Bentley for Men

Late to the party. I picked this up for $19.5 from my local notino on sale (after conversion). How is this even possible for $19 ?!?!?! This IS SO GOOD. I much prefer this to the Intense flanker. So much more wearable. There is something very calming and classy the more this stays on my skin. The woody and leather quality in the dry-down is very soothing and classy at the same time. What a gem! Didn't expect this after all the buzz on Intense. The rum note is not pungent and sweet like I was worried it might be. It's just right. Layering this with Molecule 01 does wonders for projection and longevity on my skin. It's good to begin with but I'm experiencing both lengthened and heightened projection for additional ~90 minutes. Depending on weather. But then again Molecule 01 works on my skin as a standalone - I know that's not the case for everyone. A reason why I prefer this to the Intense is because Intense can very easily fall apart like another of Nathalie Lorson's creations - Lalique Encre Noire a L'Extreme. Hope I can explain: EN a L'Extreme starts out great but after 3 hours it falls apart to a very nasty mix of rotten veggies and dirty butt. YUK! It does the same on skin as well as on clothing regardless. All of the good things evaporate leaving this horrible mixture behind. Now, Bentley for Men Intense doesn't do that on skin - unless you wash it! When I tested Intense I initially sprayed on my wrist and accidentally ran it under running water. I was greeted by that same rotten veggies + dirty butt smells EN L'Extreme falls apart to. All the good stuff was washed away. If left on skin untouched it's OK. But that also means that if you take a shower before Intense is completely gone, you better make sure you scrub wherever you've sprayed to perfection. If left on clothing (where it lasts for ages) it reaches that state about 2 days afterwards. It's just disgusting. The regular Bentley for Men doesn't suffer from these issues and I much prefer the profile. Considering price and what this is - Love from me :)

Unexpectedly good. I would even say, as for a "car fragrances" it is a mind blowing good! Starting from bottle, to smell, longevity, sillage - everything is truly classy and outstanding, easily beating expectations! This is definitely not unisex fragrance, all man - sophisticated and well educated macho man! But without being offensively aggressive or suffocating (as most macho scents tend to be). For me opening dominates by bay leaf, but bergamot and pepper being right behind it, with cinnamon starting emerging as soon as 5 min after spraying and being present almost all the way to the end. Within 10-15 min rum start emerging too together with woody accord. All it still staying in the mix after base notes start to appear, with exception of bergamot than dissipates completely within 2 hours (which is still very long time for bergamot to be present). Scent slightly changes all the time first 4 hours, but at the same time core of it staying consistent and very pleasant all the time. After 4 hours it is bit less spicy, but still aromatic - sweeter, buzzier and more leathery. It starts more like daytime perfume for colder time of the year and ends up like a night time scent. Which is great taking into consideration that it lasts and projects pretty well for about 10-14 hours! With about another 4-6 hours as a skin scent. I would say it is among longest lasting not cloying or suffocating inexpensive perfumes for men out there, that are still in production now. Scent 8 of 10 Longevity 9 of 10 Projection 8 of 10 Silage 7 of 10 Versatility 7 of 10 Originality 5 of 10 Quality for price 9 of 10 First "caf fragrance" I will definitely buy again! I also think it is very safe buy for anyone who like this group of scents. Zero controversy is in here.

One of my absolute favourites ever; and just discovered this year as a blind buy. It smells gorgeous, I did not think I would say that about a fragrance, and I now have a few others I think the same of. It smells expensive, rich, generous. it takes me for a trip in a very nice car past interesting and beautiful places. I drive a lovely old Jaguar which, to my mind, is a poor man's Bentley - a Continental GT if you please. 2021 - my year of fragrances, having bought more frags in one year than over all my years combined so far, and I am not young any more. A year of lovely discoveries, several now owned and several more ear-marked for next year. I'm very happy to have found this useful website, thanks to which I have made lots of successful blind buys. My thanks also, very much, to all who have shared their thoughts and experiences of the thousands of fine smelling juices. PS: I already own Bentley Absolute but I have not used it yet; it and some others are put away for my birthday in December, and some for Christmas. Also in-waiting and unsmelled, is a bottle of vintage Jaguar Performance (this shall be my birthday scent), Others are Baldessarini Ultimate, Milestone by Armaf, Mercedes Benz Club Black, Quorum by Puig, and Lalique Pour Homme Lion - well, when the price is right you go for them. All of these are blind buys I am looking forward to opening and enjoying - fragrant times are ahead. I suspect the Benz Club Black will be shared with my wife; she adores vanilla in scents.

