Warm Vanilla Sugar

I have WVS from the late 90's or early 2000's. My bottle does not look like the current version. I'm guessing mine is vintage. I'm so glad. It appears there has been a reformulation and rice may have been removed. As I sit here today, smelling it, I think it's one of the notes that makes this fragrance so classic and endearing. This fragrance is a warm throw in front of a fire with the snow piled up outside. It's a true hug. One you want to give yourself over to and never leave. I TRUST this fragrance. Never said that before! But I trust it to deliver to my mind, body and soul what comfort food does. Yes! WVS is like comfort food for your nose!!! 4/4 Stars I love it. As long as it doesn't change it will remain in my collection. This fragrance is one mature and youthful women can share. I wear it whenever the mood strikes me, mostly fall and winter, but I reach for her at some point all year long. I wear it for myself, alone at home, to bed, for my husband to snuggle, I wear it out. As aromatherapy. I layer it with other fragrances. This fragrance in my collection is like a good pair of worn jeans. WVS is a multitasker.

My favourite BBW fragrance... I think the perfect way to describe this fragrance is "soft". The floral notes in this keep it from being a cupcakey vanilla smell like many other perfumes that smell cheap and synthetic.. I actually find this quite mature, but in a good way. It's not too sweet, and the coconut is really subtle, and something about this is really addicting to me. I've been wearing this for about 7 hours now and I still get whiffs of it when I walk around, and it lasts on my clothes for days, which I can't say is true for any of my other BBW scents. (I would say the lotion version of this definitely smells more sweet/cupcake like than the perfume, and the body spray smells pretty much like this but with a bit more musk) sidenote: I think this may be one of those that varies based on your skin chemistry, since others have found it to be too musky/weird

Hmmmmm....not too bad. Typical Bath and Body Works formulation...generic..???....kinda. However, I like it! I do get coconut...but not pina colada/suntan lotion coconut...more "toasted nutty-ish coconut, which is better IMO.Underneath I am getting a tad of "dirty" dry vanilla woody too....again, IMO.I got an older 1 oz edt on eBay so maybe it's vintage...lol. I see other reviewers saying the newer one is water/alcohol-ish. I did get that typical alcohol zap at first,but it goes away fast. It is an easy to wear, "simple" vanilla scent IMO. I have tried some other vanilla scents that are way higher priced and this one smells better than some of those. Nice scent to have around when you are justhaving a lazy day at home...ect...ect...lol. Not bad at all...happy. EDIT: I also enjoy the bodywash in this scent....!!

I AM HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH THIS. The snob in me says, "Reject all things Bath & Body Works...you're not in high school," but then I inhale again and realize that this is a beauty only B&BW has managed to capture. It's a "Sugar" fragrance, but it isn't really sweet. It's soft & sophisticated, powdery, and deep, without being thick or suffocating. I've always been drawn to it but fought the urge to buy a bottle because of the aforementioned snobbery I'm so guilty of. Recently I figured, "what the heck" and ended up with the EDT in a swap, and I'm so mad at myself now for all the years I wasted! I see this being a staple. (Only caveat, spraying this on clothes brings out that generic syrupy vanilla present in almost EVERY BBW fragrance I've ever smelled. But on skin, it's pure loveliness.)

I am a huge fan of vanilla and this is my all time favorite. I have tried Vanilla Lace by Victoria Secret, Vanilla by Body Fantasies and they are nice but this should be the standard for a soft, sexy adult vanilla. I have it in the body mist, lotion, cream, and shower gel and have been using it for years. It is unique and hard to describe. To my nose, it smells like a warm, cozy vanilla surrounded by toasted coconut and brown sugar. The coconut note makes it stand out from so many other vanilla fragrances on the market. It is marketed as a fall/winter scent but I use it all year around and get many compliments. It smells like a mix between a bakery scent and a delicious suntan lotion. There is a reason this has been a number one seller for years. It is a classic.

I'm sure I've left a review of this at least once but I'm finding myself wearing this, and I usually don't find myself reaching for this. I can only speak for the EDT version of this, but it's so true to what the old formula used to be. The lotion is too burnt plastic smelling for me to enjoy it. But back to the fragrance, it is warm, sweet, floral, and just cozy. The coconut and rice compliment vanilla so nicely, it's almost as if those might be the only notes until you realize you smell a nice floral whisper in the background. Warm Vanilla Sugar is not cloying in the least, yes it smells edible but not like buttercream frosting. It's like a nice rice vanilla pudding. If you can get your hands on a more recent EDT, I'd say go for it. It is so worth it.

