Acrasia

The Wall by Pink Floyd is an absolute masterpiece but if you ask non-fans to mention one track from the album they would probably only mention Another Brick in the wall! Those who are not too familiar with Beaufort London or have tried some of their fragrances in the past and found them too challenging to wear will be pleasantly surprised with this more crowd pleasing and appealing offering, yet at the same time loyal Beaufort fans have much to rejoice here too because it still maintains that gothic feel to it. Acrasia is like that one popular song from an obscure album and I can tell you that it's a magnificent one! Acrasia is a more approachable fragrance from Beaufort London as it's a soothing and very relaxing fragrance to wear. The fragrance opens with a unique note of red wine with an added lemon twist to it. The rose note at first seems subtle and works more in the background. Now here is where things start to take an interesting turn. Julie Dunkley, the same perfumer of Iron Duke and Rake & Ruin brings back the leather saddle soap from Iron Duke in this, but in very small doses so as not to overpower Acrasia. But there's more...if you have ever smelt the fantastic Fantomas by Nasomatto that fragrance has a note that resembles chalk that was used on blackboards in schools. It's a dusty airy note but Julie Dunkley has added something more to this note turning it into a creamy addictive note of vanilla and cinnamon. It's very hard to explain this but if you have experienced Fantomas you will understand what I am trying to say here. Maybe I know this house a little too well so my mind starts to remind me of other fragrances by this house. The fragrance continues to evolve more and the notes of incense and slight smoke give me that Lignum Vitae vibe of delicious cooked cookies. The red wine and rose seem to make a stronger comeback now with more spices appearing in the notes making it smell more of a fruity wine and a dusted floral rose it's utterly devilishly delicious. The gothic feel to it can be felt more now, yet it still manages to wrap around you a warm embrace that feels enchanting, mysterious and almost hypnotic. Acrasia isn't loud as the other Beaufort Fragrances but it lasts on skin till the next day. I think it will be a much more powerful performer in the warmer weather and will be even more unique to wear in Summer. I use Iron Duke on Summer nights and I can just imagine how better Acrasia will actually smell since the leather saddle soap note is fainter. I previously mentioned the smell of vanilla and cinnamon in it. The fragrance isn't a gourmand and it isn't a specifically rose centred scent either. The fragrance is very complex and one will get different facets of notes according to their skin chemistry. Just when you think the fragrance has toned down, entering a room with a warm temperature on, it ignites back on and you start to smell it again. I woke up the next day smelling my arm to an addictive note that is almost edible. I really love that Beaufort diverted a tiny bit from the strong smoke and yet still kept that mysterious ambience in the fragrance. I currently own two other full bottles from this house which are Iron Duke and Fathom V. I would place Acrasia between them as a favourite choice. I have all the samples by this house and I have other favourites too including Lignum Vitae, Vi Et Armis and Coeur De Noir which will hopefully one day be added to my collection too.Unless you really know this house well I would consider Acrasia to be a safe blind buy, but as always sampling first is always the better and safer choice. I think Acrasia will be a huge hit with new converts to the house of Beaufort London and it will definitely pique their interest to discover their more obscure releases. Acrasia is a breathe of fresh air from the strong smoke and gunpowder yet it still maintains the beautiful gothic mystery that only Beaufort London know how to create. 10/10.

This is my fifth BeauFort fragrance, a brand I happen to admire quite a bit, so I blind bought this on announcement. The first (and subsequent) time I’ve sprayed this on I have found I really do not like the opening. To me it smells like tuberose (not listed in the notes) but perhaps it’s the geranium? 30 minutes after application it settles into something I very much enjoy. The heart and dry down on this are top notch and very approachable for a BeauFort offering. Amber, slight rose, incense, vanilla, and patchouli with sandalwood being the long game dry down (on my skin) 12+ hours later, something that settles into a darker kind of powder scent. I typically like this house for being very, “Fuck you I’m wearing this for me.” But upon going out wearing this for the first time to my local bar two of my friends who are not into this hobby immediately remarked about how good the fragrance smelled before I even could say hello. This is a warm, cool weather crowd pleaser which is very atypical of this house, but something that is very welcomed. BeauFort has a few surprises up its sleeve, and if you’ve been turned off by the brashness before, give this a try.

