Pumpkin Swirl Cake

Gourmands can be very hit or miss I feel... They last a million years because their nuclear industrial strength notes, they can feel very smothering (they definitely don't make good summer fragrances I feel), and too much of it can make one feel ill from all that sweetness... But I really like Pumpkin Swirl Cake :] I think it avoids the biggest issues that gourmands might have as long as you don't use too much of it :] It's sweet but not overbearingly so, and it doesn't feel smothering!! And again, as long as you don't use too much of it, the length they last is a big positive :] It smells a lot like vanilla (unsurprising for a gourmand), but with a significant bit of spicy cinnamony pumpkiny ness to it :] It's a very warm scent too, I think it matches fall and winter time best. I think the best way to describe it is that it smells like a baked dessert fresh out of the oven!! If you put too much on it'll become sickeningly sweet, but as long as you don't overdo it you get a cozy warm scent to accompany you all day :] I have the lotion specifically, but I assume this all applies to the perfume too!!

this is definitely not a classy scent by any means but it's perfect for fall without being so pumpkin-heavy that you can't wear it in winter, and without being so spice-heavy that you end up smelling like a candle. the opening is definitely a bit cloying to me similarly to pumpkin pecan waffles, but this is much more wearable to me. the pumpkin/spice notes are definitely noticeable when your nose is close to your skin, but the sillage is more of just a caramelized, warm, cakey, creamy scent with just a hint of pumpkin which i'm grateful for since the pumpkin aspect of this is probably my least favorite part of the fragrance. personally, this is loud on me and projects quite a bit and lasts well, especially on clothes. it's no beast like pumpkin pecan waffles, but i honestly prefer that about this one.

This is Amazing , I hardly smell any pumpkin spice tho only in the beginning my nose is stunged with that pumpkin spice but at the dry down I get that sweet ooey caramel toffee smell I love it 😍, my only problem it does have this cakey smell that I realize bath and body works has put in other famous gourmand scents that I don’t really like only because I don’t want my scents to smell repetitive but that smell only last a couple of minutes , but when I smell it it reminded me of Happy Birthday without the caramel and pumpkin and also Joy sugared snickerdoodle . Overall this scent is really nice reminds me of a sweet milky homemade caramel

I love this scent. I’m so happy BBW finally did a pumpkin spray right. Even though it’s called pumpkin swirl cake, you definitely get more caramel and buttery notes and I love it. Smelling it makes me want to go to a cafe shop and eat and drink seasonal beverages and cakes. Literally want to take a bite out of myself. As a fall loving girly, this really makes me feel like it’s a crisp 55 degrees outside and I have a delicious caramel cake right in front of me. Highly recommend if you love gourmands.

pumpkin spice, caramel snickerdoodle, and vanilla. lasts very long on me, i sprayed it on my wrist this morning at 12pm and i can still smell it now at 12am. if you like pumpkin pecan waffle or vanilla bean noel, youll like this. the dry down is very similar to vanilla bean noel, with the spice notes almost gone. towards the start its more like a subtle version of pumpkin pecan waffles. pairs well with vanilla scents if you cant get the full bodycare set. definitely a warm scent

this was gifted to me but I looveeve this as a base/quick body spray. Smells alot more like caramel/toffee than pumpkin, to me. I'm sure I'm going to be using this year round(or might run out within a couple months) For a previous commentor: this reminds me alot of "Caramel Skin"-Phlur and also "sticky toffee pudding"-Demeter

I definitely agree it smells more like caramel than pumpkin, but that's exactly what I expected from the name. It smells like a caramel cake with some pumpkin cinnamon spices. It smells like what I imagine a comfy bakery that started getting ready for the fall season smells like.

It is basically a gourmand pumpkin pie scent, minus the pumpkin itself. It's a spiced caramel scent but it can be too much, luckily it calms down a little after a while. The performance is just like a regular perfume, you wouldn't expect that from a body spray.

I smelled this when a colleague sprayed it on herself, and it was LOVELY. I immediately fell in love with the coziness, it smelled just like autumn and I don't think it was too strong. Not even the pumpkin note, smells like bread, it's just wonderful.

The opening is quite spicy (I'm not sure if it's the pumpkin). However, once the vanilla kicks in, everything is wonderfully sweet, warm, and fluffy. The only thing that lingers on my skin is the caramel scent.

I layer this with a coffee-scented body lotion for pumpkin spice latte vibes. So yummy, I feel like an autumnal treat!

I have exactly one, non-returnable, bottle of this and I also gave it a decent rating, but not because I love the scent of pumpkin. Oh no...nope, not ya girl...I would NEVER spray this scent on myself 😳 I just like to trick people who do like the scent of pumpkin...you know, to brighten up the season 😂 It makes a great dog bed or bathroom spray in the colder months. Sometimes, I’ll even spray it outside to make people think I’ve cooked something pumpkin related...aaaaaand that my friends is why I can’t return it because with all my shenanigans I didn’t realize BBW requires the bottle to be at least half full for a return. Do with this what you will....toodles!

