Oak for Men

This is my favorite out of the four new mens releases. It has a lot of notes listed yet it is not heavy or too strong. The others (though good)have been done to death in my opinion and this one puts a new spin on the woody concept... The topnotes are well-balanced citrus-herb scent that is very airy and fleeting. One would expect such a combo to be sharp and in your face or loud and this is none of those things. The florals are dry and sweet and the warm well mixed spices are comforting. If you have ever smelled an oak whiskey cask, that is the predominate note in this and the flawlessly blended woods such as sandal and red cedar add to this. The coffee is not detectable per se but it must add to the overall richness of this as do the soft earthy vetiver and the clean patchouli tinted musk. An excellent fall scent with not too much spice or "dirtiness"... Sillage: above average Longevity: super Overall: 3.75/5 If you only buy one of these, this is the best smelling by far. It is very skillfully blended and may in fact have some natural components. It is a beautiful down-to-earth kind of scent that I kept going back to the test stip I brought home and sniffed it again and again and today, 3 days after spraying it on the paper it is still there, and still great...

Let me start off by saying that everyone is correct that oak smells like Calvin Klein's obsession but only in the dry down. I was never a fan of obsession because it never let up. It was too much for me. I always like the dry down of obsession so when I first tried oak and realized it's dry down was the same to obsession I picked up a bottle. I am so glad I have this in my collection. The top notes are so well blended like a blanket of woods and citrus. The middle notes change just a tad but not to drastic. Then the base oh the base you get that obsession feel and it's done right. I love oak because i feel they took all the stuff I don't like about obsession and made it modern. The longevity is excellent. I sprayed some on at 7:30 am and got a compliment on it at 4:00 pm so I know the projection is good. If you are a fan of obsession try it but hurry because I think bath and body wrks on the process of discontinuing it.

My man doesn't wear cologne...just scented deodorant and deodorant body sprays. That said, he is NOT into Axe or Bod...but rather the classic scent of Old Spice which I love. I'm also a fan of the classic Drakkar Noir, but I can't get him to wear it. So, I bought this BBW Oak deodorant body spray for him while shopping for myself one day and luckily he likes it...as do I! A great woody scent that reminds me of freshly fallen leaves in the fall after an evening rain! :)

This was the first fragrance I have ever purchased. Although discontinued, I miss this fragrance. It was so woody and spicy sweet. I got so many compliments on it. I remember purchasing 3 lotions and you would get the cologne for free. Rest in Peace to the entire Oak scent line.

Well of course, I never really had it. It was my brother's. I just love giving reviews. I like this scent. It's not too over the top, yet it gives out a masculine vibe.

So pleasant and soft, good enough for my son to wear, he picked it out as his first scent....the girls will chase him even more now!!

This was the first fragrance I ever bought. I was given the body spray by my aunt one year for Christmas and I really enjoyed it so I decided to buy the cologne. Even to this day it has a warm, ambery smell that I still really enjoy. It actually lasts a long time as well and surprisingly it's gotten me a lot of compliments over the years I've worn it. This fragrance has been discontinued for several years now though. It originally sold for about $30 per bottle. Now people on ebay are selling these for 3-5x that much! WHY?! It's hilarious. Did people really like this one that much or are people trying to rip off clueless people? In no way, shape, or form is this juice worth what it's selling for these days. Actually....I just looked online. There are seriously people asking $280 for bottles of this stuff. That's right, TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DOLLARS.....For a fragrance that cost $30 a few years ago. I just can't even.....Are people really that dumb?

I bought this on a whim right after they introduced it. I understand the comments about the dry down being like Obsession, but the vetiver and cedar notes lend a slightly sharper and vaguely smokey edge to the core. I like it though... I think of Oak as a very rough and tumble fragrance that isn't blatantly sexy, but certainly has some great sexy attributes. The longevity is quite good for such a low priced fragrance. I don't wear it often, though it certainly deserves a place in the collection. To the reviewer who compared it to sweet and sour pork? I worry about your nose... It isn't a hugely wood driven scent, but there is more than enough to satisfy the typical wood fan.

I find Bath & Body Works to be a place to purchase nice gifts for the family. Every products just smells good. I have used C.O.Bigelow barbershop products for years and will continue to... As for their Men's Fragrance products they do a nice job! Not cutting edge but they get the job done. As for the OAK Scent... It is what it is... Simply what wood should smell like. Blended nicely, nothing harsh to speak of. You do pick up on a slight citric introduction and a soft spicy musky woody vibe in the dry down. I give this a B+ cuz I have used most of it.

This is a wonderful spicy woody scent for men, I love the cedar, oak, and nutmeg. I bought this for my husband for this Birthday, he likes it, but I think he enjoys this higher end colonge a bit better. It is a nice fragrance to have, I like how it smells on him! :)

It smells familiar - that's because it's about 90 percent CK Obsession for Men when the drydown takes over. Not unpleasant though.

By looking at the notes listed i thought I was in for a treat but in my opinion it turned out to be a trick. This fragrance has no depth its somewhat superficial. I expected for it to develop into something sensual and energetic. Although its opening has charm the rest falls flat on its face. The base smelled to me a like bad blend where it was even hard to have on at times. Coffee, wood, nutmeg and so on, all mix up with no rhythm.

Very ordinary beginner's scent. I am no snob or anything but this lacks everything. Longevity and sillage are terrible but the smell is ok for the short time that you inhale it. I went with 8 heavy sprays and have decided that I will give this away.

This is my husbands first "big boy" cologne. I had to break him of using Axe sprays. Don't get me wrong, Axe is nice for very young boys and young teenagers, but on grown men, its awful. I bought him the Oak spray because I personally like slightly woody, amber and spice smells. That, and according to Dear Husband, it smells like one of the Axe sprays (think it was Phoenix.. cant be sure though). Granted, it doesn't smell overly strong of oak, but if you are looking for a nice, warm manly scent this one is for you. Ladies: the scent is slightly harsh with the first spray, but let it dry down a bit on your man. It smells amazing-amber, cinnamon, and some kind of musk. Very sexy. It smells completely different guy to guy. My brother in law wears this too... but on him, its more juniper, musk and wood. Either way, its lovely. I also recommend it for those guys needing a nudge out of the teenie-bopper Axe category.

After using a combination of body spray and shower gel, what I really get out of this is cedary wood and cinnamon. It's a little heavy but is a very pleasant scent to wear. It even gets better when layering with Oceans or Citron. But my favorite is still Twilight Woods.

nice woodsy aroma i had the opportunity to smell it at the store and i like it, the entire collection was nice since they had types of cologne for every occasion and this was a slightly darker more of a night time version

This perfume smells delicious on my husband. This can be a unisex scent since it's not too masculine. I wear it sometimes too, and it's lovely on me.
