Yeah, after reading through many of these reviews, Im almost tempted to just get another bottle of Bently Absolute bc Im getting such a different experience from my bottle vs the experiences reported here on Fragrantica... So, when Id first gotten a bottle of this amazing fragrance, it barely had NO SMELL AT ALL, and all I was getting was an (extremely) faint powdery/smokiness and a shit-ton of Iso e Super and the was it! I was tempted to return it immediately (Burlington), but remembered that most of the Laliques in my collected needed time to macerate to teach their full potential. So I'd decided to just hang on to my bottle with fingers crossed. I kept going back to my bottle every week to see if the smell/performance had improved, and it WOULD improve, all be it (very slowly) gaining a noticable smell little, by little, by little until almost 2 months later! It'd FINALLY bloomed into this GORGEOUS, uber masculine, dry/powdery, peppery/woody, incensey/smokey and evocative masterpiece! Id actually put a good dent in my bottle due to iver-spraying out of frustration from the smell being so faint during the maceration process, so folks, plz dont give us a hard time when we say there's no smell when we first get our bottles of Bently Absolute bc it's 100% FACTS that seemingly some bottles DO NOT come fully macerated, and if ya don't know about "Maceration", then ofcourse you're gonna assume that this fragrance is "CRAPOLA".! Lol. Even now, I get no cumin, cola or "BBQ smell which makes me wonder if this scent differs from batch to batch which is why Id mentioned at the start of this review about grabbing another bottle, thing is that Im VERY happy with my bottle now, it's VERY mature yet NOT "old manish", "brooding", and quite "Niche/devisive" and I LOOOVE this super high quality fragrance with excellent longevity and a (gentlmanly sillage). An 8 outta 10 fragrance imo, and an amazing flanker in the Bently fragrance line. Thanks to whomever took time to read my review🫠

---------NOT what I expected------ So as soon I purchased Bently Absolute at Burlington Coat Factory and sprayed it on in the parking lot, I almost ran back in to return it bc I couldnt smell ANYTHING! (Thought it was a fake) But, the longer I waited, I started getting (just a tiny bit) of smoke, a tiny bit of powder and a BUNCH of Iso E Super which is a veeerry faint woody-ish note.. Thats it! I didnt really get anything truley woody, pencil shaving like or spicey whatsoever. It simply remains super faint and then just completely vanishes after about 30 minutes (if that) leaving behind just the faint Iso E Super. Now, I did notice that Bently Absolute is by Lalique, and although Ive never had any other fragrance smell this weak, I've had some bad initial performance issues with Lalique's Equus, Encre Noire and Encre Noire L'Extreme but after spraying some out and storing them for a few weeks, there was a CRAZY-DRASTIC improvement. I've had different perfumes improve over time, but nothing as drastic as my Laliques have, so luckily, I haven't yet had any regrets with this brand, but I do think somethings wrong with this batch/bottle bc there is barely any smell at all. Im not exaggerating or going anosmic because no one can smell it on me either, and I am actually very familiar with Iso e Super and can clearly smell it in fragrances, so there's that part. I'll have to come back in a few weeks for an update bc for now, the sillage/longevity is truley negligible, plus im only getting a very, VERY faint smokey, dark, powdery note where the Iso e Super actually over-powers the other negligible notes, but I still have high hopes... So, Here we go again...fingers crossed 🤞🙄. Hopefully this helps anyone who is taken-aback by the lack of perfomance with their newer Lalique batches. Hello fans! I had 3 bottles of this fragrance and now I only have 2. The first one I bought was produced in 2022 and I was impressed with the fragrance but unfortunately I was disappointed with the performance... - it smelled great but not for more than an hour then it lingered just a memory of the great fragrance. After reading introductions and comments about the fragrance, I looked for old batches and luckily I was able to find a bottle from 2019. Love killer...... The smell is rich and lasting, the same as from the 2022 bottle, but there is nothing in common - the fragrance is long lasting and even after 5 hours I can feel its projection from my neck. I was able to return the bottle from '22. Since the scent is specific and grabbed me, I looked for more old bottles. I found one from 2018 and bought it. I can't be sure because I only used it once, but the scent was extremely strong for the first 4 hours, then I showered without scrubbing too much where it was applied.......the next 4 hours after the bath the scent was there and there was a distinct projection of 30 cm. So, I find the 2018 bottle extremely strong and keep it as a reserve. The new batches have no change in the fragrance but unfortunately they don't have the same longevity and projection as the old bottles.... I don't know why it happens as the cans say the same ingredient content is used but there is a difference... . There are many comments that it resembles Gucci pour homme from 2003. Whether it is - I don't know, because I don't have such a bottle, but even if it doesn't resemble any famous brand and fragrance, it has an amazing and unique sexy, masculine smell of candle and church that every man should have. Unfortunately, the 22nd year bottles don't deserve any attention as the smell will only last until you walk out. Very sad but true....