When it comes to gourmand fragrances, I always go for the lotion over body mist - it just lasts longer and feels more edible. This scent is absolutely divine - warm, sweet, and incredibly comforting. I loved it so much last winter that I actually saved half the bottle just so I could have it ready for fall again. This fragrance makes me want to curl up in my coziest clothes and binge-watch shows. I'm already planning my autumn nights wrapped in a blanket with this scent, probably watching the final season of Stranger Things. It's the perfect companion for those chilly evenings when you just want to feel wrapped in something delicious and warm.

Good sent! I discovered this when I was looking for a pumpkin pecan waffle replica. I *do* like this sent, however, if you're looking for the nutty, cinnamon pumpkin, this is not the perfume for you. This reminds me and my family of a sugar cookie, and I could smell it whenever I turned my head. It Is very sweet, especially as someone who isn't a huge fan of vanilla perfumes (or at the very least I'm not a fan of any of the B&BW ones), but very wearable! Overall, one worth smelling, at the very least in stores

An absolute win for the gourmand girlies. I wasn’t sure if I’d like this because although I love sweet scents, Happy Birthday is too much for me, and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin smells like a candle on me. That said, I don’t really get any cake or any pumpkin from this. Just a nice sweet toffee/caramel that is perfect for cold weather, and I’m sure this will layer nicely with just about any vanilla in my fall rotation. Delicious.

If you're looking for a mist perfect for autumn, here it is! Super sweet and cosy :-) It smells like toffee at first and then with time it turns into burnt sugar smell. It might not be for everyone I believe. It's definitely only for die-hard gourmand fragrances lovers. Performance is not bad at all for a mist. Especially the longevity. I smell it slightly even after a good few hours.

For those that want to smell edible and like a bakery. Only downside is it is easy to go nose blind when spraying this because it doesn't last super long, but spraying too much will become overwhelming for not only yourself but those around you as well. I also can't really smell the pumpkinspice part, but that's fine by me. Don't turn away from this just because it looks "childish".

Sweet pumpkiny. Fall. Extremely basic fall scent. This is the fall scent. When you think of the smell of fall, you think of this. This is your orange and red leaves, this is your pumpkin, this is your sitting by the fire place, this is your fall! It's a delicious scent, but definitely not a "mature" scent.

Nice cozy fall scent. Smell like a fresh bake cake with lots of caramel. It’s definitely sweet but without being juvenile. Great for colder weather. Works great as a day or night scent. Good staying power for being a body mist, but on my skin the sillage is lacking.

it has a really strong caramel scent within the first few uses and hours, but then it kinda turns into this vanilla scent. its a good scent all in all, but i just wish it had more of that pumpkin scent

it’s just so addicting....a warm cakey scent. i’ll get whiffs of it every now and then when i wear it. smells even better on my skin and lasts a good amount of time for a mist!

This is a fun and addicting caramel scent that would be perfect for fall :). It doesn't last very long, but I wouldn't overspray it because then it becomes too alcohol-ish.

You know those coffee crumb cakes that are super sweet? Imagine a pumpkin one with caramel filling. That's this mist. Yummy!

It’s a nice basic fall scent, nothing too crazy. Smells like pumpkin baked goods.

This one has an almost burnt (due to the toffee being an extra sugary caramel note) and toasted cake smell to it, like the usual graham crackers-pie crust scent that BBW uses, but much deeper here as if it's a pumpkin cake that sat in the oven a few more minutes then dipped in caramel syrup with the toasted toffee on top. The baked goods smell is not as light as in Berry Waffle Cone or Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, but it is of that kind. It also has the balsamic Vanilla Bean Noel vein due to their caramel-vanilla common notes while the toffee here adds that toasted and alcoholic-balsamic tone to the scent like a Bailey's liqueur, but it's not as balsamic as Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte is which is more pefumey and aromatic, even more balsamic without the baked goods note of this one (and it is my favorite along with the equally balsamic yet fresher, but warmer more feminine cinnamon-based White Pumpkin Chai and the summery salty Beach Nights - lets include the balsamic masculine Chai Epice by Le Monde Gourmand in that balsamic spicy bunch very similar to Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte. Pumpkin Swirl Cake is more gourmand than these with its baked goods smell, less ambery-balsamic than Chai Epice which has no bakery smell, just its spice). Sometimes the Pumpkin Cupcake shower gel is formulated to smell like Vanilla Bean Noel and so I relate Pumpkin Swirl Cake to Pumpkin Cupcake as a close dupe, due to the vanilla cake butter note/scent of the Pumpkin Cupcake (and the vanilla cake notes here).. However Pumpkin Cupcake also has a subtle aromatic lactonic scent to it from the whipped buttercream matching the light minty teal bottle version I have, and indeed in the Pumpkin Cupcake page they list "lactonic" as part of its main accords and it comes off slightly balsamic so I also relate it to Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte even tho the latter is far more balsamic & perfumey leaning masculine. So the difference between Pumpkin Cupcake and Pumpkin Swirl Cake is subtle: Pumpkin Swirl Cake is deeper, more burnt sugary and warmer with that toasted almost burnt caramel toffee than the brighter, lactonic, more vanilla-rich and smoother Pumpkin Cupcake. Pumpkin Swirl Cake does not have the lactonic aspect in it and its balsamic vanilla tone is much heavier by its toffee caramel. I prefer Pumpkin Cupcake from the two being creamier with a lighter vanilla experience, but Pumpkin Swirl Cake is a good heavy scent for the very cold months because of the intense warmth it radiates. Its toasted sugary scent is cozy and reminiscent of syrupy pumpkin sweets and fireplace. Both of these scents and Vanilla Bean Noel remind me of LolitaLand without the citrus notes of the latter.

