Bentley For Men Silverlake

I can't compare this with anything from the AdG line, as I tend to prefer fragrances with watery notes to all-out aquatics (especially mega-popular all-out aquatics) and have therefore steered clear of AdG. Violet leaf is one of my favourite notes for both its watery and airy aspects, so I bought this blind. I love it. On me, it opens with a slightly metallic, mostly lemony-zesty bubble bath effect--kind of light blue--and as regards the general mood or atmosphere that it evokes or suits, it's a fresh, summery fragrance and therefore, for me, reminiscent of Versace L'Homme and Chanel Allure Homme Sport. It doesn't smell quite like either but it occupies a similar space. It's probably lighter than either, though--somewhere between those and the very light, minty-musky L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Eau Fraîche. There's nothing challenging about it--if there were, it might be just how lemony-fresh and musky it is--but I'm pretty sure there isn't meant to be. Anyway, though not unduly complicated, it's better-balanced and has more going on than many sportier citrus freshies. The violet leaf, definitely, and the musk, probably, lend it a kind of gentle misty quality, which works well with the cool mint. I can understand reviews to the effect that this is reminiscent of a fresh day on a Northern European lake or something similar. The name is indeed appropriate. Silverlake must be comparable to a host of fragrances that evoke the Mediterranean summer, but it is leaner and probably slightly greener than many, perhaps most. The performance is not exceptional but it's perfectly adequate. I don't know that a louder version of this would be as enjoyable or credible. This is pleasantly refreshing but knows not to try too hard. It's almost literally cooler than that.

One of my staples to wear in the office. I dunno how close it is to ADG Essenza as I never smell it, but I like this Bentley Silverlake way more than ADG Parfum 2024 I have, because it feels fresher and brighter. And I love the white musk dry down. White musk is one of cleanest notes in fragrance in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I also love ADG Parfum, but it has kinda slight dark aura (maybe the incense dry down) that makes it giving less "cheering effect" in the morning before going to work for long hours. Maybe the ADP EDP version is brighter, never tested it tho. As for Bentley, in the opening, the lemon and mint notes are sync without any harshness. In mid down, in my nose the lavender tend to be supporting role that pink pepper slightly dominant. Then the dry down, my most favourite part, white musk and woody notes give relaxing vibe, like approachable vibe, not like trying too hard telling people around "I smell good, right? Right???". So if compliment is what you are looking for, this is not the one. Like I said, this Bentley Silverlake give approachable aura imo. And as it is not attention grabbing fragrance, the projection is not that strong. I normally wear 3-4 sprays (1 in torso, 1 behind neck/ear, 1 lower neck, and 1 under collar of my shirts/Poloshirts) in the morning before I go to work at 7 am. Only first half an hour project like 1 m before it gives small bubble only for our personal space until around 3 hours before becoming akin scent that in my experience around 7 hours. Sometimes then I respray it 1 spray around 1 pm if I wanna smell it again. Considering price (I got it for around 22 Euro), scent profile, versatility and suitability for office wear, it is quite perfect in my opinion

I got this for my birthday recently, and I had it in the house three months prior, having finally seen it for sale in the UK after watching for it for about ten months. Was it worth the wait? Oh yes. I now have all six of the BFM range, having also got BFM Intense for my birthday. I never set out to collect the set; it happened simply by reading about them, waiting and watching for a good deal, and after about 14 months I have them all. Can I pick a favourite? No. I enjoy them all very much. They all smell delicious to me, and all smell like they would have cost 2-3 times more than what I paid for them, and they all have that well dressed vibe going for them, whether suited or smart casual. Siverlake is a shade lighter in intensity than the other five, but not weak on me, and it lasts into a soft woody resinous gently aquatic dry-down which is still obvious after eleven hours. My wife says she can still smell it in the room I am in as she enters, and adds that it is lovely in the air. Based on my collection, I would say it makes me think of what I would have if I crossed Lanvin's Oxygen by Alberto Morillas with BFM Azure, and added some more wood, just a little. I don't think it is particularly like Perry Ellis Red, though in that ball-park, PE Red being less aquatic. I have no experience of the ADG range. I'm seeing more of it from the dealers now, but the price has increased, averaging about £48 atm, so if you fancy it, hit the Buy-button. I would be surprised, a lot, if anyone was disappointed. Lalique has did it again with another delightful fragrance.

Score: 9.0/10 Bentley for Men Silverlake is a pleasant surprise: a "fresh aromatic" with a tasteful signature, far from oceanic clichés. Sophisticated, minimalist and modern, it is the ideal choice for the man looking for a clean perfume, but with identity. Its solid performance and the balance between freshness and elegance make it a wild card in the wardrobe of any perfume enthusiast.