I don't know the Gucci, but to me this does smell very much like like a less powdery/dusty/textured, slightly darker version of Comme des Garçons 2 Man. Actually I'm surprised how similar they are, aside from the immediate openings, with the kumquat and so on in 2 Man (the side notes to the woody stuff). I even get the slight banana-like note in this that I get in 2 Man and many other woody fragrances with some more or less exotic touches. (This is probably more cedary-minty than 2 Man, but no, it does not immediately remind me of my cedar humidor. The scent of pencil shavings, however, is obvious here if I think of it.) This is all fine by me, since, despite liking the smell of 2 Man, I could never bring myself to buy a bottle of it, because it didn't wholly feel like a daytime fragrance, didn't wholly feel like an evening fragrance, and certainly didn't wholly feel as if it were both. I always found it to be something of an "afternoon" fragrance (not something I've particularly coveted), but this Bentley takes a similar scent profile and gently nudges it in the direction of evening, although this is also understated enough to be wearable during the day. I suppose the absence of aldehydes makes this more laid-back and almost literally less abrasive than 2 Man. Unfortunately my first impression is that something else that this may share with 2 Man is indeed a lack of longevity. I say this is as someone who definitely can smell the usual isomers of Iso E Super. (It's just about the only thing I can still smell in the old bottle of Encre Noire original that I've just replaced.) Still, I'm sure this will work well enough on clothes. The smell itself merits a little experimentation and credit.

So, this fragrance is almost perfect, almost. Maybe the writer in me loves the pencil shavings accord the cedar and papyrus brings forth, but I really wished this was a bit stronger and lasted longer. Probably the biggest ding this fragrance gets, is this borderline musty smell in the top...not sure if that's the oud or olibanum doing that. Thankfully, that offputting smell dissolves about 20-30 minutes after application. Outside of me selfishly wishing it lasted longer and that potentially divisive top, this is a perfect fragrance. This starts off with this deep, dark woods, with a smoky accord likely from the olibanum, with a dash of pink pepper giving this a dimmed brightness and kick. This is also where that musty smell was coming in as well. But, as it dries down, this is where this fragrance shines. I don't know which notes are creating this, but I get a powderiness and to my nose, it comes off as powdered cedar in the form of a shit ton of pencil shavings...masterful! It stays like this for about 4 hours, before drying down into a nice woody skin scent. Projection is moderate at best. It's not meant for everyone to know you're wearing this. Feels like this is a fragrance moreso for the wearer. Silage is less than moderate...people will need to hug you to know you have this on. Longevity is okay for a woody scent. I would like for this type of scent to at least encroach 8 hours, again selfishly. I get about 6.5 hours with this one and normally my skin carries fragrances well. Projection: 6 Silage: 5 Longevity: 6 Scent: 9 Price: 10 Overall: 7.2

Extremely high quality fragrance, I wouldn't expect any less from Lalique (who actually makes all of the Bentley fragrances). This is basically Gucci Pour Homme and has the same nose behind it (Michel Almairac), remade by Lalique and sold by Bentley. Very deep, almost smoky, greenish opening, I can detect the pink pepper, light ginger. I'm the miss that beautiful sandalwood mixes with a pencil shaving cedar scent, that remains through the whole trip comes forward as the fragrance transitions into the mids. Rich slightly animalic amber base blends perfectly with the cedar. I can detect either tonka or vanilla in the bar although neither note is listed, and as it dries down it becomes slightly sweet. Longevity is above average and projection is good for the first couple hours, settles down into a nice scent bubble for a good 6-8 hours after that. It's not a groundbreaking fragrance, but it's undeniably of excellent quality. I would only wear this in the winter and fall, I can see this extremely cloying in warm weather or with heavy sprays. It smells like it would best suited men over 30 or formal occasions for men 25+. I think most fragrances tend to be much more unisex than their marketing suggests, but this is definitely one I'd call masculine. Great buy for $25-30. I far prefer this fragrance to Bentley Intense, even though I hear much more chatter about that one. Definitely one of the woodier compositions in my collection. 8/10

