of two grown sons. I thought this was actually a really good scent. I was a pleasantly surprised. Especially for my 28 year old who is trying to explore new scents but just cannot seem to get away from all of the aquatics and freshies. As he desperately wants to love Ouds, incense and leather scents. But, really isn't there just yet. As I (slight of hand,) introduced him to Lucky Scent and samples. I saw this BBW Noir displayed next to Ocean and some other cool-water type. I went for this and Graphite. This, the Noir. Is actually really nice.Very smooth, nothing sharp, or obnoxious. There's no way you could go wrong with this. Nöir can be almost ethereal if applied with a gentle hand. It's a young enough to be "not your grandfather's" scent. But it's manages to be mature. In the sense that you would be taken serious. Not asked to stay where you're at until mall security locate your parents. Though it's Nothing groundbreaking. But, it IS very nice PS. It "REMINDS" me of the (original) Perry Ellis Black. That really nice one. I can't tell you exactly which one. Because there's five-hundred flankers.. lol

Got this for my man as a body spray some months ago. Smells amazing, but doesn’t last long, and doesn’t project as strong as other fragrances he owns. Got the body cream yesterday and it lasts sooo much on his skin. Given that I love the scent so much, I thought of trying it on my skin also. And let me tell you it smells divine, it can pass as a unisex scent effortlessly. Cozy vanilla with musky, spicy undertones, great for a walk in the cold weather with leaves rustling around, or for cuddling time at night before sleep. I might buy it for myself also when fall comes.

Really comforting scent with an edge of masculinity. Opens with a sugary vanillic spiciness that reminds me a bit of Perry Ellis Black Vanilla Absolute, an underrated gem. Noir quickly dried down to a smooth, attractive and addictive musk. I kept getting whiffs of the application spot on my arm for hours after spraying it in-store. I think I’ll grab a bottle of it for the Fall season.

Been wearing this since 2017 and as a woman I’m completely obsessed and think this can for sure be unisex. It’s not as cloying and “in your face” as some men’s fragrances can be, and I think that lends to the heavy musk element. It’s a very sexy, sultry, night fragrance that is absolutely intoxicating. The amount of compliments I’ve gotten from this is also insane!

I have received this as a gift on two occasions and I enjoy it very much. Its soft, gentle vanilla is complimented by masculine sensibility, giving it a tender, nostalgic and melancholy appeal. I usually find BBW’s fragrances loud, which works well in shower gels and body creams, but Noir is well-balanced; just right. Their best male scent, IMHO.

Got this today. I smelled this on someone and they literally had a ten foot trail. I don't know how it's possible, but few fragrances do that. So I bought it at my local bed bath store. It's still available. Beautiful scent, not beastly, but good. This has the cardamom and vanilla along with the musk. Very nice.

Absolutely irresistible, I can't get enough of this scent. I have it in lotion but I want the cologne. Definitely good for a date night; I couldn't imagine wearing it during the day personally. Good for all year round, but it works a bit better for those colder months.

Of the soapy scents on the market this one is the ultimate utility. Always appropriate to smell like it. Its a cheapie so you dont have to worry about using the crap out of it. Very very inoffensive. Perfect for the office or for a date.

This is a mass-appealing masculine scent. It's fresher than the notes make it seem, but still darker, giving it weight. It's quite pleasant; perfect for social events. Not exactly a cheap option, but still affordable.

WOW! I'm BLOWN AWAY! So simple, yet so sexy and comforting... if a man I knew smelled like that, I'd be at his heat points 24/7. Do I need this? I might get it, damn!

Love this masculine but sweet scent. Bought it for my boyfriend. It’s got strong notes of vanilla, and I love to cuddle up to my man when he’s wearing this.

I actually kinda like this fragrance, I'm thinking of duping it with galaxolide, vanillin, and some spices and make it beast mode

It is a nice cheapie and a simple fragrance and I have gotten some pretty intense compliments from this.

I love Nöir. It has a very musky clean smell.

