The Perfect Summer (and Year-Round) Salt Fragrance! Year round due to its smooth, elegant and sensual quality. After using a full bottle for a month, I can confidently say this is the most enjoyable and versatile fragrance I've ever worn. Marine, fresh, ozonic, and solar. At first, I didn't think much of the citrus notes, but I soon realized they add a subtle beachy-sour touch, especially the pamplemousse. There’s even a moment in the heart where the fragrance faintly echoes the floral-green, citrusy dry-down of L'Eau D'Issey, a scent that holds a special place in my memory. Sel D'Argent lasts throughout the day with just a couple of sprays, thanks to an incredible nozzle that provides excellent diffusion and control. The blend is so seamless that it's hard to pick out individual notes, yet each one plays a role in its beautiful composition. The opening brings a hint of immortelle or cumin to my nose (don’t ask me why), but it's perfectly balanced and only lasts a couple of minutes. From there, the heart and base return to a warm, salty-sandy beach sensation that truly transports you to sunny, carefree days. Longevity? 12+ hours. Sillage? Impressive, with noticeable whiffs even at the end of the day. Definitely try before you buy, as it works exceptionally well with my chemistry, particularly with salty accords, Iso E Super, ambergris, calone, and seaweed absolute. My go-to for summer is officially sorted—and I may even need to stock up!

It is the kind of perfume that does not reveal itself easily, you have to wear it properly to better get it(as many reviews confirm). Smelled on paper, sprayed on your arm, in a shop, or sampled among friends, it can seem quite simple. But for me, in its dry down, under high temperatures, and with a clean nose free from other scents, its magic appears, especially when smelled from a distance rather than by putting your nose right to it. The salty skin scent is incredible. The salt here doesn’t smell of seaweed... it is more reminiscent of the salt that lingers in the rock crevices of a Mediterranean cove, carried by the warm August breeze. It also recalls the smell of your skin after a long day at the beach, when you’re tired, dry, and ready to leave, with that mix of salt and sunscreen (perhaps thanks to the little touch of ylang). Naturally, for me, it doesn’t really suit the beach itself, but rather those moments when you want to recreate that feeling elsewhere, like in the office during summer or on a warm night. Curiously, it’s not very popular in the fragrance community, which also tends to be the case with most of the perfumes I love 😅, but it does appeal to the general public. Beautiful bottle.

It’s good but very in the way of Villa Néroli also by BDK, but a less sweet and less floral version. Reminds me of a solar protector with citrus and florals, on my skin that salt note gives me a coconut/coconut water smell, very fresh but I’d go with Villa Néroli 9/10 times. Good thing it’s that if you are wearing this, you will smell very different from the others, it gives me a little vibe to Pacific Rock Moss in the drydown, so a lot of people will like this. 7.5/10 solid but not too special. Update: This is starting to grow on me, that similarity of the salt note with sunscreen really makes me wanna wear it on hotter days. Longevity is also a very strong feature in the fragrance. Try before buying, the salt note tends to behave different on every person, but if it suits you, this may be one of your favorites for spring/summer. 9/10

Absolutely LOVE This scent is not at all up my alley yet somehow i can get enough of it. I usually like the gourmands, dense, woody, spicy scents *and* usually dont love orange blossom in scents bc very strongly associate it to a family member who wears only that, yet somehow this one is just the right balance of tart and fresh that i just love coming out of the shower or before bed. You definitely get a lot of salty aquatic citrus in the opening, followed up by orange blossom florals and musks. So relaxing and calming and innocent/charming. I absolutely love it. Is it revolutionary? No. But is it good. Oh yes. Also lasts pretty well for a freshie There’s a time and place for this; out of shower, hot summer days, crisp nights before bed... but it’s a great classic fresh and musky fragrance to round out your collection.

