Velvet Tonka Extrait

At first, it reminds me strongly of the EDP version. Almond, marzipan bomb. But after a while, you get a hint of pistachio and cinnamon. Also a little orangey from the neroli. It is a very warm and pleasant fragrance. To me, it smells like when you come home after a long cold day and your wife has baked biscuits and your whole house is filled with this scent. I didn't really like the EDP version because it was too sweet. But the extrait is simply wonderful. More of an autumn/winter fragrance and also for colder spring days. Edit: The drydown is one of the best ones I've smelled in a long time. This leather and vanilla scent is simply amazing, and the amber gives it a pleasant warmth. For those who don't like leather: this is not a scratchy leather scent, not like an old couch. Imagine a sexy leather dress and what that does to you.

Was surprised to see this in Selfridges, sprayed on my wrist straight away, love it! I have the og Velvet Tonka, they are definitely similar. Can’t stop sniffing my wrist!

If the feeling of touching velvet was a smell, this would be it. Warm and cosy vanilla and tonka, hint of a light pistachio vibe going on near the opening, and drying down a bit leathery. I found the scent decent, nothing mind-blowing or that unique, and I ended up getting a little sick of it ngl

Velvet Tonka is the perfect tonka fragrance to me. This is the same with that horrible pistachio note, which does not smell like pistachio but like a weird hybrid between a badly done almond and a weird coconut scent. Not as horrible as a lot of pistachio perfume but not good either. Super sweet with a bit of spice to hide it. If Mind Games, Kingside, and Velvet Tonka had a child.

Believe it or not, but it smells like barbershop on me. I wish it was not. Definitely not a blind buy.

I love velvet tonka, but the extrait way too nuclear with projection, and the addition of pistachio and cosmo fruit made this an unappealing fragrance.

This is a odd one it sometimes smells like velvet Tonka the OG with a opening of cinnamon and orange blossom and some fruit and mid of leather and Tonka and dry down of Tonka and pistachios but then sometimes it smells like a soapy barbershop vibe im not sure if that’s the orange blossom pulling like neroli with the cosmo fruit and the leather or what but it reads differently sometimes so I can imagine it reads differently on different skins. Not blind but safe!

Velvet Tonka feels like one of those fragrances that quietly reveals itself over time. Soft, slightly sweet, very comforting — but not as simple as it first appears. It made me realise how important it is to actually live with a scent for a while, rather than deciding in a few minutes in-store. Some fragrances don’t speak immediately — they unfold. And those are often the ones worth paying attention to. Curious how others experienced this one on skin over time?

Delicious toasty pistachio. The scent is deep and more dense than the original, like a completely different fragrance in my opinion. Toasted pistachio and syrupy tonka with a faint boozy/jammy fruit accord. Smells like a fall, date night, sexy type of fragrance whereas the original is a smooth sweet romantic and powdery almond rose. Both last a long time but the Extrait is nuclear.

I honestly want to try this. Intrigued by now the pistachio and leather are going to work together.