What a beautiful journey this is. It opens up with a blast of fresh lemon in the middle of a smoky place. What surprised me the most is the lack of birch tar on the notes listed, since it clearly contains the distinctive Beaufort accord on the opening and the dry-down which resemblance some parts of Coeur De Noir. The citric part on last for a few minutes until you are transported to earthy patchouli that keeps the fragrance grounded; supported by a rich and exquisite amber that envelopes the body of the composition into something more decadent and sinister. The rose is not very prominent on this one, but the dry-down of the note itself along with the evolution of the incense that goes with it makes it very dark while being voluptuous. A smoky, dark, decadent rose in the endless sea of oud-rose combo that plagues modern niche perfumery, and another masterpiece from my favorite house. Chapeau Beaufort.

I went and got the Revenants Discovery set because I was curious about this Perfume brand. Even though this was one of the scents I was very excited to smell I got quite nervous when I first smelled it. But once it dried down it is BEAUTIFUL. Of course I still have to try it on skin rn but this with Absent Presence might be the most every day worthy scents from this set. Like maybe not an office scent but I would definitely wear it a lot. It is flowery, a bit spicy and clean but also a bit smoky. I can see a badass woman or a beautiful vampir man wear this. It is kinda giving Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters from Resident Evil Village in a way. This might me my favorit scent from this discovery set. I am just a sucker for a flowery scent that you could also find on an old woman xD The perfume is definitely heavy leaning so I would not wear this in summer.

I got sent this incorrectly and fair warning I hate rose! Nooooo! I do love me a good Beaufort, so I couldn't resist trying it. This opens quite masculine, but changes to a much less sharp herbal melody. I think it is the geranium that is making this work for me. I didn't get any wine, although that could have been part of the opening that I could pass on. The opening is bracingly pleasant but nothing special. It is the middle of this that is a superstar. I am loving it more by the minute and I think a lot of people would not get this far before nixing it. I came for the smoke and I got something that has no smoke at all, but does remind me of incense a bit. Dry but not powdery, while the notes are pointed out here, this is smoothly blended and weave so much I can hardly pick them out.

The start of Acrasia is pretty masculine to my nose, heading in the direction of a traditional cologne, with a hint of smoke amid the lemon and bergamot. I don't really like it much. However as it mutates it becomes lovely in the mid and truly fabulous in the tail. As it settles, it becomes an enveloping dark rose. A bit like a very watered down Tonerre crossed with a heavier Toy Boy without the excessive smokiness of the first and more or less spared the sweetness of both. At first it didn't smell very 'Beauforty' but in the end it sits in that pirate rock star slot, with a heap of romanticism poured on top. Projection isn't huge but it lasts and lasts. I sprayed this for a meeting at 10AM and it was still distinctly noticeable on my wrist at 2AM the next morning. LOVE it.

An ancient vampire sitting in his lonely castle. He sits alone at a large banquet table. There’s a bouquet of long-dead roses nearby. He sips on ancient wine, pondering hazy memories of a time when he was surrounded by something other than silence and dust. Acrasia is evocative, dark, and undeniably BeauFort. It is solidly unisex, moreso than other BeauForts I’ve purchased. It’s exquisitely gothy and moody, and wonderfully unique. I think I’m madly in love. The most prominent notes to my nose are aged red wine, the lingering scent of incense, dirty patchouli, and dry roses. The effect is fascinating and unusual. It may take some time to figure out what you’re smelling as it will certainly hit each nose very differently.

Opening: Wine and roses. Really unique and beautiful. Beyond that it turns into incense and musky soap on my skin. It smells similar to the leather saddle soap note that is used in Iron Duke (which I love) but with more detail and less distractions. The soap is thick, fatty, waxy, ambery and musky; mixed with an oily leather conditioner. It's not squeaky clean by any means, it's mixed with some incense ash and slightly dirty musks. Call me crazy, but in a way, this kinda makes me think of a indie niche version of Prada Amber Pour Homme, but much better in smell, complexity, and performance. Incredibly good -I bought a full bottle immediately. Stunning! Scent 9.5/10 Performance 8/10

Acrasia is an enchanting fragrance...A very unique take on incense supported by warm spices and florals. Picture walking into a vampire tomb or abandoned church where bats have feasted on fruit that is now rotting. Its depthness exceeded my expectations for a conventional rose with a dark twist. Opens metallic but the descent is quite smoky and balsamic, definitely not for most. Beautifully gothic but not in a modern way - this one smells ancient. Think Nosferatu or Baron Afanas, instead of Lestat. It was my blind introduction to Beaufort and dare I say I am addicted, despite hating it initially. The drydown might be even better - very masculine, reminds me of arabic fragrances.

