Oud Abramad

A beautiful take on oud. Oud Abramad (OA) is a beautiful sweet, ambery oud. It starts immediately with classic oriental oud, mixed with warm amber accord (incense, labdanum, wood), & with a lovely Arabic saffron & rose combo. That ambery, oudy, arabic smell is then spiced up with cumin, & sweetened with a note that is not motioned that smells like dates. The smell is oudy, woody, ambery, incensy, sweet, saffrony, & lightly rosey. This sweet, ambery, oud/rose scent does share obvious resemblance to the rumored to be now-discontinued MMM Across Sands. The similarity is uncanny! Personally, I prefer Across Sands but the difference is mild. OA smells like Across Sands mixed with a small amount of Armani's Oud Prive. I get why people voted it smells like Armani Oud Royal; they both have an oriental sandalwoody-like smell at the dry down. However, that is more applicable to Oud Royal than OA. OA is also oudier & sweeter if that is something you're looking for. Overall, OA is a beautiful take on sweet, Arabic oud, that is mature & properly unisex with a slight lean towards the masculine side. OA is best worn on cool night. "Love"

Wow! Got this as a sample from my fiancee. This fragrance is lovely. It is truly intoxicating. For me it evokes an attractive, musky, old leather-bound book. This fragrance really makes me want to keep coming back for another sniff. I wouldn't be able to pick out the base notes labdanum, guaiac wood, castoreum, or ambroxan - I'm relatively new to the world of fragrances so I am completely unfamiliar with those notes. But I think that's part of the allure for me! I love the discovery process of sampling fragrances, coming to understand unfamiliar notes, and developing my nose. I can 100% detect the incense pretty much right away. It smells like nag champa, but it isn't too loud or cloying like incense can sometimes be. The oud is also immediately detectable but by no means overpowering. I have trouble discerning the other individual notes, other than the rose and patchouli. It seems very well balanced, well blended and well formulated to me. Definitely glad I have a sample to play with!

I read the comments and I see how it could fool one into thinking that this is a properly nasty animalic barnyard oud, but it's not. It actually reminds me of a scented indian incense stick, it's sour, woody and spicy, there's a touch of oud in the base. But the thing that really stands out for better or for worse, is the slightly sweaty cumin note, that's where all that skankiness comes from. The result is interesting, it's filthy and polarizing but also well balanced, light, playful and wearable. I really like the big, sour, punchy opening, the transitional phase feels a bit chaotic and too heavy on the cumin, but the drydown is harmonious, with a pleasant, natural spicy sweetness that comes out after an hour or so. This isn't for everyone, but it certainly stands out among the countless boring, unoriginal oud scents that the market is flooded with. I'm surprised to see such a daring release from a house that tends to play it rather safe, often to a fault. I'm into it.

Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 7/10 Bottle: 8/10 Batch: 4230615 This is a wonderful fragrance not for the faint of heart. The opening has a lot of oud and animalic notes, so if that’s not your style, stay away. Sample, not something everyone will like. It transforms to a very dry, earthy and smokey scent with some hints of the Castoreum in the background, and eventually sits closer to the skin and is super smooth wood and soft floral notes lingering in the background. This is a wonderfully blended perfume, with an intense opening and a smooth, challenging scent all around. I don’t pick up much of the cumin or ginger, though. I love how it has a pressurized atomizer, and the juice itself isn’t runny, but more of an oil which I like. Longevity is 8-10 hours, sat close to the skin towards the end. I also sprayed everywhere.

I've really enjoyed getting to know this fragrance. I've just basically finished my sample. Oud Abramad is really one of the best Oud scents that I've tried. I agree with other commenters saying that's it's rather dry and medicinal. The first spray is a blast of oud, incense, and cumin which can be a bit much but it dries down into a beautiful incensey-floral oud without that artifical note that so many "oud" fragrances have. It's one of my favorite fragrances that does not have a vanilla and/or tonka base at the bottom. Just well done all around. Definitely thinking of getting a FB at some point.

