Sweet Pea

I feel like this is a universal scent that almost anyone could like—leaning more towards the fresh and clean side, yet with a sweet undertone. sweet pea, it doesn't really smell much like fruit, but definitely sweet. It's a bit hard to describe this scent, because I wouldn't say it smells entirely like flowers, but more so just..fresh and sweet. It smells soo good, kind of like stepping out of a shower and all of your products were floral scented. It's timeless and will definitely make you smell like you just came out of the shower. I never really paid much attention to this scent until my sister started using it more, and I wanted to remind myself of her when she's not there. definitely a comforting scent for me. I really do like this scent, and it's a daily body mist for me! I pair it with my floral perfume or sometimes bubble bath from Maison Margiela, and it makes me smell like such a clean girl, I love it :3 This scent could be worn in any season, though it does seem more like a spring season to me! However, I also could see this scent being a winter scent oddly? It smells so fresh and clean, in a cold way. like, if you were to step out of your doorstep in a hoodie, jeans, some warm shoes, and you just smell like shower fresh, clean, sweetness. I think that kind of encapsulates the feeling of crisp sweetness, and I love it. It's also pretty long-lasting, which is perfect if you want to capture that fresh smell. i have the body mist and body cream, and I must say that layering them is a powerful combo if you decide to be a clean girl for a day. I feel like this scent is just objectively GOOD. Like anyone could like it in some aspects. i recommend this if you really want to go for that clean, fresh, and sweet scent. it smells so good! ^3^ 9/10

I really like Sweet Pea! It’s a very soapy, fresh, girly scent that makes it a super easy reach :) To me, it comes across as almost aldehydic because it’s so soapy. To me, the pear note is very crisp and sparkly which is what I think reads to me as aldehydic. The raspberry is super sweet, tart, and fresh. The musk and floral notes combined with the tart fruits is what makes it so soapy, I think. Overall, it’s super sweet, soft, fresh, and girly :) I think it’s a great spring and summer scent because of the light florals and how fresh it is, but I love wearing this year round! Since it’s so soapy, it’s a great every day scent for any season. I love layering it with the EOS Fresh & Cozy lotion during the day. It feels very comfy and casual, and a little bit nostalgic which I love!

When the old listing for Sweet Pea was replaced with this one, for some reason they used Pea as a note. However, I suspect that should be Sweet Pea (the flower, not the legume part of the plant), as it was in the old listing. My bottle from 2016 is a light and fun fragrance, mostly fruity with a touch of floral, and a less artificial vibe than most fragrance mists. It was associated with the following notes list: "sweet pea, raspberry, freesia, plumtree, peony, pear, tayberry, black currant." I have not tested more recent bottles, so I can't say whether there has been a reformulation of Sweet Pea in particular. I have noticed that recently there has been a trend of Bath & Body Works simplifying their notes lists.

Personally for me I love shampoo smelling body mists because who doesn’t want to smell clean? Since that’s vague, I’ll say it smells like a fruity, flirty faintly floral fragrance. This is something you can wear everyday, most people will not be offended by this as it’s pretty basic. But still a very unique and nostalgic scent. I didn't grow up with an interest in this brand so I was unfamiliar with their scents, but I heard this one was an icon, so I grabbed it for $5 on their online summer sale. Initially, I wasn't horribly impressed, but the longer I've owned this, the more I've grown to love it. So fresh, floral and girly. I have 30 "real" perfume bottles and to me this isn't basic. I use this before bed and at the gym.

Sweet, clean, fresh...the first time i smelled this, I didn’t like it—it was too floral-y. got the lotion and the body spray as a gift and i love it. reminds me of a slightly fruitier, sweeter version of what fresh laundry smells like. the florals are very complimentary, and the fruitiness and sweetness doesn’t overpower the aquatic/clean aspect. it just smells so good for spring!