Bentley for Men smells like the idea of adulthood you had when you were twelve. That half-formed fantasy of mahogany offices, amber liquor, and being the kind of person who knows what cufflinks are actually for. It opens big and boozy with syrupy rum and cinnamon. The kind of warmth that hits before you even know you’re in it. Like the first fifteen minutes of a dinner party where everyone’s still performing their best selves. Then it exhales, softens into something more reflective. Wood, leather, a faint sweetness that feels almost like remorse for its own bravado. It’s a warm, spiced inhale, the scent equivalent of sinking back into a leather armchair that’s seen better men than you, and somehow remembers every one of them. There’s something deeply comforting in how unapologetically grown it smells, like a handshake that’s just a little too firm. It’s not trying to seduce you, it’s trying to reassure you that you can still be composed, deliberate, adult, even when your life feels like a series of browser tabs left open too long. It lingers for hours, maybe longer than it should, but so do the good things like the aftertaste of a good drink, the last line of a good book, the faint echo of competence. If I had old money this would be my signature scent.

So I, like many others, got sucked into the hype for Bentley for Men Intense at the beginning of my fragrance journey. It's still commonly mentioned as being "niche quality" and one of the best value fragrances on the market - neither of which I can disagree with. Now, years later, I find myself with the original Bentley for Men. And I think I like it even more. This is, as everyone else has already mentioned below, a boozy, very masculine concoction. The rum note is very strong and no-holds-barred right from the beginning, but the leather and benzoin combine with it to make the fragrance smooth and very pleasant. It's a potent fragrance, but nowhere near cloying; it's quite well-rounded. This leads into why I prefer this original Bentley to the Intense flanker. I just find it to be easier to wear; it's less dry than the Intense and a tad sweeter. I could see this being worn in colder days of spring or at nights, whereas the Intense strikes me strictly as a winter fragrance. Is it redundant to own both? Probably. But if you own neither, I would honestly try this one first. It's classy, masculine, and a great performer. P.S. Nathalie Lorson doesn't miss.

Opens with a loud (slightly harsh) masculine dose of woody notes and something slightly spicy. The middle of this fragrance is definitely smoother than the opening and lays out a nice warm, semi-sweet tobacco and leather with honey combination. Definitely still woody with some mild spice. I honestly wouldn't pick out boozy notes on my own but I do get an oak-barrel-aged effect from this similar to a rum or whiskey that has been aged 12 years as opposed to 3 years. This is interesting because of how much "boozy" is mentioned (to cite rum is to say there are tropical fruit, dark sugar, and even "funky" terroir tones). Dry down to me is a fantastic blend of ambery sweet woody tobacco with leather. Hints of patchouli, animalic undertones, and some balsamic/spice notes add to the impressive blend. Performs well. This reminds me of my memory of what Michael Kors for Men smells like -- a fragrance which I used to wear all the time but unfortunately seems hard to find now so I am happy to own Bentley for Men. Over all, I enjoy the dry-down a lot after the somewhat harsh opening. Very masculine, very brown, very warm. It's just such a good blend for the price.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 109 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased August 2019 I almost had this in May 2017 but it got lost in the mail, obviously long before my Intense decant that I've talked about. Suppose I'm ahead of my own time. Because it's a fantastic scent. Much more palatable and doesn't really cloy like the Intense bottle. I most likely will skip on that because my 2023 bottle of Absolute luckily smells proper, I'll talk about that on its own review. I just don't want to potentially waste money on something I already have, like this normal Bentley, and my Intense decant from. For fuck sake it's very similar to Intense. I wore Bentley a lot. Even 24 Go Dark pre-dates this bottle by one or two years. Would love to try that one. On these notes I don't get any The One. Bentley is almost a modern classic. Only the test of time will tell. Edit: lol 24 Go Dark doesn't exist anymore, but Bentley is a modern bay rum. Batch: 14G0912 from July 2014. 110 review on Bijan Men posted in 2019.

