Waikiki Beach Coconut

It needs to be on record that im the biggest hater of BBW economy, from the quality to quantity to the weird Sale culture it just screams “trash island plastic waste” to me, only once in a blue moon they produce something that isn’t totally tacky and hideous Well boyyyy oh boyyy they got my ass, they got my ass good with this one. It’s quite literally every. Single. One. Of. MY. Favourite. Notes!!!!!! Combined. With nothing else. No citruses or bergamot or some fruity pineapple bs. It’s every note i crave, and usually search for a combination of, all in one. So it piqued my interest but just as fast I reminded myself why Ive given up on bbw and shall no longer return. So i forgot all about it. Until, i was taking a mid afternoon stroll through a mall and one thing lead to another and i decided to be a naughty girl and do a quick peak into BBW, give a sniff around if you will. What happened next i don’t remember because as soon as i sprayed the Waikiki Coconut Beach on my wrist i was emotionally and psychically transported to a beach vacation from my childhood. The hot sand, the sun, the salty ocean water and the coconutty sunblock hit me all at once. But soon as I came to I realized im standing in the middle of a forsaken place and i must regain control before the chemicals get to my head again. And so, head held up high, i marched out never to return again. Except that on the way home as i was driving i couldn’t stop smelling my arm where i sprayed. It was magical, it was divine. As soon as I got home i dug up Summertime Surf (my last BBW indulgence) and sprayed the other arm. Close but not the same. And i was running low so i guess maybe ...i don’t hate ALL of BBW as much as I convinced myself i do.... Maybe i need another one, just one more. The rest is history. I returned to that store the next day and got myself a Waikiki Beach treat (ok for transparency purposes i confess i also got Meet Me In Miami lol what can i say? BBW does hot summer sand note really well, ill give them that, the way they use driftwood is undeniable) So i guess maybe i could be a BBW fan after all, when the right opportunity comes, and i have to own my truth. I also had to have a ‘come to Jesus’ moment, i can’t fault them for shit quality, it’s a $17 body spray I can’t expect it to perform the way a Mugler perfume would. For 17$ its a nice little mood lifter, a 30minute cheap thrill that you can reapply as much as your heart desires and for what it is, it’s great. Life isn’t always diamonds and rose, sometimes it’s a cheap fun body spray and a White Claw (ew except not a white claw cause id never, but you get the analogy) (Tune into Voir Dire Podcast if you’re into reality tv and pop culture)

first of all, the 2025 packaging is so gorgeous. it’s all green and retro and so tiki room. (my parents lived in hawaii, and i was born there. i surf and my father plays surf guitar, so im very familiar with the aesthetic). i love it sm and i hope they keep the retro aspect in future packaging. the scent is absolutely delicious. she’s a greener, fresher, noticeably fruitier coconut. not a toasty, warm, roasted coconut, but like a green coconut that you found on the sand. the woods are warm and inviting and give it a HINT of sunscreen smell, but i don’t think it’s overpowering. i have quite a few of these beachy coconut sunscreen type scents, and this one is different in comparison to some of bbw’s other coconut scents. frosted coconut snowball is a lot heavier on the vanilla. copper coconut sands is much warmer and more sandalwood heavy— it reminds me of toasted coconut flakes rather than an actual coconut. at the beach is a more floral coconut water scent. this one is just nice, fresh, clean green coconut. the vibes: the hike to the big island’s ‘akaka falls. a long, winding slope down through lush, tropical rainforest. the fresh mist on your skin, the smell of the sea in the air, and greenery all around you.

This is one of my favorite summer scents, and the first that I reach for in late spring when the craving for a tropical fragrance hits. (Honorable mention goes to Bahamas Passionfruit and Banana Flower, which is my other fave from the recurring "tropicals" releases.) I get a fresh, slightly sweet coconut with salty breezes and a gentle, sunshine-y warmth. I swear I also get some pineapple out of this, but just a hint. This is a body mist, so longevity on skin is so-so, but it lingers nicely in hair and on clothes. I like pairing WBC with the matching body cream, but it also goes with with the eos lotion in Coconut Waters (almost exactly the same, just a bit sweeter) and Tree Hut's Coco Colada body cream (slightly lighter and more pineapple-forward) if you prefer those formulas or packaging. Compared to some other B&BW releases: it's sweeter, fruitier, and more coconut-forward than At the Beach (fresh, beach-y floral), and lighter and fresher than both Coco Paradise (80's suntan oil) and Whipped Coconut Milkshake (woody gourmand).

