Platinum

This is a review for Platinum and a comparison to Dream Bright cuz many say it's Dream Bright repackaged and imo it's not. Platinum is a cousin of Dream Bright, but more accurately it's closer to Signorina Misteriosa -minus the sour blackberry - due to its creamy like whipped cream element, the minty peppery patchouli and the gardenia-like bubblegum floral accord that I smell in Platinum - the silver blooms accord. Platinum also has the sugared subtly tart bergamot of Candy Apple Cauldron but spicy and dark. The Platinum lotion smells differently than the mist, sweeter juicier and better, like a hybrid of Misteriosa and Libre Ysl due to the bergamot note common with Libre and the fizzy patchouli here reminiscent of the fizzy orange blossom of Libre and bbw Petal Parade, and since I smell some Libre type of jasmine in Platinum aside from the tuberose that I detect. I also get a subtle solar orange blossom in the lotion too just like Libre's orange blossom. The bergamot in the lotion of Platinum isn't like Candy Apple Cauldron, how weird, it's more like the fresh Libre bergamot. In the mist I also smell the solar waxy orange blossom on my skin in the opening more intensely and fizzy, but not quite like the orange blossom of Libre. I wish the mist smelled just like the juicy sweet milky lotion. Both Misteriosa and Platinum have a creamy element like the whipped cream note of Misteriosa. The creamy element is more vanilla-like and nutty in the lotion than in the mist. Usually jasmine and vanilla may give a nutty feel in a scent. In the mist I get the nutty feel later on, not in the opening. The lotion is amazing, I can't stop using it. Platinum has Libre's heady jasmine vibe in the lotion, not as high-pitched as the jasmine in bbw Pure wonder but equally indolic, with some of that fresh suntan lotion effect of Libre. As for dream Bright both have a deep scent and a spice to them, but Dream Bright is brighter, as its name denotes, with some of the Pure Wonder ozonic-sweet floral vein to it, with sparkling juicy sweet berries matching the bottle's colors, and a very mild sour spice more playful than Into The Night's amber-y sour spice, while Platinum lacks the fruity sweet berry element completely and nothing berry-sour here aside from the bergamot's very subtle tartness. People seem to mistake the sweet floral accord for berry sweetness in Platinum. The sour spice in Dream Bright stems from the "night blooming orchid" along with the sour-sweet berries effect, and it's not patchouli peppery, while Platinum has a darker minty almost smoky patchouli spice in the mist, which is not smoky or peppery in the lotion and milder more minty. Platinum also lacks the high-pitched fresh jasmine-loaded Pure Wonder element of Dream Bright. I like the lotion's scent more which is sweeter, with more intense bubblegum creamy florals giving suntan lotion Libre-style, and so I pair it with Petal Parade which is like a fresher Libre. It's weird how the lotion opens very creamy floral and with Libre's fresh bergamot -vanilla - jasmine and some orange blossom with the signature suntan lotion vibe and becomes spicier patchouli like misteriosa progressively not right away, while the mist opens less juicy-creamy and more spicy patch-peppery kinda smoky with waxy sweet orange blossom and becomes creamier softer later on, with the fresh sweet dark Candy Apple Cauldron's bergamot, and the bubblegum "silver blooms" note more subtle. Platinum deviates from the berry sour fruity or plum league of Dark Kiss, Dream Bright and Into The Night or Ballet Night. Dream Bright comparison to similar scents. Dream Bright is closer to Dark Kiss and to Into The Night which is very ambery spicy and more sour and darker than Dream Bright. Dream Bright is also close to the plumy amber-y warmer Ballet Nights which has the Blush Cardigan's wine-like sweetness without its heady violet note. Dream Bright btw is milder than Into the Night which I never really liked due to the overly sour peppery patchouli-like amber, but Into the Night is still in that berry league of Dark Kiss and Dream Bright. Dark Kiss is the darker spicy incense version of Midnight Fantasy we all know that. Dream Bright is the most playful youthful spicy one, not as fruity sour and sweet as Midnight Fantasy tho which lacks any mature spice and was my absolute favorite for years.

It's finally on Fragrantica! Platinum is one of Bath & Body Works' best releases in a while! It's sophisticated and stands out in a sea of basic, sugary floral scents. It's clean in a subtly sexy way. I don't know how they did it! The notes blend so well that they're hard to point out. I don't usually like heavy musk, patchouli, or bergamot, but somehow I like this so much that I even bought the moisturizing body wash! The patchouli is not dirty; rather, it adds a sweet, earthy distinction (sex appeal) that keeps it from being your run-of-the-mill "freshie". It has a slight "sparkling" effect as the name implies (bergamot). Yet, there's also a cozy softness about it (musk). This scent is so sublime it's hard to describe! I haven't tried the perfume (my review is based on the body spray) so I'm curious to see if it's different... or better! If you like clean, fresh scents, try Platinum. It's unique, modern, and addictive! TRUST ME - JUST GET IT!!

