Wicked Vanilla Woods

second smell of mine thats explicitly labeled as vanilla & i really like it so far! wearing it right now, dont have the lotion but i sprayed it all over like crazy after i showered and moisturized (unscented lotion). its polarizing cus it keeps shifting what im smelling i think..... but that may just be that if i try to get a gourmand i always am chasing after my utterly beloved and perfect juicy gold --> which this reminds me of! maybe its the amber? its juuuust almost there for me but still stands on its own two feet. or green hands i suppose. it almost smells soapy at times and other times theres this very sharp smell to it that i will trust is that pink pepper? ive never had anything with it before so i have no clue what it actually smells like, but i reckon thats what it is. by the way pink pepper is the cutest stitching together of two alliterated words possibly ever. anyway. my mom when i asked her what i smell like shared that i smell like "warm vanilla" and a jimmy choo scent???? i forget its name but the golden bottle which i think is crazy because im not getting that at all from this (nor does this smell designer!!!!!!!!) and they both smell wildly different to me. edit: the smell she compared this to is i want choo... le parfum. ummm. anyway. i do concede that its probably better suited as an all day smell for the chillier months, but given that today was hot as balls (beautiful low 90s and stuffy and humid too 😻) and i actually showered early in the evening because of it i do think its a wonderful nighttime smell year round ^_^ i think i prefer vanilla rum a tiny bit more HOWEVER the part of this smell on me that teeters on the egde of powdery soapiness keeps me wanting to smell it and see how it will shift and how long it will last. its not even just that but i cant quite identify or articulate what im getting here. its a very perplexing smell. i definitely am curious about how its gonna smell in the autumn here specifically (northern hemisphere and hanging head in shame) because i live up north in the us just far enough that it gets horribly cold in the winter so i hate it. much as i dread the cold months the autumn air has a taste and smell to it that if its not making me want to start bawling or die is super crisp and has this oddly intoxicating underlying smell to it that i cant figure out or put a name or word to & i think its the best time of year for gourmands. especially this one!!! actually i think thats what this (assumed) pink pepper reminds me of in its own special way. aw :') super curious to see how this smell on warmed skin in THAT air will pair with one another. this smell dude.... ps i think i get what a previous commenter said in calling this gothy! im not versed in goth smells (if it counts for anything i would like to make myself perfume with cloves if i could orz) but i think i can sort of see it. smell it. whatever. like. shes kinda crazy... love her! ⚰️🎃🌫️

Beautiful, Sweet, warm, woody, and cozy. I missed this when it was originally released in 2021 and had been hoping it would come back in more than just the hand soap (which I also have). Unfortunately it hasn’t returned yet, but I managed to finally snag myself a bottle of the mist in a trade! This is such a beautiful vanilla! It’s sweet, but not too sweet thanks to the amberwood which adds a really lovely warm and cozy woody scent. The pink pepper adds a subtle fresh yet smoky/spicy scent. Overall, I really love this one a lot! This is one of those unique fragrances from B&BW that’s more elevated so that it feels more like a perfume you’d find at Sephora instead of a mist from B&BW (don’t get me wrong, I love lots of B&BW scents, but some are just more special). It’s really beautiful, especially for the colder months of fall and winter. A very easy reach. I feel like it’s even got somewhat of a cozy and even comforting vibe. Out of the recent Halloween releases Wicked Vanilla Woods and Everlasting Magic are my favorites, followed closely by Midnight Potion. I so hope they bring it back this year! I get good performance with Wicked Vanilla Woods. The longevity is nice, it lasts throughout most of the day on me. The projection is decent too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. As a side note, this is what I had originally expected The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods to smell like. This scent is a mood. Wicked Vanilla Woods is a warm, resinous, sultry, spicy vanilla. It has a mysterious and otherworldly quality to it. It is not sweet and edible. This is what Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas would wear. Projection and scent trail are moderate. Longevity is excellent, if I wear this at night I can smell it on me the next morning. This proves that Bath and Body Works can do unique scents and this is one my favorites from the brand, 8/10. I can see how some could pick up a medicinal note in Wicked Vanilla Woods, but I get that more with body care than the body spray. I would describe this as witchy. A woman who is beautiful, seductive, mysterious, but maybe doesn’t have the best intentions would wear this. This layers very well with the following: BBW Twilight Woods: Boozy and evanescent. Moody but comforting. Perfect for a cozy October movie night, or an evening of handing out Halloween candy. Victora’s Secret Tease Cream Cloud: Ethereal, creamy, but haunting. This combo makes me think of the Huldra from Scandinavian folklore: a beautiful, mysterious woman dressed in white. She appears delicate and harmless, but there is something unsettling about her. BBW Whipped Coconut Milkshake: I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. The ice cream and coconut gives Wicked Vanilla Woods a creamy softness. This combo removes the dark and mysterious vibe but leaves you with one of the most beautiful and unique vanilla scent trail.