Just discovered the secret to why the most famous fragrances are so great. Now this scent from BDK smells like delicious plums, reminding me of Tom Fords Plum Jaloponais. Keep getting the delicious plum note accord that is a rare note not found in most fragrances on the market. If you have this in your collection can you tell me if you get a plum accord? I really understand this release now, if I can get some good compliments with this, it might be my new favorite.

Magnifique celui-ci !!! Pour moi le meilleur de tous les Bdk et de loin. C'est un oud parfaitement équilibré Ni occidentale ni orientale, entre les deux , le castoreum apporte un coté cuiré et intense à la fragrance c'est vraiment superbe. Il projette super bien laisse un splendide sillage et la tenue est tres bonne. Il coche toutes les cases . Le parfum penche plus coté masculin , je le porte pour aller à la mosquée c'est une pure merveille... Je valide ☑️

I randomly bought this fragrance at a perfumery in Austria because I felt like I needed something new and special in my rotation. Looking back, it was probably a mistake. The fragrance itself is really nice. It opens with a spicy character and dries down into a beautiful combination of oud and incense. For someone with a large collection, it could be a great addition. Personally, though, I struggle to find the right occasion to wear it.

Absolutely beautiful! I love the strength of this fragrance and its complexity. the woody notes, the spicy notes, the incense, the saffron and ginger..and the oud!! Man this is good. Full bottle worthy for me ( i just have a sample right now). I wear this when I am not in a mood to be chatty and open with people lol...it suits my somber mood just fine. the rose note in here adds just a touch of sweetness to the fragrance.

This was an instant "No, too much!" When I first sprayed it but re-visiting it now, I'm delighted! To me, this is leaning sexy evening masculine. Very woody, but at the same time clean and soothing, like a shower gel. This is not a smell of *his* favourite hoodie. This is the smell of *his* wedding blazer while he kisses you after saying "I do".

A great Oud fragrance, I really like it. Nice smoky medicinal ginger Oud fragrance with some animalistic notes detected. Well thought out and really makes Oud shine. I bought a full bottle. One of BDKs finest, no doubt.

A warm oud that is both masculine and delicious. I think this smells like layering Oud for Greatness with a touch of Baccarat Rouge 540 extrait.

Agarwood to my european nose, intense and deep oriental notes, rich tones. Metropolitan atmosphere. Super!

This is an amazing oud scent! Possibly one of the best I’ve ever tried.

I have sampled a good few "introductory oud" scents recently, and this offering from BDK certainly belongs in this category. Oud Abramad is, as expected, is an oud-dominant scent, but the oud used here is woody and dry rather than skanky and animalic. There is a lovely amber accord that persists throughout, seamlessly marrying with the oud and adding a slight animalic edge, if clean. It is nicely-balanced throughout, and is very well-blended - it is often difficult to pick out individual notes. OA opens with smooth, woody oud, alongside a hint of warm, sweet-spicy ginger. The saffron adds amber-esque spice to the opening, paving the way to the base. The spices complement the oud beautifully. It is dry and smooth here. The cumin follows, savoury and peppery, adding density to the spices. There is a hint of smoke up top. It is all very smooth and rounded, despite the dry, smoky spiciness of the early stages of OA. The amber accord steadily develops as this scent progresses, adding a smooth, musky undertone to the dry wood. The labdanum adds a leather-like quality, smooth and polished with just the right amount of animalic edge. The rose doesn't emerge until the later stages, and plays an unusually small role in a scent of this profile. It lifts the woody-amber accord a little with its slightly jammy sweetness, but I wouldn't consider this to be a true rose-oud scent. Patchouli complements it beautifully, adding a hint of earthiness as it dries down. The drydown is woody, musky, leathery, earthy and dry, yet very smooth and rounded. Creamy ambroxan is put to good use here, smoothing everything together. The fact that there is no vanilla or tonka in the base is quite remarkable, to echo @cloudswirl below. It is smooth and slightly sweet regardless without leaning on these commonly-added base notes. It fades to a musky, slightly spicy skin scent, warm and woody until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. OA is a unisex woody-amber scent, featuring an accessible, unchallenging oud note. It is best worn in cold weather. This is a polite oud, not polarising or off-putting for others - a great everyday oud scent that is masterfully put-together. 4/5.