This is a whirlwind tornado of red wine, rose and a touch of fresh greens layered in between those red layers and a woodsy amber layer at the base. SUCH A MASTERPIECE I don't get the Tauer ADDM resemblance (there is a similar spirit tho) but this is the perfect mystical ambery fragrance with sharp touches of freshness coming through from time to time making this such an interesting experience. To my nose this is 3/4 a warm frag and 1/4 a fresh frag, making this the perfect mix for autumn. Definitely my signature Autumn scent, been wearing this since it came out in 2022. Big fan of this house.

I am not going to add it to the "reminds me of" section, because I don't want to get laughed out of town, but ever since the first time I sampled this it feels weirdly connected in my to mind JPG Kokorico. Side by side they are note even close, but there is something about the feel- the dusty chocolatey vibe, earthy patchouli, and sweet creamy base that always reminds me of it. Almost like this could be a slightly sweeter rosy sibling of it. Anybody else sense that connection? Maybe it's just me- but anyway- if you love Kokorico maybe check it out. I love them both in a similar way.

Underrated scent. One of the more wearable BeauFort (that I've encountered) that regularly gets compliments, instead of odd stares. This house is as daring as it gets, and is still independent, which I appreciate. A haunting, supernatural incense, rose, musk. It's visceral. I'm pretty sure they built this from the saddle soap note in Iron Duke. I'll always have this in my collection, and love wearing out on cold evenings. Wearing it always feels like an occasion, and sort of Halloween esque 🌙 ×××××××××××××××××××××× Scent 98/100 Performance 90/100 ××××××××××××××××××××××

Mulled sangria laced with cinnamon lemon and bergamot ready for a Christmas party. Vases filled with red roses and geraniums in every room of the house. Many of the guests at this party are wearing amber, patchouli and heavy musk fragrances. All of these aromas fill the air at this festive holiday gathering. Very interesting. Love the bottle. Unisex. Could be polarizing. It is a very strong fragrance. Would take a bold personality to pull it off. It's an own the room type of perfume. My husband stole thing from me LOL. That's fine. I will enjoy smelling it on him.

There's a lot at play here, but it doesn't become overwhelming. It opens sweet and smoky, and then the dry down brings out some florals and warm earthiness. Entirely unisex. Super unique. Definitely a killer fall fragrance. I did discover that if sprayed too close, the opening came across very bubblegum-y like some others said, but I found it balances out very nicely if sprayed from further away.

Spicy, dusty, slightly powdery. What a great interpretation of rose... This is what I’d imagine Bergywerth to smell like. Master Willem drinking vintage wine in his study. Indeed, this smells like a sorceress. It's mystical, warm, musty and dark. The opening smells like a sweet wine, with a hint of vanilla shining through. This slowly settles into an intoxicating warm, balsamic and ambery scent. Acrasia is an experience that I can't get enough of.

smells like candied lemon at first, and mellows out to a chocolatey-floral and incense smoke smell. It reminds me of being in love with a hippy/free spirit woman that you will never truly attain

#1679 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Beaufort London scents are tough to find here in the States. A couple of years ago the entire line was available from American and Canadian vendors. I absolutely loved a decant of Beaufort London “Fathom V”, ordered a bottle from FragranceBuy and it arrived broken and empty. The last bottle they had as they had stopped stocking Beaufort as did Jomashop and PerfumeOnline.ca. I won't pay the $177 + $35 S&H price for 50ml on the Beaufort site. This a good scent, but $200 for 50ml good? I’ll have to think about it. This scent is safe for any environment. I think a fine scent for the corporate office or date wear. Wine and wood. Nice smoky dry down with the incense, especially as the citrus fades out. Cinnamon is there but isn’t dominant, which is how I prefer it. Top end of moderate performance, so it’s a “like” not a “love” for me. I think Les Liquides Imaginaires “Bloody Wood” is a similar scent at a better price of $100 for 100ml. And if you want a wine scent and don’t mind EDT performance O Boticario “Malbec Noir”, Malbec Noir Intense”, “Malbec Ultra Bleu” might be of interest and run about $60. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

