Sweet Pea

I am not particularly a fan of BBW - too many fruity-sweety and/or cupcake dessert teenager scents. This, however, I may be in love with. First of all, my grandmother had the body spray of this in her medicine cabinet when I was little, though as far as I know, never used it. I used to secretly spray it on myself after a bath when I'd spend the night at my grandparents', though since I sprayed it generously, I doubt it was as much of a secret as I hoped. Once she ran out, I forgot all about it until recently. I stopped into a BBW for some soap (their kitchen lemon is pretty nice), and, seeing the bottle, decided to spray some on, for old time's sake. I walked out with both the EDP and the shimmer body spray. To me, this smells like a curly headed little blonde girl around five years old, who gets out of the bathtub one fine spring morning to be snuggled into a big, fluffy towel by her mom. Mom puts a yellow seersucker dress on her and a bow in her hair, and they go out for a walk in the park with their happy-go-lucky golden retriever under the trees in the warming sunshine. Everything is beautiful, and all is right with the world. This scent is so innocent, so sweet and springy and fresh, but not cloying or overly fruity, and there is not a hint of dessert to he found. As far as notes go, I get a lot of raspberry, freesia, and yes, sweet pea. One of my favorite things to do with this is to layer it with Elizabeth Arden Green Tea when I first get out of the shower on a summer night. Nice for a date night outside in the warm night air, or simply for going to bed and dreaming sweet, innocent dreams. If anyone has these two scents, I strongly recommend trying them layered. It is absolutely lovely, layered or by itself. 7/10

I'm usually not a big fan of sweet perfumes (sometimes they smell too cloying on my skin) but somehow Sweet Pea works really well with my body chemistry. I kept passing by it at the BBW store since I usually aim for green/fresh perfumes however one day I decided to give it a chance. And I find myself going back to it :) It is sweet yes but not gourmand nor tarty....it has just a right amount of floral freshness to make it wearable. Sillage and longevity is pretty good for a BBW scent! Lasts about 4 hours on my skin. (Since BBW's body care line is pretty cheap, I bought the whole Sweet Pea set including shower gel/body mist/lotion...so that I can layer them and make the scent lasts longer). This is one of my favorite BBW scents so far I think..as it doesnt dissapear quickly nor smell 'thin'. Very cheerful, pretty, young fragrance...great for sexy summer nights when its cooler :) as it might be too sweet for hot days...p.s. I find that boys like these kinda scents :p

The bottle attracted me at first. The perfume itself smelled amazingly on the tester paper(reminded me of flower scents I smelled at night when Id take a stroll at my Greek country town by the sea). It lasted on the paper for 5 days till I threw it away! On my skin smells great but differently. It lasts for at least 5 hours. I do smell the dry down of it right away though, but its pleasant. The body mist smells like the watered down version of the perfume and it doesn't represent it well. This is a scent I def don't have in my collection. Paris Amour=smelled like sweet baby food to me. Velvet Sugar=smells like a candle, yuck - interesting dry down tho and Forever Red is boring and repetitive to me(smelled it on my waitress for the first time). Sweet pea is the winner!

I think Sweet Pea is an awesome fragrance, but as a guy, I could never get away with wearing it to work, etc., because it's so unique, and every other woman is familiar with it. So somebody would say, "Aren't you wearing Sweet Pea from Bath & Body Works?", and I would have to admit it! But still, take away the pink packaging and remove the word "sweet" from the name, and it's a wonderful, vegetal scent that smells exactly like green peas and sugar. Too bad it wasn't marketed as unisex: maybe in a dark green bottle, and with a different name.... such as "Eau de Vegetal" or something similar. Yes, it's very sugary, but so are many men's fragrances.

The classic scent of Sweet Pea never ceases to tire my nose. I'm not one for florals, but this one always captivates me. Maybe it is the sweet memory of my 16th birthday when I first received it, or maybe it's because my mother and I always had it in stock within our collection. The scent is a memory, a reminder of growing up, growing from a young woman to a lady. The clean, rounded scent is music to my nose. I don't sense any fruity notes in it, but can sense traces of musk. Overall though, just sweet, beautiful sweet peas! I'd recommend to those who usually don't go for florals, but want to give them a try.