So far I'm really liking this scent! BUT I feel like for me this is only going to work in the Fall, and maybe Winter. They really nailed the Halloween collection of scents IMO because some of them I feel like truly fit that time of year. And maybe ONLY that time of year... Somehow it really does come across as a "spooky" vanilla, as silly as I feel typing that out... It almost reminds me of I Scream Float a little., as it smells sugary like a soda. ISF has that effervescent quality to it but WVW to me almost smells like a soda that's gone flat. ETA: When I saw this being compared to Vanilla 28 I was doubtful but intrigued so today I tried on my tiny sample of it that I've had sitting for months. I actually do kinda see it. Vanilla 28 smells less artificial and has patchouli, but something about the vanilla itself in both scents is very similar. I wouldn't consider this a dupe, though. I'm very glad to have smelled Vanilla 28 again because I think I might really like it now when before I thought it was too patchouli heavy. Maybe my sample oxidized/matured a little, and it toned down the patchouli??? Idk, and now I'm off topic, but I'm happy!!

My roommate kept stealing sprays of mine, so I didn't get to enjoy it all the way through and will probably just have to hope it comes back in stock next year. But whenever I wore the scent, it was sweet and went with literally any mood or outfit. It was a great every day fragrance for when I didn't wanna wear something too bold but still wanted a vanilla scent. The gothic aesthetic on the label made it even more fun as it looked cute on my shelf. (until I had to hide it *eyeroll*) I got a lot of compliments on it and was told strangely often that I smelled like a baby, or had "babysmell" which apparently is a good thing? I don't really get a youthful smell from it, I feel like it can be worn by both young and mature but if you're a younger person like me, you might remind someone whose had a child of "babysmell" ̄_(ツ)_/ ̄ My boyfriend liked the smell of it and it lasted pretty much all day and on my hoodie, lasted into the next day. And I got compliments on it from people sitting around me or in the drivers seat of a car so it definitely has decent sillage for the price.

Sweet, warm, woody, warm spicy, feminine, sensual, flirty, enchanting, inviting, cozy, comforting On me this is a warm and woody ambery vanilla that has a very soft spiciness that adds a bit of freshness from the pink pepper. This is a must have, especially for body care, in my collection. It’s definitely a fall staple! I think this is very pretty on its own, but it’s also perfect for layering with other vanillas. I really love the super cute Halloween packaging! I have the original, and the 2024 version, so I haven’t purchased anymore yet this year. I do find it similar to Vanilla Romance, which is another staple in my collection. This is such an easy scent to wear, and it pairs really well with other fragrances. I stopped using Bath & Body Works mists after getting into perfume collecting (they honestly give me room spray vibes now, sorry), but this is the ONLY scent I still use & the only scent I kept in my collection. Love, love, love this scent! I don't spray it on my body as often now; instead, I mostly spray this around my room/my sheets, and it immediately lifts my mood and makes my room smell so good (I get compliments from people all the time on how good my room smells). It's such a nice, cozy vanilla. It is pretty woody at first, and I'm not the biggest fan of super woody smells, but it turns into a very nice cozy vanilla. The only downside is that it's seasonal and, of course, not as long-lasting, so you will need to spray a good bit of this. It's worth it, though and I feel like you could use this all-year round even though It's highly considered a fall/winter scent.