Certainly more wearable than the Intense version, but definitely not for everyone. I really enjoy wearing this, but I can certainly understand why someone else would not. I think the trick is knowing that this is a boozy and inexpensive fragrance. If you’re okay with those two elements and set your expectations accordingly, you should enjoy this perfume. Still, definitely not blind-buy worthy. Also, re @Claviator’s comment below that this is a feminine fragrance: I can see why someone that isn’t familiarized with the most modern perfumery targeted for men would say that, but this is definitely NOT a feminine fragrance. I can visualize myself thinking this when I started this fragrance hobby a few years back. But regardless, that is very valid perception, so do keep that in mind. On this note, anyone that likes this fragrance should wear it regardless of gender identity if they like it. Namaste 🙏🏽

I applied liberally on my chest, and on the insides of my wrists and forearms, three times, allowing each coat to dry before reapplying. When still wet and a few moments beyond, there is a gorgeous boozy scent. A spiced dark rum with plenty of sweet notes, minus the alcoholic burn. Over the next hour, the rum rumbles away, and bay leaf comes out, that juicy kind of note that fresh bay leaf exudes when crushed. Woods stand up and give lots of structure, edged with the bergamot. I’m sat in a light sent bubble, not overpowering or uncomfortable. To get the individual notes, I need to lean in on my wrists, but mostly can get everything from a couple of inches. After three hours the rum and bay have pulled back, revealing a more restrained and sparse woody framing. The scent fades in a linear fashion, and was more or less gone after 8 hours, leaving only a faint burnt rubber note on the skin.

I'm very impressed with this one. Bentley for Men is everything I hoped for: a classy fragrance for cooler weather with a boozy note. It's not overly sweet or dark, but somewhere in the middle. I keep catching whiffs of it, so I don't get nose blind to it. Lasts a long time on my skin. I found a full 100ml tester for $15. I'm really happy right now. This might bump Bvlgari Man in Black to 2nd place for my top winter fragrance (MIB has the prominent pipe tobacco, where Bentley FM has the rum note). I haven't yet tried Bentley for Men Intense, which gets all the hype. Plus, the bottle is beautiful and good quality. I'll continue to wear this in April while it's still cool out, and look forward to rocking this again when October rolls around.

The original, and often forgotten to it's Intense flanker, especially with Youtube reviewers, but make no mistake this is just as equally impressive as the Intense version. It's a boozy, cinnamon and leather fragrance, sweetened just enough, all on a woody back bone. It's smells of sophistication and money...but that's just it, it doesn't cost the money it smells like. Bang for buck, you can't go wrong. Hard to believe it's come out of a car manufacturer, but then again this is what a Bentley driver would smell like. So how different is it from the Intense version - there a slight nuances between the two, but for the most part they are the same. So unless you are a collector, get samples of both and decide which strikes the chord with you.

Although I always tend to like "intense" version of perfumes, but with Bentley it was different. I got a 2ml sample of the intense version weeks ago, been smelling it every now and then once on skin and cloth, I loved it until I tried this. It has more than one thing in common with Amouage "Jubilation XXV" the beginning is not as lively or complex as Jubilation but the dry down is somehow more than 80% similar and it actually hard to comprehend that Bentley doesn't have "incense" as a note in it. Try before buy, it doesn't suit everyone but I can say that this is a quality niche perfume packed in a very decent price. Longevity is easily beyond 6 hours, sillage I can't say a lot about it as I tried it only on one arm.

