Arabian Rose

Sampled it today in one of the top end department stores in London and LOVE IT!! It reminds me of Estee Lauder's AMBER MYSTIQUE and even more of ARAMIS CALLIGRAPHY ROSE which is only an Eau De Parfum but it will give you twice as much juice for just under £100, so I think I will settle with Estee Lauder, I am afraid to admit. But I must stress that this very product here is very beautiful indeed. It is just hard to buy into a new brand that you have not heard before, neither is there much info on the website (yet). If they pushed more with freebies (gifts), people would be more willing to buy into it....but perhaps that is not even necessary here in this case.

I received this perfume as a present on my birthday 2 days ago and wore it all day on a very hot spring day in Manchester, England. I would describe the scent as a very long lasting experience of powdery rose notes with subtle wrapping in oud and musk notes. The most prominent note is a very strong rose throughout the journey which although linear is very well executed. This scent does remind me of Rosa Bulgara by Il Profumi di Firenze. Thumbs up...!!!

That's how I would imagine happiness smells. Light, effortless, a bit citrusy, with prominent rose note and the fresh kick of geranium and cardamon. And in the background depth of woods. Arabian Rose is simply stunning and brings smile to my face whenever I smell it. It's a but similar to Rose Anonyme from Atelier Cologne but much more cheerful and... well, happy. Arabian Rose is compared on here to Jo Malone Rose & Oud- but I would strongly disagree. Rose and Oud is sickly sweet and uninspiring and Arabian Rose is nothing like that.

When wet, this has a sticky sweet 'Turkish delight' quality. Juicy pink taif rose and cool cardamom, enhanced to boozy levels by a dark syrupy oud. However, when it dries it turns into a more predictable pot-pourri rose and wood chippings, the inevitable outcome of so many rose/oud combinations. Can't say I'm enamored with it, although the loukhoum opening is interesting.

The rose in here reminds me of that in Molinard Rose Turkia. In Bellissimia, the rose is syrupy and balanced out with the oud which is very cool and light here. Reminds me of the rose and oud combo found in Rose D'Arabie. Very strong and potent as its a parfum.