Okay, let me just say it- Waikiki Beach Coconut is one of my absolute favorites. Like, no joke, I’ve stocked up with three extra bottles because I REFUSE to run out. It’s just that good. Now, if you’re a coconut scent lover like me, this one is an instant YES. It’s so refreshing, creamy, and beachy... but not in a sunscreen-y way. It smells like a tropical vacation, like stepping onto warm sand with the ocean breeze in your hair and a coconut drink in your hand. It’s chill, it’s comforting, and it’s lowkey addictive. I legit wear this one all the time. Whether I’m going out, staying in, fresh out of the shower, or just want to feel a little more alive on a bleh day- this scent never misses. It’s got that perfect balance of toasted coconut, sea breeze, and a little sweetness that makes it light but still noticeable. People WILL ask you what you’re wearing. It just gives off good vibes. Like a whole mood in fragrance form. If summer had a signature scent, it would be THIS.

Waikiki Beach Coconut is a refreshing aquatic coconut. Salty and only a hint of lime. It is not gourmand. It is not not floral like “Hibiscus Paradise.” It is refreshing and light. It is nothing like Frosted Coconut Snowball, which is like a coconut ice cream. It is also not like BBW “Coconut Pineapple” either. Coconut pineapple smells like coconut, pineapple, and brown sugar exactly. My special concoction is I put a endless Sea lotion AND Waikiki beach coconut, a spray of Endless Sea and a spray of Waikiki or I wear Coconut Pineapple with Waikiki. Don’t take any of these coconut scents seriously though. I enjoy them casually with sundresses, shorts, baggy overalls, sandals. They aren’t for serious dressing up and they definitely are not for professional meetings or impressing others. Though my husband loves it when I wear them and my friends give me compliments.

This is a blind buy for me. I have the 2023 version. I wanted to have a coconut mist from BBW, and I've decided to pick this one. This is a hit for me and I love, love, love the fragrance mist. The opening of this one is fresh, it's almost like a citrus or oceanic fresh, but there's no citrus listed on the notes, so maybe it's coming from the cascalone. And the drydown is very coconuty, like a creamy coconut, but the hint of freshness is still there. The only downside is, I think, the lasting power; after spraying it, after an hour or less, it's gone, but you can still smell it because it kind of turns into a skin scent. But I'm not complaining, for a body mist, it's still great. Great for summer or beach or if you just want to have a beach-ey summer-ey vibe type of smell.

Beautiful fresh perfumey coconut fragrance. It can easily be anyones summer staple. For every category of fragrance I have, there’s usually one that’s the most simplistic & easiest reach. For my coconut scents that is Waikiki beach coconut. It’s not too complex, but also it gives enough where you can effortlessly smell amazing and not smell like you’re trying too hard. I do get a slight citrusy note that others smell too, it’s a little lime-y. But not anything someone who hates citrus should be scared of as it’s very faint. I love love Waikiki beach coconut and it’s one of my favorite scents. It oddly reminds me of scents that have no coconut note whatsoever such as honey wildflower & PINKs honey mist.

It’s reminiscent of the Yankee Candle scent ‘Under the Palms’ which resonated with me as a summer scent— it’s Coconutty, fresh, and aquatic. Waikiki Beach Coconut fits this profile exactly yet it’s sold as not just a candle lol. I honestly love this scent though because I’m currently going through some seasonal blues. I want it to be summer so effing back and this perfume takes the edge off. WBC the type of perfume that gives you memories of happy summers, breezes on a hot day, and even airing out your resort in hawaii on a windy day. Another thing I do love about this perfume is the chemistry it has with the summer heat...

I love this scent thru and thru; I love a coconut scent WITHOUT that sunscreen smell. Like why would I want to pay to smell like sunscreen NO THANK YOU. anyways rant over, it's amazing tropical sandy coconut and not to mention it's so strong and lasts forevaaaaa, pairing this with pacifica island vanilla will get you hunted down. I also might be bias because I took this scent to Belize with me and now every time I smell it, it takes me back but anyway go buy this it's a classic. Be careful though it can be slightly headache inducing, and i never get headaches but just an FYI.

I used this a lot in the summer of 2023 and then the sprayer on my bottle broke so I sadly couldn't use it anymore. Then for some reason I didn't find it anymore on the online store (I don't have a physical store anywhere near me). Finally this month I saw they had it again so this time I bought the lotion as well and I love this scent the same still. I'm a huge coconut fan, so it makes sense. It's sweet, but not overly sweet, also not sunscreeny, just a nice beachy coconut. Longevity is also pretty good for a body mist.

