Bella Freud

I love this fragrance. It is the best out of the 4 Bella Freud perfume offerings. It is soft and powdery with a light woody Amber. It's very easy to wear and I will definitely repurchase. The only thing is the high price, in Australia it is $180 for 50ml bottle, but that is the price you pay for something that is so exclusive and hard to find. The bottle is beautiful and comes elegantly packaged. I'm happy I have it in my collection. If you get the chance to try any of the Bella Freud fragrances, go for it. The next one I want to get from this collection is Ginsburg is God.

This is a soft, classic, almost vintage fragrance. The prominence of yellow florals, amber, incense, and the appealing fuzzy-mustiness of osmanthus makes me think of a very tightly edited and minimalist Chanel 5 meets Shalimar - a kind of reinterpreted, modern take on classic perfumery. Bella Freud's clothing is almost annoyingly hip, but their fragrances cover a surprisingly wide range of styles. This is great for someone who likes the idea of traditional perfumes but without the maximalism and overt animalics. It's just incredibly chic.

I already knew I was going to love this. I don't get incense and that’s fine because that sweet, resinous, amber is divine.There is a bit of powderiness at the opening, but it's not baby powder so it's fine by me. The patchouli and musk are what settles last, and together they smell like a hug from your incredibly hip and worldly friend - the modern day beatnik who always has a great story to tell.

Surprisingly traditional and feminine--I was expecting a more rebellious concoction from the marketing. I get a little amber, but any ylang-ylang, osmanthus, vetiver, or ceder notes lifted so fast I missed them completely. Bella Freud quickly settles to a soft, musky patchouli skin scent that is redolent of Patchouli Reminiscence. It's lovely and I wouldn't mind someone getting a whiff of this if they get a hug--but I prefer the sillage (and price point) of Patchouli Reminiscence.

nice frag but not worth the price tag

I wanted to love this so much! All I can smell is musk. It overpowers the promise and expectation of the other smells. Sadly after wearing it for a day, this will have to be returned. I just cannot stomach the overpowering musky deodorant smell.

not sure about this one - it has all the notes that I like and usually work really well for me, however, this one ends up being a bit odd...low key but what I smell is some kind of dry powdered wood-ish thing.