Smells like a bubble bath gel! Literally like a pear and raspberry, maybe a kids barbie or my little pony themed bubble bath. I actually love this scent, fresh, sweet, clean and a little green. Not a sugar bomb either, just super pleasant! Also NO this does not smell like butterfly

There's really nothing like this scent. Even the body fantasies equivalent of it PALES in comparison. It's so iconic, sweet, green, airy. no wonder it's so timeless (got it w my free coupon from B&BW)

A fun light fresh scent. One of my favorites from BBW. Recommend if you’re going for a clean soapy fresh type of smell. Is also fun to mix with other scents.

Sweet pea is nostalgic for me.. My mom used to use sweet pea scented gerber lotion on me as a kid. The smell is so clean and comforting, I love it.

This is a very strong body spray! I had no idea it went back to 2007. I must be wearing a reformulated current version because I found this baby at my local Bath & Body Works. For me these are body sprays to wear when you don't want to wear a statement making perfume, EDT or EDP, a popular Macy's store or Sephora's store fragrance, etc, of an expensive beauty or a drugstore beauty etc. This is for a simple casual day to day running errands kind of scent. But it does seem to last longer than other B&B scents. At the first whiff, I am picking up on a sour raspberry note on top. Smells very sweet, too sweet and sugary like raspberry Kool Aid. I don't smell the pear because that raspberry is just too powerful. The sweet pea is there tagging along after the raspberry. But it's not a green pea or vegetable scent. It's a candy sweet pea that is enhanced with the florals of which there must be more of than just the freesia. The freesia comes through loud and clear as a fresh floral aroma. It's like a shampoo made of freesia. There also seems to be jasmine mixed up with the freesia. So yes it is a floral and sometimes I sense a touch of rose. But it never turns too green or herbal-floral, just sweet fantasy floral. The scent is linear and does not change. The dry down is a soft musk but it never gets too musky or warm. This aroma remains very sweet (think Victoria Secret's PINK), fruity and floral. It is a good intro to fruity floral but in the cheapest possible way and in the least interesting way. It is not a very inspired scent. Just smells sweet and good, girly, feminine, and pink. This is for when you want to smell sweet and innocent, girly, nothing special, just you know shower, put on a nice outfit and spray some of this on just to get you through the morning and noon. It does have very good sillage and projection and if you over spray the whole thing can announce itself before you arrive. So spray lightly and once or twice at most. Good for spring and summer when one wishes to smell sweet with fruit and flower fragrances.

YES, if you want a very feminine, youthful daily spritz. Date night? NO, too juvenile and fleeting. Office safe? YES, sweet but light enough not to offend. Pros: Cheerful, youthful, girly. Easy to enjoy. Cons: Generic, fleeting, and synthetic. Sweet Pea is a staple for B&BW. It's a super sweet, synthetic, fruity, youthful vibe that's actually quite nice, but overall kind of boring. Sweet Pea is a mix of juicy fruits without being too sugary or cloying and delicate florals that have a vegetal undertone. It is for the innocent, carefree and young at heart and soul. The notes in the pyramid are a bit different to those I detect. My nose smells the sweet pea and freesia but I don’t get much berry maybe a plum note and some violet. Though SP is a subtle fruity floral the slight vegetal undertone sets it apart for me from other BBW pink very sweet clones. Adorable.

Imagine BBW's Butterfly, but take the berries down a notch and bring the florals center stage. It's sweet and fresh, but more on the soapy, fragrant side. I like it. As someone who loves soapy florals, this actually isn't that bad. Buuut it's nothing remarkable either. And the scent doesn't last an hour. You have to douse your clothes for the scent to stick if you wanna wear it outside because it evaporates quickly on the skin. Not a bad after shower misting fragrance though.

this smells like lotion. thats the best way to describe it. im not usually a fan of florals because a lot of them are too overpowering or almost synthetic to me. but this one is pretty nice because it smells like a soft, sweet floral lotion. reminds me of something id smell at an older friends house in the 2000s or early 2010s.

please no hate on this legendary fragrance, my heart can’t handle it. sweet pea was my very first fragrance ever, it reminds me of growing up in the early / late 2000s. it’s the fragrance that introduced me to the world of beauty. i still own a bottle to this day ~ it’s fresh and light, and so pretty 🤍🫧

I have the 2025 version & it smells the same as it did when I was younger. Super nostalgic! I got it for my 8yr old daughter. Smells like a bubble bath or shampoo lol fresh, clean, fruity, and floral. It's strong, impressive lasting power, and a great sillage.