I found this on a search for a summer fragrance without dominant citrus or aquatic accords. I enjoy both of those things, but when it comes to summer fragrances my options felt limited to those two genres. Enter this fragrance. This is sort of a minimalist take on a summer scent with a sea-like vibe. It’s like you ran through dune grass next to the sea. The saltiness of the sea clings to your skin as the smell from the dune foliage envelops you. It ultimately smells like a salty musk. The citrus isn’t dominant at all, it’s just there to brighten up the intro. It is synthetic/perfume-y. That’s not a negative thing in nature, but don’t expect anything too natural or airy. It is fairly dense for what it is. It’s not for everyone, but it works for me. Truly unisex. Beautiful in the summer heat! It’s an 8 out of 10 for me.

It's a very unusual scent in the summer collection. On the opening, you perceive the citrus in a very photorealistic way, a slightly sharp sea salt, almost animalic, and in the background you feel the iso-e-super, ambroxan, musk and cashmeran that soften the experience. If you put your nose close to the skin, these notes feel like they collide, however in the sillage all the notes blend together in a very pleasant way. After 10 minutes, the animalic beast in the salt becomes soft and instead of feeling scratchy, it caresses you. The dry down is truly unique in summer perfumery. In my opinion, it's a super good option if you're looking for something fresh for warm weather but you're tired of the same citrus DNA that's usually found in fresh perfumery. Unisex but more masculine.

This is very manly scent. Or is it just on my skin? Either way, I'm madly in love! I wish my man was willing to wear this. Grapefruit and salt is what you'll smell all around, but on your skin it's woody and floral. Ylang-ylang is most prominent from the florals, slightly sweetening the manly musk with grapefruit. Salt is gentle and just created the impression of fresh ocean breeze around you. It's very clean and pleasant but definitely not boring or "simple shower gel". I wanted full bottle from the very second I smelled my sample. Unfortunately, on me it was very short lasting and my man prefers Dior Fahrenheit as his signature everyday scent 😣

This smells like summertime magic to me. I immediately imagine myself on South Beach absorbing vitamin D from the sun and smelling oceanic salt and coconut on my skin. Then it hits me...I know this smell. I know it so well, that I begin thinking of a family member who is a makeup artist—-random connection? Nope. It’s because this fragrance smells EXACTLY like Turquatic by MAC! I wore the shit out of Turquatic after a Miami vacation in 2012. BDK’s blend last much longer and of course is more finely blended. I get that the fragrance is familiar to a lot of noses but I really don’t get the shade and hate for it; it smells lovely!

Beautiful ! Grapefruit got me in the opening. Salt is furtive but is in its place. I smell sweet orange blossom lay on musk. This scent is clean, fresh, aquatic and floral. Truly unisex and perfect for the summer. I'm not imagining myself by the sea but among the orange trees blooming. That's not because there is salt in the composition that you have to imagine yourself drinking sea water ... I know that is not extraordinary but its stands out compare to certains fragrances of this category. Tried a full sample vial on my skin and i think this is really great. At the beginning it smells very salty and lemony, i really dig it. The drydown switches into a sexy musky perfume with an aquatic vibe. I think it is really sensual and fresh, modern perfumery, and it sticked on my clothes for several days. Has a very little similar vibe to the drydown of Pacific Rock Moss but much more salty, price is high for me, i would defo buy a 50ml bottle for 80€ but i wouldn't buy a full 100ml for 175€

Love love love this one. It is definitely a summer scent. It smells like a summer holiday for me. Like I have been on the beach all day... been swimming in the salty sea, my suntan lotion a little faded... Walking back to my hotel and smelling citrus in the air. This scent just makes me happy. And the people around me too. Like with any BDK perfume I own (Pas ce soir & Gris Charnel) this scent is not in your face but more subtle. My favorite summer scent.

Due to the name, I very much expected this to be a salty aquatic that kind of punches you in the back of your throat like some “salty” fragrances do. Pleasantly it does nothing of the sort. It is salty almost in a bath salt way. It is smooth and while the orange blossom is the most noticeable note, it smooths it out and gives it an almost powdery cleanliness. Very pure and high quality fragrance. My type of fragrance.