This smells NOTHING like Kayali Wedding Silk Santal. Just no. I strongly disliked this when it first came out. Fast forward 8 months & it's now become my current obsession after giving it another chance. It's different from the standard Bath & Body Works offerings. More mature & sophisticated. Along the lines of 'Into The Night' but smoother and far less aggressive. The patchouli is so incredibly subtle. As a hard-core Lushie, I know my patchouli! There's only "juuuuuusssst" enough to give the bergamot & musk some lasting power. Glad came around to this before they inevitably discontinue it.

This isn’t the type of fragrance I'd typically go for, but I picked it up on sale after reading the reviews. I’m so glad I did. The opening didn’t fully win me over at first, but as it dried down I kept catching sweet, elegant wafts in the air and realized it was this perfume. It’s a beautiful fruity-floral that smells refined and high-end. Clean, sophisticated, lightly sparkling, and subtly sexy, it works effortlessly for day or night, year-round. I also agree with annkkerf the drydown does have a similar vibe to Gaultier Divine Jean Paul Gaultier. 8/10 Sillage 7/10 Longevity 6/10

The first thing that comes to my mind when I smell Platinum is fresh droplets of rain falling on lush green grass. In a sea of sugary sweetness of recent times, this one feels like a breath of fresh air. Opens with a burst of fresh bergamot and soft floral notes, giving it a refined and elegant feel. The musk is subtle while patchouli slowly emerges later, adding a beautiful earthy-green depth to the fragrance. What I really love is how luxurious it smells for a body mist and gives perfume-like vibes. Also it has an uncanny resemblance to Prada Paradoxe.

Platinum is one of those scents that immediately gives old money vibes, in the best way. It’s sophisticated, clean, and effortlessly luxurious. Very elegant scent. There’s something incredibly addictive about it; the kind of fragrance you keep wanting to smell again because it feels both refined and comforting. It has that “smells expensive” quality without ever being overpowering. Alluring, polished, and timeless, Platinum is the perfect fragrance if you want something that makes a quiet but unforgettable statement. I’m happy I bought it.

this is one of the most UNDERRATED bbw core fragrances of all time! it smells like the drydown jean paul gaultier's "divine" perfume (which is my signature during spring/summer), which is CRAZYY. i've worn this perfume while working (i was running around my store practically SWEATING) and i could still smell it after my shift! honestly, you could wear this perfume year round and not get questioned for it. if this scent gets removed from bbw's core scents I WILL RIOT!!

Bought it yesterday on a whim alongside the matching body lotion (use both for boosted effect.) Stayed on me all afternoon, night, morning, and now into the noon! Sweet, musky, ever so hesitantly bordering on heavy. Gives slight hints of creamy whipped vanilla behind the bergamot. Doesn't leave any gross or sticky feeling on your skin either. Cheap as hell, I bought it for maybe 5 dollars and tbh it is entirely worth it.

The first impression definitely gives a very luxurious perfume impression (I'm not very familiar with luxury fragrances, so I can't identify exactly what it smells like, but think late night gala in a silver dress). The dry-down is a very strong patchouli , so if you're not a fan of patchouli, I'd suggest to stay away from this. Overall, I like this, and I can still smell it on my wrist after 2.5 hours and a shower.

I sprayed this randomly when i was at bath and body works. I left then immediately had to go back because it was that good! It smells quite fresh, but also classy. The longevity is pretty good for a body spray, however it may smell like a grandma to some. The only similarity i find with this fragrance to flower bomb and good girl blush is the patchouli, however don’t expect them to give the same vibe.

I love this scent. It comes off slightly cold and metallic and reminds me of waking up and seeing frost on the grass. My mom originally owned this and I kept stealing it so much that I decided to get my own. I wouldn't wear it in the summer or fall, I think it's best for winter and spring. I don't really smell any of the listed notes, tbh. I like whatever I am smelling, though ( ⑉ ̄ ꇴ ̄⑉ )

This is my all-time BBW favorite scent next to Dream Bright. I layered it with Valentino BIR and it lasted for hours! I get bergamot sprinkled with a tiny bit of sugar and a touch of bergamot. It makes me feel like a rich b!tch when I wear it. I'm here for the mature smelling scents. I'm not a teenager and would rather not smell like cotton candy.

After having this for several months I think figured it out. I love to occasionally layer Flowerbomb with My Way. Platinum is just that! It is sweet but the patchouli tones down that sweetness. Then the citrus brightens it up.

This body spray performs well and is absolutely perfect layered with Montale Starry Nights! (I am a patchouli fan)

Literally the best bbw fragrance i've ever smelled.