I searched extensively among European fragrances for an almost straight oud scent with minimal additions and a non animalic profile, and I only found this and Woud and Mood by Unique. As someone who does not like oud, this one is acceptable and non animalic despite the presence of a castoreum note. It fills the oud role for formal occasions without the usual philosophy of extra notes often added to oud such as leather, rose, and patchouli. I wish the spice note was not present, but it is tolerable. The rose note is light, which is good, because the rose and oud combination is unpleasant in my opinion. In short Simple, formal, non animalic oud with dry saffron, not leathery, with a light incense touch. Excellent if you want a standard oud scent, but do not expect creativity in the blend. The fragrance is very simple. Compared to other oud fragrances, I rate it 9.5/10. Overall, I rate it only 7.5/10 because oud is not my favorite note, but this is one of the best. Do not pay more than 100 to 120 dollars for it.

I like this but it's a challenge. Opener is rude, sour, musty, a bit offensive, and I kind of love it. Absolutely unquestionably dry. Smells like fire or poison. Reminds me of the musty interior of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. It dries down into something a little ickier—the rose is revealing. Strong incense note with smoke. My partner smells rotting fruit. Generally reminds me of time in Istanbul and Bosnia, would be an excellent mood setting for that kind of journey. Burnt out buildings, scorching sun. Dessert. Middle East. Like a dead tree struck by lightning, covered in desert flowers. I might like this on my (male) partner...maybe. Half an hour in it goes full-on rose soap, which I don't love—rose often dislikes me, and goes totally to powder.

STUNNING creamy smooth oud with saffron in the opening, it’s so beautiful. Unfortunately the deep dry down is exactly the kind of rose I really don’t like, quite sickly sweet and cloying. It starts to get rosey about two hours in and seems to just get stronger and stronger. This one just makes me sad, if it didn’t have that rose it would be a 10/10 for me, alas, the search goes on. Edit: a bit over one year later and I’m trying this again, im in love - rich spices and oud, a soft rich rose. Ive become more on board with rose lately and am now very happy with this underrated beauty.

The ginger hits you right away. Very nice notes of oud, rose, and safron. Slight smokiness. Strong opening but with a smoother dry down. Well balanced evening fragrance. Unisex but more male-leaning. Very pleasant fragrance, well blended.

A really smooth and refined oud with amber-incense spices and cinnimal facets. I love that it smells similar to the sticks I burn in my house; a cheap sawdust-filled incense, where the wood smoke has that rugged, outdoorsy appeal.

I got this as part of a BDK scent set and I love it - but not on me. It’s a spicy, smoky oud-y scent which lasts the distance and is warm and inviting. It’s masculine and bold - I look forward to smelling it on my husband.

This is a nice oud fragrance. Soft and a bit smokey, not overly sweet. It’s pleasant, but it’s not unique. More masculine than unisex. A nice scent for winter days, but not really a love for me.

90% - 99% similar to Armani Privé Oud Royal, depending on the day. Only diffrence is OR is slightly less cumin Basically a dupe

Oud Abramad is OK in the dark, smoky, oudy, slightly leathery genre. Not bad, but nothing special. I would prefer some of the more opulent scent profiles from The Spirit of Dubai, with their dozens of notes, including fruits, etc. I don't think there is much of an Amber accord in this Oud Abramad, and certainly not at the very top of the accord stack, as shown at the top of this page. I would like it more with more creamy, billowy, vanillic amber. And get rid of the cumin, a note I hate. It doesn't manifest much cumin beyond the opening, but still.

I blind bought this one after hearing good things. It’s a decent fragrance but I don’t love it, I get faint saffron that’s quite nice with a powerful dose of cumin. I personally think the cumin is too much and slightly ruins the fragrance and then I get a heavy incense fragrance. I definitely don’t get any strong oud in this one it’s so faint and soft as far as the oud goes. If I had tested this fragrance first I would have passed on it but it’s not a bad fragrance just not for me. Anyone looking for a trade I have a full bottle.