Oceanic and citrusy vibes. I don’t personal think it smells like toilet water, but I get what people are coming from. This is a great summer fragrance that isn’t too salty or sunscreeny. I feel like this is just better French Rivera by Mancera. Definitely would recommend if you like fragrances like French Riviera! Very modern marine scent. Not overly marine, which I appreciate, because even I love marine scents, but I'm a little tired of the exact notes of sea, salt, or algae. Here, you can't pinpoint any of those notes, but it's still a marine, fresh, and sexy scent—super wearable perfume, even for the gym. Great for hot days, and it has a very original, clean scent.

I love this perfume, but it's a skin scent on me; I just wish it projected more! Salty, musky bergamot. I've been looking for oceanic scents that are not tropical or super youthful and this is the best one so far. Maybe it doesn't project because it actually just smells like a human body after a summer swim?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I get absolutely no urinal (or urinal cake) scent. What I dio get is an overwhelming sense of déjà vu, memories of when I was a boy at the shore, when the waves would roll over my head. I really like this fragrance. Not sure about performance just yet...

This one is special. It opens up like a salty marine fragrance and turns into a musky, almost playdough and herbal lactonic skin scent. Would make one hell of a signature. More than initially meets the eye and is incredibly sexy in its gender-neutral dry-down.

This smells great. Aquatic scent with florals and dries down to musky with some florals and lingering aquatic. Does not smell at all like toilet or bathroom on me at all. Super fresh and invigorating and relaxing. Could be worn anytime of year day or night.

it’s like you smell your skin after you were swimming in the sea and you let it dry in the sun, put the sun cream on it and get a little sweaty, but you are sitting on a beach and there are some white flowers blooming somewhere near you for some reason

i’m obsessed with this scent. whenever i wanna feel like i’m sitting on the beach i reach for this one. to me is the perfect summer perfume. so gorgeous and classy 🩵🩶🤍

I just received a huge sample And I love it

Today we're moving onto what I'm assuming from the bottle color will be a fresher fragrance from BDK; Sel d'Argent. After running it through Google Translate, I'm learning the name means Silver Salt. Based on that, I'm expecting something salty and probably aquatic? That tracks with the blue bottle. Anyways, let's get into it and see what we got; Scent: The opening is salty, citrusy, and floral. The primary notes I get are salt, grapefruit, bergamot, and Tunisian orange blossom. The strongest of the notes are the salt and grapefruit. The salt is the first note I noticed after the first spray, and reminds me of a sea salt accord; salty but also a bit aquatic, like the smell of ocean spray (actual ocean spray, not the drink). Right along with the salt in equal part is the grapefruit; citrusy, tart, slightly bitter. It reminds me of the type of grapefruit notes used in some of D&G's Light Blue fragrances, namely Light Blue Eau Intense. The grapefruit and salt together are very evocative of the same type of oceanic and citrusy vibe that fragrance gives; albeit Sel d'Argent is noticeably higher quality. Up next is the bergamot and Tunision orange blossom. The bergamot adds a bit more citrus accompanied by distinctly fresh spicy and aromatic undertones, very typical of the note. Lastly, the Tunisian orange blossom wafts in and out of the background with a white natural floral accord nuanced with freshness, sweetness, and just a touch of animalic warmth. The dry down is salty, musky, and citrusy. The primary notes I get are musk, salt, grapefruit, and ISO E Super. The strongest of the notes are the salt and musk. The salt is still a focus in the dry down, giving it the same oceanic vibe as the opening. Meawhile, the musk has emerged to provide a clean, fuzzy, and fresh accord reminiscent of fresh laundry. This is followed by the grapefruit and ISO E Super. The grapefruit is still present in the dry down with the same citrusy and bitter accord, but it's dialed back from what it was in the opening. Lastly, the ISO E Super adds a subtle woody undertone to the dry down and reminds me of the way the ISO Super in Bleu De Chanel comes across. Performance: Initial projection within the first hour is very strong and can fill a room. Sillage matches that intensity with a bright but dense scent trail. After about 4 hours the projection had died down but was still about 3-4 feet, and the scent trail was a bit lighter but was still easily noticeable. At the 7-8 hour mark the projection was about arms length and the scent trail was still noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent around the 10 hour mark. When to wear: Sel d'Argent is a spring/summer fragrance best suited for daytime wear. This is a casual wearing fragrance that pairs well with shorts and t-shirts out in the sun, on the beach, or by the pool. This would also be a suitable pick to wear to the gym, but I wouldn't wear it to the office. Blind buy: If you enjoy fragrances like D&G Light Blue Eau Intense, or you just enjoy fresh, musky, and aquatic fragrances in general, this is a safe blind buy for you. Final verdict: D&G Light Blue Eau Intense is one of my favorite summer time fragrances, and with Sel d'Argent being so similar to my nose this was a very enjoyable wear for me as well. Fresh, salty, citrusy, aquatic, these are all great adjectives to describe this supremely refreshing fragrance. The salt really sets the tone, and makes this fragrance very invigorating and oceanic without any actual "ocean notes". When it comes to performance, this fragrance did very well considering how fresh it is. Very strong projection and scent trails for the first hour and lasting around 10 altogether before becoming a skin scent. In terms of versatility, this would technically be considered below average for me. It's a hot weather fragrance that can be worn casually or to the gym, but that's about it. In the category of mass-appeal, I would call this average. Most people will find this pleasant smelling at the very least. Some people will get turned off by the saltiness, but some people (like me) will fall in love with it for that same reason. In conclusion, I think Sel d'Argent is a wonderful summertime fragrance, and I would definitely buy a full bottle if not for the fact that I already have Light Blue Eau Intense. The similarities between the two are very stark, and as such would make this a redundant purchase for me. However, once I run out of Eau Intense, I can definitely see myself getting a bottle of this instead since it is objectively the better crafted fragrance. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 7/10

