Wild Madagascar Vanilla

This one is so yummy. lots of vanilla, some pear,and I can smell caramel and cream too eventhough they're not listed. it's opening really reminds me of Black Opium Nuit Blanche minus coffee and spices.it has the same delicious milky,buttery sweetness. as it dries down the pear and milkyness calm down a bit and a clean musk shows up and the vanilla feels kind of powdery. in this phase it's vanilla reminds me of the vanilla in Dior Poison Girl which I love.( I don't mean they smell similar. Poison Girl is more complex,has a lovely orangey undertone and is more powdery). anyways, I love Wild Madagascar Vanilla. it's vanilla doesn't smell cheap like vanilla air freshners or cheap vanilla body sprays.all in all I'm a vanilla lover and usually I even like the cheap vanilla sprays but quickly they bore me and feel overwhelming but this one is not just a bland,synthetic vanilla and has real gourmand aspects. it works great for layering and works great by itself. it's almost what I expected Katy Perry Mad Potion to be. fortunately this one has very good longevity and sillage considering it's price BTW eventhough Katy Perry Meow and Wild Madagascar Vanilla share vanilla and pear as their dominant notes, I don't find them dupes(pear is a lot stronger in Meow). I love both of them though اگه جایی این عطر رو دیدید و اگه وانیل دوست دارید حتما بگیریدش. بقیه عطرهای وانیلی ارزون، یجورایی خیلی یکنواختن و آدم سریع ازشون زده میشه. یجورایی بوی خوشبوکننده های هوای وانیلی یا شمعهای وانیلی میدن. اما این اونجوری نیست و وانیلش منو یاد وانیل عطرهای گرونتر میندازه. وقتی تازه اسپری میشه بشدت شیرین و بشدت خوشمزست. کلی وانیل به همراه گلابی و بااینکه بین نتها نیست من کارامل و خامه یا شیر هم حس میکنم. تو این مرحله شبیه بلک اوپیوم نوت بلنش هست منهای نتهای اسپایسی و قهوه.. وقتی زمان میگذره وانیلش پودری تر میشه و واسم یادآور وانیل دیور پویزن گرله که عاشقشم. نمیگما این عطر مشابه پویزن گرله. فقط وانیلشون شبیهه درکل هم واسه لیر کردن و همزمان با عطرهای دیگه اسپری کردن عالیه هم تنهایی. موندگاری و پخش بوش هم نسبت به قیمتش واقعا خوبه.. نمیفهمم چرا یسری عطرهای ارزون تو ایران موجود نمیشن

Bath&body works aren't available where I live and that's a pity This is my first experience with this brand and it was a big Hit! As soon as I sprayed it I felt it's very familiar for me.then suddenly it came to me :It's very similar to black opium.they're not dupes,but they have the same pear,vanilla,white floral combo..for me this is a love child of Black Opium and Viva la juicy,I like both of them very much and this inherites good qualities of both of them so no wonder I love it! Bought the mini in store this weekend and loved it on me that I caved and bought the full size EDP with a coupon. It makes me feel a lot better that this is an EDP, because it does project well and linger and I feel like it reminds me somewhat of vanilla noir, although not as complex as that wonderful fragrance. It unfolds in nice layers on the skin. You can really smell the fruits in the top and florals in the middle notes. The vanilla is super prominent all throughout but it is a dry sandalwoody vanilla rather than a gourmand foody vanilla. I like to have both kinds of vanilla perfumes in my wardrobe. I have already reached for my mini several times, which is why I bought the larger bottle. Bath and Body works should make a 100ml version (maybe they will for the holiday season) I haven't bothered buying a B&BW perfume since Japanese Cherry Blossom like 5 years ago. All of their recent launches have been duds in my opinion, (including Amber Blush and French Lavender and Honey) Vanilla lovers will not be disappointed in this new release.

This is one of my favorite scents of all time. It’s not super sweet and obnoxious, it’s a sexy musky vanilla that smells like it could be super expensive. The lotion is DEADLY, I prefer it over the body mist. My dick appointment special is to take a shower and mix a little coconut oil into a squirt of the lotion and put it all over, then I add Dossier’s dupe for Good Girl as my fragrance on my clothes and guys will tell you “you smell good as fuck” 😂 I’ve even had a lady in Burger King’s drive-thru window tell me how good I smell; people want to know what soap you used, “what are you wearing?” The scent lasts forever, I can smell the lotion on my clothes for days. I go for clean, fresh scents, usually men’s cologne but there’s something about this that is just addicting. I feel gorgeous whenever I wear this lol put this in my casket with VS’s Bombshells In Bloom and I’m set!!