I love this perfume- as soon as the weather starts to turn colder, I switch from my floral/fruity perfumes to this! It smells wonderful, and I've had many people compliment me on it. The only complaint I have is that it is not strong or long lasting enough to last through the day. I have the small body spray version on me nearly 24/7 though, so I reapply every couple of hours. Also, the new perfume smells different than the old version, and I like the old better, I must say. This perfume will remind you of baking on a chilly snow day. I always am reminded of Christmas Eve, when it's tradition to bake a plate of cookies to leave out for Santa Claus. Sure, it's quite unsophisticated, but I love how the sugary sweet vanilla never fails to make me smile.

An absolutely wonderful scent. I owned 5 bottles of the travel size body mists and have given away one so far to my Mum's friend since she loves it too. I plan on giving another bottle to my little sister since I don't really need so many (I bought a pack of 5 for cheap which is why I had 5 to begin with). The smell is very sweet and warm, so the name of the fragrance is well-suited to it. I adore vanilla smells (they are my favourite) and I can't resist the scent of this particular product. :) It's delicious and perfect for everyday, although go easy on it in the Summer as it might be too cloying for that time of the year.

Ok, I have no idea where some of you are getting the muskyness, except I suppose I can smell a bit of that in the drydown period.This was my signature scent during Junior High. (It was the only one I thought was appealing at the time, and it was pretty inexpensive.) It's warm and cozy, happy and makes me think of those sunny fall days where you want to cuddle up outside with a mug of hot coffee and watch the leaves fall. It's sweet, but not too sweet due to, I'm guessing, the hints of cocunut and sandalwood. It's a safe, every day scent that was only replaced as my staple winter scent due to Dark Kiss, by Bath and Body.

I own the "fragrance mist" version of Warm Vanilla Sugar. It requires a bit of overspraying to achieve a decent sillage and longevity. Other than that complaint, this is a lovely everyday scent. I initially get a true "vanilla with melted brown sugar" aroma, which is joined what I can only describe as a "warm rice pudding accord" and a touch of coconut. The sandalwood, musk and flowery notes appear in the drydown but do not overpower the gourmand nature of this delightful fragrance. Warm Vanilla Sugar is a wonderful, simple perfume, not anything fancy or pretentious, but it is sensual in a comforting way.

I so look forward to wearing this when the temperature turns cooler. A soft, warm, and comforting scent for fall and winter. On my skin, it's an uncomplicated vanilla with maybe a touch of sandalwood, which keeps it from becoming too sweet and too much of a cupcake scent. I don't get any coconut or any of the other notes. Longevity is great. Layered with the body lotion it lasts all day. Perfect for work or cuddling at night. Warm vanilla sugar is one of the best vanilla scents I've tried. In my opinion, it's right up there with the higher priced scents. If you love vanilla, I highly recommend this.

Ahhh Warm Vanilla Sugar, one of the few great scents from the house of Bath and Body Works. Lately i've been a bit frustrated and bewildered by this once amazing brand, but WVS has pulled me out of this somewhat dreary funk. This scent is by no means the sweetest vanilla 'gourmand' on the market. But I think that's what sets it apart (especially at the price range) This scent reminds me of macaroons, with a little extra spice added in the mix. This scent is worn proudly on the skin as such: a skin scent. The sillage doesn't trail loudly behind you, but leaving a beckoning whisper behind you.

I only bought it because it was on sale. I finally decided to give it a try. I got the bottle with holographic swirls. It smells like freshly-baked glazed sugar cookies on me. I appreciate the addition of sandalwood and musk on the dry down. I never tried the old formula hence I can't compare my bottle's properties to the cult-favorite OG. Still, it lasts long and gets me compliments every time. The sillage is weak but every time a wind blows against me, a whiff of WVS tags along! I'm not sure if I will purchase again because the reviews on the latest release claim it smells more alcohol.

Discovered this a few years ago at eighteen and immediately fell in love with it. It was like someone had bottled my personality into a body mist. Warm. Sweet. Comforting. I loved to layer it with B&BW's Snowflakes in Cashmere once the winter months rolled around and had more than a few people stop and ask me what I was wearing or tell me that I smelled good. It is a little juvenile though, but if you're a teenager and into sweeter scents, this is right up your alley. Only downside is that it doesn't last that long on your skin since it's a body mist :(.