This is overpowering inscense and oud to me, I have no idea where the top and middle notes disappear to bc I straight up can't detect them. I might need to spend a bit more time with this but I find this a challenging perfume to wear so that's not gonna happen. I would probably appriciate it more on someone else.

Blind buy. I don't find the oud particularly heavy at all...far from it..wish it was a lot stronger. It only gives off smoke and cumin on my skin. Weirdly enough, it gives me vibes of a smokier version of TF Plum Japonais. Abramad may grow on me, but for now it's all smoke and mirrors.

A better take on Mancera Precious Oud. Ouds are hard to impress me nowadays as the bar has been set very high by those I have in my collection, so it's a pass for me. Still, not a bad scent.

Would love as a candle or something. Too intense to actually wear imo. But it honestly smells SO good

#1523 in my "Tour de Fragrance" So I had a few extra bucks this month and got sloppy. I broke my own rules about not buying scents priced over $100 or scents with a rating below 4.00 without trying a decant first. So among the dozen or so bottles I ordered (scents which were either under $100 or I had tried a decant first), I found this on clearance at $106, temptation overcame me, and I went for it. The notes looked well-matched to my taste: woody, anamalic, incense. It's not my first BDK. I was thrilled with "Gris Charnel." Hated "Tubereuse Imperial" and "Rouge Smoking", so I had no good reason to break discipline and buy this. My rules are there for a reason and I made those rules after wasting, I'm embarrassed to even say how much money, on mediocre and/or non-performing fragrances. Sadly, at first spray I was not impressed. Pretty much all saffron and cumin, not oudy at all, indetectable rose, incense, castoreum. Barely arm's length projection, very poor longevity. Applied it at 6am, barely a skin scent by 10AM. You'd have to overspray for it to be noticeable to others by lunchtime and it would still dry down to a nondescript, very dry saffron. Given how generous Fragrantica users are, a 3.7 rating is a huge red flag. There have been a few times I've ignored a rating this low and been delighted. This is not one of those.

Without any doubt, a great oud fragrance, very aptly named. But in my opinion it comes across as a very masculine scent. And not the kind of oud fragrance that me, as a female, would ever enjoy wearing. Sorry if sounds negative, I don’t think the scent itself is a bad one at all. I appreciate it for what it is even though it’s not for me! I applaud the the fact that Oud Abramad has a strong oud smell, as any fragrance that is called oud anything should be smelling like. But oud mixed with cumin and castoreum and saffron it’s simply too much for my taste. It’s too pungent, bitter and sour, skanky and animalistic on me. And not very oud friendly for oud beginners in my opinion.. I can imagine Oud Abramad as an absolute favourite for a mature man who enjoys this kind of fragrance profile. The fragrance is very good! But more for wear during the colder seasons. I cannot detect here any small trace of either rose or ginger, maybe some small amount of labdanum, incense and patchouli. Has a bit of an ambery facet. Overall, very strong smell, very long lasting and good projection for the first 2-3 hours and very oud heavy, a good amount of bitterness, lots of woods. Very mature, masculine scent!

This perfume opens up very incensy with tones of cumin and oudh, overall it reminds me of the ink I used to refill my fountain pen in high school. I would say that the incense overpowers the oudh and the oudh has a medicinal tone. It is an ok fragrance with a good longevity but moderate projection. This would be a nice perfume but for the dry down which has a bad pungent smell. Try before you buy! Scent: 4/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 7/10 Cost ratio: 3/10 Overall: 5.5/10 Love it or hate it. The story behind this scent is a bit cheesy. There are tons of other woods of much better quality.

Smells manly, like a lumberjack. It was SPICY at first and I hoped it'd dry down different. I can't remember if it did. In any case, not for me.

On my skin this smells heavy, very warm spices and it has a unisex character: I could both men and women wearing it. It's just not my type.

I prefer the softer sweeter ouds.