This is a surprisingly fantastic fragrance. I worked at Bath and Body works for a year doing inventory and stocking/etc. Of course I’d get to test out all their male frags when I was on the floor stocking the shelves and you also get free products (gratis) once a month, etc. I actually didn’t even know they made cologne or scents for men. While Ocean is the most popular, Noir was very new when I started working there and I loved the marketing, kind of mysterious and sexy. The scent itself is really good, much better than I expected. It’s a mix between warm and fresh, a near perfect balance almost. Initial spray you get a crisp, well rounded freshness, and detect notes of amber and vanilla which gives this it’s sultry, smoky vibe as opposed to just generic “fresh”. The drydown you get smoky wood and vanilla (almost slightly powdery), slight musk and spice, yet still very pleasant. Definitely gives off a night time, sexy, mysterious vibe, but lacks the sophistication of something like YSL La Nuit or an Oud fragrance. Great for autumn and winter, it’s safe and crowd pleasing. I got the shower gel and body spray too, all great products. I just love the name too, and the name really represents the scent well! The overall character reminds me just a bit of Armani Code, they seem to both represent a similar mood/vibe. Best thing is it’s cheap, but doesn’t really smell cheap. A winner for me. 7.75/10

This was actually my first fragrance. I was going through designer ones in a store, but honestly couldn’t really find any that I loved, but then I walked into Bath and Body Works and like the scent and picked it up and I really like it. I love how the cardamom and musk blend together, and from that I get a detective working at night almost. The sweet part of it really adds on to that as well. It is definitely a bit synthetic, but the synthetic part is very minuscule, so I’d say don’t worry about it. For $50, this honestly smells really, really good. I can’t comment on the longevity or projection because I know my skin is just bad with all fragrances on that, but it lasts a decent bit on fabrics. Really good for a cheap starter imo.

This straightforward, unisex fragrance is musky with vanilla undertones. For men, I associate this dark scent more with romantic settings or with fall or winter usage. It's not something I'd recommend they wear to the office. It's a decent scent, but not particularly complex or intriguing. As with other BBW fragrances, the sillage and longevity are on the weaker side, so be prepared to reapply it after a few hours. This is more like an eau de toillette than a perfume.

Really nice my girl likes it too, I personally think its good for whenever but mostly night time its a decent fragrance. There are fragrances out there that I love bath and body works doesn't have any but if there are two fragrances that I had to pick that I liked the most I would pick My signature and this. Its very masculine and amazing for its price I guess. Unless you got like no money don't buy bath and body works. 6/10 JUST cause of the price

I got this for my brother (who is VERY picky) and he likes it as a casual, sweet scent. It’s not too heavy and has sweetness but is still distinctly masculine. Good and inoffensive at a great price. My dad is even pickier, but he also liked it and occasionally steals my brothers spray. The vanilla, cardamom, and musk are all equally present and longer for a good while.

Yesterday, I tried both of them at Bath & Body Works and Sephora. Noir smells about 25% like Armani Code Parfum. It's a nice, subtle scent that's perfect for the office, meetings, church, whatever, gave me this nostalgic feeling when my relatives used to give me BBW stuff about 10 years ago, this was one of BBW's original scents back then!

Noir starts off strong and masculine, but the projection fades fairly quickly. After a while, it becomes very subtle, almost forgettable. The scent is warm and slightly sexy, but overall it feels quite average. It’s not unpleasant — just safe. I see it more as an office-friendly fragrance rather than something I’d wear for a night out.

This is bath & body works attempt at rivalling The Body Shop's White Musk, these two are not too dissimilar, both featuring a prominent, cozy dose of Musk. This also isn't very far off of YSL LNDH with that silky smooth cardamom.

It's a very simple fragrance in my opinion. Sweet and I honestly use it more as something I put on if i'm not going to leave the house and want the house to smell like "vanilla".

i can't really pick up on any bourbon in the vanilla, but overall it's a casual sweet cologne

i think it’s fine but my girlfriend likes it. so. i guess thats what matters o7

Not sure who adds the fragrance notes but this is by far a Coumarin fragrance.