Let me start off by saying I love it!!! Hands down the BEST vanilla ever and I'm a vanilla fiend, I would know. This reminds me of Christmastime in my country because there is a lot of baking going on using tons of vanilla. This is a different sort of vanilla, not just sweet. I detect some spiciness and woodiness that gives it some dimensions. I have it in the mist and body cream and layered together the scent lasts more than twelve hours. I keep sniffing my arm and the bottle caps...I'm addicted. It's so good! P.S. This layers well with any vanilla fragrance too. I tried with Black Opium, Meow by Katy Perry and Amber Romance by Vs. Pure delicious decadence all around! P.P.S Also pairs great with Vera Wang Princess, Avon Tomorrow, Britney Spears Fantasy.....you catch my drift.

I've never smelled the old version of this I recently picked up the new formula at the SAS sale and absolutely fell in love and got myself 3 sets. This lasts on me all day, I was getting whiffs of it throughout the day and still smelled it on my skin after hours of wear. Out of all the mists I picked up at the SAS sale this one was the strongest. The vanilla note is not sweet, it's a very mature and cozy vanilla mixed with jasmine and the pear note makes this fragrance from being too floral and gives it a slight sweetness. This is more of a fall and winter fragrance than summer. I will be using this like crazy this winter, cannot wait.

This really is identical to Bodycology Whipped Vanilla, just a bit stronger. Gourmand vanilla enjoyers probably won't like it as much as other vanilla scents out there; vanilla is definitely the main focus but the floral notes might throw some people off. I love it though, it makes this more of a perfumey vanilla instead of literally having you walking around smelling of baked goods. Definitely stocking up on the lotion and body cream because while I love Whipped Vanilla I also hate the consistency of Bodycology lotions 😵💫

I got 2 small previews of this one when it first came out. It does smell like your typical BBW fragrance. I really enjoy the sweet vanilla aroma in this one. It is similar to forever red vanilla rum, which I also love. This ones a nice, sweet casual pick me up fragrance. I recently got the lotion too. I am noticing BBW lotions hold scent quite well, maybe even longer than the perfumes. I will start to buy the lotions more often.

I really enjoy this gourmand. It's not a bakery vanilla, there is more of a yogurt or parfait aroma. The fruity notes are prominent, especially the pear, and the drydown is creamy and powdery. The sandalwood and musk are noticeable but not overpowering. This is a good vanilla for everyday wear but it's also rather sexy. Sillage and longevity are good but not strong, making it OK for work with a light application.

i love this perfume so much!!! ive only smelled the body spray, but they dont seem to have that on this website and im sure theyre the same obviously. borrowed this from my boyfriends sister, and its my favorite vanilla smell from b&bw of all time. so warm, creamy, and musky the notes play in so perfectly together, i hope i can get a bottle of this for myself <33 super delicious i could smell it forever

This is the new fragrance from B&BW and I LOVE it. It works well with my chemistry and comes off very warm and sultry. I smell vanilla and wood mostly with a hint of musk. Very nice fragrance! Top notes are pear, clementine, and apples. Middle notes are wild jasmine, gardenia, heliotrope, and frangipani. Base notes are vanilla, sandalwood, and musk.

This is an AMAZING exotic vanilla scent. Something people are failing to realize is that there are sooo many different types of vanilla. Madagascar Vanilla had a more exotic essence to it, and this is exactly that. It has depth from the other notes yes, but this is truly what the name is. Not everything will smell like vanilla extract and cookies.

I was so surpised at the depth and complexity of this fragrance. I am going to acquire many bottles of this fragrance due to the fact that so many of the gorgeous scents from B&B are discontiuned. I love the vanilla and the somewhat dark aspects to this fragrance. I cannot wait to get the rest of my bottles of this beautiful creation.

Oh, this was great, so sweet, and juicy, it plays games with your mind. Unfortunately, I wore this in hard for me times, so I can no longer wear it. Great for the office, great for a date. Great blind buy and for a present, especially for a girl or young woman. One of a few BBW fragrances worth repurchasing.

Always have the best compliments on this one!! its perfect for a trip on the beach. I remember going to the dominican republic and a lot of people walking behind me whispering about the good smell of vanilla!! I usually wear just cavalli and this one is the closest to my favorite scent :)

I used it for a couple of days and at first I found it cloying and too sweet. However, I found myself missing this pretty, warm "vanilla" which I realize develops into a perfect combination of sandlewood, pear, musk, and vanilla which stand out most to me. It's on my top 5 now; I LOVE <3

I love this smooth vanilla fragrance. It's delightful and melds nicely with the floral notes. The sillage and longevity are moderate. I agree, it does smell very similar to Forever Red Vanilla Rum. I have both in EDP, can't get enough of this Madagascar Vanilla.