I was extremely fortunate to pick this up a little over a year ago for just under $40US and that was an absolute steal for what one gets back then. I echo the same sentiments from many here. It has the ADG vibe going, almost Essenza like (which I own and Silverlake is not an exact copy of Essenza but, very close) with very good performance for an aquatic fresh fragrance. The quality is there as it has bits from the whole ADG line up in its make up. More of a mature vibe and not as youthful smelling as Profondo or Profondo Lights but, any age group from 18 to 80 can wear this easily. Fresh & clean smelling is always good regardless of age groupings. Unfortunately, the bandits and price skyrocket pimps of the fragrance world have put this stuff near 3 digit prices and is getting harder to find. Is it worth it for that significant of a price hike? Don't know as pricing is subjective and carries a very broad definition to all. One might be better off catching the new release of ADG Eau De Parfum for that kind of money. In the end, you do you but, if you can find Silverlake at a nice discount, pull the trigger....

At first sniff you immediately get a similarity to Acqua Di Gio Essenza, a fresh blast of citrus followed by a slightly aquatic, mineralic tinge that resembles tom ford's oud minerale. I get 6 to 8 hours of longevity on my skin, which is amazing for a summer fragrance. The sillage is nice about 3 to 5 ft scent bubble the first 2 to 3 hrs then skin scent the rest of the 8 hrs. Also leaves a nice scent trail in the air behind you. I like Silverlake so much I actually took my bottle of Essenza out of rotation to replace it with this. I find it to be far superior to Azure and in turn that makes this the best fresh fragrance Bentley produces at this time. Don't pass this one up you will regret it. Edit: After about 6 months with the fragrance I find less and less similarities to Adg, as my nose has become more accustomed to the floral aspects, I pick up a much more mineralic vibe similar to oud minerals which really sets it up as more of a twist on essenza than a true clone. Still a great buy, but not a true replacement for essenza, but hey nothing is...

I sprayed silverlake (left arm) and ADG Profumo (right arm), and had 3 different people compare and choose the smell they liked more. Every person immediately picked up on the fragrances smelling identical and one person questioned if I sprayed the same fragrance on each arm to mess with him. All three selected the fragrance on my right arm (ADG Profumo). After the smell test I told them the average price for both fragrances and they all agreed on this premise, the difference in smell is too little to pay the heftier price tag. (they would much rather buy Silverlake) That being said I plan on selling Silverlake and keeping Profumo, because although the difference is very slight and I like the opening of Silverlake more, the amberwood dry down is not as good as patchouli. (Owning both is redundant) I highly recommend this fragrance for the price point and is a great alternative to ADG Profumo.

Diddleydaddy6901234 I chose to keep Profumo because as I stated, the biggest difference(which is still minor) is that silverlake has an amberwood dry down and Profumo has a patchouli dry down. I don't mind forking an extra cost for one of my favorite fragrance notes. Owning both is redudant especially for big collectors because if you own over 100 fragrances(I use to, but sold most of my collection to focus on the fragrances I love the most) running through an entire bottle of any fragrance you own is really hard to do. For the price of Profumo and Silverlake(not as cheap as other bentley fragrances) the amount of money you save especially per wearing is extremely slim. Wear what you enjoy more and gives you great confidence. And as I ended my review, "I highly recommend this fragrance for the price point and is a great alternative to ADG Profumo."

I'm not going to focus on what makes Silverlake similar to other blue fragrances but on what sets it apart: 1. The beautiful violet leaf note. 2. It does not dry down to the boring soapy, white musk like so many others in this category. Those 2 qualities make Silverlake stand on its own. I could go on and on about the violet leaf note here. The other listed notes are there but it is the violet leaf that pulls it all together and never lets any of the others dominate at any stage. I woke up this morning, still getting whiffs of the fragrance on the back of my hand. an hour later I was tossing three of my "Blue" cheapies in the waste bin. I have the other popular Bentley's and while those are very good, with their signature papyrus and spice notes, this one goes to the front of the lineup. It is that good off my skin.

This has been on my radar for a few months, now the hype has died down I got a bottle under 30 bucks. On first wearing of 4 sprays I got 8 hours with it (still) radiating off my shirt, can't say on skin as sprayed my jumper. AdG with violet leaf and a little mint goes a long way, so much so I've just ordered another sub-30 buck bottle of this. Will update on wearing when the temps start heating up, but I don't see how anyone can stick their noses up to this.Mass appealing, fresh, lovely violet leaf twist and long lasting for an aquatic or even AdG DNA type cologne. NB: Check your bottle has the Lalique sticker and code on the bottom of the bottle as Silverlake seems to have been subject to fakes from the far east. A Beauty by Bentley so it's going to get a 9/10!

Anytime, any place, anywhere...., not Martini, but Bentley Silverlake. So many summer scents to choose from, this is a notch above. Fresh, clean, a bit ozonic. Uplifting, not soapy. Something Creed-ish in the background - musk or ambergris? Really good performance too. Well done again Bentley. 4/5 Update: this smells like original AdG lightly layered with TF's Oud Minerale. The former dominating straight away, the latter coming more to the fore in the deep drydown. OM has an almost photorealistic seaside smell (not beach, think cool weather, coastal). With AdG a rich, fresh, citrus. So the blend = citrus by the coast, which in turn projects a sort of uplifting, uber cleanliness. I'm really enjoying this and the high fragrantica ranking (> 4.4) seems deserved.