It's crazy good. I was kinda weary while blind ordering it online, as I am usually not a fan of super tropical scents, they tend to be too fruity for me. But this one is very aquatic floral coconut. It's not too sweet, it doesn't pack a 'punch in the face'. It's extremely juicy too, almost to the point where for a split second your brain thinks 'actually it would make good flavoured carbonated water'. My forever staple for the summer.

Straightforward coconut, nothing much more after it dries down but it smells very good, high quality and long lasting. Reminds me of the coconut in DUA'S Carribean Waters (Creed VIW dupe). Im writing this review from memory after testing in the store and smelling the very pleasant drydown hours later. Im ready to buy a bottle. I didn't like the opening in the store. I'll comment further after buying a bottle.

love love love, one of the few coconut frags i like. Its not dry or sunscreeny, its like this juicy coconut water with a splash of shampoo freshness upon initial spray 🙂↕️ ik those shampoo notes scare people off but this one is not too much, although it is a very refreshing fragrance the coconut can get creamy as it dries down. One of b&bws most long lasting scent imo especially on clothes and hair

My go to BBW scent! She's versatile to me, so delicious! A sweet, vanilla, fruity-coconut, with a touch of creaminess but not overpowering, and I find the smell to linger on my shirt for a good 2 hours! Such a pretty coconut scent, slightly reminds me of coconut pastries or desserts. Nothing like sunscreen, and the fresh aquatic fruits leave your skin with this sweet citrus touch.

Of all the fragances from B&BW, this is the one I really really like to wear on my body (I have other favorites for candles and stuff). It’s the perfect beach/pool day fragance, it smells like a mix of sunscreen, salt water, tanned skin and salty curly hair. I love how it comes in a sunscreen now too. I have repurchased this multiple times.

This is for the new release in our opinion the best coconut sent that bbw has come out with to date. We both (me and my husband) love coconut and to us this one smells great and not fake. In our opinion any one could wear this. We have both received compliments on how good we smell when wearing Waikiki beach coconut. Last all day on us.

In combination with the matching lotion (I assume the lotion was doing some heavy lifting) I could smell this on me for 5+ hours, and my coworkers could smell it on me front several feet away even hours after application. I picked this up at the semi annual sale since I have been obsessed with coconut this summer, and I am glad I did

Very tropical and beachy and pretty. There's no pineapple note in it but that's what it reminded me of when I first smelt it. I remember spraying this in class and a whole group of girls flocked over to me to ask what the scent was. Gorgeous summer scent but unfortunately doesn't last very long.

I love this body spray- starts off very fresh and aquatic, then leads into a creamier coconut scent. There MUST be some pineapple though its not listed??? Feels like driving to the beach on a sunny morning. I just wish it lasted longer than an hour or two.

This smells EXACTLY like a pina colada to a T. I even pick up pineapple, yet somehow there are no pineapple notes. It’s soft, green, non-intrusive and reliable. It’s not too sweet and it’s perfect for any age. I would recommend trying it for sure.

I have this scent in from their new sunscreen products and it's an absolutely perfect sunscreen scent. Not something I'd typically pick up for an everyday scent. It's a very beautiful, beachy, summer scent.

I get a fabulous tropical scent comprised of mainly coconut, solar notes, sand, ocean breeze with a subtle hint of pineapple balanced by faint woody tones. 🥥🌴🐠🌞 Really good summery scent.

If you like tropical coconut and B&BW splashes, this is a summer must grab. It smells amazing. I really wish it had some lasting power. I like to layer it with Saltwater Breeze.

Sorry? What? Are we sure that this is a body mist? It lasted on my skin more than 7 hours. Smells like dried coconut, not laconic or sweet. I hope it never gets discounted

My cup of tea ! Definitely the best among other coconut based fragrances in bbw. Well-harmonized sea salt makes it not to be overpowering coconut. Creamy as heavenly.

I’ve found that if you layer this one, it typically can last, and I’ve had people from across the room say they can smell it. Love this one for the hot summer days.

This fragrance captures that perfect beach vibe - it's like bottled golden sands, sunshine and sea breeze. The scent itself is absolutely cheerful; bright, green and transports me straight to a day by the water. But here's my issue: there's this lingering salty note that clings to my skin hours later, and it starts to feel overwhelming. Instead of feeling fresh and beachy, I end up feeling like I've been marinating in salt water all day. It's such a shame because I genuinely love how it smells when I first apply it. On days when I know I'll be showering soon anyway, I'll still reach for it just to get that hit of tropical summer vibe. I've been tempted to try their cream formulations thinking maybe the lotion or body butter versions might tone down that persistent saltiness and sharpness, but honestly, I'm worried it would be the same story. The salt accord is clearly intentional and probably what makes it so realistic, but for everyday wear, it's just too much for me. If they could dial back that briny finish just a notch, this would be an absolute summer winner.