I'm very happy this is returning for SAS. Its quite complex for a body mist and really wish they made this part of the core line. It's vanilla and so much more!! There's something about when you add pear with a warm vanilla note that gives heaven in a bottle.

I can pick up the plumeria,vanilla,sandalwood & musk. After the dry down the scent imo is subltle,long lasting and just smells heavenly!! This body mist is long lasting too especially when used with the shower gel and body lotion/cream

Smells like sickly sweet vanilla bean ice cream🤤❤️😍 god, I really miss this stuff. One of the best vanilla fragrances bath and body works had ever done. It's beautiful! And never smelled synthetic to me.

This is the best Bath and Body Works scent. It's warm and cozy.

Not a marshmallow-y, sugary sweet gourmand vanilla, but a floral, dark fruity, perfumey vanilla that doesn't smell juvenile. I dislike pear and musk heavily, but this doesn't smell TOO mature or powdery at all despite smelling like a grown up vanilla. Ngl I picked this up during SAS because of @wintermonthnovelty 's review jaja. I even made sure to pick up the lotion because she said it was stronger than the mist. I agree that this is a sexy vanilla. I have problems with most vanilla unless they're woody or masculine or like equal parts a different note but this isn't syrupy disgusting or a plain basic cotton candy/vanilla synthetic mess. If you're a vanilla hater like me, this is worth checking out! Super light IMO though Edit: ok maybe its just my skin that doesn't make this last, but the mist lasts overnight at least on clothes so do with that what you will This smells like imagine a warm pear danish without the bread notes. Like the vanilla from baking a pastry and warm subtle fruitiness is what you get in here. Not syrupy / overly sweet. And I HATE pear so I was surprised I like this so much, very pretty

The 2024 Fine Fragrance Mist version: They should have named this Wild Madagascar Pear, it would have been more accurate. Truthfully, it's not a bad fragrance at all, it's really quite pleasant. However, I can see a lot of people being disappointed with this because one would expect a good dose of vanilla and vanilla is not the main focus here. It's a pear-forward scent to my nose with a faint hint of vanilla in the background and I struggle to get any of the jasmine. I believe that all the vanilla does here is help to sweeten up the pear and make the overall composition a little more rich. I don't hate this, in fact, I like it. I do not, however, love it. I ordered two bottles, thinking that it would be back-up worthy but I was mistaken. I am fine with just the one bottle and gave the other one to my friend. Bath & Body Works have done a much better vanilla than this before and I would prefer to reach for one of those over this one, if I wanted to use a fragrance where vanilla was truly the star of the show.

This scent is one of my favorite scents in my entire collection just because I've always wanted to have a vanilla based scent that didn't smell overly sweet or obnioxious. I think that Wild Madagascar Vanilla is the perfect vanilla for those who typically don't like vanilla scents. The floral notes in this scent add a nice touch and make this scent have more of a personaility than most vanilla based perfumes. My only issue with this perfume is that it doesn't last at all!! I can only get maybe 3 hours of wear out of this before it completely disappears. If this lasted longer then it would be almost perfect. I would recommend everyone to get the hand and body cream of this scent because the scent is really strong in the cream and it moisturizes your skin. Pairing that up with my perfume has helped with the lasting power significantly.

I have the body mist of the Forever Red Vanilla Rum and some Vanilla Noir left in a body spray. I feel that this is a close relative, so instead of buying the spray or eau de toilette, I purchased the body souffle. Actually I bought four of them. I love this vanilla and I like the pear, it is light. They are such fantastic handcreams. Whatever they put in that formula makes for a high quality scented cream that makes any vanilla-based scent/spary last. I have been using the souffle as a base with everything from Taylor Swift, to Britney's Curious in Control, to BBW's Vanilla sugar and FRVR and it ramps up the lasting power, adding a lovely dimension. I am really hoping they add this souffle adaptation to some of their winter scents. I'm a believer.

I really like this one, it's one of my favorite's by BBW. People have been saying it smells like Forever Red Vanilla Rum, there are similarities, but they aren't completely the same. My only problem with this fragrance is that it's too light for me, I wish it was heavier, because I find myself spraying this more than I should have to. I just bought this a few days ago, and I have gone through at least 10% of it. I can smell the pear, but it's not overwhelming, or over powering this fragrance. What I smell the most is, white sandalwood, vanilla, pear, and jasmine. Overall I give this fragrance a 8/10, it would be higher if it lasted longer, and if it wasn't so light.