This is a fairly pleasant, but slightly synthetic at the very beginning basic scent that has been GREAT to layer with. I personally don’t wear this a lot on its own. On its own: off first rip I get a synthetic opening that I can sense was meant to smell like the burnt/black cardamom. Then it sinks down after 30 seconds to a a clean musk mix with cardamom and a slight sweetness. The sweetness is very nondescript and not vanilla like at all, but still warm because it’s put next to the warm cardamom. As it dries it loses its cardamom and sweetness and just becomes another boring clean musk. Lasts 5-6 hours with moderate projection for the first 30 min- hour then intimate. Layered: Like a fresh fragrance a lot but it’s a little too off putting for the winter or fall? Just 1 spritz of this under where ever you’re spraying your juice and it provides a wonderful musk and cardamom backbone to any fragrance. Doesn’t add to longevity I’ve realized but is really nice in making fresh scents warm or adding a musk note to any scent. By itself this scent is only Ok, but I moved it up to a like cause of the layering abilities. Unisex, and the only reason it’s marketed as a men’s fragrance is because it’s a darker scent rather than flowers. 5/10

Simply put, this is a soapy, vanilla scent. While the notes say “bourbon vanilla”, there is nothing boozy about the vanilla used in Noir. I don’t not pick up any cardamom, rather the entire fragrance smells like a mix of vanilla and lavender. It is nice overall, but nothing very special about it. The fragrance is not overly masculine, rather it is more unisex IMO. At most, Noir has about a 2-3 hour longevity and will only project for about 15-20 minutes. If this had better performance I may recommend it, but the scent is gone by the time you walk out the door... Scent 6/10 Performance 2/10

Blind bought off the BBW website because the notes were ones I normally really like but honestly kind of regret it. Incredibly soapy smelling to me not just on my skin though, as I have a fairly neutral skin chemistry wrt fragrances, just in general. Honestly don’t get vanilla or spicy scents off this, just a kind of generic masculine body wash kind of smell. Others who I’ve let smell it seem to enjoy it more than I do, at this point I’m just wearing it to work to use it up so I don’t feel so bad for spending money it.

Scent is okay, I just use this as a daily driver for when I'm going to work and don't feel the need to impress anyone. Its cheap, doesn't last long, doesn't smell dazzling, and I definitely would never buy any scent from bath and body works again. Its okay. that's all I have to say about it.

No aromatics listed in the notes but this smells soapy and almost fougere. Musky and not heavy on vanilla. Pretty sure they snuck lavender in there without telling anyone. Probably the best performing B&BW scent for men. It's not one I particularly enjoy.

Good smell but disappointing performance.I usually use this to please my nose in my home wouldn’t even consider using it when meeting people since it’s so weak. 4/10

Another generic ok scent from BBW.

Firstly, I'm judging off of the 2017 version which is pictured above. I'm not sure if the past ones were a different formula or not. Personally, I think Noir is one of the worst of the already limited B&BW colognes. It's way too powdery, feminine and non-complex to me. It gives me hints of a powdery vanilla, a slight hint of sugar and musk. With that being said I tend to love Suede from B&BW because it gives a lot more mature and fancier scent than Noir can. I think Noir isn't for a classy occasion nor the thing to wear on a first date. It's quite pricey for $35 but you do get 100ML, but it ended up being mostly a waste since I couldn't buy a smaller bottle. Considering you can get Versace Pour Homme for around the same size and price, I'd save the money to buy something much classier and sophisticated. Despite my hypercritical review, I will admit that this could easily be loved by other people as it's a very non-offensive scent, I just personally tend to go towards more citrusy, aquatic and woody scents rather than powdery scents.

The top notes are very clear and citrusy with this feathery balsamic whirling around, there's some very dark heavy undertones almost like coarse dirt which I don't mind all too much however the warm bourbon vanilla although it's growing on me slightly I'm not a fan of it? I personally won't wear this.

After smelling many boring and horrid female fragrances from this company today I gave some of the male cologne's a shot and this one was the best of a bad lot but still bad. Cheap smelling. It also gives me a headache. It is a cheap musky soap scent.

I admit I'm biased in the sense that I hate powdery scents, but I can't stand this one. I am overwhelmed by a baby powder type scent and cannot find any class to this scent. Wouldn't recommend unless you're a huge fan of powdery/iris scents.