Sel d'Argent is a marine scent, not my favourite scent profile, but it is a nice example of the genre. As expected, it is salty up top, bracing and fresh in the manner of a sea breeze, but this time it is paired with beachy white florals, the kind that I associate with suntan lotion-esque scents. It is a nice amalgamation of both types of what I deem "beachy" scents: both marine saltiness and tropical white florals. It thankfully avoids window cleaner territory, a common pitfall of marine scents. SA opens with a bracing salty accord from initial spray, with citrus notes enhancing the freshness. I get tart grapefruit in particular, an underrated citrus note in my opinion, and it complements the salt to perfection. The citruses pave the way to the orange blossom, the most prominent floral note of this perfume, whose tropical sweetness forms the backbone of the beachy part of this scent. Ylang ylang follows, creamy and tropical, rounding out the floral heart. I get a slight green undertone thanks to the galbanum, but it is very subtle. It becomes steadily muskier as it dries down, with a prominent Iso-E-Super note evident as it fades. The drydown is warm and rounded despite being synthetic, never harsh. It remains a musky floral scent until final fade, punctuated by salt. Sillage and longevity are moderate, and it is a unisex summertime scent. A suntan lotion scent featuring a salty marine accord, SA is a pleasant, breezy scent, an easy reach in hot weather. The saltiness adds freshness to the tropical florals, which can be in danger of becoming cloying. Youthful freshness, but done slightly differently. 3.5/5.

Sometimes I don’t read reviews at all before assessing a fragrance for myself but for this one the reviews were so low I was curious. I was confused by all the complaints here about a smell of toilet cleaner since that’s not what I’m smelling at all. I wonder if people are initially smelling the orange blossoms in this. This particular orange blossom has a soapy edge to it straight out of the bottle, it’s very strong and noticeable but fades fairly quickly into that orange blossoms musk that I guess you either love or hate. I love it, this feels like a very genuine orange blossom. The salt in this is also lovely, and the overall effect exactly matches the brands description of this- a summery beach fragrance. It’s not groundbreaking, it’s been done, but it’s nice. Replica Beach Walk is similar but much sweeter and has a more generic floral note that might be more mass appealing. The dry down on this is a pleasant mild wood, it’s very subdued by this time, almost a skin scent. Overall I found this nice but not memorable enough to buy a full bottle.

