Benetton Cold

[email protected] 's review was a joy to read, and put a smile on my face as reflecting my feelings "exactly" about Benetton Cold. And here's my story with it: I got Benetton Cold (new bottle with the thin font with cold logo) cheaper than the price of peanuts some 6-7 years ago. After a week of trials, I found it quite rancid and off putting - and moved it to my bathroom, thought all that soapiness, aldehydes and rosemary and geranium etc. would make a nice bathroom refresher scent. And day by day, it grew on me as I was spraying it every now and then on the shower curtains, towels etc., and whenever I came back to the bathroom after a few minutes or hours or days, this unbelievably fresh aroma was there lingering in the air, getting better and better in the next 1-2 days. It almost had a Chanel-like aldehydic-violet quality to it, believe it or not. That's how I loved this fragrance, by experiencing in the ambient air. You could easily recognize the violet (ionones) note, along with aldehydes and aromatics of 90's, some aspects of CK One, some aspects of Armani He and of course that heavenly musk-patchouli at the base. That's when I understood how fitting the name COLD was to this fragrance. Its sheer coldness reminding me of slightly Lanvin Oxygene as well, another cool aromatic I very much enjoy in the air rather than up close. Anyway, fast forward to this day...As my Cold bottle is nearly finished, I wanted to try the vintage version to compare side by side. Carefully selected the clearest possible liquid (avoiding yellow turned ones) in a miniature version...The bottle is as pictured here on Fragrantica, with the Cold text in bold, without the cold logo and with the small "Refreshing Eau de Toilette" text at the bottom. And lo and behold, there are clear contrasts between the two. I love the vintage more from get go, it doesn't start with that alcoholic spirit-aldehydic punch of the new version (could very well be aging for the better). Instead, the vintage version opens up with a green-fruity note, and keeps a bubblegum/fruit loops note towards the heart (usually when jasmine and orange ingredients combined, this effect shows up). It is warmer and smoother compared to the newer bottle. I think in this case, vintage is indeed making a significant difference, not to say it's conclusively better though, I enjoy both of them a lot as I switch back and forth the testing papers. The vintage bottle also has some sandalwood like masculine note, reminding me of Allure Homme, but only that sandalwood-oakmoss aspect of it. All in all, they are still at least 80% similar, and new formula smells brighter, fresher, colder with a more aldehydic effect if that matters. The vintage is evidently smoother, has a slight fruity thing going on and sandalwood lingering deep down. I wish they bring this back in any shape or form, it is truly a classic cheapie that is very well made IMO.

As Hot Chip says, I was a boy from school. I have to had some surgeries in my mouth, and only 13 years old. So much pain, I felt so ugly. I brushed my teeth after lunch, Listerine. I found this bottle of perfume because it was the 2000's and my dear mom bought it for father's day, for my powerful and amazing firefighter dad. In June, in one of the first months of High School in my life, I was so slow. The math teacher paired me with the sexy nerd, he was so tall and intelligent, my permanent crush that I felt so far away from me. I didn't undertand math or shit. But I had to get close to him, and he saw me deep into my brown clueless eyes, and said to me "Hueles tan rico". The mint, the lemon, basil, and clean soap. When you are a teenager, this is heaven. I am so sad that United Colors Of Benetton has an active social debt and war with the Mapuche Communities in Southern Argentina and Chile. This fragrance is a masterpiece, I am so guilty tho.

Es una fragancia que se siente muy bien en paises tropicales, tiene un extraño efecto seductor en las mujeres, mientra la usé recibí grandes elogios y es una ironia por que es barata. Parece que en paises frios no logra ese efecto que se logra en climas calurosos. Actualmente uso Lolita Lempicka y no he recibido ningun elogio sera por que talvez esta fragancia se siente mejor en un clima frio. Tambien recibo muchos elogios de otra colonia barata al igual que Cold Benetton y es Cuba Paris. Inglish: It is a scent that feels great in tropical countries, has a strange effect seductive women, WHILE I used it I received great praise, it is an irony that is cheap. It seems that in cold countries not achieve that effect achieved in hot weather. Lolita Lempicka currently use and have not received any praise be that maybe this fragrance feels better in cold weather. Also I get many compliments from other like cheap cologne and Benetton Cold Cuba Paris.