Noir no longer sells at Bath & Body Works as far as I know but I'd become dissatisfied with the few options men have for fragrances at B&B Works so I looked online for some of their discontinued men's fragrances. Noir comes in the cologne and the body spray. The body spray is available on Amazon.com and the cologne can be purchased on ebay. Comes in a simple black packaging. The fragrance equipped with only three notes of cardamom (ginger) musk and vanilla is not as long lasting or full bodied as I like my colognes but it's quite pleasant. It's a feel-good fragrance, comfortable and comforting, sweet but not delicate, a tad leathery, a touch powdery, something to wear when you don't know what else to wear as far as fragrances and definitely meant to be sprayed in the morning after your shower. Opens with a distinct spicy note, but not in an aggressive or even an Oriental fashion. It's a gingery cardamom laced with light black pepper. The theme is supposed to be black with a name like Noir but this has a lighter texture and it's definitely more Blanche than Noir. The musk and the leather come through as it starts to dry. The latter stages are vanilla notes with a warm creamy body. Noir has soft but detectable sillage especially in the body spray which smells as good as any Axe body spray. This is a very good fragrance for starters getting into colognes. Very youthful in my opinion and not for a more mature man although it can easily be worn by both. This is more along the lines of a vanilla based thinner fougere and not an Oriental at all even with the spice notes. Lastly this is a day wear casual fragrance nothing formal about it good for spraying it in the morning after your shower, a good one to bring at the gym if you want to spray this on after you've sweated like a pig working out. A simple but easy to wear and easy to love scent. And I wish B&B Works would bring it back. I haven't seen this at my local B&B Works or any in other parts of my state. Wonderful fragrance.

I think some of the reviews here are mistakenly for vanilla noir, not noir. Noir absolutely does not smell anything like sauvage or sauvage elixir. Not even close. I have worn sauvage in all concentrations for at least a decade. And I've been wearing elixir since it's release. I currently own 2 bottles, and asad, by lattafa which is an elixir clone. I also have sauvage est, and edp. Not really sure what people find so intriguing about noir. It's a bit floral but kinda of just blah. No vanilla either. I found 2 bottles at a local disconter and after reading the reviews I went back and bought them both. Not impressed. Definitely not Armani code either. Im more than a little disappointed.

I had a coupon for a free item.at BBW and wanted something for the fall/winter season for my hubby. I decided on the Noir since it didn't gag me when I tried the lotion, and soap. I thought I'd try the shower, shampoo gel on myself first. Wow....amazing! Beautiful scent from the get go, and the next morning I still had wafts of the smoky, spicy vanilla thru my hair & left on my skin from the lotion. I told my hubby it was a gift to him, and funny, I've gone thru 2 bottles of it in 4 months. Now I'm planning on getting him the actual cologne, if only I can stop myself from using it! Great scent for a guy or lady!

Although this is a mass appealing white musk and vanilla fragrance, there is a heavy dose of lavender included, which is typical and ubiquitous in men's designer perfumery, but not listed in the notes or accords. Noir just smells "nice" - and I cannot fault it for that. Office safe and well suited for cool evenings. It does, however, require a generous application to persist past the first hour or two.

The loudest among Ocean, Bourbon, Mahogany Teakwood. Begins as woody, masculine, bold scent. Not sexy, but has a character to it. There is also slightly sweet, aromatic and soapy aspect in it. In the drydown it turns opposite, becomes a unisex or "more male" type smell. The transformation is mind blowing, huge contrast in between the beginning and the end of the scent.

Noir wasn't exactly discontinued. It was re-bottled and perhaps reformulated similar to Guerlain scents. The core notes are there and it still a lighter Armani Code scent (in projection,) but performance is good. I like the uniformity in the bottles but the old bottles had a little bit of a better sprayer IMHO, though this is more ergonomic.

Noir is basically a cheap smoky vanilla brushed with a hint of burnt sugar on top, and a smidgen of leather in the base. It's an amiable scent but if you like this sort of thing you can spend just as much and get Givenchy Pi, the same scent done better.

Smells like Dior Sauvage Elixir but with the concentration of an EDT, try it out first before you buy it since the Sauvage Elixir smell doesn't last long, and dries down to a more boozy-vanilla heavy scent.

Simple.Dupe from CLASSIC by Swiss Army.totally my signature scent before but this Noir is worst for the longevity & sillage compare to Classic by Swiss Army

Not a bad fragrance. opens up a little plastic, but dries down nicely to a spicy vanilla that is pleasant. good longevity.

I have this in the body spray. Not cologne. It is a nice scent. Probably my favorite mens scent from b&bw.
