Ballroom

Ballroom is what I thought it would be...a light, dreamy gathering in an airy southern estate. I imagine something like Gone with the Wind but replace the heavy velvet feel with shimmering tulle. Then replace the opaque burgundy with sheer nude satins. Blooming fragrant trees surround the guests while fireflies shimmer in the darkening pink summer sky. If you like the smell of lucious daffodils this should be on your want list. It has earned it's place on my favorites.

This was a surprising symphony of notes. It began with a light mix of florals and grew into a delightful garden of honeysuckle, daffodils and magnolia. I detected no musk, no powder and barely any rose or violet. I applied it just to one inner elbow and wrist at 6pm. Now, 15 hours later, it’s still wafting like a springtime cotillion, like mood setting music. This gem makes me want to dance the day away. Thank you BeSoliflore for a well played scent!

Fresh flowers. A light fresh scent that smells great for summer. Would also wear year round.

I felt this was a bit reminiscent of OH! de Moschino, after all, it DID make me think of it, momentarily. I don't really smell most of the notes in this perfume...which it isn't unusual for me not to. I'm not good at detecting individual notes. I can only smell two notes for sure. A Narciso Rodriguez for Her note, and a SJP Lovely note! I'm not going to even try all three at once and hunt for minor differences, there's just no use for me to. I can grab any one of the three and be content. It might not be such a compliment for Narciso Rodriguez since it's so expensive, but it's hats off for Lovely and Ballroom! Oh that's right, all the names I've been mentioning and I'm just getting to Ballroom! Ballroom to me is musk, HUGE musk, quite strong! I let everyone at work smell and all agreed (not with me) "it's , it's, hmmm...very light". No one mentioned a floral. So under "blind test" conditions, this is "light" with a good interest! Ballroom lasts all day which makes it great for work. It's unisex, but not unisex enough for a man it seems, and I don't know why. This is one perfume that's well worth the purchase price! I can only say that you might wanna like musk! I never caught that violet nuance that had me intrigued. I never got the flowers I expected and STILL, I'm quite tickled with this perfume. Thank you!

Another lucky winner here! My experience is somewhat different than the other reviewers as I get almost exclusively rose and musk. I do sense a bit of freesia as well, but for me it's all about a fresh, tart rose that is blended with a musk that is vaguely reminiscent of the Narciso Rodriguez musk. This perfume has a clean, airiness to it that stays tart rather than sweet. It reminds me of another perfume that I haven't quite placed...yet.... I was hoping for more of a white floral bouquet, so it's only a like, not a love, so far. Admittedly my initial wearings of this have been in relatively cold weather, so I'm interested to see if I pick up more florals once the weather warms.

Sometimes letting them settle some after shipping makes a difference. My first thoughts: It's in the same vein as SJP Lovely/ Narciso Rodriguez for her. .......... So I will be back with an update. Update: After trying this a few times, I still agree with my first thoughts. I smell lavender, although lavender is not listed. I don't smell magnolia which I was hoping for. linear aromatic from the clean musk and freesia If you like SJP Lovely or Narciso Rodriguez for Her, it's a safe blind buy.

I've now tried the bottle that I won earlier again, now in warmer weather to see if I'm finding it any different. I've tried it on fabric, and also directly on skin. While the florals are there, I think to me the musk is overbalancing them. So I'm finding this only OK. I wouldn't mind if people around me were wearing this, but I don't like it enough to wear it regularly myself. Perhaps layering this with a second fragrance that's only floral with no musk might be better. If I have any success with that, I'll leave another comment.

Another winner here from the giveaway. I've worn this several times now, in winter, and on me I'm not really getting honeysuckle, or rose. As I was getting to the point after a few hours where I thought I might be picking up some of the core of rose, that the orginal article mentioned, I found it had mostly worn off. It's a complex floral, and nice enough, but not one I love so far. I'll need to try it again in warmer weather, to see if it comes across differently

Well this was a happy surprise. Like OP before me, I also chose and won Ballroom. I am notoriously difficult to please, I dislike at least 90% of the fragrances that I research and test, so the real surprise is that I like Ballroom. Floral but not annoyingly so. The musk behaves itself. There is a good balance between sweet and dry. I don’t think Ballroom would offend anyone in an office environment. I think it might be nice layered over Lutens’ Le Fille de Berlin. (Sp?)

I also won Ballroom in a give away. Thank you, BeSoliflore and Fragrantica! 1. Nice very simple and elegant bottle. I think it suits the brand name very well. 2. It is very gentle romantic floral scent. Everyday horse. Staying power is weak, suitable for office. 3. Spring/summer time fragrance. It is very light. Reminded me about VERY diluted original Agent Provocateur (rose and musk). Or dry down of Pleasures Estee Lauder (flowers). It is not original or groundbreaking but it is lovely. Will make a good first fragrance for a young romantic girl.

I also won this and love it. The daffodil is very prevalent. Smells like a spring flower show, what a lady in a Chanel suit woukd wear for Easter. I see the similarities to the scents mentioned but I fewl its much more subtle. Agent Provocateur is more rosy and Narcisco is much more in your face. Found the staying power to be good with low to medium sillage which makes it appropriate for social and work environments.

Another winner here thanks to Be Soliflore and Fragrantica. I can't add much to what's already been said about this fragrance, the other reviewers have nailed it. I was surprised by the strong musk note, which dominates the scent along with spicy daffodil. The honeysuckle note is elusive, I'd hoped for a blast of that sweet perfume. To sum it up: B. is a classy modern floral. Good presentation, too.

I just got an email from BeSoliflore stating that they just got Leaping Bunny approval! Such a great news! They are cruelty-free! Great job! I wish more perfume brands follow. I feel so guilty about buying non-cruelty free perfumes =( All other products, cosmetic and cleaning products in my house are cruelty free already.