I own a bottle of Bentley for Men Intense and I just gave my dad a bottle of the normal Bentley for Men for his birthday. I must say there is quite a difference between the two. The normal EDT is so much more wearable than the intense version and has a fantastic dry down whereas the intense version makes me smell like a bottle of rum - I have been asked on multiple occasions with BFM intense if I had been drinking. Whilst I really like both, I think for day to day use the EDT is a lot better and still appears and smells luxurious. I will be buying a bottle of the EDT for myself to add to the collection. If you want to make a statement, go for Intense however.

The bottle is beautiful, very masculine as is the scent. If you are missing m7, test this. I have a sample of the original m7 and this is very similar compared side by side. A very pleasing and cool scent. A retro but not dated vibe. Strong rum, sweet profile and leathery smoke enveloping it. Comforting, big scent, otherwordly and mature. I think I like CH Men Privé more, but this is in the same arena, or same "bar" if you will. If you test this, you need to wait for the dry down. The opening is really strong and not so pleasant but it settles into something good after 30 minutes. A great gentleman fragrance. If you dare to smell bold.

I was going to try and be neutral in reviewing "Bentley for men" but I just have to say it, I think it is a truely gorgeous fragrance. Whilst not the most original fragrance in the world (the "oriental spicy" genre has some really good scents) it is very well made, performs as expected, and has a real sense of class about it. For this price point this scent is an absolute steal in my book. Ive received compliments wearing this, it's Masculine and leans towards mature users but Younger guys could pull it off too as long as they are mannered and relatable. Despite its young age I foresee it becoming a classic in future years.

Very good product for a lover of classic cars as well as classic, yet modern contemporary scents. It does remind me in the first instant of Amouage's "Jubilation XXV" but it is far less dense and more fleeting, lighter, thanks to a breezy and boozy rum note. With me it dries down relatively fast into this breezy, 'musky' rum note that could be seen as an analogy for the quick acceleration of the very car. Imagine a silver convertible on a crisp summer evening around 5pm by the coast. (The cooler 'brother' "Azure" is the cold morning equivalent). Very pleasant and gorgeously packaged product at a very good price.

Bay leaf, booze, spices and woods... This is a handsome scent that you can snag for under $30 USD on discounters. I don't picture it on a younger guy. It feels masculine, mature, accomplished. I think my beard gains volume when I smell it. Good for office, formal, casual.. Definitely not a sporty scent. Best in cooler weather, but it would probably be fine for any time of year if you prefer these types of scents to freshies and blues in hot weather, but it would probably feel pretty heavy in the middle of summer unless you're in an air-conditioned environment.

when a pirate become a gentleman Corsair. well this smell like rum bayleaf and light leather but all very smooth soft and airy, just like a corsair comin back to london after a caribbean expedition. the juice last a lot on skin easy 6hrs pumping, i dont smell a big evolution i mean theres not big difference from opening and drydown, when he sail away he just fade,on clothes probably you have to wash away. Not good with heat but a champion in cold temps. price quality ratio is impressive high, you can buy a bottle for 20-25€ and everything its high quality

Opening with a spicy bay leaf mature scent, really put me off when I first sprayed it. However, after 2-3 minutes, that fades away fast, and leaves a beautiful sweet rum, cinnamon and soft brown leather scent—classy, elegant and subtle, like a rich gentleman. It is an intimate scent, lasts on me all day, I enjoy whiffs of it in the air around me. However, the projection is bad, people have to be really close to you to smell it but I wear it for myself, I love this scent more than the intense version, which is too mature and strong for a young man like me.

It's a THUMBS UP from me. The Bentley car company started over 100 years ago. So it should come as no surprise that their first fragrance is based on the very old recipe for Bay Rum aftershave. Bentley for Men omits the brash spices of a traditional Jamaican bay rum mix and adds elegance to the formula. This is a fragrance for those gents that like to be well dressed and smell the part. I think Bentley for Men is a better choice than the Intense version as it is more in keeping with the bay rum brief that the perfumers would have been given.