This is my first BBW purchase. I bought it since second year college, and I have used up two full size body mists and two minis since then. I'm currently on my third full size mist. My boyfriend loves it still on me, and we consider it my signature scent for almost my entire college life because my friends and classmates automatically recognize this scent as mine. No one else that I knew in the univ has used it except for me. This scent got my bf hooked on me haha xD I collect perfumes and body mists so a repurchase from me means a lot.

Love it! I know it's for women but I love vanilla scents so I wear this layered with Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Signature Collection for men and the two mingling with one another smell amazing! This is exactly the type of vanilla scent I like. It's not too sweet or chemically smelling but rather warm, soothing, cozy and comfy. When I wear it and get a whiff of myself now and then, it almost makes me hungry, that's how good it is! I hope they never discontinue this fragrance. Super yummy. Try it, you might just like it!

A soft and sweet uncomplicated fragrance which has a passing likeness to Vanilla Fields to my nose (that yummy woody note in with the vanilla). I wear this for myself - I figure comfort perfume is better for me being less calorific than comfort food! Mainly I smell sweet vanilla, coconut and wood notes. I also smell whipped cream at the very first spray. Longevity is reasonable for an inexpensive fragrance. I layer it with the body cream for extra deliciousness. Hours later close to my skin smells like Coty Vanilla Musk.

For a long time, i don't know why but I thought this smelled like Pink Sugar...? *shrugs* I guess the sugary aspect was pretty similar. It's warm, like the name states. It smells a lot like a cinnamon bun, fresh out of the oven. It smells like..... warm cuddles with a spiced latte by the fire... It's sugary sweet, but i feel as though it has a bit of depth. It's not just straight up sugary vanilla. It has a character that kinda grows on you. It's powdery, but like a confectioner's sugar kind of powdery.. I love this.

Having this in my favorites group is a no brainer for me. Almost every perfume I have smells better when I add a dash of this on top. Today I tried it with some peppermint oil...it is so surprisingly refreshing and delightful. I will NEVER not have this fragrance. It is a staple for me...like toothpaste. If it runs out, you have get more. I don't wear it alone very often, but I could. It just doesn't have great longevity for me...which is not really a bad thing.

Back in my early high school days, a family friend's daughter gave me warm vanilla sugar along with the matching lotion in a small transparent bag as a Christmas present, immediately the smell reminded me of sugar cookies, mmm...delicious. Unfortunately, the new reformulated version is worse. The silage was wonderful on the original, the new one, not as much, and the smell is synthetic. The quality went down on warm vanilla sugar along with others.

I bought it yesterday, and I love it, I put some drops on my wrist and I fall in love, the smell is sweet, but not too much, is powdery and you can detect the lovely vanilla all around you and time to time the coconut appear, like saying "hello". Oh! the smell makes me feel so happy. It is strong and noticeable, so have to take care to not put so much of it. Not for everyday, or summer, but more suitable for spring, fall and most of it, for winter.

My mother wore this scent for years. It's very soft, cozy and clean and somehow manages to capture a sense of both youthfulness and maturity at the same time. I find this scent to be quite versatile, as well and can be worn in all seasons - soft enough for summer, yet still fitting for the chilliness of fall and winter. It can last a good 4 to 6 hours on the skin and projects relatively well. Definitely a must-have if you enjoy vanilla!

Make warm vanilla sugar, not war. Oh my gosh, this screams of love!!! I totally dig this scent, it reminds me of all things that really warms the heart. Like when it's raining outside and you're at home with a good cup of coffee with a good book. Or when it's Christmas and it's cold outside, and your whole family is at home having a hearty dinner and laughing to your heart's content. Or freshly baked cookies and a warm drink!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, Yummy! This is a sweet sugared vanilla scent reminiscent of a baking cake. While it is a sweet scent it is not a sickeningly cloying scent. This is one of my favorite vanilla scents for years now, and it is just as delectable now as the first time I wore it. On me it is a mixture of vanilla, rice, and coconut, with just a hint of sandalwood for a spicy finish. Sillage is great, and longevity is fair to good.

Warm, light, classic... I love Warm Vanilla Sugar, but wish the Eau De Parfum was still available. The fragrance mists are a close skin scent and rarely project. I had good luck with the Eau De Toilette a few years back (my boyfriend still reminisces on the scent this left in his car), but it was discontinued. eBay bottles don't cut it and are getting stale. We need to band together to bring the parfum back!