S-O-A-P🧼 That was the first thing that came to mind. Unisex leaning slightly masculine because of the vetiver, but very much like a soap the whole family would use. It's like an expensive version of SafeGuard. No flamboyant sweetness, no skanky woods, just a clean soap smell. The opening is different from drydown however. Opening reminds me of musty clothes but good thing it doesn't last long and settles to that soap smell. If you love a straightforward smell, you'll be very happy with this. The compliments you'll get are probably something like "You always smell like you just stepped out of the shower". It leans more casual to me rather than for office use, but both use cases are perfectly fine. For the price, this is a steal!

★★★★1⁄2 90s nostalgia in a bottle. This seems pretty musky to my nose but in a fresh way. Nothing smells like it, and it performs pretty well (6hours longevity projecting strong for the first one) I bought it for about 10 euros. You just can't go wrong with that. There are other summer cheapies though at that price point that I prefer (Guy Laroche Horizon f.e.) but to be honest Benetton Cold is something I am planning to use at the beach or post gym, when my Polo Sport needs to take a rest. Thumbs up for uniqueness and for the nostalgia! PS: Lovely bottle too!

The first perfume I fell in love. My bestfriend used to wear this (he's a guy) and I love this on him. I live in a tropical country and my school has an enormous field so the sun was always very strong. The sillage of this fragrance is amazing. Since then until 17 years later, I thought I love bergamot in fragrance but recently I realized it's the vetiver and patchouli that stole my heart.

I'm pleasantly surprised! It's a very nice scent with amazing performance,I mean it pumps and pumps and lingers for the whole day,no joke! I wonder what it is they found cold about this fragrance, it would be a star during the colder months. Generic? Not much... Be open-minded,judge the fragrance not how much you paid for it.

Very very pleasant for the price. My 14 year old son wears it but if he didn't I would. It is lovely and fresh and natural smelling. Not too floral and a light musky dry down. Cheerful and uncomplicated. Maybe not so long lasting but had worse that cost far more. Better than other Benetton frags I have had.

Charming citrus-aromatic. Quite modern, identifiably Italian. Very cohesive. Wears exceptionally well. Aldehydes, caraway, geranium, coriander lend sophistication. Similar to Jo Malone Lime Basil Mandarin is similar, but more effective. Great, great value.

A forgotten masterpiece! One of the best perfumes I have ever had.It smells very Cool, Fresh and very clean. Better than many expensive perfumes. Fantastic combination of citrus, aromatic and spicy notes. Excellent price and very good longevity...

I looooveee loooveeeee loveee Benetton Cold on my boyfriend! Its different than any other men perfumes. It smells so fresh and not too strong. Also, even though the price is not too expensive, but it last very long...

Used to be my favorite fragrance of all time, sadly it got reformulated and became from one of the best performers to one of the worst. doesnt even last 10mins

Esta fue mi primera fragancia, me la regalaron cuando cumplí 15 años. Lastima que ha sido muy reformulada y ya no es nada preciso a la cold original.

A COLD PLAY NOTE DESCRIPTION:Citrus-Floral,spicy-Musky(very pale) Cold inclines more towards the unisex category. It has Fresh opening (bergamot) and sightly spicy fragrance (Coriander)towards the heart but not overbearing thanks to the calming use of floral essence (lavender & Geranium) .A bit soapy but well in-sync with the natural components(cant be a signature scent because of this..). The base notes are very weak which makes this perfume not long lasting (A sign of a good perfume is longevity which is Characterized by their strength of their base notes ). So the note progress can be compared to that of opening a door at dawn to the sight of orange fields and returning back home lit by a lavender incense sticks. It has a very linear note to it and is easy on the untrained olfactory senses but to a trained nose (read Connoisseur )it becomes a tad bit boring. Not a unique fragrance. LONGEVITY AND SILAGE (PROJECTION): Its projection is good for an hour or 2 thanks to the opening notes which are well imbibed in this bottle but after that it remains close to your skin (the floral notes kicks in). The silage range is moderate to enormous.(depending on skin chemistry). OCCASION: Summer and Daytime Fragrance. Perfect for casual and informal Occasions. After Gym and other outdoor activities. Not for meetings where ones individuality comes to play and if one needs to be taken seriously. PERSONALITY: Age group 15 - 30 BOTTLE: The depiction of a tap goes well along with its theme(well imagined, a bit of bottled humor..chuckle).But for travel purpose,the bottling is impractical.(No cap and its like a tap,twist and press). SUMMARY: It is a descent package within the price allotted.Moderate longevity. Perfect for those who are new to the fragrance game as it is not expensive and has simple to identify notes. But for those who have a good collection of perfumes and are intrigued by complex notes, well don't bother.