I think my nose is broken (or maybe I goth-ed too hard and now I'm too far gone down the goth rabbit hole), because this does *not* smell dark to me. Yes there is a lot of smoke in this, but it's a greener smoke than I was expecting. A clean kind of incense. So clean, in fact, that at first it smells a whole lot like floor detergent! I thought I was going to hate this fragrance because of it and for a full 15 minutes I did, but thankfully that note goes away soon and it totally shifts into its true nature. A nice smoke that is very woody, quite pleasant to be honest, and a nice step away from my darker, heavier scents. It reminds me of the sandalwood blocks mom would put in our drawers to keep the moths away from our wool shirts; it doesn not, however, make me think of a witch or a brooding dark creature as it settles. I find this to be very wearable for everyday use for me personally (just remember to spray and let the initial 15 minutes of nasty detergent pass). And the complete 180 it does has made me intrigued about Beaufort London as a whole.

Beaufort Acrasia takes a departure from the fiery ships, chaotic battlefields and other smoked, boozed up dens of corruption of its predecessors, immersing us this time in a different, more gothic narrative. In a gothic castle, the stage is hauntingly adorned. Vampires, their lips stained with red wine, share this eerie tableau with their victims amidst a sea of blood-red roses. Furniture crafted from exotic, fragrant wood graces the chamber, while enigmatic iron artworks, their purpose uncertain, stand as silent sentinels in the shadowy corners of the room. While Acrasia offers an intriguing olfactory journey into this dark realm, it does so with a sense of restraint compared to Beaufort's bolder creations. It's a departure from the intense, smoky, and boozy aromas we've come to associate with the brand. Instead, it delves into a more enigmatic, gothic tale, adding diversity to the Beaufort collection. Though not as overpowering as its counterparts, Acrasia still manages to captivate with its unique narrative and mysterious aura.

Upon spraying, this has an intense red wine note that overpowers everything else, but once that calms down after a minute or two, the heart of rose and incense is revealed. It's got a balsamic, somewhat medicinal quality, floating over a resinous amber and woody base. And I see I'm not the only one thinking Tauer thoughts because this reminds me of a combo of l'air du desert marocain and incense rose. It's got the "band-aid" quality of the former and the incense/rose combo (obviously) of the latter. It's an abandoned stone church with long-dried roses on the altar that were cut from the overgrown brambles climbing the outside of the building. I was slightly repulsed by this the first time I sniffed it (the wine opening is A Lot) but I was getting ready to send my sample to a friend and decided to give it one more sniff for posterity, and I might actually like it? Also massive bonus points for the gorgeous bottle.

This is really something special and oh god is it strong. I can't lie, when I first sprayed this I was super unsure of whether it was for me, which I was so nervous of as this was a blind buy! The wine and citrus hit strong on the first spray in a sour sort of way, but after a little while all the other scents come through. This is a cold sort of incense with a woodiness underneath. The rose becomes a fairly dominant note along with the geranium and jasmine hidden in the bouquet which differentiates it from an ordinary rose. The longer it's on my skin and the more I smell it, the more I like it, but that sharp note from the cinnamon and something else (maybe from the patchouli? I don't know but I can feel it in my nose) really lasts. I can definitely see myself wearing this for occasions but not sure I can pass it as an everyday scent at this point.

It opens with a bright, almost stereotypical masculine bergamot. Thankfully, this stage lasts only a few minutes before fading and giving way to a warm, tart, wine-like accord. In the heart, the floral blend, still carrying a trace of bergamot freshness, comes across as slightly medicinal. As it moves toward the drydown, the geranium nearly disappears, and the scent starts to echo carnation-like florals. The smoke is soft and balsamic, unfolding smoothly and never slipping into a soapy direction. On my skin, after around ten hours, it settles into a velvety impression of clean, warm skin. If I could isolate just this final, warm phase, it would easily become my number-one everyday fragrance. Despite its very masculine opening, that impression gradually fades. Overall, it’s a genuinely intriguing gothic unisex scent.

