Rebel Soul

This is a lovely pleasant woody scent, inviting and friendly. There is a slight smokiness to it which gives it a very interesting edge, it lives in the same realm as the likes of Santal 33 and Tam Dao however this one is different enough to warrant owning it as well as either of those.

Smells like a cold, dark green forrest.

Out of the whole line, I find this one to be the most ‘conventional’ fragrance. It’s familiar to my nose, a scent profile that I’ve smelled a few times before, not so much in designer fragrance but more indie perfume houses. Off the top of my head the opening of this fragrance reminds me of ‘electric wood’ by Room 1015, ‘Le cedre’ by Miller Harris and a little of ‘cape heartache’ by Imaginary authors. When you look at the note breakdown there’s a common note that links all 4 and that’s cedar wood. As it happens I do really like the note of cedar wood, I find it gives of a clean masculine appeal and this fragrance by bel rebel is no different. Where this perfume does differ is in the dry down and how it goes in a more herbal direction. The cedar is the star player and is present throughout but the top note of sage gets stronger as the perfume progresses and the palo Santo comes through also, giving it a herbal/lemony background that is reminiscent of perfume oils you would normally burn. I think because of the cedar it isn’t as one dimensional as those oils can sometimes be, I also think of all the perfumes from bel rebel this is the closest thing to a signature scent. It’s masculine, clean and easy to wear. I don’t think your going to offend many people wearing this one but it doesn’t perform quite as well on my skin as the others from the line.

Absolutely gorgeous! A love at first sniff for me! Inviting vanilla and sage give way to a beautiful clean cedar wood and sandalwood aroma. The sandalwood is that lovely milky comforting type but the sage brings that herbal freshness and really enhances the wood notes. For someone like me who loves the smell of log cabins, pencil shavings, wood saunas it's a heaven! Full bottle worthy in my opinion as it's such a superior wood scent.