This has always been one of the cutest B&BW smels to me. It feels very youthful and fairy-like, and it totally reminds me of my childhood. The freesia and pear make it vry refreshing and cool 2 me, so I think it's a safe choice 4 humid spring and summer days.

I baste myself in this stuff and still don’t really smell it, but when I do it’s such a sweet, wistful, barely-there fragrance. It’s like in the movies when the protagonist has a flashback of his dead wife. This is what she smells like.

I had this when I was younger and loved it. It's a really safe, pretty, girly scent. My only complaint now might be that it's too basic... But I've heard that makes it great for layering with other scents.

This is such a classic that brings me back to my childhood. It is fresh floral with juicy tart raspberries, I just wish it lasted longer.

my bottle of #sweetpea finally arrived ^o^ to be honest ive never had the privilege of smelling a #sweetpea flower before so unfortunately i am unable to judge whether this fragrance is accurate to the flower :* although i would assume that the actual flower probably smells very different. this fragrance is mainly #fruity rather than #floral. first whiff hits you with a blast of #tart #raspberry that smells slightly artificial but not to the point of unpleasantness. then comes the rest: #sweet #pear #candy #floral #vibrant #light #fresh #sugar #musk #bright #berries #pure #youth #juicy. i know #pea is listed as a note but i dont really get any #pea . after seeing the reviews about how much the fragrance has been changed over the years, i wish so badly that i could get a chance to see what the original 2000s #sweetpea smelled like :-( when comparing this 2 the fragance #sweetestsong (also by bbw), i would say that #sweetestsong is the #older , #muskier cousin of #sweetpea . both quite similar in terms of #sweet #fruity #floral but #sweetpea is way more #tart , more #inyourface and #brighter . i didnt think i would say this bc i was so excitedly looking forward to owning a bottle of #sweetpea , but i honestly think i like #sweetestsong more - #sweetpea is so #tart and #bright that it kind of gives me a headache if i smell it too many times, and #sweetestsong is a much subtler scent which makes it more wearable.

The old sweet pea from the early 2000's was so much prettier smelling. It was heavier on the sweet pea flower and raspberry sugar sweetness that amped up the beauty that was my childhood, stealing sprays of it from my mom's room, wishing I was a grown up. This new version is very soapy and chemical laden. It's lost all of the floral touch that made it so unique and breathtaking. The lasting power is gone, too. I get a powerful blast of alcohol and a bunch of soapiness, with something citrusy or sharp-a bunch of artificial pear, maybe?! I really wish they would stop ruining my childhood.

Sweet Pea is just pleasant. There's nothing wow about it. It's a pleasant, clean scent and it's undetectable in no time. It's not one I'll re-buy, but since I got it so cheap at the SAS, I'm not mad at it. I'll use it up, maybe layer it with something with more oomph.

For what little votes there are currently on the notes, I'm surprised pea is leading so far. I actually recall this being so much more plant-y and backyard garden smelling back in the early 2000s :( My sister and a friend of mine both owned this, and it was much more distinctive and less heavy on the fruits. Now it's sweetened and more juicy, and the green undertone from the pea has sadly been minimized significantly. It also used to have more of a kick, the performance is much lighter. Old Bath and Body Works was a real "aesthetic" and I have much fonder memories of how things were. Even a "basic" place like B&BW carried more unique products and didn't sugarize (I make words up) or saturate everything with vanilla. This already was plenty sweet, and I don't understand why they reformulated it. Another bummer 😕 *Also, this was launched far earlier than 2007, Fragrantica is mistaken.

very intensely smells like shampoo to me. that or bubble bath solution. it’s not necessarily bad, but it’s definitely something to note before buying. that plus the fact that it has veery low sillage and longevity even for a body mist. sprayed a bunch on myself earlier and after only about 30 minutes i could barely smell a hint of it

a very typical bbw floral scent. not really any uniqueness or depth to the notes. I've noticed that whenever bbw has a raspberry it just smells like a really sharp headache inducing note instead of a sweet or sour fruity tone. don't like this scent

So bad that I use this as a bathroom spray lol...the pear scent is too sharp to my nose. Made me realise I disliked any pear note that isn't accompanied by vanilla. Fruity in the worse way possible (no personality).