A near enough copy of the original Gucci Pour Homme that it doesn't matter If there are differences I am not sophisticated enough to notice them I have one last unopened 30 ml bottle of GPH from 2008 that I got on discount in TK Maxx that I just couldn't bring myself to open - and now I don't need to When I'm wearing this and I close my eyes I'm brought back to my childhood - walking barefoot through a stinking hot Australian forest in mid summer surrounded by the close smell of dry hot fragrant wood and spice with a tang of bushfire smoke off in the distance For me, 3 sprays lasts all day and most of the night with glorious spurts of reminders up my nose every time I get up and walk around, and for the price this can be an everyday pleasure Beautifully packaged and presented, a very worth successor to GPH Interestingly someone below said Bentley told them it wasn't being discontinued but it's not on their website as of 29 January 2020 richmilton said it best: "Current Owners of Gucci PH: "This smells nothing like it." Former Owners of Gucci PH: "Wow, the magic is back! This is a clone (or near clone) of Gucci PH. Sellers of Gucci PH: "Best fragrance ever made for just $500! The Bentley Absolute does not compare. Hurry the Gucci won't last!" New Owners of Bentley Absolute: "I don't care if this smells like Gucci or not, this juice is awesome! It's woody, smoky and manly... love it!"

Amazing range of reviews on this. As xyzzo mentioned, there must be some bad batches out there because this is neither sweet, boring, generic nor floral. Hits immediately with sauna cedar (not pencil cedar), unburned pinon incense, pepper and frankincense. As it develops, bits of clean cumin, and oakmoss join. Sits on the right side of austere (Intense, for me, is a bit too far on the wrong side), and this is definitely masculine. But it is understated, with quiet projection. I love wood-centric fragrances, and this is one of the best cedar EDTs I have tried, even moreso when the price is considered. Good for office, formal, leather jacket or outdoors, but not a compliment magnet, young clubber or gourmandy date fragrance. It is of a type with Encre Noir A L'Extreme (though a different fragrance), so if you love/hate that, you will probably love/hate this. One last thing. A few others have mentioned this, but this is the kind of fragrance that men may try and then sell quickly, especially if they are newer to fragrances. But the memory of it will stick in the back of your brain, telling you that you NEED a bottle of this. You will resist for a little while but ultimately cave, maybe just to get free shipping or something. And when you try it again, you will wonder how you didn't love this from the start, and why you ever got rid of it.

Has anyone had this experience?? Should I buy another bottle??? So I had left a rant a few comments down on 10/25/2004 about a bottle of Bently Absolute I'd purchased at Burlington Coat Factory. My rant was about the fact that I just couldnt smell this fragrance no matter how much Id spray on myself which really had me upset especially bc I've been so curious about this frag for so so long. Id almost returned it but decided to give it a chance to macerate, well it's been almost a month, and having periodically tried it throughout that time, Id begin to smell it more and more. Finally now, close to a month later it smells like a fragrance, but I still dont really get the same experience Ive read others here are having (and I really want to).. Now, like most folks here are saying, it does sit (very) close to the skin, but what I get is a soft "Powdery Smoke" with woods at the base. Now the woods smell like amped up Iso e Super to my nose which isn't a very prominent smell, but atleast it's something. I get NO spices or boozy notes at all, so this bottle leaves me wondering if there's something wrong with it? Idk, Im still quite underwhelmed tbh. So again, should I buy another bottle? Can someone offer some advise plz? TY!😉

