Bebe Nouveau

Ok, I read the reviews and picked a 1 oz. up at TJ Maxx for $9.99 plus tax. This was a blind buy for me but I was curious because the box looked pretty cool and kinda ritzy. I sprayed it once then returned it because I didn't love it. Then a day later went back and picked it up for keeps. First, I don't get a masculine vibe off it at all. It's very bright, kinda sharp/sweet floral notes (I'm new at this) definitely a pretty strong floral to my nose. I find it to be a very uplifting perfume and would put it in the same category as yellow diamond or Marc Jacobs daisy. I have worn this for several days and even got a compliment from a female coworker who said "I love that and I'm really picky, I don't like a lot of fragrances." She actually asked the name if it and asked where I got it. The bottle is beautiful with an Art Deco vibe and perfect size to tuck in my purse. Definitely looks and smells way more expensive than the $9 I paid for it. Sillage is prob 3-4ft (I spray a lot on). Longevity is great. Wore it to a wedding last night and it was going strong after 4-5 hrs. Finally, I do not think this one smells like Viva. I think this one smells floral and modern, I don't think it's linear - but it's definitely unique. I don't think it smells "sexy" per se, but it does smell beautiful, bright and feminine . For $9.99, it's a great deal and smells far more expensive.

Wow wow wow. I am so surprised that not many people talk about this. IT IS INCREDIBLE. I am not the biggest fan of floral and am very picky with them. I blind bought this and was super nervous but this is one of my hands down favorite fragrances. Every note is blended so beautifully and could easily be a signature scent and would work all year round. Such an incredible fragrance for such a low price AND it lasts. Absolutely in love with it

I agree with KennedyH below, this is a beautiful fragrance!! Starts out warm and spicy with the citrus, then you get the sweet florals in the middle and the dry down a few hours later is absolutely gorgeous, warm, woody vanilla with a hint of the amber. A versatile fragrance that can be worn in any weather or occasion perfectly. Nice longevity and sillage. Easily signature fragrance worthy. Stunning art deco bottle. A win here!

Love this one, bright and zesty yellow citrus (more peel & skin than fruit) with soft hints of fragipani all on a woody vanilla base. Sweet and cheerful, really works for warmer weather. Surprisingly strong sillage, more than arms length. Lasts around 5-6 hrs.

Picked up this cheapie yesterday out of curiosity. Well blow me over! I'm pleasantly surprised. Starts off citrusy and dries to a warm vanilla amber. Nice for nights out on the town or a date night. Glad to have this in my arsenal.

This pretty bargain reads unisex to me. My husband loves citrus fragrances; I'll ask him what he thinks of this. I'm not detecting the ebony wood and am surprised that the note got so many votes; Nouveau is bright citrus with a little bit of florals and musk on my skin. Alas, it disappears in about an hour on me. I'll let the spouse try it and see if it lasts longer on his skin. EDIT: There was something really familiar about this fragrance to me. After wearing it for several days, I realized that on my skin, at least, Nouveau smells just like J'Adore by Dior. I think it would make a great dupe for those who don't want to shell out the bucks for J'Adore.

The more and more I continue to collect fragrances it becomes apparent that being a fragrance snob doesn't pay. I have found some amazing quality "cheapies" that do not disappoint. Bebe Nouveau is a beautiful fresh scent that would go green if not for the perfectly placed vanilla that brings in that hint of sweetness at the right moment. I do get the grapefruit/citrus but it's fleeting and heads to woody and aromatic. To be honest most people won't be able to say what you smell like, but you that you smell gooooood.

This is one of my bougie cheapies! I love that it smells fabulous is long lasting and is affordable! I’m a fan of a citrus scent and the amber addition grounds this beautifully. I have layered this with Jeane from lanvin and it’s stunning! It’s not sharp! Some citrus can have a bite at first, this doesn’t. I like it quite a bit!

A well blended sweet floral with zingy citrus and musk. The musk balances the sweet and citrus. This is sweet and refreshing. It starts with a zingy blast and settles into something more musky and closer to the skin. It is very feminine and a great everyday fragrance. Perfectly office safe

I quite like this. It’s almost making me think a more female and much lighter Dior Fahrenheit. Someone else also mentioned Marc Jacob’s Daisy, and I agree that it sort of falls in that same category, although I find this much less girlie and more interesting.

