Warm Vanilla Sugar

I got my hands on an early 2000s bottle of Warm Vanilla Sugar and it's been the best $15 I've spent in a while. The first hour was ATOMIC levels of alcohol-vanilla that gave me a mild headache and nausea, but we're now 14 hours out and I feel like it was kinda worth it? I can still smell her on my shirt if I lower my head for a sniff. I was bracing for absolute revulsion, honestly. We have history. I picked her up for the nostalgia and to see if she is as I remember. Oh, she definitely is: a done-to-death, holiday-esque blend of vanilla, sugar and sweet florals fit for high school halls and locker rooms from September to winter break. But she's... comforting. Weirdly well-blended for an old, cheapo body spray. Mostly getting jasmine and vanilla together with brown sugar and the barest hint of coconut. Cakery smell. She's sweet all of the way down. The sandalwood echoes the flowers for a warm, powdery spice-wood foundation. A faintly nutty, creamy caramel accord and the odd smell of freshly-cooked rice softens and rounds everything off. (Dunno. I smell it. It's fine. It works.) Recommend one spray in a well-ventilated space, then give her time to settle. The atomizer delivers a healthy blast of product so beware. I sprayed once at my décolletage, bathroom fan at full speed, and still gassed myself. That one spray was all I personally needed for a solid 12-hour bubble of sweet, vanillic-floral yumminess. And the scent bubble must be tight as my partner says it's pretty inoffensive. I think she'd be a perfect feminine flormand for intimidating, high-energy extroverts. She makes me want to manic-bake and clean the house, anticipating holiday guests. So yeah, find yourself a bottle from around 2000-2005, B&BW's Pleasures Collection. She's linear and unoriginal but the contents match the label. That insane performance was a nice surprise. For the price? Definitely worth it. They really don't make them like this anymore.

This fragrance was my favourite from BBW, Vanilla sweet powdery mist,This fragrance you can wear it any time during the day or at night in winter. It lasts 4-5 hours on the leather and 4-5 hours on the clothes. I bought it 2 times before boycott and I was searching on alternative fragrance, I found it in a brand (body philosophy - British brand) have this choice dupe of it. Very feminine, Classy and beautiful Scent, The fragrance of Vanilla in this mist is very rich mixing with sugar, tonka been, coconut, a very little amount of orchid and suitable amount of sandlewood with cacao in base notes so, you feeling when smell it with extreme warmth seems all the love of the humans exist inside you. هذا الرذاذ كان المفضل لدي من BBW، رذاذ فانيليا حلو بودري، هذا الرذاذ يمكنك وضعه في أي وقت خلال النهار أو في الليل في الشتاء. يدوم لمدة 4-5 ساعات على الجلد و4-5 ساعات على الملابس. اشتريته مرتين قبل المقاطعة وكنت أبحث عن رذاذ بديل، وجدته في إحدى العلامات التجارية (body philosophy - ماركة بريطانية) لديها هذا البديل. رائحة أنثوية وأنيقة وجميلة للغاية، رائحة الفانيليا في هذا الرذاذ غنية جدًا بمزجها مع السكر والتونكا وجوز الهند وكمية قليلة جدًا من الأوركيد وكمية مناسبة من خشب الصندل بالإضافة إلى الكاكاو في قاعدة العطر، لذلك تشعر عندما تشمه بالدفء الشديد يبدو كأن حب البشر كله موجود بداخلك.

Much of my teenage years was spent roaming around malls, sniffing fragrances. At the time, I wasn't making any money of my own, so Bath and Body Works was perfect! After discovering designer and niche, though, I thought my obsession with the brand had died down. That is, until yesterday when a strange urge pulled me to the store nearly a decade later. I spent an hour going through the collection - both new and old scents - but once I took a whiff of this delicious potion, I realised just how much I'd missed it. It's sweet (but never overkill), warm, and smells like nostalgia - a favorite after all these years. I immediately purchased the body wash and lotion on sale (yippee!) and now I'm gutted that I didn't get the mist too. Maybe next time... Edit: purchased the mist on sale. Not as nearly good as the lotion, but still yards better than the strangely sour shower gel. It’s so much weaker than they use to make it, but the three layer well together. Now if I could only find the perfume concentration...