Very fresh. 'A breath of fresh air through mountain forests' description from Bentley's website is abolutely right. It's very crowd pleasing and yet unique enough to keep my interest. Everyone I asked for an opinion told me it's very good. This realese completely kills Bentely's Momentum collection's summer fragrances, especially Momentum Unlimited. Momentum Unlimited smells worse, has worse performance and is boring in comparision. Bentley Momentum has at least some white floral notes for it to stand out in the crowd. It also reminds me of Hermes H24 a little. Silverlake is more crowd pleasing, H24 more daring. I put it on winter only because it would be fun to remind everyone in a comfy office what time of a year it is. Overall 5/5

Quality fresh and aquatic fragrance on a budget! Produces a clean citrus and marine scent. The hints of spice from the pink pepper create an interesting balance. In regards to it smelling similar to Acqua di Gio, I have had a handful of people mistake it for such in a variety of settings. I will say that this doesn't always open pleasantly on everyone. For myself, the opening hasn't posed a problem but I have friends who this does not sit right with. This is incredibly versatile. I wear it to the gym, to work and during warm weather. However, I'd say the longevity and projection are on the more minimal side. In addition, the atomizer is quite poor. Overall, I'd give this one a 9 out of 10!

I bought this perfume in 2023 and didn’t pay any attention to it. I used it for a few days and then left it among the many fragrances I have. Today my dad wore it without me knowing and went out. When he came back, the scent was incredible—unique and very beautiful. I asked him which one it was, and he told me the one with the silver bottle. It really was Bentley. We always underestimate their perfumes. He even told me that someone asked him about his fragrance, and when my brother came home from work, he told him, “You smell so sexy, you devil.” Honestly, that’s what happened. So my advice is: if you find it, buy it immediately. The quality-to-price ratio is niche-level.

I bought 4 of the 6 Bentley for Men fragrances. • This one was slightly more expensive than the others, but it's the best, most wearable, and most appealing IMHO. • It's quite fresh and pleasing, 100% blind buy safe, and office safe. Yes, I will buy this one again. • Performance is average (~4-5h), and you might want/need to reapply after lunch. July 2026 update: • I've had this bottle for ~9 months, now. • Performance has improved, especially in terms of longevity. Projection and sillage remain average. • The scent has also improved; you can noticeably perceive more aquatic notes, and it's even fresher now.

Opened the bottle today and wearing it for the past 7 hours with many many many repeated sprays because it doesn't last on my skin or cloth. It smells like ADG Profondo and that genre, but sadly kind of bland. I understand it's a summer easy reach type of fragrance, but it just doesn't bring any smile or any excitement, it's just ...bland. Those around me didn't acknowledge it either, it's just bland. I mentioned bland 3 times already because it's just... bland. haha. To summarize my take on this is that it smells like a $20 easy reach fragrance that smells pleasant and nothing more.

While i haven't smelled Essenza before, I do have Profumo, and this definitely has ADG vibes, I would say it's very similar to ADG Profumo. I had them in each arm and the only noticeable difference is that incense note in Profumo that gives it a little more intensity. But overall I’m loving Silverlake and i think it’s worth buying if you want a cheap alternative to ADG Profumo, i got it for like 37~38 $ Performance: A solid 8+ hours on skin, and much longer on clothes. Sillage is moderate, but it's acceptable for the price. Maybe i’ll edit my review after a full wear.

Ok, yes this is similar to ADG it has that DNA, but in my humble opinion it shines and out performs definitely the OG-ADG, so if you like this smell you need this one! This one is also highly rated on Fragrantica. Nearly 4.4 that’s higher than most here, what does this mean a lot of people like it. But fragrance can also be personal due to skin chemistry and what is pleasing to you and those around you. I also believe this is more on the mature side and younger guys may say it smells like Dad, but hey if you like it wear it! Blind buy? Yes if you like ADG!

Gorgeous scent and a great addition from Bentley. Bentley for men is becoming one of favourite lines as I own intense, absolute and now silverlake. This is very different compared to the other scents but is a beautiful fragrance. Super fresh and is very similar to Missoni wave. I would say if you like Missoni wave, you'll definitely like this fragrance as it's very fresh with a green nuance. Longevity and projection about the same as the Missoni but I would definitely recommend this fragrance to anyone looking for a cheap and fresh warm weather scent.

One of my new go-to daily fragrances. It opens with a nice fresh citrus with a slightly spicy undertone. Quickly you get some lavender and it dries to a wonderful musky, slightly spicy yet fresh smelling scent. (It does remind me of another favorite ... Salvatore Ferragamo Aqua Essenziale but has that extra spiciness that makes it shine even more.) I get lots of compliments on this scent but I do have to freshen it up after 4-5 hours. This is a great scent for most ages and for most seasons ... perhaps not the best choice for a cold Winter climate.