The Silver Blooms accord gives grape bubblegum to me. Normally I hate grapey perfumes, but it’s mild here and with the patchouli it works. I thought I missed out on this and that it was discontinued, but then I learned it won an award and will be sticking around for now. Platinum is perfect for layering with musk or patchouli perfumes. I really hope it stays for awhile because it’s so unique for BBW. One of their best, in my opinion and probably more suited for more mature women. I know the young gals at my local BBW and my 23 year old aren’t fans of this. It’s different than BBW’s usual fruity, sugary offerings.

It’s so interesting how our taste in fragrance can change over time, because when this first came out I was not interested in it at all. A year later I am now obsessed with it. Such a pretty and sophisticated scent. The notes are blended really well together, and the patchouli note is not super strong either. I layered this with Kylie Jenners Cosmic perfume after one commenter said that they are similar, and they totally work together. I really hope bath and body works keeps this around for awhile! 🩶🤍

The opening of Platinum reminds me of 000 by Le Monde Gourmand, with more musk and powder, and a tad less sweet. However, they part ways on the drydown. Platinum's musk puts it over the top for me as the better fragrance. I say this as someone who owns 000. If not for the musk note, it'd probably be juvenile-leaning. But, with it there, it's such a sophisticated fragrance. I could do with less of the powdery accord, but I'm still impressed.

Very nice sweet patchouli scent. I've noticed that a lot of designer fragrances use patchouli, so this smells "expensive" to me. It's earthy, deep, and a little fruity. I think this is on track to becoming one of my favorite b&bw fragrances! (But it'll never beat In the Stars & Midnight Addiction, ofc.) Great value for the price! Buy this if you want people to think you have disposable income. (and also smell nice. that too)

I have both the body mist and the eau de parfum. What I smell is something reminiscent of Flower Bomb, La Vie est Belle and Good Girl. It uses the same sweet, rich patchouli as those fragrances. I can't speak to any resemblance to Donna Born In Roma. The mist and the parfum are the same performance and longevity wise. Decent projection, but weak longevity. Otherwise, I love the scent itself.

Update review: I really like this perfume, it is perfume perfume (so perfumy). I only like it because it reminds me of my sisters in the 2010's I am very nostalgic of this kind of smell. It is so basic and basically a summary of the popular fragrances at that time. I can't bring myself to make this a love because of its basicness.

I reallyyyy thought I would love this one but it just smelled like alcohol and something else(maybe the floral notes)? The patchouli and bergamot made me anticipate it a lot but I didn't catch either note in it. So I left this one behind for someone else who might love it as much as I thought I would. 7.5/10

I didn’t love it after using it a few times. I absolutely smelled a purple grape scent, and that was a huge turn off. I tried it again and I like it now! It smells very much like a ‘perfume’ and it’s Bath and Body Works so the notes get fuzzy. I do like it, but will not be repurchasing.

this smells like kylie cosmic to me which i loveeee, so far this is a great scent i can layer with almost every perfume i have, not really juvenile like a lot of b&bw scents, this is more mature but not old people-ish either, i really like it so far

Platinum reminds me of Kayali Deja Vu White Flower, especially on the dry down. It’s definitely not a dupe. Platinum is just a little less sweet and more musky with a lot less of that animalic note I get in Deja Vu.

Slightly heavy, musky floral. Ideal for cold weather. Doesn't last long like cold weather fragrances, because it's a body spray. But I like it.

I bought this today so this is my initial thought about it. Honestly I was confused, but to me it smells like a generic perfume. If I asked someone “imagine a perfume”—yes, this is the smell. It’s something I’d smell in my dad’s cheap fragrance collection, however platinum is just slightly better than them, the scent doesn’t assault my nose that much and you can definitely identify some depth and notes. It definitely gives a clean vibe, but not a soap or soft kind of clean, it’s more slick and a bit fancy. It’s on the mature side. The thing is I genuinely enjoy sniffing it where I sprayed it, despite being confused for now I think i enjoy the bergamot, it has this fresh uplifting feel to it, but the rest idk about honestly. I feel I need time with this one, getting to know her better. I bought it to get out of my comfort zone. It’s an okay for now, I enjoy spraying it, not a safe blind buy tho!