Look at the votes. 50% think it's long-lasting or eternal. Longer lasting fragrances exist, but the votes put this as a very long-lasting fragrance. >50% is a high score. Look at the comments. Hysterical and hyperbolic. Lots of people claiming it has literally no scent at all. How to explain this? I don't know. This review page is like Aventus's. Loads of frag bros who've been damaged forever by Sauvage and Boss Elixirs saying close to nothing about the fragrance, and all trying to out-do each other with extravagant complaints about performance, to the point where the reviews just become an ever-more-reverberative echo chamber. And remember: >50% of voters think this is long-lasting or eternal. >80% of reviewers think it's weak, perhaps undetectable, lasting less than one or two hours. I have both Gucci Pour Homme 1 and this. They're almost identical (or literally identical) in scent and performance. The perfumer and the perfumer's son have said the same. Cue someone who paid $300 for a NOS GPH1 on ebay saying they're absolutely nothing alike blah blah blah... (One commenter on GPH1 actually suggested Benjamin and Michel Almairac are simply lying about the Bentley and PMDP Papyrus... It's a mad, mad world. )

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 152 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased September 2019 Begun with a 5 mL decant spray. Didn't immediately like it. Took my time on it I suppose and didn't end up finishing it either. Perhaps it didn't suit me, I love strong shit but the category of strong on this one probably wasn't what I was in for. 2024 Update: Batch: F0F23 from June 2023. I bought a new bottle and turns out it's accurate to what I last remember smelling, it's probably even better because this time I instantly liked it. Becomes a full blown cut cedar scent, probably could spray on shoe trees to reinvigorate their scent. Besides, the cheap ones are not made of cedar. The best ones, the traditional ones, are made of cedar because of cedar wood's natural aromatic properties and odour prevention what with the anti-microbial thing along with its natural odour removal of the space the piece of cedar occupies. Though I love how oud accompanies this as if the cedar was the giant with its midget oud friend. Still an EDP.

This is a real hidden gem in the Bentley for Men collection. I hear many speak about BfM Intense, which is also good, but this one is far superior in my opinion. It's very similar to the legendary original Gucci Pour Homme. Very similar, a little bit darker. Interestingly, Michael Almairac is the nose behind both this and Gucci PH. This is the poor man's version of Tom Ford Bois Pacifique, even though it predates BP by over a decade. Performance is great for the price and it is very high quality. I prefer BP by quite a bit, and it has an incredible opening, but I literally got this for about 10% of the price and they are on par quality wise, BP just has a decent bit more complexity in the opening, but the dry down is very similar. I think the Bentley honestly may edge out BP in terms of longevity and projection. 8 hours is not hard to achieve with this one. Strong projection in the first hour. Stellar buy, but not for everyone. This is not a safe blind buy and it took me some time to really appreciate it. 86/100

Bentley ~ For Men Absolute 2014 EDP: The opening has some Fruity, Floral, and prominent Iris notes, none of it is on the note breakdown. Frankincense has a Fruity note to it, that might explain some of the Fruity notes i get, but not the Floral and Iris notes. For Men Absolute is not the same as Prada L'Homme Intense 2017 EDP, but some of the Fruity, Floral and Iris notes are similar. Both are part of my Signature collection, and in the same wheelhouse. The drydown has more Smoke, Oud, Wood, Ginger, Amber and Moss, but there are still Floral and Iris notes in the background. The Prominent notes are Smoky Leathery Hardwoods. With 2 sprays in the morning, respray in the evening, and I still get some of the delicious scent when I wake up the next day. 4 sprays total last longer than 24 hours. I didn't expect For Men Absolute, at only $33 USD, to be soooo good, beautiful, and one of my Signature scents. I Absolutely LOVE Bentley For Men Absolute 😍

I'm wearing this for the first time in awhile and clearly missed this. This is the standard for that pencil shavings woody accord. The papyrus does bring some challenges on the opening, but that's mainly when the bottle is new. After sitting it for several months, that same papyrus note blends beautifully with the atlas cedar. There's an incense note that wafts the fragrance about as it drys down. Cedarwood is probably my favorite note in fragrances and this does a hell of a job of showcasing that note. It doesn't project loud, moderate at best. But it lasts on skin for over 8 hours. People likely won't compliment this fragrance. This is more of a personal wear. Great fragrance for an artist or writer or even just one that loves the smell of dry smoky woods. The price makes this an incredible value buy. I've never smelled the inspo of this, but I won't need to with this in the collection. Just an outstanding fragrance overall!