I’m new to this scent but grabbed it because of the hype during this years SAS. My first impression is that it’s very similar to Vanilla Potion from Tru Fragrances. If you’re scared that they’ll discontinue it again or you wish you could have a similar scent in perfume form, check your local Tj Maxx for Vanilla Potion! As for the scent, it’s a nice cozy vanilla! Very pleasant and soft. Not overly gourmand but still sweet. A little fruity at the beginning. I will be grabbing the lotion if I visit the B&BW store again during the sale. Lasts about 2 hours on me, projection is low! Overall nice and cozy bedtime vanilla.

I buy a lot of soaps at BBW and recently tried this out in the store. At first, I dismissed it as another one of their variations of warm vanilla sugar but as it progressed I smelled the pear and the florals. They work very nicely together and this actually lasts about 6 hours on my skin, which is good for a BBW scent. It is very soft but it's a great rendition of vanilla and in my opinion, it is actually nothing like their other vanilla scents. I actually appreciate that they offer the body spray and lotion as well so I don't have to reapply the fragrance. I think layering is key with most of their scents.

A woody, musky vanilla that for me is a miss. I don't hate it, but I don't love it because for me it's not as memorable and doesn't stand out as much as some of their other vanillas. I don't really get the fruity top notes, but rather pick up the floral mid notes and woody base note. I've received comments from a few co-workers that I smell like maple, which I don't get at all from this fragrance. It does develop more in colder weather but I just don't find myself reaching for this one over my other cold weather fragrances.

Finally picked up the recent re-release at SAS! Such a nostalgia kick and honestly smells much better than my stale products I've been saving since high school lol 😅 Such a cozy, spicy vanilla that almost comes off a little powdery. Not even in the realm of "gourmand," which is harder to find in vanillas these days. The pear is somehow both a brightening standout note while also taking a nice backseat, blending in nicely and keeping it from becoming too sweet or too fresh for what it's trying to evoke.

Im not crazy about it on me. The mist also reminds me of the original Viva La Juicy. Nevertheless its a scent I wouldn't reject so I bought it for my mom and on her it smells fantastic; Whenever she wears it I grab her arm and stick my nose on it and take deep breaths hahaha. Projection is excellent and lasting power too.. on my mom that is. Somehow super sweet fragrances transform on her skin. Has to do with one's chemistry I guess.

A very musky, light vanilla. With plenty of pear and jasmine sitting in that ultra blended fruity floral "soup" smell BBW fans are familiar with. Good, but similar to vanilla rum as others have pointed out. If you like pear, jasmine, vanilla rum, and BBW I think you will have a winner. Personally, I prefer vanilla rum which is much smoother and richer. The EDP does have great lasting power, good people pleasing scent for work.

This isn’t your typical vanilla. The musk in this is almost nauseating but this is perfect for layering. I wear this one with warmer scents and it smells really nice.

My signature scent back in high school, REALLY wish they would bring this one back!! Great for fall and winter. Very much vanilla and musk with a hint of spice.

A perfume that really boasts of its vanilla scents. This was a gift from my brother and surprising enough it was a good scent for everyday use.

It’s a sweet fruity vanilla. I guess it’s good if you want to deviate from the usual creamy vanilla. I find it difficult to wear in the heat.

Just have a travel size of the mist but it's gorgeous!!! Lovely, complex vanilla with a hint of flowers! Might have to get the EDT!

This is really similar to Red Vanilla Rum. BBW stock fragrance. Not bad, but you've probably smelled this before.

I agree that this isnt a typical creamy vanilla. Thia is more of a fresh, musky scent to me.

Like many other reviews stated, super sweet vanilla with soft white musk. The musk keeps it from being sticky. There is also another note I can't identify that is bright and fresh but not aquatic in anyway, not floral... Paradelle said, "yogurt" and I agree but it's not the milky feel but the tangy aspect that I smell. This is nice, and slightly different from most (which is rare nowdays) so that adds value to my collection. To sum up, the opening is yummy but the dry down is rather simple and uninteresting. UPDATE I have to declutter this bottle. Everytime I wear it, I feel like it's too sweet and projects too much. I have to wash some off or layer it with something else to tone it down. This might just be too loud or bright for my taste.