Although benetton hot and cold are named unisex I find the hot one feminine as I find cold leans much more towards being masculine Cold is,just as hot,not something I'd love but I like it as like versatile,casual,easy to wear,inexpensive fragrances specially when they're clean smelling and cozy at the same time I can't smell much of citruses or spices here.it's all about lavender on my skin with a clean,almost soapy musky-aldehydic twist.it's crisp and clean and feels cool not too cold(as hot feels warm,not hot) I don't think it smells cheap.it's sort of a neutral scent not too much citrusy or woody or bitter or too much of anything men's colognes these days tend to be;si it would be a very good everyday fragrance specially in warm spring and summer days when you want to smell nice and clean but don't grab much attention I tested it once on my husband's skin and I feel it was a little different on him.on his skin,there was a hint of bergamot and spicy notes which never tend to show up on my mine now that I'm trying cold.so it might be less dull on men.never mind because I like it as it is.I gave it to hubby but I will borrow it sometimes to wear around home or before sleep when I want something simple and clean.it also feels comfortable and a little cozy I like benetton hot more as it's sweeter and more feminine but cold was a successful purchase too specially in this price point Longevity is about 6 hours which is very good for my perfume absorber skin,sillage is moderate at it's best.it's bottle is cute,lovely and funny Last point to mention is:Stay away if you hate lavender ❤❤❤

COLD is refreshing, like clean smelling classic crisp men's aftershave cologne. Very pleasant without being suffocating or overpowering. Bergamot creates the gentle citrus aspect, sweet Vetiver grass is strong, blending well with Lavender and Geranium. Corriander and Caraway lend a masculine touch. Aldehydes create a fresh, lightly soapy vibe. Musk and patchouli are just enough to give COLD lasting power. COLD is a really good bargain, and it doesn't smell cheap. It's more of a classic fragrance, not airy, ozonic, watery, or fruity like many of the current modern blends. Generally leaning to the more masculine side, COLD is sweet enough for women to enjoy wearing, too. After the first hour, COLD settles close to skin. COLD lasts on skin, hair and clothing for about 6 to 8 hours. Likeable fragrances, both COLD and HOT come in fun bottles with a top that clicks open with a very light twist, then press down to spray. Bottles of COLD and HOT look unique sitting side by side on bathroom counter, or display them together on a bathroom window ledge. Adds lighthearted, unexpected humor and fun to any decor. With COLD and HOT, you can display both your sense of humor and your good taste in high quality fragrances. That's certainly somethng to smile about !

Ok, funny story. I like to buy “sets” for my husband and myself. Meaning, I often purchase the women’s and men’s version of a scent when I can because I just think it’s cute to put them side by side on our dresser. So, when I spotted these cute little vintage faucet knob bottles, I purchased both Hot and Cold for us! We used to keep our fragrances on the bathroom vanity counter (since learned better) and I thought these would just be cute as a button! I like Hot but don’t reach for it often, and my husband’s cold bottle has a wonky sprayer so he doesn’t use it much. Recently, he was traveling and asked me to make some decants of his cologne to take in his carry on. I decided to decant Cold because he’d actually use it if it sprayed well! In the process, I got some on my hands! I ended up smelling it and loved it for myself!! I love freshies and soapy clean scents! So, I stole it!! 😂 It maybe leans a tiny bit masculine but I think it’s definitely unisex! It’s such a fresh relaxing scent to me!