✨UPDATE✨ I had mentioned in my previous review that I’ve been hoping they would bring this one back and they finally have! It’s available online in the mist as well as the other body care products! I just ordered more a few hours ago because they were buy 3 get 3 with $25 off of $100! So I snagged the mist, a few lotions, and a couple shower gels as well as some of their other newer fragrances like Candy Apple Cauldron, Vanilla Romance, and Gingham Glow! Too bad they didn’t bring back Everlasting Magic and Midnight Potion too. However, they did bring back Ghoul Friend and Vampire Blood as well as a new one, Candy Apple Cauldron! Wicked Vanilla Woods is definitely one of their best vanillas imo, so I highly recommend grabbing some while it’s available again! Read my review a couple down for a detailed description!💖

I just ordered this online (damn you BBW for not having this girlie IN STORE) and I'm already obsessed. To me, it's like (not an exact mix of these things, but it's the only thing I have in my collection to compare!) a mix of wild madagascar vanilla and nirvana bourbon (which is supposed to dupe spiritueuse double vanille by guerlain). It's not a boring sweet sugary gourmand vanilla, but not super carmex-y like vanille 44 by le labo. It's woody and soft and slightly sweet and pleasant and just so nice! I think I'm gonna wait out their next free shipping and double back for the lotion and a backup mist.

i love this body mist! it smells like vanilla. that's literally all i smell. it's amazing! i got it last year in September for my birthday and i don't use it that often but i love it. it's great for layering and it's so nice and sweet! definitely perfect for the fall! it actually lasts longer than other b&bw body mists so i'm surprised! love love love it! 🫶🏾 edit: this smells very similar to black opium. its very sexy and unique like it too. B&BW please bring this scent back!!

On initial spray it has a medicinal quality (similar to Carmex for lips) and is a little offputing. I was about to put it on my return list, but after dry down I was pleasantly surprised by it. It settles into a sweet, soft vanilla with a hint of something mysterious and herbal underneath (slightly cooling). I actually really love it after a few minutes to dry, and am definitely keeping it. It reminds me of Mugler A*Men. Great for fall and throughout winter.

Coniferous, Resinous Vanilla... My first impression was of a fairly strong amberwood + vanilla. However, as it dries down the amberwood recedes and the vanilla comes forward with a brown sugar effect. Like an evergreen tree dusted with brown sugar as snow and maple syrup resinous pine cones. It's not super strong, as other reviewers have mentioned, which make it easy to layer with other scents - the possibilities are endless here. Love it. Enjoy!

i am deeply obsessed with wicked vanilla woods. this is truly a "goth" gourmand. it's slightly masculine when you first spray it but it dries down to a lovely, pure vanilla. i 100% agree with the vanilla 28 comparisons, and i actually suspect wicked vanilla woods is hiding a patchouli note in there, but maybe my nose deceives me. either way, i want my whole life to smell like this. drown me in wicked vanilla woods.

This is absolutely lovely, one of my favorites from this brand. The woodsy vanilla notes can bring someone’s mind to a forest that in the November-December range so there’s no snow but there’s still the distinct chill, while the pink pepper adds a hint of freshness so that the scent isn’t painfully decadent. I just wish that they were able to sell this scent more often.

This reminds me of Kayali Vanilla Royale but with less/no patchouli. More of a peppery vanilla than a woody vanilla, despite the name. Sweet, a bit unisex, but not too heavy. There's something slightly fresh about it, which some people may be interpreting as menthol (not really what I get from it, but I can see it). Will be a great transition autumn scent.

I layer this with the body cream and this scent is just so incredibly intoxicating. Sweet, woody, a little bit of spiciness, it just smells absolutely divine and layers so well with so many different scents I own. I will definitely repurchase this for years to come as long as BBW makes this available every fall. 🧡

I own the body cream. This is a wonderful scent - vanilla, sweet but not overly sweet, and amber. This reminds me of a lotiony version of Kayali Vanilla 28 or my beloved dupe Elysia Vanilla. I like to use this body lotion and layer on Elysia Vanilla. It smells like a sensual vanilla, not juvenile.

This is the best vanilla BBW has ever done, I wear the lotion under my Vanilla Love or my Spiritueuse Double Vanille. It smells very close to both of those high end expensive perfumes. And I wear the body mist to bed. I’m going to buy more before they run out!

This is a beautiful vanilla, it’s dark and woody. Just a hint of barely there sweetness. One of the comments below describes it as ‘shifting’ and I get that. It is ambery vanilla one moment, then woody, dark vanilla with a masculine edge the next. It’s great.