I'm not going to lie, this smells like feces on my skin, like a stool sample. To be more precise now I smell like the inside of a horse barn; before cleaning it out. I can see why this smell would be attractive to some people but where would I wear that? Horses, horses, horses. Riding a horse is awesome, but buying the scent of its fecal matter? In dry down it's more like a saddle that is being stored in the stables. I'm thinking about gifting this sample to my brother without telling him anything about my experience. Lol. It's definitely intimate

I knew that I have smelled it before, it's extrmely similar to Oud Royal by Armani Privé, and also reminds me a bit of Bentley Intense for Men. Cumin, Incense and agarwood are the main players here. I like the scent but it isn't innovative by any means, for a brand that describe itself as creative and bla bla. Think of it that way: 90% Oud Royal, 10% Bentley Intense Men. Longevity is around 4-5 hours for 2 sprays at the same spot. Update: upon giving this a few wearings I realized it smells rancid in the drydown.

Absolutely NOT my cup of tea, I'm afraid. I'm getting a horrible powderiness mixed with smoke and a tiny hint of oud - it smells like rotting potpourri caught in a wildfire, and it makes me feel a little sick. I had high hopes, but, alas...

It is disappointing. I don't get any saffron, ginger or rose it's too heavy in cumin. It's a pass.

Blind-buy, first impression Tbh, I am daring in the mood to enter the world of Oud. I am on a whim, to the world of oreintal I decided to blind buy Oud Abramad, It is my only way to test this out as we don't have BDK here in Bangkok. When applied, a lot is really going on. I am mildly panic and fear. Because, this is consider very daring to my olfactive. The opening is very medicinal oud to my nose. I don't detect anything in top note (Ginger of Saffron). Luckily after 5-10 minutes, the scent settled down tally into smooth oud, in wheel of Tom Ford Oud Wood. No, this is not anyway as mild as Oud Wood. Oud in this is much more intensive than Oud Wood. And also, slight drier, it enhance mildly with animalic feel nicely. Both face linger for around 10 minutes. After the first daring is done, here come the 2nd phase comes to challenging me. The Incense here is EXTREMELY prominent and cover the oud in this, come in "Dhoopam" manner from India. JoeyC is correct, this smells like "Nag Champa" it stays along with the Oud, which now turn animalic. Both scent work hands-in-hands, revoke strong memory of Hindu temple. Luckily, there is a helper in the rendition the rose nuance present mildly to lighten over all scent. Slight sweet, jammy. You won't get straight rose like that, it is only nuance but I am glad she's here. The scent stop developing apart from Oud and Incense becomes star of the show at difference time. Rosy nuance always in background as a help for the show. While I read a lot of review below and this consider a smooth oud, I think it may. Because this is my 2nd purchase on Oud fragrance and I can still tolerate it nicely. Anywhere further than this might be broderline unusable for me. I have to wear him more, I feel like I might develop my oud test after all.. Don't want to score now, coming back later. ===== Edit 1 : 10 June 2023 They says 3rd time is a charm and it seems right, tonight I wear test the 3rd time and I feel like I understand him a bit more. The scent is in line with other spicy wood fragrance with incense (TF Bois Marocain, TF Ebene Fume) bug it is much deeper contribute by oud note. Assisting by mild sweetness from rose and hot property of cumin. It’s very pleasing and charming. It smells sophisticate and it is not really challenging you to much. You must like Woody + Incense (with mild oudy note to appreciate this one but this is wonderful). Final score Score 9/10 Projection : moderate high becomes moderate, never skinscent. Longevity : 8-9 hours Classification : Unisex leans masculine (it is actually neutral but I think this smells slightly better for guy) ===== Edit 2 : December 5, 2023 (Good bye note) I recently sold my bottle of Oud Abramad a few days ago. While I personally enjoy Oud Abramad, I personally think this is slightly too spicy / too strong for normal norm people in Thailand, there is nothing to soften the scent. However, Oud Abramad assists me discovery my palette of Spicy-Incensey-Wood scent. As it opens the new door to discovery another scent in the journey. Oud Abramad also helps me actualize certain teste in Oud fragrance. I think this work like a corner stone in my Oud fragrance journey. For day time appropriate oud, I actualize with MEMO paris - Shams Oud (Oud of the Sun) Which have slightly softer / more powdery / sweeten oud profile. Any how, I thanks Oud Abramad for as few first fragrance in Oud journey after Oud Wood. And I will encourage you to take a journey, venture new fragrance too. Final Evaluation : 9/10

