Colors de Benetton Man

This was in my want list and yesterday I found it at a local ross for 9 dollars, i had to nab it up. After i got to the parking lot after purchasing this, i excitedly, opened the box and put a spray on the wrist. I got a bit scared at first but it actually grew on me. It starts of to me like the smell of lime jello mixed with whipped cream, you know the stuff you get in a parfait cups in the hospital cafeteria? And then I get sort of a fresh barber shop smell, like shaving cream. And then it dries down to a very woody floral smell. Overall its a pretty good cheapie. For an 80s scent, its pretty light. Allot of the 80s scents tend to be a bit heavier like bijan (which I hate with a passion) sung homme and obsession (which I have and love) and drakkar noir . An excellent every day smell. Id say id probably buy it again if I were to run out.

Back in college (early 90's), this was my go-to scent. It is affordable, casual, and sweet smelling... just perfect for students and young gentlemen. I got compliments when I used this, even the guys were amazed by how good the scent is. This cologne is really simple to understand: fruity opening, then turns sweet, almost candy-llike, and then settles on to the vanilla drydown. The projection is wide, but dies after 45 minutes to an hour or so, then stays relatively close to the skin. The longevity is good, and the price can't be beat. I am now past 30, but if I can find another bottle, then I'll purchase it right away. This is just perfect when relaxing inside the house, or hanging out with friends on a cold afternoon winter day.

This is long out of production. Although it always was - at least to me - a *relatively* “flat” fragrance that produced little difference in scent upon dry-down, it has always been (since its original introduction - and as far as I can tell it’s the same scent as the original “black” Colors bottle just a reissuance in slightly different packaging) and still is my hands-down favorite “festive” fragrance. I generally wear it only during the annual holiday season. I recently bought what I suspect to be the very last new and complete 3.3 oz bottle available (an original, never opened tester), at least in the U.S.

Ive had this for awhile so i figured I should write a more in detail review. Every time I wear this, i warm up to it even more. I know it probably sounds odd coming from a 17 year old but I love it. It makes me feel comfortable and clean. Its so unique and unlike anything ive ever smelled. It gives me a very clean polished feel similar to the same feeling from mass produced aquatics. Its very subtle after about 10 minutes.Gets lemmony with soap suds. i love it,

the strong springy lemon blends perfectly into the light green woody notes. the balsamy(?) notes create this incens(y) undertone that blends well with the green notes. Just adfter you pick up on that heavy cedar. I personally don't get any vanilla. This is very green and oriental imo. Seen a couple listings online and for such a cheap designer it's a not a bad choice at all.

Like almost everyone else, I got this cheaply. I am pleased I purchased it as it is quite a decent fragrance for the price. From the outset it reminds me of YSL pour Homme, though it is somewhat weaker and less tenacious. It is really quite old fashioned and this belies the bottle itself, which makes it look like it should be a really 'out there' fragrance.

Most decent out of all Benetton's for men. The product is cheap for newbie, especially with low budget, better than unfamous brand with the same price label. I'll put this in the bathroom, whoever comes in are most welcome to use. My private shelf won't accomodate this so I'll place it outside

really love this one been wearing it the past few days, for me a get a nice fresh feeling of a spicy citrus in the beginning , to a woody citrus toward the end , if this is fall i can only imagine this being better in the spring and summer cant wait for that

The last two reviews said this smells like Interlude Man and Rive Gauche. None of the 3 have even the slightest resemblance. I'm beginning to think these reviews are just shills to pump sales of a "similar scent".

Starts with a good hit of citrus and dries further into a barbershop scent with a bit of shaving foam and talcum powder accords. The dry down smells like a cousin of the illustrious and illusive Rive Gauche!

The lemon is very intense in the beginning and during the middle notes, and when it comes to the base notes, you can definitely feel the vanilla. It does remind you of something, maybe during the 80's it was a commom smell and used for other purposes, like car air freshener and cleaning products. I'm not saying that you will smell like that, but I wouldn't recommend to you if you want to show up with a nice, modern smell. The best occasion for me is to be worn as a work scent and when the weather is mild. Big longevity and projection, it lasts the whole day and people around you will smell. Maybe if somebody gets too close it can be strong, so be careful with the number of sprays. Age group: any, but some may see it as a more mature man fragrance, since it's not that modern.

I bought this about 12 months ago, sprayed it on....Man!!! The first picture I got was my Grandfather, wearing his spotted pullover and pipe in his mouth. I can remember him smelling exactly like Colors de Benetton. I gave it to him a few months after and would you know it, he told me that it's his favourite fragrance.

My initial impression of this was very much citrusy and herbal (like a more citrus-noted Halston Z-14). The dry down opens up some of the florals and the base notes give a nice subtlety. If only this fragrance was stronger and lasted longer.

I used to have this in High School in the original black bottle. It has most likely been reformulated (and cheapened) in recent years, but it holds fond memories for me. I remember it being fresh, citrusy, aromatic and green...

Like lemon sherbets in liquid form. Synthetic and a little dated? Perhaps - but refreshing, fun and pleasurable to wear. Cheap as chips too!

I blind bought this one a couple of years ago and I'm going to be blunt, frankly I was disgusted. You know that guy that's sitting next to you at a wedding who no one seems to know, but he's taking the buffet for all it's worth, and his clothes are seriously outdated? Well this is exactlly what he smells like. It's strong and in your face, as if to say, LOOK AT ME, I'M HERE AND I'M OBNOXIOUS, DEAL WITH IT. If you want to repel those around you buy this frag, it'll do the trick.

I blind bought a 100 ml of this for $10.... immediately "gifted" it to my dad. Hyper-citrusy barbershop smell, with an undeniable note of talc powder and that blue stuff they disinfect combs with at the beauty parlor. Two lemons walk into a barbershop, one lemon falls into the comb-sterilyzing solution... the other follows... they throw the solution at customers, and piss off all the old men. That's the story of this perfume, adios!

I received this fragrance as a christmas present 6 years ago. Initially it smelt alright, but then it started to settle and bluntly smelt like old smelly socks and a lot of bad worded scents I'm not going to repeat in this post. I'm not overly materialistic, but I am picky when it comes to my perfume and for me a 5 dollars Australian buy isn't never a good idea where perfume is considered.

Is it mistake?No-it's just Benetton, made cheaply for profits, the only value is the glass and name-fragrance is less interesting then cheap versions of big brands or other cheap fragrances. Better to buy some fresh lemon for lemonade then spend money on this something:P

Smell is outdated and not very masculine. Bought on clearance a while ago. Will only wear on odd occasion now. May have been a popular trendy smell in the 90s, but passe now.