For me, it's a fragrance characterised by dry patchouli, vetiver and musk. No wine. It begins with a serene, fresh bergamot. Then comes a geranium with a touch of incense. More than an ordinary rose, this flower is more distinctive because it is sharper and more fougère. There's also a woody note in the background. As time progresses, the patchouli and vetiver become more prominent. Towards the end, it turns into a soft and slightly mellow and animalic musk. Gothic doll vibe. Got this in the Revenant sample pack. This is the most playful, least 'serious' and youngest smelling Revenant. In the sense that it does not give the vibe that person wearing it could kill you; it's actually slightly inviting. The Geranium is strong and a bit overpowering initially but not a very long time. The rose is blended in discreetly. There still is some faint leathery accord which makes this a bit elegant but not too elegant. Definitely a unisex night scent. Suitable for parties, clubs, metal concerts.

There is *almost* too much lemon in the very opening. But soon the rose and wine come forward and it becomes absolutely enchanting. Later on, the incense appears, gently spiced by the cinnamon. This is is far from linear, it evolves in so many ways that I would never have suspected at first sniff. A beautiful olfactory journey! I would rate it as fully unisex, but again, not in a linear way. It starts out leaning a little feminine but the more it dries down, the more masculine it leans. Excellent longevity.

red wine spilled all over freshly ironed black shirt, one that has been washed with "for black clothes" detergent specifically - and that's probably the rose/geranium/patchouli (especially geranium) combo that i'm getting here. it's harsh in the opening (consider it the splash of wine moment), but once it settles, it melts into your skin and into your consciousness. it envelops you, dances around you, creates the aura of elegance and confidence. it's a perfect perfume for a modern-day office siren vampire.

Great fragrance. Grind up a "past it's prime" rose bush. Squeeze out the juice, add some incense, much, some other supporting floral and you have this gothic dark wonderful fragrance. The wine note doesn't last long and this fragrance is all about the dry down. Dark, slightly floral, woodiness with some incense. Brooding, dark, yet approachable and wearable. No one will be offended by this one. Sits close to the skin. Enjoy.

The first spray smelled like I'd spilled a bottle of wine directly on my skin, and then it dried down to pure rose and incense. On me, it is VERY floral, the wine disappears completely. There's a sort of "warmth" to it where I can slightly pick up the cinnamon and patchouli, and even a bit of the bergamot, but that's about it.

The rose and red wine are the forward notes on this, I don't pick up too much on anything else. As an incense lover, I don't pick up on that note at all. Unfortunately, rose always goes a bit funny on my skin, so this is a pass from me. Smells lovely on paper though!

Finishing off BeauFort in a not-so-high note. Part of me feared Acrasia could have been a similar case to Sirenide, which I found intolerably synthetic and syrupy sweet, but this wasn't the case thankfully, although I didn't end up liking Acrasia much either. The scent opens with an odd mix of rose, cinnamon and a sangría-like accord that makes the scent smell like a rosey bubblegum. There's a bit of a patchouli earthiness up close on skin but it ends up clashing with the bubblegum "accord". I find the cinnamon a bit too prominent as well, and it gives me the same cheap vibe I got from Creed's Centaurus. I see what they were trying to go for here but it just doesn't work, at least to my nose. Not BeauFort's worst but it's also far from their best. Projection is not that great but it's at least better than Absent Presence and Terror & Magnificence. Projection and sillage are moderate and this ends up drying down to a skin scent rather quickly but to be fair I didn't spray much of this on. Longevity is alright, it reaches 6 hours on skin but already really faint.

Very unique perfume, which got me interested in this house. First smell was repulsive: very strong and metallic. A bit powdery. Then I noticed rose. It was there from the beginning, but blended with metal very interestingly. Then i started to like this more and more. For me it's more metal and blood than rose and wine, but this combination creates this romantic and violent medieval knight feel. Drydown gets even better - it becomes not so harsh and more wearable - but still not very suitable for any occasion. Which is my main complaint - it's completely not for me. Fun fact: i got recommended it by the consultant when i asked for "floral, green, but not to sweet". Lol. Well, it has rose, so I guess...

