Wild Honeysuckle

I adore this fragrance. I wore it in college while I was dating my husband, and he mentioned how much he liked it. I also wore it down the aisle to wed him on a June morning, and even though it's a humble price point, it was perfect for me and for the occasion! Recently hunted down a bottle on ebay for my ten year anniversary. I hadn't smelled it in years and assumed I'd have outgrown it, but was pleasantly surprised. It's not exactly like a straight whiff of real honeysuckle, but it is definitely reminiscent. It's also surprisingly complex. I can't even pick out the notes but I get a little coconut (gardenia?) and honey under a gazillion white and yellow flowers. It's light and bright, just a tad tart, and super romantic. I agree that it works year-round, even in winter, there is a velvetiness that just works (if you are the type who wants to wear floral scents in the winter, like me). I feel it is long-lasting, but I am pretty sensitive to fragrances. If you are a white floral fan, it's definitely worth a try.

Why are you discontinued, why?! Le sigh. I'm not big on florals normally, but I love this. It definitely smells like flowers, but in a light, sweet way, without the cloying pollen-like aspect that usually bugs me. It has a natural honey-sweetness, like nectar, and it actually has a surprising warmth to it, it must be a hint of musk or vanilla or something. Whatever that is, it just melts into my skin and smells sweet, like a garden in summer, it is AMAZING. It's specifically the EDT that does this too, the lotions are a little more green/fresh, with a little bit of that sneezy pollen quality. It's also probably worth noting, Wild Honeysuckle is my guy's favorite too, and he can be SUPER picky. Everything's always "too perfumey," but he loves this one because reminds him of the honeysuckle flowers outside his house when he was little. I don't know what the real ones smell like, but it's gotta be pretty spot on to have gotten that reaction.

I'm still seething over the fact that Bath & Body Works discontinued this wonderful fragrance. I can't even get the body lotion or body mist anymore, and it's awful! It's not the most accurate honeysuckle fragrance-- it's more like a sweet and juicy honeysuckle if that makes sense. Regardless, it's gorgeous, and it's still one of my all-time favorite florals. It's also hands down one of my most complimented fragrances. It's very pretty, feminine, comforting, etc. I've worn it with blue jeans, I've worn it for special occasions, etc. If I could buy this regularly again, it would probably be a signature scent for me. I still have a bottle of the full size eau de toilette. I have been rationing it for a few years now, and I've taken all of the measures to make sure it doesn't go bad. lol.

Uplifting and feminine. This was my signature scent for almost 10 years. First I picked up the fragrance mist, as it reminded me of real honeysuckle blooming in June in my last home in the humid Mid-Atlantic. To replace it, I got the EDT, which has good lasting power on me with one spritz. I was surprised to see on a box somewhere that there were notes of cassia, honeydew, jasmine, and something else. I really find that the combination is a near-perfect representation of honeysuckle alone. It's definitely appropriate for a younger woman to smell fruity-floral without smelling cheap, but as I get older I may ask for others' opinions on whether I can keep wearing it. I certainly hope to...every time I open the bottle I think, mmm I could smell this all day!

Recently blind bought an older bottle of the EDT (circa 2007). I wasn't sure if I would like it based on the mixed reviews, so I took a gamble. At first sniff, I'm happy to say I was completely delighted! Wild Honeysuckle is a fresh, beautiful, ever-so-slightly sweet floral. I don't get any of the fruity notes at all, but I'm perfectly fine with that. For a frag that I was so doubtful of, I'm surprised that I find it so... intoxicating! It reminds me of being a teenager on a sultry summer night on the California coast, with the sweet scent of flowers hanging in the air. I think it will be a perfect warm weather frag, and I have a feeling this will become my go-to this summer!