This one smells just like the name to me! I love that it has spice without leaning into red hots or cinnamon gum territory lol. Very much a warm piece of pumpkin bread from the oven, with a nice toffee glaze on the crust. A lot of the spice disappears for me after an hour or two (i'm using the lotion) and it almost veers into something too sweet (definitely getting the caramel note most of all at this point) but it toes the line enough that I still enjoy it!

I bought this mist based on reviews. Is not exactly as I was expecting.. On my skin it smells like a straight unsugared spicy pumpkin. I don't get any note of caramel, toffee, vanilla or cake. It doesn't smell like a tart. Is a perfumey pumpkin mist. But not sweet, not too gourmand either.

Got this during a sale too! In the opening, it definitely reminds me of a pumpkin scented candle tbh. It takes about 5 minutes for it to dry down and the cake pops up just a little. It's kinda a weak scent. so this is something I'd recommend to wear at home.

im getting heavy caramel, cinnamon, vanilla. if i get too close and sniff it, it makes me gag. i don't know what it is. there's like an almost green/fresh element that doesn't belong. I'm scared to spray it on my skin. from a distance its fine, mostly caramel. also smells a bit like bread

Unfortunately an overpowering pumpkin spice scent without a noticeable cake note. I expected something like the cake note from "Lemon Pound Cake" mixed with some spices and a prominent pumpkin note, like they did in "Pumpkin Carving", but no, it`s just spices. Makes me feel nauseous.

I like sweet scents but this is cloying

As wikilove mentioned above, this was disappointing because it really did smell like spices used on meat. It smells like heavily spiced ham to my nose. I never used it again. This one isn't like Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte, where the pumpkin isn't too sharp nor too forward and blends so well with the sweet notes. This one is like pumpkin, and some savoury herbs & spices (I smell some strong cinnamon in there, too). No vanilla, no caramel, no cake note detected. They totally took the backseat on this one. I don't recommend getting this as your first gourmand scent. It's not. It's just spiced ham in sprayable form.

I’m honestly really sad about this one. I was so excited to try it from the bottle it smells absolutely beautiful: sweet caramel, creamy pumpkin, like walking into a whole bakery full of pumpkin desserts. But the moment I spray it on my skin, all of that disappears. What’s left is only sharp spices and not in a cozy pumpkin spice way. It smells more like strong savory spices you’d use on meat, not anything sweet or dessert like. It’s harsh, headache inducing, and even a bit nauseating on me. Sadly, this one is not for me at all :(

Soooo yummy!! I usually don’t love pumpkin scented fragrances because the spices can be a little too artificial and sweet, but I really get no spiciness here! The pumpkin is actually not the strongest note to me, I mostly get toffee and caramel with a hint of pumpkin. Super sweet and a bit creamy. Has minimal sillage and lasts about an hour. Saw that it was compared to BBW Blueberry Bundt Cake but I disagree. Blueberry Bundt Cake has very distinct fruitiness and has no toffee or caramel.

I don’t see how people say this scent is weak! She is projecting around me! I don’t smell spice,maybe a hint of pumpkin. On my skin this is buttery, caramel toffee! Damn near edible! The “cake note” only lasts for a few minutes (thank goodness) cuz I’m not really a fan of it, but this is delicious creamy buttery goodness!

It’s probably a personal preference, but this is too raw of a pumpkin smell for me. I love the smell of pumpkin mixed with brown sugar or the smell of it baked. Something closer to Pumpkin Cupcake or the Pumpkin S’mores candle. It’s a nice scent, but it definitely smells a little too like raw pumpkin for me.

I have mixed feelings about this scent. The caramel in here is so nice but the pumpkin spice translates weird on my skin. Smells more like carrot cake than pumpkin swirl cake. I was so excited for more gourmands from B&BW but this one may be a miss for me. I much prefer Pumpkin Pecan Waffles to this.

This smells very similar to warm vanilla by PINK from last year! It’s not a very smoothly blended scent I must say. But it’s really nice still & I can’t wait to use this in the fall and feel so cozy.