This smells like what I imagine clean clothes might have smelled like before detergent existed. Like a wealthy person with really good hygiene, but the hygiene standard for whatever time period they're from is pretty lax. I'm getting mostly a sort of rough scrubbed fabric note, plus a touch of spilled wine, and a geranium/rose floral accord. It's very pleasant, and it does smell like Beaufort (all their scents seem to have that certain je ne sais quoi humming in the background), but in my opinion, this isn't among their most compelling offerings. Worth sampling if you're interested in seeing how versatile the house can be, though.

Bit of a different turn for this house, there is no smoke here this is like a citrus spice floral mix with an unusual sickly fruity smell at the top which I guess is supposed to be the wine note, but it's like you had way too many and "expelled" some on yourself :) I see the review below gets that vibe too but I don't find it as obviously repulsive, the sickly note isn't mega prominent for me but I definately get a whiff of it. My least favorite from the house. It's not bad but it's not something I will particularly crave to wear for either pleasure or pure interest. It's just ok.

It is 90% similar to Etna, from the Italian house of Narcisse Taormina. The 10% is because Acrasia is a little more intense. If you put them hand in hand, it would be difficult to know which is which. But Etna has a better projection and long duration. All this in my experience, without offending anyone. Greetings!

I had high hopes for this perfume, but on my skin it was the scent of spilled sour wine, which immediately made me feel literally sick. Nevertheless, the vibe of this scent is amazing. I'll give it another chance next time

What a big let down. I like beaufort a lot, but this one is just cheaply made, a very lazy creation, mostly woody ambers to give this dusty, woody, peppery and cheap wine impression, to my nose a big dose of norlimbanol. Everything else is just faintly there, like a ghost, the rose is barely there and very poorly made, like the other notes. Anyone with some experience with popular molecules by themselves can easily see (or smell in this case) how cheaply, even lazy this creation is

Very realistic red wine note, with a strong citrus and rose. The wine is pleasant, but mixed with such high intensity and rose.. I’m afraid it’s a LOT for my nose, the smell is really strong and intense, so much so it made me nauseous right after first spraying it. I can’t say whether the drydown is better, because I can’t withstand this for longer than 10 minutes before scrubbing it off. It’s rare for me to dislike something so strongly, but I guess there’s a first for everything

For me this feels like a more metallic (almost bloody) version of Alexandria II although the top notes are super different. It’s a beautiful perfume but definitely a bit more of a difficult fragrance. I had a hard time wearing it as the day progressed as the metallic notes can feel very harsh. For the concept it definitely hits the mark and is definitely worth smelling if you get the opportunity.

I really wanted to like this one, but the beginning wine note is just too strong for me, and I had to wash it off. However, I might come back to this because I am still very new to the strangeness of niche. Also you will smell like wine that has just been open for the first time in a billion years. 4/10 (at the moment)

Super boozy, metallic opening—truly overwhelming and nauseating. On my skin, the incense and rose struggle to come through, drowned under liters of red wine. A shame, really, because the concept was such a good one!

It's a scrubber. Where's my metal brillo pad for the grill? It is a SILKWOOD SHOWER SCRUBBER! The moment I sprayed it a short time ago, I swear I could hear a foghorn in the distance. That briny, mossy, storm-swept note hit me like a rogue wave. My stomach immediately began to sway in sympathetic rhythm, as if my living room had transformed into the deck of a schooner somewhere off the coast of Cornwall. I was no longer standing on my landlocked carpet; I was gripping the railing, wind whipping my face, wondering why I didn’t take Dramamine before getting dressed. And yet because BeauFort loves a bit of maritime brutality there’s beauty in its menace. It’s gorgeously crafted, atmospheric, and utterly uncompromising. But on my skin, it doesn’t whisper “romantic tempest.” It growls “brace for turbulent tummy impact.” 🤢🤮🌊 Postscript: I had to use several tablespoons of Dr. Teal's himalayan salt scrub. I have a collection of >400 fragerances and this may be the absolute worse in recent memory. My physical reaction was visceral and quite real. My stomach remains queasy. This 5 ml sample is getting quadro zip locked bagged and set next to IA's Bull Blood. THIS would be an excellent perfume to wear while watching Season 1 of the American supernatural horror drama anthology television series The Terror on AMC.