This is one of the best vanillas ever made, when you wear it in the correct weather. It’s the most intoxicating vanilla ever made! IMO. This lady is warm, soft, sensual, sugary, sparkling, ✨ sweet delicious, enveloping, projecting, she is tantalizing the senses! Omg I’m doing the eye roll of goodness... it’s been so long! It’s late spring but it’s cold n rainy- 56 F and this beauty is dancing her best dance right now! I’ve been trying all winter to get this scent memory back but it was falling flat- until today. This is the beauty I remember from long ago! Remember- when a fragrance doesn’t smell good, hold off and try in different weathers, different months and even different years. You never know when you’re going to discover her at her best again or for the first time. Stop throwing your fragrances away! I haven’t worn this in years cuz it just wasn’t smelling like I remembered it to be, and I was checking- out of nowhere I checked today and there she is! ❤️❤️❤️.

Ok so this most certainly isn't the warm vanilla sugar I had at 16. Lol. I just happened to stop in a BBW today and I know that they bring scents back and all of that stuff so when I do this I was excited and it was on sale. I couldn't help myself I sprayed it on myself right then. It didn't hit me right away but this is different from the one I loved as a teenager. Of course things are different 20 years later but if anything I thought that the lasting power would be better. Sadly I left with a new warm vanilla sugar lotion, after I realized that during the 15 minutes I took to browse other things and there wasn't a hint of the fragrance left. My hubby couldn't even smell it in my hair. That's ok the lotion is luscious and it gives me my memory fix that I have with this scent. Just kinda sad to see that it's not as good of a performer as before.

I’m not sure why Fragrantica lists this as a 2021 launch. Was it reformulated or just a new packaging as BBW often does. Skimming the latest reviews it seems to be a reformulation. My last purchased bottle is older than 5 years and is just as lovely as the first one I bought 15 years ago. WVS smells like brown-sugar cookies and whipped vanilla cream. Sometimes it reminds me of vanilla crème brûlée with a hint of coconut and the slightly torched brown sugar sprinkled on top. It’s fluffy, creamy and cozy, warm and sweet without being overly so. Great for layering with most vanillas, from the older Hypnotic Poison and Kenzo Amour, to the more recent Vanilla 28, Eilish and Burberry Goddess. If maceration doesn’t work for your more recent formula, try looking up the older one on eBay or Mercari. I think it’s just lovely.

This isn’t a review on the product itself, in my opinion this is a sweet and pretty vanilla scent, just a question. Why is this voted as good to great value? I think we need to stop referring to bath and body works as “great value” or “cheap” because they’re far from it. I personally love bath and body works products but at the end of the day, $37 AUD for a singular body splash isn’t inexpensive or affordable, almost $40 for a body mist is asking a lot for what it is. Especially considering majority have voted this as “very weak/intimate”, and the average cost for a body mist that isn’t bbw is $10. This isn’t “great value”, there’s no denying it’s a pretty scent but please, let’s be realistic when voting for price value, this is expensive. Random unnecessary rant, over.

This is one of these fragrances that you need to spray MULTIPLE times all over your body (I'm talking a good 15+) in order to actually smell it properly. However, once you do, you'll be enveloped in a very lovely, warm vanilla scent that feels cozy and comforting. Is it a little generic? Sure, but not every scent needs to be super complex and multilayered and mysterious. It's a "safe" scent that you can gift others without fearing that they'll hate it. You can also use it for layering with all sorts of other vanilla-based or gourmand fragrances. I personally like it a lot, but I probably wouldn't wear it by itself since its longevity isn't the best. Overall, I can see why it's a staple year-round scent at Bath and Body Works and I do hope it stays that way forever.

Idc what anyone says, I am completely in love with this mist. Sometimes I just want to smell like light clean vanilla and this is it. I also have the lotion and the lotion is a lot more long-lasting scent-wise, it literally stays on for 10+ hours. I wish the mist also had more lasting power, the longevity is unfortunately worse than that of a typical bbw mist. And for everyone saying this is generic, I’ve smelled more than 400 perfumes and I’ve never come across anything that smells remotely similar to this body mist. If I have, I would’ve bought it immediately, bc like I said the lasting power is sh*t. Like 2 hours max. Also, sillage is nonexistent. But this will always be in my collection despite all that, because it smells absolutely amazing.