Like the best smelling piece of wooden furniture on earth. I can’t get enough of this, it’s so wonderful catching the scent through the day. It’s dry but with just a touch of sweetness to round it out. I love the opening, and I think the ginger actually hangs around for quite a while, and plays really nicely with cedar. I love the dry down as well, I just wish it lasted longer! Performance is absolutely awful, though it does actually hang around as an almost imperceptibly faint scent in a personal bubble for max 6 hours or so with a spray on each wrist. But it’s extremely subtle, you will catch the faintest hint of it every now and then. Though if you can’t smell it, what’s the point in wearing it? Edit: Not sure what changed but it's actually a decent performer, it’s just a very subtle scent. However, performance in hot weather is absolutely abysmal. I had 10 sprays on and my wife couldn’t smell anything after about an hour.

After having had Gucci Pour Homme 2003 as a teenager back in the day, my first perfume ever, I was so happy to find this one. The smell is unmistakeably similar, I wouldn't know how it differs. Maybe the Gucci perfume had a bit more of a luxurious/power sillage and a less synthetic opening but for the rest its the same kind of spicy woody fragrance that I remember it to be. I'm not the kind of person who categorizes perfumes as being only good for the summer or winter, but with this fragrance I heavily lean towards the winter. It really has a cedary quality to it that doesn't fit a warm sunny day. It also is a fragrance that I wouldn't wear casually. It exudes masculinity and would be best paired in my opinion with a dressed up look, a suit, or anything that exudes confidence and status. All in all, a great original Gucci Pour Homme clone for its price, one that brought me so much nostalgia and many compliments.

Basically Gucci Pour Homme in a new bottle. What a delight this is to wear! I'm not super crazy about the opening as there is an cumin like not in there that can be a little abrasive, and even after owning this one for a while, it still catches me off guard, but it passes quickly enough, once the dry down starts, this is fantastic. It's crazy value for the price and I have seen bottles selling for around $20. Lalique never fails to impress with quality, and this is no exception. It's definitely a mature scent profile and shares a lot of DNA with Tom Ford Bois Pacifique, as well. Bois Pacifique has a much better opening and is better quality all around, but also costs 5x as much, but doesn't smell 5x better (maybe 2.5x 😉) I'm also a huge fan of Bentley Momentum Intense which is a beautiful green aromatic, often said to be based on the classic CH Men, but that's another review.

This is as old school, woody a fragrance as you can get. It’s just something that in 2025/6 for an easily accessible fragrance you just don’t come across as a perfume style anymore. It’s woody, dry and has absolutely no sweetness to it. It’s a fantastic cold weather scent, before everyone associated Christmas pudding with winter scents (SWY/Le Male Elixir/Azzaro Most wanted Intense EDP & Parfum/JPG le Scandal/Spicebomb extreme). This is what makes it “old school masculine”. I’ve had amazingly positive reactions to it from people in the 30+ age range (and I’m in my 50s). I have all the sweet winter fragrances, but on occasion, its great to just get away from the sweetness- in a way a woody, refershing, smell for cold weather that absolute is noticeable in cold weather without being sweet. Very underrated!!

So, I probably reviewed this before but I'm not about to doom scroll to find it. I noticed I only "liked" this initially. I was likely struggling with the papyrus (smells like a wrinkled $100 bill in someone's pocket) in this, but that only lasts in the opening now. Out of the 200+ fragrances I have, this is the best woody I have scent wise. I don't have the OG this is inspired by, so I can't compare those. The only other fragrance I have with that pencil shavings vibe is Rasasi Waaw on the far drydown. But the Absolute's woody note is clean and upfront from the beginning till the end! This lasts a whole work day, but I would love for this to project more...so if anyone knows of a stronger projecting version of this, please share! The creator of this scent, Michel Almairac said “I wanted to express the strong, authentic side of the Bentley brand in this fragrance, while also bringing out its timelessness. I therefore focused on woody notes, which have strength and unique character. This is also why I chose precious agarwood for this composition." Top notes of ginger, pink peppercorns, frankincense. Its heart notes are papyrus, sandalwood and atlas cedar and it has base notes of ambergris, oud and moss. It is identical to one of my all-time favourite scents Gucci Pour Homme (now sadly discontinued). The other scent which is identical to it is Papyrus Oud by Parle Moi. From memory the strength and depth of both of these are greater than the Gucci.