A definitive masterpiece just like it's younger brother the intense version.The two are strikingly similar the main difference being the Intense is darker and deeper with the added incense.Whilst in contrast the once is actually more pronounced and is sweeter/brighter in my estimation with an almost juicy berry like accord which I'd likely why it gets the jubilation comparison.In any case this is an elite creation which is peanuts for the price. Honestly goes to show you you can build a fantastic collection for a moderate price.

Batch f0d22 from April 2022. Opens as boozy as it gets, then turns into woody and smoky with hints of bear sweat, like a booze festival rocking a California Forest, the smell of joy at the start of that cliche horror movie. Bay Leaf has a central part as well, Bay Rhum inspired for sure. If you like that sort of scent profile, you will rock this like a modern pirate. Update 11/21/2025: Been wearing this for the last 4 months and it is one of my favorites, this has a lot of character and exudes masculinity

One of the very few cases where the edt is really a lighter Version of the edp Intense... A little less acholic and a little more just the one pint... Niche, Niche, Niche... Not your usual Dior Sauvage... Still a fair amount of booze for the first couple of hours, just not as much as intense... It then goes in the same direction into a lovely creamy patchouli wood... Very good... Temperature outside decides which one you reach for... edt better suited for office... Very Good...

Mmm...beautiful niche quality spicy rum in a perfume bottle...love it. The intense version gets all the love (and I also love that) but I actually find this a bit more wearable...and better. As El Caballo Blanco below mentions, the Intense version is amped up on incense (and spices and is a bit rougher around the edges)...this is perfectly blended and the rum note really shines together with the smooth leather. Smells mature, luxurious and expensive. Insane value for money.

I'm just sniffing it on my arm for the first time. It's gorgeous leather, patchouli, smokey woods, and of course, rum. My Dad loved it also. Sadly I already bought some winter frags, but this will definitely be in my collection next time! What a masterpiece! Leans 60-70% traditionally masculine imo, and it doesn't have that Head-and-shoulders shower gel vibe. The notes are very realistic and aromatic. I'm a woman, and will buy it for both me and my Dad lol.

Bentley for Men EdT is, in my opinion, the better choice compared to Bentley for Men Intense. I’ve owned the Intense for about two years, but I rarely reach for it since it feels a bit too heavy and dense for my taste. I recently picked up the EdT, and it keeps the same elegance and classic character while coming across as more wearable and easier to pull off in different settings. For me, its versatility makes it the clear preference.

I would pick this 10 times over the Intense version. They smell pretty similar to each other but this has a more pronounced Rum and woods, a little bit less leather and less spices and less of that ''ashy'' or ''old man'' type of vibe present in the Intense versions opening. It doesn't last as long but the smell is very, very good. I would honestly believe if this, Absolute or Intense would be niche fragrances.

This is a great winter time fragrance (or late autumn and early spring as well if you live up North). It's spicy and woody. Not a beast mode at all, I guess the Intense version is more of that. My only complaint is my nose gets accustomed to this smell so fast, in about couple days I can barely smell anything. Then I need to take a break and a week later I can smell it fine again.

I spray this all over my naked body, just saying. I will do it again too! You can't stop me! Nobody can stop me! I fell in love with this at first spray. The rum, the leather, the woody notes, all works together perfectly. Buy it , you will not regret it , in my humble opinion. The only way it could have been improved upon is if they would have added a tobacco note to it.

This is will knock your socks off... literally. Everything will be being ripped off you! A very sexy, and uber masculine scent, that reminds me of the lighter end of the Ouds. A colleague smelled it on me, and just grunted 'MAN!'. Definitely one to seek out for those that like the headier end of the male scents. Fantastic, and may well become a very popular classic.

I said in my first review it was too similar to the Intense, but I must add it has its own vibe. They are 80% the same, but this has a more gentle vibe due to the lack of smoky notes. Intense is the popular choice, but this is world-class and very pleasing. You should consider this and sample it. You might prefer it to Bentley Men Intense.

