Oahu Coconut Sunset

I am absolutely and completely OBSESSED with Oahu Coconut Sunset!😍 One of my favorites along with Coco Paradise! I’m a huge fan of beachy/coconut fragrances, so this was the perfect B&BW find for me! Especially because I love their body care (I of course own this in the body wash, body scrub, lotion, mist, and perfume and best believe that I stocked up on it!) and I can pair this with many of my favorite beachy fragrances! Talk about a tropical beach vacation in a bottle! The coconut and monoi are what stand out the most to me! It’s also got a soft Sun tan lotion like scent only more chic! It makes me feel like I’m laying on a tropical beach somewhere with crystal clear aqua water at my feet, with palm trees around me, and with a tropical drink in a coconut in my hand! It reminds me a lot of B&BW Coco Paradise! I really love pairing it with some of my other favorites including Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Replica Beach Walk, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, JHAG Vanilla Vibes, and Bobbi Brown Beach! I think it adds to their allure and brings out the coconut, Tiare flower, and/or monoi notes in them! *EDIT to add* I have this style bottle of the mist as well as the palm frond decorated square bottle style that the reviewer above me has. The reviewer above me says that this is nothing like a tropical drink. I just want to clarify that I didn’t mean that it smells like some fruity tropical drink, but I picture myself having a more coconut-y tropical drink that’s in a coconut in my hand (as in - “holding a tropical drink in a coconut” in the earlier part of my review). I can’t say that I agree with her review on the other points though. I think that the fragrance pyramid is an accurate description. It’s very much a monoi oil type scent, at least to my nose. The sweet and creamy tropical coconut and lush floral sweetness of the Tiare flower are the most prominent to me which is why I get such a monoi oil type scent. The amber is also fairly prominent, and adds a sensual golden warmth to it. The closest fragrance B&BW has to it imo is Coco Paradise, which also has a very prominent monoi oil scent to it. They happen to be my 2 favorite summer fragrances from B&BW. To me, both Oahu Coconut Sunset and Coco Paradise are very similar to one of my favorite perfumes, Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines which has notes of Tiare flower, coconut, vanilla, and ylang ylang. Obviously though fragrance is very subjective, so it all depends on what you like and how you sense the fragrance yourself. I’m personally a huge fan of beachy/coconut/monoi oil fragrances, and own quite a few, so this really impressed me because it’s one of my top favorite scent Catagories.

I tried a handful of fragrances at Goodwill today (before anyone assumes anything, they were very well preserved), and this was the first thing I reached for. It was the older bottle (square, rather tropical "fruitiger aero" looking). The notes here make absolutely 0 sense to me. This is nice, but I didn't get a true monoi smell, nor tuberose, nor amber. So, I would recommend you disregard the pyramid entirely. It's a soft, powdery coconut. Not at all like a tropical drink. Sorry, I agree with the first review placed here, but not at all the one directly below mine. I absolutely think she's accurate in saying this is more "perfumey" rather than tropical. Coconut certainly is a feature, but it's like...the *texture* of coconut more than anything. It's a fresh, coconutty, clean white floral. Nothing unique really, but it's quite pleasant and a little soap-y. Not classically soapy, but kind of like Disney World resort soap. I like the name, because it's vacation-y in it's own way, and it's a nice bedtime scent. Very mellow. (Cross posted to both entries.)

I have this and I think it's one of their discontinued ones. It's not as tropical as I'd expected it to be and on me it reads more woody, and I struggle with wood notes. That's not listed in the notes, but it's what I get out of it, more prominently than the other notes. I'll probably end up decluttering it. It was stored properly and hasn't gone off, it's just always smelled that way. It's more perfumey smelling than tropical.

I have multiple body sprays of this, including the original when it first came out at BBW and I love it. It’s a tropical warm floral and definitely on the sweet side but not in a foodie way. I don’t think it’s a particularly sexy scent, more of a beach summer vibe! Super easy to throw on for hot weather. So disappointed it’s never came back. I have found the OUAI St. Barts body cream smells very similar to my nose and I like to pair that with this mist in the summertime :) I also love Waikiki Beach Coconut, but I prefer Oahu Coconut Sunset if I had to choose.