I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS ONE... Literally the definition of warm and cozy. I've been using it since it's launched and it's my favorite body spray! The older version was richer and creamier imo, the new version is fainter but It's still warm and comforting. It's not like the other typical synthetic vanilla scents, there's something that makes it unique. To me, it smells like brown sugar cookie dough and milk with a hint of vanilla. I guess coconut adds a milky tone, makes it very creamy and lactonic. It's also not sticky sweet, sugar is well blended with the other notes. Personally, I love gourmand and lactonic fragrances so It's a win win for me. Just spray it after shower, it lasts longer that way (like 6-7 hours) 10/10 <3

This one’s a classic, and honestly, the 2025 version feels the closest to the original—strong and full-bodied right from the start, without that sharp alcohol hit 2021 versions have. It opens with a really inviting blend of soft florals and warm vanilla—sweet but not sugary. As it settles, the floral notes quietly fade into the background, letting the vanilla take over in a smooth, comforting way. The creamy sandalwood comes in subtly at the base, giving the scent a mellow, slightly woody finish that keeps it from being too sweet. It’s well-balanced, a little cozy, a little polished—nothing loud, just naturally elegant

My first impression is that this is a more classic vanilla-woods scent profile. The woods here lean to tonka-sandalwood as the notes pyramid suggest, with passing reminders for me of Hanae Mori Hanae Mori & to a lesser extent Vanilla Fields Coty. I do pick up the coconut softly in the background. Anyone sensitive to more modern vanilla scents with amberwood etc. would probably enjoy this one. Love it. Enjoy! Update 12/05/25: Tried this on today, and it struck me as the perfect vanilla to pair with banana, ylang-ylang, tuberose, coconut & sandalwood. I'll post some about this in the layering threads.

Warm, sugary vanilla! A linear body spray that has an immediate alcohol blast in the opening, and dries down to a mellow, gourmand, ambery vanilla. It smells delicious to me! I tend to associate stories with my fragrances, but this one is just so basic that it doesn’t really take me anywhere! It’s just vanilla haha~ This body spray is strictly for layering in my opinion. Since it is so linear in scent profile, I tend to notice that this performs better layered with other fragrances. The body spray and lotion combo makes for a reaally yummy and delicious base for my stronger fragrances. 8/10

When I first got this scent I was quite disappointed. It mostly smelled like alcohol with a very faint vanilla. However, I don't know if something happened with my nose or with the mist or both because now that the scent has been sitting for over a year I can smell it and I love it! It's a beautiful vanilla extract kind of scent. It's a great scent to mix with other scents as well. I loved using it with Juicy Couture's Gold Couture perfume. I've now used up my Warm Vanilla Sugar and I feel like I'm going to miss it. It's a very cozy scent. Great for fall and winter or for rainy days.

You really can't go wrong with this one it's a true classic. I love layering it with pretty much any gourmand fragrance I own, and it complements every single one beautifully. My friend once compared it to crème brûlée, and honestly, that description makes total sense. It’s warm, sweet, and comforting. Unfortunately, it’s the least long-lasting mist in my Bath & Body Works collection, which is a bit disappointing. But if you apply a toasted sugar lotion beforehand, I promise you’ll smell absolutely heavenly and it definitely helps the mist last much longer on the skin.

I love Warm Vanilla Sugar. I used to wear this a lot in high school and after I graduated. It is such a warm, inviting vanilla. It is such a classic B&BW scent. I usually have one FFM in my collection at all times. It's a perfect cozy scent. I love vanilla fragrances, and I have several, but I always come back to this and reach for it. I'd say the longevity is fine for a mist, and you can get a decent sillage from it. I actually love this as a go to bed fragrance. It is nostalgic, warm, sweet, with just a touch of powder. A favorite of mine.

UGH i want to own this but i cant just bring myself to buy it. i really love this whenever i go on a bbw store and this is the first thing that i'd spray on myself when i have the chance to but i really cant get myself to buy it. maybe it's because its basic? its basic but i cant really smell it on other people. i love it tho. its cozy, huggable, and yummy scent. but i feel like it could get cloying since its heavy on vanilla. this would be realllyyy good if the weather is cold tho.

Classic. Probably one of my all-time favorite vanilla frags. I will always have her in my collection. She reminds me of my younger days of partying and strip clubs. And she has definitely held up over time, even though there has definitely been a reformulation somewhere along the way. The og WVS does beat the newer juice, but the new is still amazing. Recently discovered The Dua Brand has a dupe called Vanilla Warmth Sweetness that’s spot on, which is great for layering.