Dates, plummy, European style oud. There is huge doses of dates, & plums in here that sweetens the scene of amber, labdanum, guaiac, agarwood, big time cumin, & castoreum. Also i can detect the sharp notes of red roses, ginger, and saffron! It does remind me allot of "Across Sands" by Maison Martin Margiela with that plummy, sweet dates type of oud, but in a MUCH balanced and more artistic than "Across Sands"! cause there is something unusual and tricky in here!!! There is a hazy sour dark note that really impresses me SO MUCH! i can't sniff it directly as it's like an extreme far away bright dirty spot on the end of a tunnel that you can barely see! but you are overly loving the idea of that mystery spot! and the excitement that you have to find out! it's just like that..... and i believe it's the henna, guaiac, and castoreum mix that created that dark note! This one is superbly impressive for European style oud with mild sweetness, and slight animalic scene. I do imagine this in my collection so far!

I got a sample from the store and tried this one a couple of times. It's a nice oud scent which may be harsh at the opening, but nice in the dry down. The problem is, this resembles a lot of oud oils you can get for example in Dubai, which outperform this fragrance by a LOT. Ajmal Barraqa is pretty much the same and is a BEAST, especially since it's an oil. Got that one last year in Dubai for about 20-25 euros for 20 ml oil which will last you a long time. Unfortunately it is no longer available, but I still have half a bottle of that one. Won't be buying this one. Performance is just not so good imho. I have it on me right now, sprayed it about 5 hours ago (2 on the wrist and 2 back of my neck) and it's pretty much become a (weak) skin scent that is hard to detect. Not worth the price imho. Scent is great, performance bad. 6.5/10

The ginger and saffron in this gives me strong carrot cake vibes and really reminds me of my grandma’s baking cupboard. This is a very mature, masculine, incensey oud with a rather sweaty cumin and sweet, leathery castoreum which, all together, pushes it a tad too far into “cooking” territory for me. Like someone else said, this is dry and fiery... like the inside of an oven. It just has this savoury character that I struggle to vibe with but that doesn’t mean to say I find it unpleasant, in fact I can’t keep my nose away from it as it’s quite the challenge, just not particularly wearable and unlikely to get positive reactions from people -if that’s what you’re looking for.

Oud Abramad is a super nice oud, really smooth, with barely any harshness. I smell all the spices as part of the woods, it's a woody fragrance where the other notes are hard to discern, except for maybe saffron and incense, which do provide a little sharp smokiness. I like it, but I don't think it's special or unique, other than that it's a high quality woody fragrance. Smells like outdoors, firepits, forests, cabins, and fall - very comforting for this rainy day as we head into the new season.

No sweetness at all, dry oud, leather and incense. Nothing else. Not my usual choice but I can see how this can add a nice base/longevity for floral perfumes, making them a little darker. Although dark in character it isn't conjuring images of vampires, which is what I usually look for in the dark genre of perfumes. This is more of an Arab uncle scent BUT mixed with a strong heady rose, smells beautiful!

-Spicy oud scent, that surprisingly leans feminine. -Comes across a little stern...like it would suit an individual who often wears a poker face. -The individual wearing this scent is wearing glasses with a cat-eye frame. She is clad in a black leather jacket, earth-toned knit and a long white mermaid skirt with lots of movement to it. Professional, put-together and slightly stern. (-)

Recently, my girl has offered it to me, I'm definitely surprised and happy with the result, I never hear something about this new french brand before, there is an pretty good olphaltive footprint, really upsetting and captivating. It's beautiful fragrance wooded and oriental!!! For the record, everyone asks me where I bought it, so it means a lot to me !!! Without hesitation, try it!!

Smoke, unwashed carrot, sweet liquorice, hint of absinthe, cumin and leather. Very dry scent. Quite hard to decipher, especially in high heat. The notes just kind of melts onto your skin.