EN. Acrasia opens with a bright and seemingly promising start, but overall, it fails to stand out in any significant way. While the presence of geranium adds some dynamism to the composition, the rest of the olfactory structure feels rather predictable and lacks real emotional impact. The fragrance develops in a linear and unsurprising manner, missing the depth or nuances that could make it more compelling. After about two hours, it settles into a warm woody base that, while pleasant, feels absolutely banal and lacks the distinctive character inherent to the BeauFort London line (namely, those haughty and provocative nuances that have made their perfumes famous). Overall, Acrasia might work for those looking for an easy, unobtrusive fragrance, but for those who seek something more complex, memorable, or bold, it may turn out to be a disappointing choice. IT. Acrasia è una fragranza che si presenta con un’apertura luminosa e apparentemente promettente, ma che nel complesso non riesce a distinguersi in modo significativo. Se da un lato la presenza del geranio dona un certo dinamismo alla composizione, il resto della struttura olfattiva appare piuttosto prevedibile e priva di un reale impatto emozionale. Lo sviluppo della fragranza segue un’evoluzione lineare e poco sorprendente, mancando di profondità o sfumature che potrebbero renderla più interessante. Circa due ore dopo, si assesta su una base legnosa calda che, pur gradevole, risulta assolutamente banale e priva di quel carattere distintivo tipico della linea BeauFort London (ovvero quelle sfumature altezzose e provocatorie per cui i loro profumi sono diventati celebri) Nel complesso, Acrasia è una fragranza che potrebbe funzionare per chi cerca un profumo facile e senza eccessi, ma per chi desidera qualcosa di più sfaccettato, memorabile o audace, potrebbe rivelarsi una scelta deludente.

Looking at the notes I was almost 100% sure I was going to at least like Acrasia, so added a sample to my basket while ordering a sample of Lignum Vitae. Oh how wrong I was! Now, I don’t really like leaving negative reviews, bearing in mind we all have different tastes and preferences, but after reading few glowing reviews on here I thought I add mine, a negative one. So bear with me, while I try to describe what I smell. To me it opens like a men’s shaving cream mixed with some cheap aftershave splash. Ok, it’s more on a masculine side, so I thought, fair enough, not for me. But it’s the dry down that I find almost repulsive. Because to me, it literally smells like a man with massive hungover after a night out. A man, who went out, drunk a lot of booze, mostly vodka and red wine, came back home too wasted to do anything apart from falling asleep on the sofa. So it’s the next day, he is still sleeping, his pores oozing the booze from the night before, his breath laboured and stinky. There are some beer stains on his clothes and now they also stink. And, finally, on top of that, there is still some of this cheap aftershave evaporating from his skin. Yuck. Acrasia took me back to my late teenage years at uni, when my male friends dorm room would stink exactly like that after they went out the night before. So for me it’s a total no no. And I also wouldn’t like to ever smell it on anybody.

Acrasia, in Spencer's unfinished poem, “The faerie Queen”, is the enchantress, seducer of knights, comparable in parts to the sorceress Circe of the Odyssey. This creation wants to reflect the soul of this fatal witch: we have an alcoholic, almost intoxicating opening, from which a rose emerges which, in my little experience, comes out of the classic mold. It's attractive but pungent at the same time, something really unusual that I initially couldn't appreciate. Trying it again, I have to say that it is unique and pleasant, really special, and I would gladly wear it. It is the Acrasia painted by Strudwick, beautiful, seductive, surrounded by Rose but with a nature around her that is at times restless and dark.

Dust powdered rose... Let's say the only fragrance that i see elegantly gothic in this collection! this is the scent of count dracula on his throne waiting for Richter in game "Symphony Of The night" the first Act (aka the beginning of the game). It has that dusty light red rose drenched in red wine with a touch of citric patchouli, powdered sweet sandal consists of vanilla (no cinnamon), amber, geranium, touch of incense, and big chunks of bergamot. It is indeed gothic but in a very elegant, sensual, and exotic way. Beautiful indeed.

Previously, there was a horseshit woody fragrance called Shaik No 70, which smells the same, but this one is more Arabic and a strong note of frankincense has been added to it. قبلنا یه عطر چوبی چرت و پرت به اسم شیخ 70 بود که این عطر من رو یاد اون میندازه، منتها این رایحش عربی تره و یه نت قوی از بخور کندر داره که اون نداشت