Great stuff at a great price! It reminds me of Xerjoff Alexandria II without the sweet vanilla and lavender: it's like a much dryer version of Xerjoff A2. I have heard that this is a recreation of Gucci Pour Homme I and it definitely has the same nose (Michael Almairac) behind it. In typical Lalique fashion, the quality is off of the charts! Great for the Fall and Winter. Very manly, definitely something for a confident man. I think most of the frags in my collection are unisex but lean one way or the other, this one is definitely masculine only in my opinion. As far as performance, you get very string sillage/projection is HUGE in the first 2 hours, lasts about 7-8 hours total on skin, longer on cloth. 83/100

My review is for the EDP Intense Black cap version. Praise the Lord, Gucci Pour Homme lives again or to be precise Bentley Absolute is Gucci PH Version 2.0. 85 % of the DNA is the same though the Bentley is more straight forward in the areas where the Gucci was nuanced, like a broadsword to a rapier. The Black cap EDP version has far better performance and longevity as well, lasts 10 hours on me easy whereas My GPH is a skin scent on me around the 5-6 hour mark. If you have smelled Gucci Pour Homme, you know what this smells like and if you dont know what Gucci Pour Homme smells like, you should, so this is your chance. Basically, either ways, Just go buy Bentley Absolute. Outstanding. 9/10

This fragrance definitely not for everyone, it reminds me of the sadly forgotten Montale Greyland. I never had the opportunity to smell the Gucci, so I cannot compare. It is an old school man fragrance spicy woody and mature. I really like sweet fragrances but because of how much this frag stands out from the modern parfume trends, I started really appreciate it. I only miss incest from it, that would be brutal. Sadly I dont really like ginger, so the opening is something I need to go through to enjoy it later, but thats my own preference. Someone said that this smells like a sauna with dry woods, yes its something like that plus add ginger. I love this.

Out of 300 plus collection of mine, that is the best for less then 40 dollars . TONS OF COMPLIMENTS and good performance . Perfect for rainy days , fall/winter . It smells like a log of wood was sitting in rain for a season and in summer the same log of wood has dried down because of extreme heat from sun .Then suddenly one day you decide to carve something out of this log of wood. The dry shaves of wood that are coming out of it while shaping it , THAT IS HOW EXACTLY IT SMELLS. Like a perfect seasoned dry wood with touch of amber, oakmoss and olibanum . Masculine , woody yet not smelling at all like the barber shop. A modern masterpiece for that price .

1st impression: I think these bottles are nice. Weak atomizer. Weak projection. About 3 hours to skin scent (and that isn't strong). The scent itself is nice. It is an old building type of smell, but, for me, in a good way. There's cedar, but no pickle (which I get with other inexpensive frags like Equus and Quorum Silver). Soft, slightly dusty, woody, touch of incense. Masculine. Lacks strength. Smells good enough that I don't feel bad about the approx $25 I spent in January of 2025. I'll let it sit for 3 or 4 months before I decide that I wouldn't do it again and/or recommend that no one else does either. I'll update if it improves or I change my mind.

The woody, incensy aspect of this fragrance transports me mentally to ashrams (meditation and spiritual centres) in Indian forests. These places are in the middle of woods and with incense being lit in these places, it gives an immense sense of calmness and tranquility. It doesn't project and I'm OK with that. This is not really a compliment type of fragrance..I wear it only for myself. Every time, the first spray is magical. I haven't smelled Gucci Pour Homme, and I'm not surprised it got discontinued. This isn't a mass pleasing fragrance...I'm glad Bentley is keeping it around though...because I'll keep buying the bottles as long as they make them.