This makes me think of Amouage Opus VI (in sillage trail, not up close). I really like the scent. There’s definitely good value here and it’s relatively easy to wear. And I am only saying relatively because leather based scents are known for being sort of hit or miss fragrances. For me it’s a solid addition to my line up.

This is the best smelling rum accord I have smelt. This pairs very well with Nishane- Fan Your Flames. I have gotten many compliments paired together. Yes the intense is stronger, but I found what makes it stronger is the added incense note and it over powers the rum. Bentley for man EDT is a superior rum scent

I've just done a direct comparison with Intense and normal Bentleys at same time on either hand. They are both the same potency. The normal Bentley dries down to a more boozy smell. The intense has a dryer and more woody dry down. Both of them are lovely. But, I have to say, this version just shades it.

I love this. I smell like I've just crawled in from a day of drinking in a smokey pub. It's definitely a proper mans fragrance. I get boozy rum mixed with smokey leather. I chose this over intense for my first foray in to Bentley fragrances due to it being more flexible than Intense in milder times

Very impressed with this. Totally unisex perfume. If you are a woman, please give it a sniff, if you can, or buy a decant. You will see it's very "friendly" and charming. I smell the booziness, the woodiness. It is perfect to wear on a morose and grey autumn day and in winter.

If we change the bottle and brand name to niche brand name , I believe people will pay 3 to 4 times the current price .. This fragrance is for bold responsible men . Great for autumn and winter nights , official occasion and cigar lounge !!

A more usable version of intense, without the incense note, I found it even better than bentley intense, this one is not so polarizing and smells more of rum and leather than the flanker intense which is more incense and woods

Warm, spicy, and sweet, much sweeter than the intense, definitely still in Idole by Lubin territory. Arms' length sillage, lingers around all day for hours. Perfect for autumn & winter, and those particularly cool spring days.

A boozy soft manly brew. I really like it, but I bought both Bentley for Men Intense and this. You do not need both. There is not enough differentiation to need both. I actually prefer this to the Intense version.

Same fragrance as the intense minus the incense, but also I sprayed one of each hand, and noticed the intense is by far more sweeter with the rum. Both are must haves in any collection

Gorgeous - one of the booziest perfumes I have tried. if you like a rum note - try this gem. In my opinion it's the nicest Bentley - but only just.

Got this a few days ago. I don't know what to say, it is addictive, and it does last long. Beautiful fragrance and not many people use it.

Bentley for Men Intense certainly gets the most attention, leaving the original almost the forgotten fragrance. But for the price, it's just a steal. Paid £23 for Bentley for Men, and it's on the level of niche quality. Don't think the projection is a slouch because it's not the intense version, it projects very well for the first few hours, and lasts about 8+ hours on my skin. The opening is masculine, spicey, smooth, boozy, and warm. The intense is more smokey, woody, and stronger on the leather. Bentley for Men is more versatile and wearable than the intense because the intense version can be a bit too much. Is it redundant to own both? I see different uses for them. The answer is simple if you are looking for one. If you prefer smooth, spicey, warm, and boozy: Bentley for Men if you prefer rougher, smokey, stronger leather and woods: Bentley for Men Intense (but only suitable for in the coldest weathers) How I see using Bentley for Men: Fall and Winter daily use / Casual / Dates / Family Gatherings / Dressed up and dressed down / Evenings out / Parties / Three Words to Describe Bentley For Men: Masculine / Smooth / Boozy This is a must-have for anybody. Hardcore collector, someone starting out or you only want a small number of fragrances. Bentley For Men is awesome if you are looking for a smooth, warm, boozy, and spicey masculine fragrance. IMO the better choice than the intense version. By all means, check out both but don't overlook the original as so many have done. But in general, we are faced with something sweet.Something that sits very well on the skin and play Nthaysh o'clock we feel on the skin . A friend liked it when I was my immediate.Was when I realized the power of the player and his permanence and again a few days later I got another one for myself . Intense version is very similar . But I think it is a little sweeter version of Intense Sillage more. I see something worthwhile. The brand also comes glasses account of its strong points .