I am a lover of all things BBW but this scent is one of those that I really love! I had the body mist so they do smell the same except the EDT is a little stronger on the nose. I love the raspberry and freesia note in this scent. I can detect a little bit of pear which is nice as well. This scent is very playful and sweet. I don't have the body mist anymore because I overused it, haha. I will repurchase in the future, maybe even decide to purchase the EDT instead of the body mist. I can't say what the longevity is for the EDT but the body mist didn't have much. Maybe an hour or two for me.

Sweet pea really works with my skin chemistry!! Every time I wear sweet pea I get SOOO many compliments and surprisingly everyone asks what I'm wearing. It smells just like gummy bears on me! My skin really doesn't really pick up the Floral scents like it does the fruit but I LOVE it!! I tried sweet pea lotion in the sixth grade and I am almost 25 and always go back to it!!!

This is one of the most 'simple' of all of B&BW's scents but it's one of my favorites.Just girly and soft-completely unoffensive.It just smells very clean to me and is a nice break from so many of the more complicated scents out there-I'd wear this over most of their new stuff any day.It's pretty much a single note scent on me but sometimes less is better:)

All I can really smell is, well, sweet pea. No complaints here. It's adorable and beautiful. Lifts my mood and takes me to the inside of the wings of a pink bird I call "God." I feel safe and happy and beautiful wearing this. Not complex at all, but I don't personally care. This soothes me. Perfect for Spring.

My first ever body mist back in elementary school, absolutely love it for the nostalgic values, less so for the actual fragrance which I felt has changed formulas over the years; it used to be sharper and sneeze-inducing, now it has been reduced down to its bubblegummy version

I really like Sweet Pea. A little student of mine wore the lotion and made my classroom smell so lovely. The bubble bath is WONDERFUL. I enjoy Sweet Pea, and it's not the typical kind of fragrance I'd like. Try it...it may surprise you.

This is a sweet scent perfect for all ages. I wore it as a teenager and still wear it into my 20's. It's light, not overbearing, and delicately floral.

My signature scent from BBW. This mixes well with Pink Chiffon or with Black Raspberry Vanilla body lotion or body cream. A Sweet and happy scent.

One of the only, if not THE only B&BW scents I like. I use the body lotion which smells like some kind of berries. Nice for the summer.

Very sweet. Smells like a strawberry lollipop. So damn good..... It's one off those scents that you wish was actual food.

This is a very happy scent. A whiff of it gives you contentment. Love it.

This is such a nostalgic scent, I'll never not love it for that <3 To me, this is a clean sort of sweet. The sweet pea, freesia and peony all create a rather soapy accord and it keeps this from being *just* sweet. I keep saying this, but I'm a sucker for raspberry. Something about that ketone scent just sets raspberry apart from other fruits. It's a indescribable tartness. The raspberry in here is sweeter and more ripe, but it still adds to offset things a bit. Overall, this is incredibly youthful while not necessarily being juvenile (debatable I suppose, but I feel comfortable in it in my 30s). I enjoy the body care, and it's easy to share with my daughters. *update* I've destashed this because I'm planning on giving my bottle of spray and lotion to my younger sister. She always had this growing up (I had Cucumber Melon and Black Raspberry Vanilla), and I think it would be a hoot to give it to her for her upcoming birthday! <3<3 **update of an update** Was gifted a bottle of this and now have it again. Funny how the universe works.

Once upon a time, way back when this fragrance was relatively new, I used to really love it. It's pretty, flirty, and sweet, and there seems to be a current of violets in there--and I do enjoy the scent of violets. I kept the body spray in the refrigerator for an extra cooling spritz, and I used it often. As the years went by, a lovely family member gifted me with the edt, at least 2 bottles of the body spray, and a wallflower. And...I burned out on Sweet Pea. I now found it less refreshing and more cloying, as if Kool-Ade had created a floral version of their drink. I will always treasure my bottle of edt, as a reminder of the wonderful friend who gave it to me, and of a particular time in my life. I hope to use up more of the body spray, but I doubt that I will repurchase. I would recommend it to others, because it is pink and frilly and fun. But I would also caution them to use it sparingly, because sometimes too much of a good thing is just too much.