EUGHHH maybe this is because I am a gourmand girlie and not a floral girlie, but I cannot STAND this perfume Maybe I can get behind soft rosy florals that smell natural but this smells like the fake disco trees from The Lorax or the pea under the princesses mattress🤢🤢 way too artificial smelling for me, it makes me nauseous Maybe if it wasn't trying to force sweet floral notes and stuck to a fresh scent than I think I'd enjoy this slightly more

i thought i liked this when i smelled it in-store, but when i got home and tried it again it was AWFUL! too sweet! this fragrence gave me a headache and made my stomach hurt just from the one spritz on my hand. taught me a couple lessons but im not sure what they were.

I have a prehistoric bottle from my grandmother (she passed at the beginning of covid) and who knows how long she already had this but it reminds me of her as she’d get this in the shower gel and lotion, everything. and honestly this lasts and projects a good while on me but that could be due to it sitting. I think I used it too much when I was little and eventually it gave me a headache, but I have come back around and this is one of my favorite smells ever. Definitely because of my sentimental ties but honestly it layers nice with a lot of my perfumes, I’m wearing a lot of clean green scents lately rlly j feeling spring and this adds a lovely sweet, smoothness to a lot of those fresh green sharper scents, without adding vanilla. It smells a lot like the caprina orchid scented goat milk bubble bath just so clean and smooth. I really like spraying this after a shower for bed, i have a stuffed animal that i had given my grandma when she was sick and ill give her a spritz too every now nd then. Creamy flowery clean and sweet. Pure and heavenly, miss u grandma🤍🤍.

(This review is for how it smelled in the early-mid 2010s, because that’s what I have) This is just so cute to me it makes me cry a little bit because nothing else is so distinctly the smell of my childhood that I just have immediate access to at any time. But I think I took for granted how good it actually was because I loved it so much as a kid. I was always chasing the darker deeper scents as I got older but there is something so beautiful and delicate about this sugary watery pear-y floral, it smells very “pink and green”, like being a freshly bathed little kid who went straight to playing in the rain. I have a bottle from 2014 (with packaging that’s actually pretty, imagine that) and before that I had a lotion that lasted me years. it is such an iconic and distinctive scent I think almost everyone btwn the ages of 20 and 50 could identify this. I have the urge to actually wear this out soon for the first time in many years but I fear I’ll end up transporting people places they don’t want to be. But it is beautiful and endearing to me nonetheless 🪷🌷🫛🩷💚

Sweet Pea came out in 1991-92. I remember it was released with the other early ones like Sun Ripened Raspberry, Pearberry, Daffodil, Flowering Herbs, May Bouquet, Plumeria, Green Clover & Aloe, Pink Hydrangea, Cool Citrus Basil, Freesia Fields etc. right around the time bbw switched to the Heartland theme which was at the end of '91 early `92.

Sweet pea is a gorgeous floral, soapy, clean smell that invokes nostalgia. The price is great, although the sillage is unfortunately very low. On my skin, it reads mostly floral with only a hint of pear. Overall a classic, inoffensive and sweet little perfume that smells much like something you'd find on a teenage girl's vanity.

This was my first bbw mist ever. My mom has gotten it for me, and it's just so nostalgic. Middle school me LOVED it, but me now.... definitely wouldn't pick this off the shelf even in a hurry. It's a pretty fragrance, just not my thing anymore.

Nothing else smells like this. Hell, even Sweet Pea isn't the same anymore. Close but it's definitely been reformulated.