Absolutely delightful, and unexpected. I realised that it was a fragrance I was smelling everywhere... but didn't know the name of. It's the perfect blend of vanilla, coconut and cocoa. It's a little bit dry, but mostly sweet. The lasting power is abysmal, but the price is right (I got it for sale at two for $35 which got me - unplanned, but I bought 3 that day). There's some vanilla orchid, similar to Vanilla 26 and Monotheme Vanilla Blossom... It's just wonderful!

(I’ve never had the original) but I can say this is nice I actually really enjoy the other notes in here. It smells like fresh vanilla sugar, in a way I can’t describe bc it’s not soapy or floral, but just smells like you used a nice vanilla body wash, with the most addictive woody background. I think this is perfect for anyone looking for a simple vanilla scent without wanting to smell exactly like a bakery. Just smells pretty. Only complaint is the longevity. :(

an icon for a reason! sure, it’s not that complex of a fragrance, but it is a good staple for fall and winter. i’m not sure why there are floral notes on this fragrance since i only smell pure vanilla, though. i don’t get the alcohol complaint i’m seeing other people talk about, clearly y'all have not smelled a toast to you or touch of gold no tea no shade! i fear i do agree with the play doh comparisons some people are making but idgaf bc i love play dough

Smells like middle school in a beautiful way 🥲 who said that bath and body works could Imprint on my childhood?? 🥲 I'm not even the biggest lover of guramond perfumes, and maybe it's because it's last all of three minutes before vanishing to the 3rd dimension, but it's soft and hugs you in a warm, sweet hug 😭💥💥💥💥♥️ I had to bang my hands on my desk because it's just that heart warming 🥲 value and nastolgia are carrying this review entirely 🥲 10/10!!!

This was my favorite bbw in high school. Unfortunately it's a lot weaker now... I will say that my new bottle has macerated slightly , but I still have to use a ton to get any kind of scent bubble. It's great for layering. Goes with just about any vanilla based fragrance. I just ended up buying vanilla potion to get that same vibe in perfume form. This and vanilla musk give me that 2000s nostalgia!

This is a very affordable warm vanilla✨️ The vanilla is soft, sweet, cashmere-like with the touch of sandalwood. An amazing fit for autumn and winter🍂 Reminds me of VS Bare Vanilla with a littttttle bit of sugar, definitely one of my favorites from BBW✨️ The longevity is not that good but I always wear it with Warm Vanilla Sugar body lotion and it stays for the whole day (and night) on my skin!

Personally, this is one of my favourite mists. Its very classic and delicate, not overly sweet which makes it perfect for layering with bit more deeper scents. Unfortunately it’s not very long lasting but we do have to remember that its a body mist, not a perfume. If you like sweet scents that actually smell like vanilla and sugar but aren’t overwhelming- this is a great and safe choice!

classic and beautiful. every woman in your life has worn thus literally atleast once. it's warm sweet vanilla with a rice note and sandalwood undertone. it's so comforting, it's not a really a food scent. just a simple, plain vanilla that everyone loves. if you want more of a cake vanilla i reccomend body fantasies's vanilla which smells AMAZING ♡

I just got this along with the lotion and body wash and let me tell you, I’m in LOVE. I have a lot of vanilla based perfumes and spray and this is one of the best ones I have. It is the perfect vanilla/chocolate perfume topper and it’ll def be one of my most used. Safe blind buy I would say, and would definitely recommend.

One of my first fragrances I bought and I’m not ashamed to say I absolutely love it! I have no idea why it gets so much hate. It’s the perfect mix of vanilla and jasmine in my opinion. The only problem I have with it is that it disappears literally minutes after spraying. Then again maybe that’s why it gets so much hate 😭

I really like this body mist. It's perfect if you want to feel and smell warm and cozy. It has a sugary vanilla scent and is very comforting. I love this during fall or winter. My only issue with this body mist is that it doesn't last very long :( Otherwise so good and worth buying!

I really really love this one! It's just a simple sweet vanilla cashmere scent that's cozy and warm. It's creamy and non-cloying at all. The only downside is how quickly it fades :,) At most, I get about an hour until I have to spray 7-8 times again for it to really be noticeable.