I’ve got this in the body spray, and I like it a lot. Might be the feminine version of vanilla noir, which is my favorite so my liking it makes sense. I’d like to get a candle next time it’s out, if I’ve gone through the candles I have by then

do yourselves a favor and mix this with hypnotic poison by dior if y’all have it. i haven’t been able to stop sniffing myself since. it’s truly a mysterious yet delicious smelling vanilla that will have you under its spell for sure!

THIS IS AMAZING!!! A very strong and woody vanilla with amber. It’s very sexy, mysterious, and feminine. Despite some reviewers I don’t even a little get unisex/masculine smell. Use it with its body lotion and thank me later❤️🔥

not too overwhelmingly warm but definitely leans more on the warm side. creamy and slightly woody, it stays close to the skin and dries down beautifully. surprisingly sensual and mature.

Smelled it and I really love it. What I hate is I know that the scent is really familiar but I can't remember where I smelled it before. It is actually vanilla powdery in the dry down.

Awesome longevity for a body spray. Delicious vanilla with just a hint of spice. I think this could be wearable year round and great for layering.

if you're looking for a stronger perfume version of this, guess seductive noir is VERY close especially on the dry down

I purchased this scent during the Halloween event since I absolutely love vanilla. The amber wood definitely comes through and makes it a deeper, creamier vanilla than one would initially expect. I feel that even those who dislike gourmand scents might even like this a bit since it balances itself out so well and rids itself of that "pure vanilla extract" profile that a lot of vanilla scents have.

This is a sophisticated vanilla. It's definitely the most "Halloween-y" of this year's lineup. It's different from BBW's usual scents in that in is more mature (but not old), and it has a nice cool note in it to keep the vanilla from being cloying. It's really strong as well, the fragrance mist, the body lotion, and the body wash. I also think it's pretty unisex.

Their creams are horrible they go bad so fast and smell terrible. I used to love this scent once the cream turn bad it makes me dislike the scent when it turns sour. Happened with other scents as well and it has been said million of time wondering when this company Will fix their horrible formula.

smells like a light, powdery vanilla ! definitely not sugary sweet but its very soft and clean which i still enjoy ^_^ the cream also smells very nice and both r on clearance atm !!! ( halloween scents on clearance in mid october is still insane to me ... ) 🪾🤍

This one is interesting. First sprays are oddly mentholated? I'm guessing that's how I register pink pepper. It dries down into a vanilla, but a more complex vanilla, not like vanilla extract or baked goods. I really like to layer it with Nest Golden Nectar.

Not your usual from B&BW, This one smells like a proper perfume, Rather than a body mist. Beautiful Vanilla, Not too sweet, Has some smokey scent to it. Also leans pretty unisex. Lasting power is fairly good. It's great for layering too!

I really like this. It smells like berries, spices, and vanilla. My partner however told me I stink like cigarettes and I don't smoke 😂 so probably watch out fir that. Lol

Very amber-y, but also deep and full of the vanilla gourmand note. I also really like the inclusion of the pink pepper notes in here.

I was deciding between this and Vanilla Romance for a vanilla body spray for layering and ended up getting this. I honestly find it to be a pretty straightforward vanilla, like a vanilla ice cream - it’s not very spicy or woody or peppery. To me it’s just a yummy, creamy, rich vanilla. Unfortunately the projection is pretty poor - worse than most BBW mists are for me, and worse than Vanilla Romance for sure. I was expecting this to be, I dunno, woodier... but I’m happy with it as it is, especially for layering! Also I was indeed swayed by the allure of Halloween.

I bought it without thinking too hard because you can't go wrong with vanilla, but I don't love it, but I don't hate it. To me it smells like yellow pudding with the brown syrup. On the drydown it is bitter and a little smoky. It's warm and ambery, and just not very vanilla to me. Vanilla Romance is more “vanilla” with strong smoke, so I prefer that. Victoria Secret Bare Vanilla is the most vanilla and the best in my opinion. I’ve really not been impressed by BBW’s vanillas. Cozy Vanilla Bourbon and Warm Vanilla Sugar both were very weak and not very vanilla.

i think this is good if you are androgynous. its sweet but in a soda way. the pepper is the strongest note to me, i think the vanilla comes last. i dont know how to feel about it honestly. it smells like night time

Ehhh... I don't really smell much beside a light vanilla and some wood. It's not really special and vanilla romance is a much better vanilla fragrance.