Essentially a slightly tweaked version of Gucci pour homme 2003. Made by the same perfumer who according to a rumor just sold / recreated the formula for Lalique who manufactures this Bentley fragrance. Wonderful deep spices + pencil shavings + incense and a hint of (very polite and clean) Oud. Good performance and amazing value for money. In terms of uniqueness it is very unique in the grand scheme of things even if it’s extremely similar to Gucci pour Homme since that is long discontinued and goes for absurd amounts of money in the grey market. Beautiful bottle too. Highly recommend but not safe to blind buy unless you already know GpH.

Don’t listen to the people that are anosmic to iso e super, this is a very long lasting fragrance. I sprayed 5 shots of this on my hoodie 3 days ago and I still smell it, strong. This is a 2024 bottle off Amazon too. I have thousands of dollars worth of niche fragrances, and yet I always want to pull this one out. It’s so high end smelling, which I still can’t believe for the price. It’s an amazing woody cedar cigar box type smelling scent. Best $35 I’ve spent on perfumery in my life. 10/10 for that, much much better than Bentley for men intense, which is a good scent I own as well, but it smells a little cheap for my taste.

Blind bought this fragrance and I do not regret it. For me the fragrance is fairly linear. A nice dry sappy cedar. It is exactly how I remember smelling old cedar boards on a hot day in woodshop. If you are a fan of dry, woody scents without sweetness. If you love the smell of old books in libraries, or smelling genuinely vintage cabinetry, then I believe this is a scent that will evoke pleasant memories. Would recommend. Interested to see how this holds up in summer because I do not see a reason it would not however consensus is against it.

It smells nearly identical to Gucci Pour Homme! My dad used my whole bottle of Gucci while I was away at college in 2007. It was one of my all time favorites! I was devastated and then even worse when I heard they discontinued it. The first time I smelled Absolute... SO MUCH JOY! It brought me right back to 2007. Also because I hadn’t smelled it in so long! It was kind of like when a dog reunited with an owner who had been away with the military and they smell the owner and are uncontrollably wagging and jumping... that’s how I felt 😂😂

This one really surprised me with it's complexity and depth, who would have exoected such a gem from a car line. If it was a "niche" fragrance, everybody would be talking about it. I could easily see it as something from Amouage. It starts spicy, warm and a kind of "luxury wood". Like the wood parts in a luxury car would smell like. In the dry down it's woody, dark and mossy. A very refined and manly smell, great for every occasion as long as you own it. Easily beats a lot of perfumes 10 times the price.

The opening is a little too sharp for me, but about an hour into the dry down it becomes very smooth. Very mature dark scent for sure, falls right in line with other Lalique men's winter frags (Bentley Intense, Encre Noire, Ombre Noire). I much prefer for this to Bentley Intense, but Encre Noire A'la Extreme is a lot more well rounded to me. Very high quality and insane longevity. It smells a little more mature for my nose than I'd like. It's a solid 7/10 for me, I will update after a few more wears.

Hi, if you want more than 8 hours of durability then look for the bottle with the batch code (batch) 102091F17, this was in my opinion the best batch with papyrus, olibanum and raw cedar. Mega beautiful, ...Gucci I (the first of the two) was more spacious. Also the master Michel Almairac, the end of the day listened to the prayers of a beautiful generation of perfumomaniacs and presented to the world once again the great Gucci I of 2003 Greetings warmly from the rather cold but beautiful Pomerania.

I own OG Gucci pour Homme. I just wanted to save Juice, bought Bentley for men Absolute and I am just blown away. Paid 25 bucks for it and man oh man it is just Brilliant alternative. Smell - Delightful (You either love it or hate it, do not blind buy). Longevity - 5-6 Hours. Silage and projection could be better but for this price cannot really complain. juice is amazing, just overspray. I layered it with Grand soir, man oh man crazy good combo also Definitely Recommend this one, CEO type thing.

