Christmas In Egypt

I received a sample of this with an order from Layered. I was very excited to try this and it was love at first sniff. I immediately thought it smelled like Cassiopea by Tiziana Terenzi, unfortunately I used up my decant of that fragrance so I couldn't try them side by side to make a direct comparison. I really missed that fragrance and loved this one so I bought it on the same day I received my previous order. This is an amazing fragrance that is a sweet gourmand/floral/fresh scent. The be layered website lists the note "Fruity Notes From Cairo". I am not sure which fruits these are, but to my nose I smell passion fruit.

I am so in love with this beautiful, soft, elegant fragrance. It’s really so stunning! I feel a Tonka bean vibe, even though it’s not in there. This is one of my favorite from Belayered! It’s to die for!!!

This is a beautiful scent, pink pepper and caramel vanilla fluffed over sweet papaya. Its cozy and could probably be worn anytime of year but I find I like it with a good dose of sunshine and warmth.

This is definitely not an Oriental Spicy fragrance - I would say it's a Floral Gourmand. I do see the resemblances to Fantasy, as the opening is sweet and fruity. It has a similar sour/sweet/juicy smell to Fantasy, but is perhaps smoother and less garish. I don't know what in the notes could be providing this effect. There is a definite floral character to this perfume even before the tuberose kicks in. It's sweet and nondescript florals. I would say the praline appears first, hyper sweet and a tiny bit nutty. Throughout the beginning of the fragrance I'm not that into it. There's also sometimes a slightly dirty note, like unwashed skin, that is off-putting - it's only there in the first twenty minutes or so, and not every time I spray it. The magic of Christmas in Egypt is all as the fragrance dries down. Tuberose emerges, almost unrecognizable, because she is so sweet and so decadent. But in the end, she is unmistakably tuberose. I enjoy the fragrance quite a bit as it dries down. It just gets sweeter, creamier, and becomes a more delicious tuberose fragrance with every hour. Christmas in Egypt is strong stuff, so I would spray lightly. I'd love to ask my Egyptian friends if this provokes any scent memories for them of actual Christmas in Egypt :)

It smells like delicious spicy cake at first with a floral undertone and a cedar base to me.

Smells like a watered down-but sweeter version of golden nectar by NEST Not bad though