Sel D’argent is very musky, effervescent, fresh, marine like, citrusy/zingy, and salty with florals. This fragrance is gorgeous to my nose this smells like a higher quality niche version D&G light blue eau intense with some natural ingredients. This fragrance also smells like Eden Roc by Dior however there’s coconut in Eden roc and that’s why I think this smells closest to D&G light blue eau intense minus the florals. In the beginning I thought there is no way this is a unisex fragrance because it smelled manly and very aquatic, marine, and salty like. Then on the dry down the floral aspect in this fragrance comes through and makes this slightly feminine imo. Although, I believe this a great unisex fragrance. I personally don’t see my self wearing this because the galbanum floral comes and shines in the dry down mixing weirdly for me with the aquatic accords.

A musky aquatic. Sel d'Argent (SdA) is one of BDK's best, in my opinion. It is a fresh aquatic scent, with a fluffy creamy musk, a touch of fresh & crisp white florals. Aquatic, musky, fresh, salty, slightly-grassy & green. It's fresh & invigorating. It brings images of a green garden with a water fountain. A beautiful fragrance, although overpriced. It reminds me of another musky aquatic fragrance by Al Haramain called "Shefon", the one that's in a blue bottle. Shefon is a much more affordable alternative, & to be completely honest, I prefer its smell over SdA. Unisex, warm weather. Big "Like'

I am incredibly impartial about this fragrance. I enjoy it, but at the same time, I feel unsure about it...? I will start by saying I have not smelled anything like it before, and It is definitely suited for warm weather. I can completely understand why someone may not like this, but out of many of my fragrances, this one has gotten me SO MANY compliments, which did genuinely surprise me. I enjoy it for it's uniqueness, and it's ability to stand out. Not sure if I would re purchase this one, as I believe the other options in the Azure Collection to be more appealing. This one is.......unique.

What I get out of Sel D’Argent is mostly salt, orange blossom, and musk. It doesn’t give salty sea air vibes, but more so dried sweat on your skin after you’ve been in the sun all day. It’s both marine and slightly animalic. I’m actually glad it’s not a powerhouse fragrance because I think it would turn kind of rank if they turned it up a notch. Overall, not a bad scent for summertime. It’s just not very unique. Your typical citrusy-aquatic summer fragrance. I like it, but I’m not wowed by it.

What a delicious soft yet refreshing salty marine experience I get with this fragrance. It opens with grapefruit and salty marine notes which I really like. If you are looking for that bright laundry aquatic vibe, this isnt it since it is soft overall. Love it - but disappointed in less than great performance. I got a great deal on a large bottle and will be spraying the heck out of it all Summer! The bottle is really beautiful too.

I like this fragrance a lot, but it is rather light. More for indoor use than outdoor tho the warmth of the sun helps. It is very fresh and clean. Feels like working in an office in a California beach town. Villa Neroli on the back of the neck, and this everywhere else, makes both of them better. Villa Neroli is a pretty loud and sweet floral and this one is pretty faint. The combo works well.

8/10. At first it was just an unoffensive and salty spray to wear at work, but after repeated wears I noticed the subtle floral notes make it much more interesting than just being unoffensive. Nice quality. I'm about to finish my sample but don't plan on buying another one. Might be the best scent for work.

My first thought is "updated Cool Water". Feels fresh and pleasant the way Cool Water for women did when I first smelled it in the 90s, before that calone watermelon note became so dated. This is a bit more musky and less fruity/sweet, though it definitely has some similar ozonic/"aquatic" compounds.

The more salty scents I experience the more I like them. This one wins IMO. It's the musky floral with a kick of amber that blends so well with the salty marine. It's a sunset stroll on a Mediterranean boardwalk on the way to an early evening repast of salty rimmed glass cocktails and apps.

this might be a marine scent I actually like. Lasts a long time too, I don't know why everyone is so hateful about it. Whether we like a scent is often culturally determined, where I live, cleaning products does not smell like orange blossom, maybe that is in my favor.

This is a beautiful aquatic Summer time fragrance! Really good projection and longevity. The musk and sweet aquatic makes it feel more feminine leaning on my skin instead of truly unisex. Definitely Full bottle worthy especially if you love a good aquatic scent

I didn't get wow-ed by this fragrance, until I exposed it to the hot/warm weather outside. I honestly thought it was just meh, while sampling. Once the sun hits your skin with this beauty on, it's a whole different story. A very solid like!

