Beso Canalla

A very realistic although very burnt Toffee. An Adults only Caramel.Great longevity and moderate silage.Not entirely linear, A little animalic in the dry down.

A smoky woody masculine burnt sugar with a metallic accord throwing it off anything that could be considered "gourmand" and giving it a real edge. This is no juvenile sugary caramel, its sweetness almost feels off-putting, like burnt sugar on pennies +sandalwood, amber, patchouli. Though it does come off "masculine" on its own, I wouldn't see it as taking away from ones femininity, a fem person could rock this for sure. It's more "sharp & edgy" than "manly". I find the name to be very accurate, this does feel like a seductive baddie perfume.

A fragrance that blends elegance, allure, and serenity... opening with the refreshing whispers of bergamot and lavender, embraced by the warmth of saffron and the sweetness of neroli. At its heart, a sugary floral touch weaves a soft thread connecting the opening to a rich base of sandalwood and amber, elevated by the boldness of patchouli leaves. Perfect for refined daily wear, formal meetings, and shining in warm evenings and the elegance of winter.

I feel like the above notes pyramid is off. To me, Canalla starts smelling like spicy, fruity rum(rum, cinnamon, dried prunes). The dry down is spicy(cinnamon), woody, ambery. The opening and mid are the best part. The dry down is less interesting, and smells designer-ish. I guess most people will call it a "cosy", winter scent. Will I buy it? No. It's not creative or original enough, and most certainly overpriced.

My experience of this is so different to everyone else’s, I think perhaps the tester was a bit old. I got a strong but not unpleasant smell of birch tar - like woodsmoke that totally dominated the opening. I was looking for a great smoky perfume all winter, but this leans a bit too masculine for me. The floral notes barely get a look in- except to give a slight powdery dusting over the smoke. There is some sweetness and I can see what people mean by burnt toffee, but I mostly get burned wood. This lingers unchanging for ages, then in the drydown I most definitely detect oud - strong and dry, clean oud which I love. That is pretty much all I get in the base. So to sum it up - smoky birch with gentle clouds of slightly sweet powder turning to wafts of delicious oud. I would not buy this though - not interesting enough.

The right amount of saffron - not overdone and sickly. I thought the wood quite dry for a sandalwood, like there might be some Virginian cedarwood in the sandalwood accord (like pencil shavings). Powdery heliotrope - tick. Sweet and ambery. I find it hard to detect the other top notes - definitely hidden behind the saffron. I have a problem with some oriental fragrances, but this is good, but a like rather than a love. I think it's unisex - dark and masculine, but powdery. I have returned to this review over a year later after purchasing a bottle. I agree with much I have said above, but rate this now as a love rather than a like. My second favourite fragrance of all time after rausch. Might be too on your face for some, lives up to it's name, which I've variously heard translated as "rascal" or "dangerous kiss" ???

To me this is more of a Christmas scent than a Tropical Beach Suntan scent. I bought a full bottle/blind buy. To me, it smells like freshly baked Cookies, Pies, and Cakes in the kitchen with a roaring fire going in the living room fire place. And.. the House is filled with lights, decorations, a real Christmas tree, and people. If I want to make it more of a "Summer Scent" I will just layer it with Sol de Jinero 62 Body Spray and that does the trick.

Unlike the others I tried from this brand, it was a disappointment, I don't smell anything other than patchouli sandalwood and amber, nothing else!

I feel like it's a very masculine scent, or maybe I wish more men smelt like this... Warm sweet amber and a little salty sweat...

Very nice pleasant fragrance- amber gourmand, smooth and not too heavy! a sweet sugared amber but not too sweet- 7.5/10