I thought this fragrance would be redundant because I already own Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere, but it actually reminds me even more strongly of Coty's Vanilla Fields. A nice surprise as that perfume was my very first fragrance ever. Brought back some good memories :)

I had got this for myself. However my teen daughter wanted it. Sooooo.... I can’t imagine me wearing it. Only her it kinda made for her imo. She gets in the car after school and I smell her. Her shirt smelled like it all week. It lasts on clothes. Young and fresh.

Warm Vanilla Sugar is so intoxicating and It's so delectable. I'm not sure it's me, but it's such a good product and after that initial spray down, it stays for hours for me. I'm going to start building scents with it like Eilish. The lotion is really good aswell!

i hate to say this since bv was my signature scent but, warm vanilla sugar is better than bare vanilla... it has really good sillage n longevity is nice for a body spray. i can smell it on me 3-4 hours after spraying

It's a very beautiful creamy vanilla jasmine sugar scent, unfortunately really not strong nor long lasting... If you love this DNA but want it to last get Qissa delicious. I layer them together.

Maybe I like this vanilla because i dont actually like vanilla notes, but every perfume I like happens to have vanilla in it. This is more sugar-forward and less vanilla.

I honestly struggle to tell apart from Victoria's Secret Bare Vanilla. I know a lot of people say they're different. Some describe one as more mature and elegant while the other feels younger or sweeter. But on my skin, they're actually much more similar. Looking at the scent notes, Warm Vanilla Sugar definitely seems more complex on paper. I don't really pick up those extra layers. To me, it smells exactly like its name. It's sweet, cozy, comforting, and has that soft vanilla warmth. I can see why some people might call it youthful because of the sweetness, but at the same time I don't think it smells childish. There's something about that warm vanilla that still feels soft, elegant, and comforting. For me, this is the perfect fragrance for bedtime or a cold evening. 🤍 It's the kind of scent I want to wear while relaxing under a blanket with the air conditioner on.

It's a clean vanilla. To compare it to something, it smells very similar to Dove's vanilla and shea butter body wash. The most present notes in order of strength would probably be the jasmine, white orchid, sugar and vanilla. I don't really smell any of the other notes. The opening is very strong and alcoholic, this is expected for a reasonably cheap body spray. When it dries down the alcoholic smell is still there but only subtly, the floral notes are more noticeable than the sugar and vanilla notes but you can still smell the sweetness a little. I personally think the name for this scent is misleading. When I blind bought this body spray I expected a warm comfy vanilla fragrance, although it didn't live up to my expectations it's still a very nice clean vanilla scent.

I really love this scent! I got this fragrance around 2023 so it sat around for a couple of years and honestly? it gave the notes time to develop in the fragrance and gave it a creamy and woodsy scent profile. I do get more sweet than woods, so if you're looking for a fragrance that isn't offensive on the skin and you can wear all year round, I would really recommend this one. Its not dense and cakey like a lot of other BBW sweet scents so its nice to wear it in public and around a lot of people The white orchid in this gives this scent more or an early 2000s feel when that note was way more popular in fragrances. I wouldn't shy away from this fragrance if you're into vanilla and don't want a dense feeling sitting on your skin in the heat. Love this fragrance <3

This is one of the B&BW body mists I don't get the hate for! This is a really strong custard vanilla with a fresh vibe to it. I think a lot of those notes are thrown together, this does smell a tiny bit weird at times, a bit playdough-y?? and kinda is a mess, but that's what makes it better. I don't think I smelled this before reformulation, so my opinion is based on the newer bottles. I feel like it gives my nose the same fresh note that a bathroom has, specifically very clean public bathrooms, no matter the spray scent. It's just something about it that I cannot explain. I just like the scent anyway, it's super strong on the vanilla and it's a sunny, daytime perfume and super easy to layer <3

Just pulled the body cream out of my collection and put it on, and it has been years since I put this on! I have the 2020 packaging and it must be the fact that it aged bc this smells so good! WVS is known for being faint and not lasting after 2008-2010, not the same formula it use to be. But I can actually smell it, I smell the warm sweet vanilla, it's kind of deep too, like a mature intoxicating vanilla which I love! I heard the the repackage from 2023 is more closer to the old formula and I really want to purchase it to see if that's true, this is actually so cozy and sweet. I love <33