This is similar to Viva La Juicy to my nose, the longevity is very weak. So I like VLJ better.

I find the scent of this one addicting. A mellow citrus on top of a woody vanilla base. Cozy. It doesn't last long on me and it becomes a skin scent about an hour after application but I don't mind that for the price. I don't need all of my perfumes to last all day!

To me this is more masculine leaning (like the spiked hair flipped up collar 2003 guy masculine...). It opens like a citrusy sweet aftershave and dries down nice, but it's definitely a sweet early 2000's club fragrance.

Masculine musky citrus. Starts that way....ends that way. I learned very early in our relationship to not apply on my chest or neck...I nearly passed out. It was like suddenly being grabbed by a very masculine, overly keen guy, that had doused himself to the point of spontaneous combustion, thrown on the bling and was convinced he was God's Gift to alllllllll the ladies :( Just don't. Wrists and knees only. Trust me....this octopus is hard to shake off. Not for hot weather either. The warmer my body gets the stronger the silage. My chemistry projects this scent back at me 3 fold! It grows and grows and wraps itself around me. When I want to tone it down even more, I put a drizzle of Revlon Ciara over the top. That little bit of smoky incense really tones down the citrus and I find the testosterone like masculinity eases off dramatically. L: Very long lasting S: Enormous

mmmm one of my new favorite florals! starts out very flowery, then dries down to more of a woody vanilla. i don’t get any citrus though. still love it edit: been wearing this a few days now. in more detail, its very flowery and ZESTY. like the outside of a lemon type of citrus, not the inside. i find that this is easy to go nose blind to, also. i spray it on myself and cant smell it 10 minutes later, but i get many compliments on it.

it's too unisex for me... i don't know what it is. i hate this! it just smells cheap and doesn't dry down well. the citrus isn't a good citrus, and the fragrance just isn't blended well. smells like something from the dollar tree... and i'm not against cheap fragrances at all. there are cheap goodies, and this is NOT one!!!!!

Instant headache for me. I hated it every time I sprayed, until I finished the bottle. On the other hand, my partner loves it to the point that I got a second bottle for her. Very affordable.

Fecal matter. It must be the musk. The notes, projection and price all sounded promising. Blind bought for $10 because of the bottle design. Unwearable for me. 💩🥴

I will reiterate what a great value this is. I bought a 3.4 oz. tester for $15 and I think it's honestly the best scent I've ever gotten for such a low price. It's still there, but for me it becomes pretty faint after 1-2 hours and I'm searching for it (as someone else said, I guess it's easy to go nose blind to). But for the price I'm willing to respray often. On first spray it smells amazing and not cheap at all. I'm totally hooked on that first spritz. Fresh, but warm, sparkling, and just sweet enough. I would put it in the unisex category. It doesn't quite smell like it, but it makes me think of a more mature and elegant CK IN2U. I used to love CK IN2U so much, but I found the style of it very sporty, casual and it always reminded me of young people going clubbing in the summer circa 2005. This is a little like that old favorite but to me it doesn't have the clubbing vibe, so is more appropriate for my lifestyle these days. Edit: Upon further evaluation, I'm getting the comparisons to Viva La Juicy and am struggling with that. I still think this smells wonderful for about 2 minutes then devolves into a slightly masculine/more citrus version of VLJ. Sad. I can't really wear it. I wish the beginning stage lasted longer.

This one also surprised me! For the current price, it's very doable; safe but doable and I could see myself wearing it to work without a problem. Definitely not a divergent or atypical scent but still uplifting, bright, nice and above average for what you pay. I could see this as something you could pair other perfumes with to create a new scent, perhaps warmer, spicy fragrances. Definitely loving the Art Deco bottle! Definitely very sweet for my taste although younger people may not see it that way. I feel like I am more forgiving about sweeter, citrus scents as opposed to sweet frags with red fruits, berries etc. Again, still something that works for certain situations especially in office where I don't want to be too divergent or over-the-top about the perfumes I am wearing. Edit: In cooler weather this one is MUCH nicer and smoother. In the heat there's definitely a sticky sweet thing that can be too much.