Sweet Pea has some truly sweet fruits but without being sugary or cloying, as well as delicate florals with an ongoing vegetal undertone. It is for the innocent, carefree soul and the young at heart. The notes listed in the pyramid are slightly different from those in the description above. My nose agrees with those in the description having violets and rhubarb as well as the sweet pea and freesia. I don’t get much berry maybe plum. My bottle is the EDT pictured above (I wish they kept the unique bottles of the past but lost those gaudy, humongous plastic caps). Though a subtle fruity floral this slight vegetal tone sets it apart from their other thousand pink very sweet clones. Lovely.

I got this as a gift way back when and didn't use it--and totally forgot about it until recently someone mentioned it. So I picked up a bottle. I'm glad I did! It's a sweet floral, not cloying. I could see a woman of any age wearing this. It's delicate and pleasant and suitable for all seasons, though I think it would be at its best in the spring, when it's getting warm but isn't yet hot. It's reminiscent of White Shoulders without the powder or jasmine, just pure floral sweetness to my nose.

I got the buy 3 get 3 free deal at Bath and body works. I wouldnt have never bought this if it wasnt for the buy three get three free sale. i thought why not try it. i havent actually smelled it on my skin yet....just from inside the plastic top. Its OK i guess. I dont LOVE it....but its ok....i could see myself putting this on if i want to smell different....or if i just want to switch things up a bit....cause i have a lot of fragrances but i dont think it will ever be a favorite of mine.

To me the modern day version is Perfect by Marc Jacobs which is odd since they share none of the same notes. My only guess is that the rhubarb in Perfect has the same tart fruitiness you get from Sweet Pea. IDK about anyone else but there are certain scents that are great as body sprays but not so hot as concentrated perfumes. This is one I would not wear as an EDP or EDT. It's not sophisticated enough to be a perfume but works well as a spritz out of the shower.

A sweet, soft, fresh floral, smells pink and pretty. This is safe bet for spring and summer, daytime, casual outings or just wanting to smell good. This is very simple and linear, with sweet pea the star of the show. The supporting notes are very subtle but they do lend a harmony to this almost soliflore. This is not glamorous or seductive by any stretch, its an innocent scent, wearable by not only the young, but also the young at heart.

this used to be my scent in middle school, though now i think i've outgrown it. as nice as it smells, it doesnt last a long time, like, at all. the smell can get kind of...um...annoying to smell? and personally even with how much i liked the smell, i did definetly give myself a couple headaches from how much i would put on LOL. a very great scent if you're a 13 year old girl who wants to smell good and thats about it.

This smells great but i use it as a air freshener i spray it on my pillows and sheets in my kids room and i use this in the wall flowers and candles and room spray and when i get out of the shower and do not plan to go anywhere just hanging out at the house all day i think its a little to young for me im 38, but i will wear it to the beach or lake!!!!

It's funny how I was being asked by strangers for nth times whenever I am wearing this. Sometimes when somebody approached me what perfume I was wearing i have to smell myself first because I have lots of perfumes and sometimes i just grabbed whatever my hand can reach, so when i told them its just a splash cologne from bbw, i always put people im awe

This is a crowd pleaser. It appeals to almost every woman I've ever met, which is one reason why I won't wear it. It's like one of those fads everyone take part in, but they quickly become uncool 'cause all you cats are doing it. That's how I feel about this. The hype is rightfully deserved though. The scent is soft, feminine and sweet.

This is more sweet then I usually go for but it is blended well so that it makes a very nice fragrance. I really only smell the sweet pea and not the other notes. It is very good for a daytime spring and summer casual fragrance. I wore the body spray with the lotion and it lasted about 6 hours. For me, it's a keeper

If you're unfamiliar with Bath & Body Works, which I highly doubt, this is the scent that almost every girl in my class wore (albeit it was just the cologne). It's a very likeable floral/fruity fragrance. If you smell gummies and you're next to a teenager, it's probably this one. :-) Cute sweet scent.

another great scent from B&B! sweet (obviously, clues in the title!) but not over bearing, very "pretty" smell, very feminine, its by no means my fav scent, but i like to keep a bottle of it handy, very good lasting power, great value for money, one of my favs from B&B definatly x

Defintely a younger scent... I have the lotion and am not too sure what the perfume smells like but it's probably similar. It's sweet and definitely flowery. The lotion is what I think spring would smell like if it had a scent. I don't wear it too much, but still think its nice.

i dont know if the body mist and the perfume is the same, but im referring to the body mist. the body mist is so nice. i really love it. its a very sweet floral scent. the notes i get is straight up sweet pea. its very fresh, girly and youthful.

