Je t'aime Jane

I really like this fragrance. It starts out as a pretty basic white flower scent with a noticeable orange blossom tinge. As it wears the musk and wood notes come out more and more and it turns from a fairly nondescript white floral to something much warmer and deeper. At the same time it gets a bit sweeter, which helps the floral notes come out in a way that prevents it from being just a woody fragrance. I love jasmine and orange blossoms, but sometimes they can get boring. This fragrance is white flowers with an edge, which is exactly what I was looking for.

As a clothing designer, Bella Freud's superficial, borrowed counter-culture aesthetic isn't my favorite. Her fragrances, on the other hand, are cool, but less self-consciously so. Je t'aime Jane is an ultra-feminine floral-fruity with shadowy facts. Its fresh and girly but not frivolous, the woods and resins adding a stern spine to the flowery fluff. It's vintage-pretty and sexy, boho and cool without trying too hard. The perfumers did a commendable job with this one.

I have all but Ginsberg from the Bella Freud line, but this rather expensive jasmine heavyweight sadly isn’t for me. Going up for sale on that "e" site. Update: sold

This smells very nice. I've had it on all of about an hour. So far its a straightforward white flower perfume. I am reminded of a bride on her wedding day. Perfect for that occasion!! Maybe because I chose bonds park avenue for my own. I'll let this develop further and see what happens. Oh and I really get a strong jasmine and tiger lily. Projection is very good. Update: as beautiful as this is...it lasts all of about two hours on my skin. Its far to expensive for me to purchase and reapply all throughout the day. I expected more longevity. *sigh*

I can't wait to get my sample!! So excited to try it!!!!