I decluttered it. It was too unisex and tbh it was a bit boring as well.

This is very different from BBW's other vanillas. I had this packed away after a remodel and just pulled it back out after seeing it's being released again this year. It's an odd one for me the warm vanilla and spiciness are overshadowed by a very weird menthol note

When I first smell Wicked Vanilla Woods I liked then later on I didn’t like the pink pepper dry down at all. This does make a really good bathroom and room spray.

It's wicked, alright, in the worst way possible. I can't believe people actually like this. I'm sorry, but this smells like a minty eucalyptus mouthwash. There's no vanilla at all! It just smells how a strong mouthwash tastes. I wouldn't recommend anyone to wear this on any occasion. Maybe for guys, but even then, if a guy went up to me smelling like this, I wouldn't want to talk to them. Again, no offense to anyone who likes this but I guess it just doesn't work for my skin chemistry. But I've asked my family and they all say the same thing: mouthwash. Make sure to buy a decant before investing in this.

DISAPPOINTED!! I had to give this one to someone else cuz the smell was horrible... its straight up MEN perfume ( i think bc of the pepper in it) but i don’t think this should be sold as a women perfume!!

This one is soooo pretty, actually a real gem from BBW! It's a really good vanilla perfume. Slight wooded notes with vanilla and a dark sweetness. Definitely reminds me of Halloween! I hope to eventually find this one duped into a roll-on oil unless BBW comes out with a perfume version in the future. It's worth having IMO, and I'm typically very critical of BBW's scents! I can't say this one smells like any others that BBW offers. It does smell very similar to the Target brand Mix:Bar, Vanilla Bourbon, and also similar to Jimmy Choo's Vanilla Love perfume. This is impressive considering it's just BBW and smells so expensive! Longevity is pretty good too--I would say 6 hours at least! I would recommend that BBW turns this into something that is not a seasonal scent--because it really can be worn year-round as a comforting, mature vanilla. A very nice, budget friendly scent--I highly recommend!

@datadadadatagirl That's the trade off the modern consumer is faced with. In the process of making their products more "natural", with less chemicals and plastics, the BBW formulas now have fewer perservatives and stablizers. These formulas can also sometimes have a weaker scent. I much prefer it this way, especially since I'm not simply using a body cream for the scent, but as a treatment meant to be good for the skin. But I'm just one person. I do have stuff from 2 years ago that I can use, but it's the last gasp. It's something to keep in mind when purchasing. As for the scent, I'm a big fan. I agree that it has a hint of Spriteuse Double Vanilla in it. I associate it with Halloween as a result of the time of year they put it out. I can see a mysterious witch rocking this scent ;)

This was the Bath and Body Works body mist that changed my mind about Bath and Body Works body mists. No one is going to mistake it for niche (or even designer) perfume, but it’s a really interesting vanilla for the price point, it’s a great layering fragrance, and on its own it’s a clean, sweet, ambery vanilla. It’s synthetic, but that fact doesn’t punch you in the face. It’s super easy to wear and worth picking up if you like vanillas. A lot of the BBW fragrances trigger intense headaches for me, but I’ve never had a problem with this one. This is just as good as a candle, too.

I usually steer clear of body sprays because they often smell cheaply and of chemicals. B and BW has a few good ones, and imo, this is one of them. I get the comparisons to V28, they are similar, but not dupes. Maybe it’s because there are only three notes in WVW, V28 is rich and layered. If you enjoy V28, these are similar enough you’d enjoy this as well. Wicked Vanilla Woods is slightly fruitier, not sure why. But I layer it with the lotion after a shower and it’s sweet and cozy. That’s how I’d sum it up. Sweet, cozy, kinda fruity 🤭cousin to Kayali Vanilla.

Perfect fall/winter vanilla scent. The Amberwood in it gives it that almost slightly incense smokey "witchy" type vibe with the creamy vanilla and sweetish pink pepper. The name of this fits spray fits the scent and is not really for summer. I smell all the notes listed, blended very well. I just feel like if you like sweet but not gourmand scents or any vanilla scents this would be very easy for you to love. Crowd pleasing yet not super overdone scent profile. Blind buy friendly!