Sweet Pea was my first fragrance back in high school as it was for many of us. It’s floral, sweet and yet fresh. Not cloying in anyway. Its perfect for everyday just running errands. I’m almost 30 now and it’s still in my regular rotation. :)

A fruity - floral scent in all its expression, as some reviewers said, i'm not into sweet aromas either, but what i like of this one is the drydown. I noticed a lot of freesia and i love that. It's not a "sugary" fragance to me.

I mean, it smells good but it's just something I wear around the house cause it's not signature-scent material. And I don't want to go out and smell like every other woman on the street. I'd love it more if it wasn't so common.

OOOh what a lovely spring scent!On my skin it smells very fruity and sweet, like a bowl of fresh fruit salad lol I wouldnt buy the perfume version though, somehow this works better as body mist for me, little lighter ..

Sweet, simple, honest. Could be cloying if applied too heavily, but as a body spray, overwhelming isn't a major concern. Exactly what I think of when I recall sweet pea flowers, no more, no less.

I used to wear this all the time as a body splash. I purchased it as edt and I still like it. It is a very sweet, girly scent. I can't wear this as often as I used to, buy it still good

I first started wearing this in high school...and still years later I always pick it up when I'm in a B&BW. It may be a bit juvenile but it makes me happy just the same.

Idk what they say it was launched in 07?? I used to wear this as a young teen back in 04! Loved it as a girl...dislike as a woman. The wall flower is nice tho

I absolutely hated the EDT version of Sweet Pea. However, I find that the lotion and body cream smell great.

Everyone was obsessed with this in middle school. I wouldn't wear it again because it's far too young.

this scent is sooooo nostalgic for me like it is for many people, but maybe not in the same way. i got it in the form of a teeny tiny lotion bottle as a gift from a family friend when i was around 6/7, and i remember sniffing it all the time and rubbing it all over my arms and making a mess. when i was 11, my aunt gifted me the regular mist and the glitter mist and even back then i was hit with nostalgia from when i had the lotion! but now it also reminds me of being a grimy tween and hating the scent but dowsing my unwashed clothes in it so they didn't smell. 😑 as far as the scent itself, it's definitely very specific and very iconic. to me it has a very soapy, sugary scent, with a floral so bright it almost becomes green and earthy. the packaging i have is pink and green, which i think is the perfect color palette for this scent--it's just pink and green! a sweet, youthful, recognizable floral. it smells like childhood, although honestly, this is not my kind of scent at all. it has a pretty strong alcohol base, which dies down quick, but it's enough to give me a bad headache whenever i smell it. and there's just something about it, it's been almost so repetitive in my life; this perfume is like the definition of cloying to me. still, overall, a nostalgic classic.

This smells like a jelly bean. Very much spring, day time. It gets compliments but I've outgrown it a bit. I keep it bc of the bottle and bc my son picked it out with me when he was smaller, he used to call me sweet pea and it's super sweet so it's a safe and reliable bet if you want a sweet and noticeable fragrance. I really do adore the bottle too. A grown up/concentrated and less musk or boozy sugary version of body Fantasies cotton candy spray, if that makes sense lol

I'm really liking this scent so much! It's the perfect blend of fruity and floral scents. I thought that this would be a boring scent because it's so popular, but I found this scent to be unique, while still being fresh and not too strong. EDIT 11/20/2012: This scent has started to smell so blah to me! I'm also done with my mini body spray and I will NOT be purchasing another one! In fact, I've been trying to spray this around my room every night just to get rid of it.

All my fragrances from Bath and Body Works, are a gift, I didn't buy anything, and this one I do not like. It is too fruity synthetic, an exorbitant mixture of red fruits and the smell looks like gelatin. There is an aroma that does not end up pleasing me. Very sweet for my taste.