I bought the body cream. I like this in spite of it being vanilla. I don't care for vanilla often, but this is nice, and even a bit tropical instead of stuffy and stale. I may one day get the perfume, but only at a very good price. This is nothing, compared to Vanilla Noir that was discontinued. That vanilla was in a class all by itself. I wish they had that again. Also, I have to add, the Ile de Tahiti Coconut Vanille in the blue bottle was the best they've ever offered of ANY scent. That could be their number one selling classic scent to me. I've never had a coconut/vanille, coconut OR vanilla scent as dreamy and out of this world as the Ile de Tahiti scent. This Madagascar is again, nice. It's maybe better than many others. But it's not quite as special as they'd try to have people believe. There's always a percentage that will fall head over heels, but I don't imagine it will be a large percentage. I must also agree with francie79, that it WILL go with ANY vanilla perfume you have! If your a vanilla lover, then buy plenty! This would be great for gift giving, young or old. I think this will bloom in any weather, so it's an all around safe, happy, content little tube/bottle. To me, this makes up for their Warm Vanilla Sugar. It's what I expected Warm Vanilla Sugar to be, and should be. Happy Bath and Body Works Day!

The SA just about choked on himself he was so excited for me to smell this one. "Our finest, most exclusive vanilla," he bragged..My problem with it is, to my nose, it's more fruity than vanilla, and the fruit blend is heavy on pear. (Nothing against pear on anyone else, but it's a note I dislike particularly on me). After the fruit notes the vanilla seems like an afterthought. Wild Madagascar Vanilla is nice enough for hand wash, but it's not a "perfume", or even a favored body wash scent for me. It isn't nearly as outstanding a fragrances as Warm Vanilla Sugar, and it's too similar to Forever Red (but not as lovely or well-balanced), Mad About You, A Thousand Wishes...it's as though Bath and Body Works is attempting it's very own Guerlainade, with a Forever Red accord. The launch for this one is full of hype, but for the occasions when I want a B&BW sugar rush, I still love Warm Vanilla Sugar and I prefer Velvet Sugar to Wild Madagascar Vanilla.

06/04/24 - Returning both bottles. I have a very low threshold to be happy with any vanilla body spray or perfume. Vanilla is hands down my favorite comfort note. I agree with Saj_Shae above, "Not even worth a purchase at the heavily discounted price." 06/01/24 - Review for Summer SAS 2024 Version: Smells nice, incredibly light, I'm a little disappointed. Purchased two bottles, will be returning at least one. Will update if my perception shifts.

There's nothing wrong with this scent, but it doesn't really stand out in a world of vanillas. Wild Madagascar Vanilla is a more mature vanilla than many, but it's still a vanilla, with few other notes to flesh it out and give it depth. This is a warm fragrance, good for fall or winter, with decent longevity and sillage. Fairly authentic, but trending more towards perfumy than gourmand. Fine, but better for the home than the body.

I was hoping for a rich vanilla white floral, after seeing the notes in it. Instead, I get way too much of the pear, and not even a good pear. There's a plastic undertone to it that I really don't like. I was very disappointed to find that the vanilla it's named after is barely present at all on my skin.

* This is for the 2024 body spray version: I blind bought this and sweetheart cherry during the SAS this week. I swore I wouldn't order any more BBW sprays after buying like 50 one summer and only rarely using a couple of them, and usually its for room spray, but im a sucker for anything vanilla. Plus it was only 3$ and some cents so why not? When it arrived in the mail, as I opened up my box with the 2 sprays and 12 hand soaps, I was hit with the smell of yummy vanilla. Something was leaking, per usual. Lol. So I did my normal BBW-rinse everything off- routine. Pretty sure it was the vanilla hand wash leaking. Smells great. On to wild Madagascar vanilla: it opens with typical BBW vanilla but almost instantly take a background seat to what I'm assuming is the pear. And then it very quickly dries down to what can best be described (to my nose) as vanilla linen. That's what they should of named this. I like it and will use it more than 95% of my other BBW sprays. I was pleasantly surprised by this and sweetheart cherry (that was my favorite of the two), but I probably would of enjoyed this more had the name been slightly different. Had this been called something along the lines of vanilla linen I would of thought "wow they nailed the scent and vibe!" I know that's silly but I am almost as much a sucker for good advertising as I am vanilla.

This is another "How the heck did I miss this one?!" for me! I remember sniffing it when it first came out and fearing that it was yet another synthetic,harsh vanilla blend. Then the other day, I found the lotion in the clearance rack and tried it again. Woah! So delicious, sweet, and powdery! I slathered it on before going out for dinner that night. The waitress pardoned herself and said she just had to know what I was wearing, I smelled amazing! I jumped on the BBW site as well as Amazon to track down the EDP and body spray, ax they are now "retired". Vanilla lovers, you can still get your hands in these treasures so don't delay! To me this is the light but creamy, slightly spicy & fruity perfect vanilla blend we've all searched for! So happy I discovered it before it was too late.