I smelled this, and frankly I don't get the hype at all...it smells like a floral woody scent in a very "meh, Ill visit my relatives who I don't really like but let's pretend" kinda way. I think the packaging doesn't match it...it's not a partying/club/modern scent to me. To me this is what I wish moonlight path by bbw smelled like. Evening whatever who cares event. It is to me a scent that "makes sense", and doesn't smell "frankensteiny" in that bbw way, and it does perform better than your average bpdy mist, so I'll give it that...however...I don't see the hype tbh, bbw reviewers always doing the most :s. The patchouli in it isn't overwhelming but it's there, for all the patchouli haters out there :).

smelled this in store and it was like a fruity luxury fragrance i mean but it became an almond scent, i have a neutral opinion on this i guess! edit: the longevity is impressive as i sprayed this on at 2 pm and its 9 pm and i can still smell it. the patchouli musk reminds me of almond extract in baking but it gets a little stronger and can possibly get overwhelming but not in my case. oh and if you mix platinum with sweetest song it will smell like japanese cherry blossom, at least for my case.

it smells like the stereotypical women's perfume. clean, floral, and musky. it's a little harsh and grating. my issue is that because it's so perfumey, i don't really have an occasion to wear it. on nights where i want to smell 'fancy,' i'd use actual perfumes. i don't know when to use this. edit: now smelling both, this is definitely the older sister to 'a thousand wishes.' i personally just don't like either, but if you like one, you might also like the other.

Update : so after a while of trying this one, my nose has matured more and I can smell it better. It definitely still has that average perfume-y aspect to it, but I could swear I smell something fruity now which is nice, with the sparkle of the bergamot, and something metallic. It’s really a scent for any time of the day. But i won’t be repurchasing.

It was exactly what I expected it to smell like, but for some reason I didn’t like it as much as I thought. It’s very going-out-top— like it feels like if that cheap ruffled or sparkly top your mom or older sibling wore to dinner 10 or 20 years ago was a perfume. It’s not bad, though. It’s glittery.

the initial spray is nauseating!!!! the bergamot sticks out in this. dry down is nice though. musky patchouli and slightly floral

This was a very simple review, the sillage and the scent don't match. This is not an intimate scent and sits weird as one.

I have the body wash; I got this amongst a few from the everyday luxuries line so I could step up my layering game since the fragrances stick to the skin so well. I got this one as my "plain" body wash for when I don't feel like smelling like something or don't want to deal with layering. I got this mostly for the bergamot. I don't get very much patchouli. This is definitely bergamot dominant. The patchouli is justtt enough that it adds a little bit of depth. It's not stinky or obnoxious or a patchouli bomb. I really like this, it's simple, clean, and a touch sweet.

OOMG. This is the one and only bath & body works scent of my dreams! Blown away by how delish and powerful this is. She is bright, effervescent, but moody and a little sweet at the same time. Smells expensive and smart with sex appeal. There’s an ambery musky base that is kind of primal (almost like honey?), and then this citrus grapey floral that blooms in the hottest heat. I don’t get much patchouli but for reference I’m into the dirty patchoulis. This is a crowd pleasing beauty with character. Heads up: husband went feral for this one- get it bbs!

I really did like it when I bought it maybe a year ago. It is a lovely smells but, I have picked it up again and it seems like it smells more like rubbing alcohol. This is strange because none of them rest of my body sprays have done this. The body creame is magnificent and has a wonderful smell. But if you have the body spray, just be aware that if you have this body spray for a while it may start to smell like rubbing alcohol.

It goes on strong at first, and I’ve layered it with the matching body lotion, but it fades after about three hours. It gives the impression of being a powerhouse initially, yet ends up weak and light. Keep that in mind if you’re hoping for a long-lasting fragrance, as it can be deceiving when tested in-store. The scent itself is a pleasant floral with an added dimension, but nothing that truly lives up to the name Platinum.

I only like this once in a while but I had to hide the body cream because my daughter keeps slathering herself in this multiple times a day. I prefer the body spray over the body cream. It begins to irritate my brain and I get annoyed of the scent. I used to really like this but it’s way too strong. In small doses it’s fine. I used to feel like a rich bitch with old money but now ugh it’s so cloying.

I liked it at first then i figured out what I disliked abut it.. Got a whole line in this scent, including the fragrance version. Initial spray I get grape smell? Then I get nauseated after when the patchouli comes out. Yuck. Excellent performance and sillage. Possibly the strongest BBW scent I've ever smelled

Platinum surprised me by how beautiful, and ADDICTIVE, it is! i can see the similarities to La Vie Est Belle, but it opens a lot brighter and seems better suited for year round (i personally like it better than LVEB). might not be unique or groundbreaking to most, but i can’t get enough of it!

Obsessed!!!! This smells Like wedding silk santal by Kayali and afnan mystique boquet! Layering body butter with these perfumes and smells amazing. Wish they still had the perfume!

I might be crazy but hear me out. I just layered Paradox Intense over the BBW Costa Rica Pink Pineaple lotion and I keep getting whiffs of BBW’s Platinum. It’s nuts!

I couldn’t find Sexy Sexy by Jean Marc Paris but it’s literally the same as Platinum. It’s so strong and it lasts for eternity.