Nice and sweet, very very warm. I don't get any powder out of this. I would call it a staple but I don't think I've ever worn it on it's own, it has always been one of my go to's for layering, so far I've tried it with Reb'l Fleur, Dolce&Gabbana Pour Femme, Dior Addict, Oscar Fresh Vanilla, Pink Sugar,and several others. It never fails to add a warm softness and depth to any of my sweeter perfumes.

Does anyone remember the limited edition round shaped bottle of B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar it was a perfume mist in 100mls size with a little charm on the lid in a gold box? That smelt amAzing, so sad my bottle run out :'( EDIT...I sprayed B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar edt on top of Halle by Halle Berry, and it smells remarkably similar to the amazing limited edition edp spray of Warm Vanilla Sugar! :D

I disagree with all these negative reviews. This smells very warm and delightful! I got the lotion of it for my birthday, along with a bath sponge and a B&BW gift card. If you layer the lotion with the Japanese Cherry Blossom spray, you'll get a woody floral scent. Update: I now have a whole BOATLOAD of this stuff! Time to smell like a vanilla cake in front of everyone!!

It's a wonderful warm vanilla blanket, cosy and soft on your skin. It stays with you for hours, it's simply a delight, one of the best vanillas for me out there. The coconut is hardly detectable, so it doesn't have that exotic beach effect and it's perfect for cold days. The drydown is rich and sweet like a cuddle: sandalwood, musk and rice (my new favourite note)!

I would have never thought I'd like a vanilla perfume or scent. I usually hate them. Someone gave this to me for Christmas 2012. I can't hardly stop wearing it. I love to smell it on me. It's intoxicating. Again, I never would have guessed that I'd be writing this about a vanilla scent in perfume. I'm addicted and loving it!

This fragrance has been a favorite of mine for many years. Sadly I don’t know why they changed the formula. The original formula was a beautiful toasted brown sugar and vanilla cake scent .It had hints of coconut and was reminiscent of jasmine white rice. A little floral and powdery dry down too. 5 out of 5 to the old one.

My mum just bought me this in a body mist for Christmas. Yum. I love vanilla fragrances and this is really pretty yet casual. I live in Canada, and she actually went and drove down to the US to get this for me and Forever Red for my sister. Merry Christmas to the Fragrantica world!

Nostalgia, I am a 32-year-old male who bought this for a girl in high school. This is the first smell I have ever enjoyed on a woman, and this could be why I like vanilla smells till today. Reminds me of sugary vanilla baked cookies. I heard the formula changed. Sorry ladies .

I own both the body cream and the perfume and as others have said it smells somewhat like vanilla baked goods. This is my go-to vanilla for layering. I seldom wear this by itself, but it's fantastic for layering under other scents when I want to add or enhance a vanilla note.

Very sweet, warm and sugary, just as the name suggests. I do not get much coconut from this and I was a bit surprised to see it as a note. I smell lots of sweet vanilla, with a hint of sandalwood, but mostly, I think this smells like fresh baked cookies.

Probably my most casual smell, and it does not linger at all so I constantly have to reapply. It's almost like it disappears as soon as it's on me. But I love the way this smells, reminding me of baking cookies for Christmas. A very cozy and warm scent.

I loooooooove this, it's so cozy and warm. It's a very nice vanilla that isn't too heady. I use the body lotion and it lingers nicely, like all day! And you can pick up the notes of rice and coconut, I mostly use it in the winter.

This is my favorite go to vanilla fragrance! easy when i don't know which fragrance i want to wear. This perfume is perfect for every seasons. Day or night. Can also be layered with other perfumes. cozy and sweet.

I came across this scent by accident. Read review then just needed to try. I was not dissapointed. Lovely and sweet with a realy warm glow to it. Makes me feel cosy and comfy. would certainly buy again.

this smell is such a classic! if you have another vanilla smell that just needs a kick extra of warmth, pick this up for layering! i love the shower products for winter becuse it is so so warm

This is just awesome for the ladies. To me, this smells better on a woman than any other women's fragrance I've ever smelled. It's exactly as described - sweet, warm and vanilla. Perfect!

I love this and I have always worn the body spray. I recently purchased the EDT and I love it better, it stronger. Amazing fragrance. Just as it's called, it smells like vanilla.

I love this when I want something simple and sweet, but a little darker. This isn't a light vanilla scent, but more of a burnt brown sugar/coconut scent. Very lovely :)

I hate gourmand scents...this is the only vanilla scent I can wear...its warm and never syrupy icky sweet like most vanilla scents. This is grown woman vanilla