It has something herbal and fizzy in the back? citrus and salty musk sre a core of it but this lingers, clinging to the nostrils for a moment. Sadly Sel d’ Argent is so faint.. Smells like sexy skin, beautiful but also can pull a lil funky

Agree it does have a “Toilet Water” smell at first that I do not like at all. However, give it 20 minutes to dry down and this turns into a very beautiful salty sweet musk fragrance that I actually thoroughly enjoy!

nice airy salty musk. a little bit too airy and subtle for my tastes. a like not a love. that being said, I'm not getting urine at all, so I'm not sure why people are saying that.

Sweet yet fresh and quite herbal. To me 4/5, to be tested again

I got a sample of this one in the discovery set, which I would definitely recommend over getting this as a blind buy. I enjoyed the citrus in the opening, but it gets overpowered by ylang ylang pretty quickly, which I unfortunately don't enjoy. The dry-down is a powdery, warm musk, which is pleasant but not remarkable enough considering the price. It reminds me a lot of Maison Margiela's Beach Walk, but lighter and fresher, and less heavy and creamy. If you enjoy floral, marine, sunscreen type scents, you will be happy with this one. For me it was a miss, mainly because the ylang ylang is much stronger than I had hoped based off the breakdown of accords shown above. So if you, like me, don't like that note, you will be disappointed.

off the sample orange blossom is beautiful leaning feminine in the smell expected more for that price pretty average smell nothing to waste time on. bye Update: it reminds me of YSL Y minus the projection but it has the performance.. first smell you get is the florals salty then musk it leans kinda feminine but overall clean fresh more for a woman in my opinion.. price is still not worth it you can go ysl y which is cheaper more masculine or jo malone wood sage & sea salt *best shit i ever smelled*, yea jo malone don't last as long but little tip *oil perfumery* jo malone wood sage & sea salt last 6-7 hours great projection you can mix it with the original jo malone and boom performance issues fixed..

This to me smells exactly like the note breakdown. A salty, musky and slightly citrusy fragrance. As soon as I smelled this I immediately thought of the beach or hot days at the pool. It just smells like you’re by the water but not in a aquatic/ozonic way. I see why people say it smells like sun screen, but since I don’t wear any it just reminds me of a beach day. As pleasant as this sounds I don’t think I’d ever wear this on myself, even on vacation. It’s one of those smells that I’d prefer if I smell in the area I’m in rather than on myself the whole day as a fragrance. Nice for a scent memory but I would definitely sample first before committing to a full bottle.

Oh wow, this is very different from what I expected. I thought this is going to be musky and citrusy bomb with some salty touch but I'm so wrong. This smells like pissy kind of salt scent. While I despise the opening, the dry down is actually nice and lovely. but is going through a few hours to get that lovely dry down worth it? probably not. While the scent can be quite problem to different people, the performance itself is pretty good. I got 6 hours longetivity on this which is pretty good for citrus fragrance. The sillage itself is just ok in my opinion. For me personally, this fragrance is bit dissapointing but still nice giving it a solid 6/10.

def the odd one out from the 3 freshies, its not a bad fragrance it just feels unfinished like something is missing. the likeness of the urinal smell is there in the beginning(either it disappeared or i got used to it) , i think its the mixture of salt and yellow florals that give it that. Its a nice grapefruit + salt + musk, but its just no blended very well imo. Its more interesting and more fresh than villa neroli, its a less zesty and more salty version of citrus riviera. If u want more citrus get the riviera if u want more freshness and salt get this one, the neroli its just too feminine and has to much vanilla for a freshie.

Ohh this formula could have turned out sooo MUCH BETTER. I almost blind buyer it, thank god I did not. It is not a bad fragrance, don't understand me wrong, but it's not my cup of coffee. You expect an aquatic fragrance, that just smells like you have just come out of the ocean and still have sea salt on your skin. But in my eyes BDK did not really do a great job on this one. I don't like the opening or anything else (except the flanker) on this one. It turned out to be a floral perfume where the sea salt absolutely dominates the whole fragrance. The price is not too bad but I very recommend going for another one.