WBC is actually a great scent, reason why it’s so pushed out every summer. I have it in last years packaging, and now that summer is here, I gotta use up what I have left. I do appreciate it for its soft coconut smell, saltwater breeze and woody notes. So to me this isn’t STRAIGHT up coconut, tanning lotion, or sand, like you get with other coconut scents BBW has released, you do get the other scent notes in here which is so refreshing and easily makes this one of my FAVORITES in my collection. Coco paradise is too coconutty, copper coconut sands is way too ‘sandy’ and sunscreen, at the beach is not enough coconut, but WBC is a perfect coconut fragrance, everything I need in a coconut fragrance! I love it enough to make it my signature scent.

Waikiki Beach Coconut is my favorite summer mist! My husband picked it out for me at the beginning of the summer as a gift, and I’ve already used the entire bottle. It’s a warm, beachy, creamy coconut scent. Not exactly a “sunscreen” scent, but it does layer nicely over the sunscreen I wear. Not all frags smell good over sunscreen; this one blends really well. It reminds me of pina coladas, but I don’t really detect pineapple notes, it’s just like the sunshine and sweetness like maybe coconut rum. It doesn’t last too long, maybe a couple of hours, maybe more on a cooler day. Projection is about arm’s length.

Very nice. Almost youthful, but not too young for me. I purchased the diamond mist version second hand, practically brand new. It doesn't have a smell that radiates that strongly- but I think this is due to the diamond dust version possibly having a reduced reach from the larger particles and solution. Smells like a piña colada but not as heavy on the coconut as I expected. It is breezy and fruity. Easy to like and wear. Not my favorite but this one is great for summer and lovely to smell. The diamond dust is a fun touch.

I bought this perfume without smelling it. First of all, I didn't like the opening of this perfume. Because the opening has nothing to do with coconut. It's not written in the notes, but I swear I smell pineapple. I saw it in the comments, someone wrote that there was a smell like a car smell at the opening and unfortunately it is true. But the perfume is a bit strong, you get a great coconut smell. It is very ideal for layering, but I don't know if I would use it on its own. My favorite is still at the beach.

This smell is a good coconut smell. I am learning I am not the biggest fan of coconut smells so to me this is just above average but not special. I also smell pineapple in the beginning too although that note is not listed. Then this dries down into something a bit less sweet. I do not see summertime surf on here so I will review it here as well. I prefer summertime surf over this. I think maybe it is the vanilla in summertime surf that helps and also it really smells like a good beach smell to me.

I honestly really like this one, the “newer” one I’m not 100% if to call it that because it’s had 3 reproductions that I know of. One from 2000s, the 2nd from 2015, and one from last year. The 2021 reproduction is nice, a long lasting mild scent. I use it pretty frequently and I love to layer it with more fresh scents. It’s definitely sweet and coconut-y like the description states. It’s also a pretty good price, knowing that BBWs have been hiking up the prices on they’re products recently.

A simple and safe coconut scent. It reminds me of a car air freshener a little, but I still love it. I usually use it as a room spray, or layered with a more well-rounded fragrance on very hot summer days. Longevity is pretty good. It lingers in the air for about 6 hrs, and on clothing/skin for roughly 4. Not bad for the sale price I paid, but I wouldn't pay the full price. The newer packaging (not shown in the Fragrantica thumbnail) is much prettier.

Fresh without being sinus stabby, unidentifiable fruity note that I wouldn’t identify as coconut, hint of dry wood which might be a bit like coconut husk. More feminine than unisex due to the sweet fruit note. My husband said “smells like new clothes.” And there is a slightly new stuff/new car smell to this. Lasts well when sprayed on clothing, doesn’t project a ton. It is unique for BBW. Coconut fans, not sure if this will scratch your itch.

The coconut smell isn't too strong or too mild, and the sand notes are actually pretty present! It's a great beach scent, or one to wear on vacations or just during the summer. It lasts great on clothes, and pairs really well with the Princess Ariel spray form B&BW.

Very light and fresh; office appropriate and good for the summer. The coconut is not overpowering like the auto air fresheners. This is a casual fragrance for relaxing activities when you want “a little something” in the background.

creamy tropical fruit scent, i dont smell much of the aquatic and sand notes, but the coconut is great for summer and isnt too sweet! definitely a little synthetic? almost smells like a bar of soap but its not bad at all. 3/5
