Winter Candy Apple

I'm laughing at all the negative reviews! To each their own I suppose. No, I would not say that B&BW sells "fine fragrance," but I am, admitedly, an addict of their products. I've been a B&BW customer for 15 or more years, so I've tried a lot of their concotions, and I buy quite a lot of their body wash and skin creams. As far as the seasonal line Winter Candy Apple is part of, this one is by far my favorite. I love apple scents anyway and to me this smells just like the candy apples I ate as a kid, growing up on the Jersey shore, in early childhood. I mean, it smells JUST like those shiny, red, sweet treats and I love how it makes me reminisce about happy times. I don't wear it as a perfume, choosing instead for the hand and body washes and the skin cream and lotion. I find wearing it that way it is never overpowering and I get lots of compliments on it.

Winter Candy Apple may not be elegant, but she's December to me. After reading the notes I can seemingly pin-point the orange and the rose, though I detect no trace of cinnamon. This fragrance is teeny-bopper sweet and comes with a blast of a shampoo-fruity-freshness (Herbal Essences, specifically), and it invigorated me through four years of candle sales and 1:00am floorsets at Bath & Body Works in my early 20's. It's a festive daytime scent to wear while you decorate your tree and go window shopping for your mom and scrape the frost off your windshield in the late morning after asking one of your friends to hold your sugary latte. It's the sleigh bells in Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and the glitter that somehow got in your hair even though you haven't touched ANYTHING in this Pier 1 Imports

I just purchased the Ultra Shea Body Cream in Winter Candy Apple today. After showering, I applied it all over and in the two hours since, I haven't been able to stop sniffing my arms. Within the last six months, I have reacquainted myself with B&BW, so I'm new to the reissued holiday scents. Winter Candy Apple is sweet, but not bubblegum smelling. As a rose lover, I can really smell the petal scent of that flower. A cinnamon essence settles on the skin when dry. This fragrance is very pleasant, not obnoxious, and comforting. It feels and smells like a festive product. I will be using it into the winter and will probably return to the store to buy the fine fragrance mist.

Apples, Shampoo & Cinnamon... I find the mist different than the lotion here. For the mist I get apple, apple shampoo/herbal-essence, cinnamon-maple, and the lotion leans more to apple shampoo. There's something cooling here. It's a nice, refreshing apple scent, with a little bit of sweetness & spice in the heart that comes out more over time. I think this would work in winter, but the strong shampoo vibe makes it possible to work in summer as well although I haven't tried it then. If you like apples, shampoo & cinnamon, you would likely enjoy this. Love it. Enjoy!

Here's a twist to an oldie....Winter Candy Apple by itself is good. BUT WCA plus Vanilla Bean Noel is superb!!! Try it. A salesperson told me this in Bath and Body back when it came out. I thought, well, that's a pretty good sales technique! But lo and behold -- it worked! It is just the right amount of sweet, apple, spice, etc. Next time you're in the store -- spray the WCA first and then spray the VBN into the air and sweep your hand through the mist. YES there is a RIGHT way to get the perfect combination! :) Happy sniffing!