One of my top 3 favorite colognes. I like this type of oud and wasn't expecting it to be so good. The bottle is a good representation of its character, very dark and woody. To me this is a scent I always end up holding my hand or wrist so I can smell it. It is addicting. If you like dark, woody, oudy without the incense or flowery smoky scent then you will enjoy this. Very comforting scent. Cold weather or night time. I often wear this to bed and smell myself every so often. Amazing value

A lot of people probably won't like this but it's very niche and very well blended. Reminds me of the Bentley Intense as a base with Amouage Memoir Man as the top and mid layer. Yes .. I own Memoir Man and this has similarities with that dark sandalwood Forrest feel, not identical, but similar. For $35 this is an absolute steal!!! Do I get the infamous "pencil shavings"? Slightly, but more of a placebo effect. I'm truly captivated by this one. Phenomenal Fragrance

Smells absolutely incredible for all of 30 minutes and then it's gone. I've never had a problem with the longevity of any other fragrance, even D&G The One lasts on me when others complain it's gone too quick. Something in this just burns away on my skin or makes me go nose blind very quickly. So sad because I love the scent. Wish it lasted longer on me. If I'm judging just on the scent, it's an 8.5/10 but longevity, projection and sillage is about a 3/10.

if you want to smell MANLY, not sweet, not fresh, not metrosexual...but if you want to smell absolutely MANLY... this is a good try, might not work for all men body chemistry but for me...i get INSANE compliments especially at night, spray on skin and let the scent come up through my clothes as i move around ladies have to get close and when they do, it's something very masculine that triggers them to just want to stay close to you 8/10 for sure

If you like wood/incense (Wonderwood, Chene, Tam Dao, etc.), you can easily blind buy this one. If you used to enjoy Gucci PH (long discontinued), you can also get it without worries—it resembles it enough to satisfy your craving. An excellent fragrance. I don’t understand how it can cost only EUR 25. It’s right up there on the podium with Encre Noire at this price point. A must have in any serious collection.

Honestly, the value for money here is just ridiculous. It opens up with this incredible, bone-dry pencil-shaving cedar, but as it settles, you get this warm, rich resin and incense vibe that’s super comforting. The way it evolves over the day from sharp wood to a warm, smoky dry-down is fantastic. Plus, the longevity is insane - it stays alive on my skin for nearly 24 hours. An absolute steal for what you get.

I have no clue what people are talking about when it comes to the performance of this fragrance... this stuff lasts forever on skin. It is one that you can go anosmic to , but I sprayed it on the back of my hand 6 hours ago and it’s still very strong. Perhaps I got lucky with my batch code, but this smells almost identical to my Gucci PHI as well, same perfumer. Hands down the best cheap fragrance ever made.

stay away if you hate fairly priced dark woody masculines. I like it more than creeds royal cedar, or any other expensive cedar dominant scent i’ve tried thus far. whether or not thats bad taste, I don't care. The kind of fragrance people hype to your face and laugh at you for enjoying with their real friends. mo-ped- but it’s been a fave of mine since I smelled in on a coworker in 2016 so.. rip to me iguess

The perfumer(Michel Almairac) that made Gucci pour homme was interviewed by fragrantica a decade ago and he said that he sold the formula to Bentley and Bentley absolute is the exact same formula as Gucci pour homme. And then him and his son started a fragrance company and they used the same formula to make Papyrus oud with a slight tweak. So you can take that for whatever it's worth

People who saying this doesn’t performs please stop buying from eBay and Amazon.This has really good performance lasts 8+ hours with solid 4 hours of projection. One of best winter fall and rainy days fragrances.Raw masculine basic woody scent yet little bit mysterious. The only downside is you will fell bad because of the price is very low it feels like a steal.

UNREAL, one word - UNREAL. How Michel Almairac managed to smuggle the Gucci pour Homme formula 15 years later into a car company fragrance bottle is remarkable. This is easily the best oriental released in a decade and it proves miracles and integrity exist still. Gucci will be sorely pissed and, mind you, this will be highly addictive stuff.

The scent profile is nice. The projection and longevity seem to lack... so far. 1st wear, right out of the box. I HOPE it gets better. I'll put it away for a month or two and see if it gets any stronger. A lot of hype around this and Bentley Intense. I pulled the trigger on both due the price tag dropping under $30 for each. I'll be back.

This one I do like. Smells so much like Gucci Pour Homme 2003. I hear it is essentially the same formula but with a synthetic Oud Accord. And I do think it is synthetic. No way they put real Oud in this for less than $50. Smells great. The Oud adds some earthiness to it I think. Sits closer to my skin like Gucci Pour Homme 2003 did.
