Cé Noir

Updated 5/18 - just purchased a second bottle of this, which I will use more sparingly as I blew through almost the entire bottle in around 3 months...! I’m surprised no one has commented on the bait and switch in the notes here — when the bottle arrived, I was shocked to see white patchouli listed in the base notes (which the website still does not reflect). Having felt comfortable blind-buying this specifically because patch was NOT included, I was so disappointed I didn’t even smell it the first day I opened the box. Even when patchouli is well blended, I get a weird “fuzzy” smell that I find nearly impossible to shake. So, while this did initially have a hint of that, I pushed past (non-refundable blind buy and all) and got complemented on it the first day I wore it. I liked the scent but was still bummed - mentally couldn’t get past that I had been duped into buying a patchouli perfume. Well, fast forward a couple of months and this has become my go-to — I’ve already used up over a quarter of the bottle. The perfume is huge, and people can smell you from six feet away with just a few sprays. I absolutely hate how in every perfume ad on IG/TT, they say the same thing, that they’ve gotten the most complements on this perfume, etc. For me, this is actually true with Ce Noir - it wears incredibly well on me, longevity is great, and I want to smell like this for as long as possible. On me, the honey and clementine mix to form this deep sweetness, and the rose and jasmine mix in to give it this floral backbone, and the amber and white patchouli give this beautiful warm depth. Rihanna’s Fenty is listed alongside this as “people who like this also like” and that’s hands-down one of my least favorite perfumes I have ever smelled —with Kilian’s Angels Share close behind. BR540 is pretty high up on “reminds me of” and this shares 0 similarity — no idea why people would link them together.

Lo and behold, Cé Noir is here and I can finally share my thoughts on this fragrance. First off, I am in LOVE with the bottle! The bottle having a base/holder reminds me of Ariana Grande's fragrances. It's very cute and extra lol. Upon first spray, this was very pleasing to my nose. I get a blend of Rose and Clementine, sweetened by Honey. This is kind of reminiscent of the Rose & Citrus in Rihanna's Fenty fragrance, but better. A few people compared it to Mancera's Roses Vanille, and I kind of understand why. There are elements of both fragrances in Cé Noir, but it doesn't smell identical to either fragrance. As this fragrance settles on my skin, the Myrrh and Amber accompany this composition, making it warm and slightly boozy. For some strange reason, it reminds me of Angel Shares' warm, spicy base, minus the cinnamon apple pie. But it works so well with Cé Noir and kind of helps give the fragrance its own identity. What surprised me the most is that I don't really get much Jasmine. The warm, Ambery Rose, Clementine, and Honey kind of runs the show through its entire duration all the way to the dry down. Cé Noir pulled about 6 hours of wear on my skin, which is pretty decent. The projection is very moderate. It radiates past arms length reach for almost 2 hours before it becomes more intimate. NOW, the big question is, is this fragrance worth 160+? To me, absolutely not! Overall, it's a very well composed fragrance with great packaging and decent performance; I'm really fond of it, but this fragrance doesn't bring anything scent, packaging and performance wise to be that expensive. But do I regret my purchase? Not at all. I feel like Cé Noir is what I hoped the Fenty fragrance would smell like. It's alluring, elegant, gentle and sexy. So, I will definitely enjoy and treasure this fragrance while it's in my collection. Scent: 8/10 Packaging: 8/10 Performance: 7/10

Opens with a splash of clementine and definitely get the honey. Honey is most dominant to me, followed by rose which quickly reveals itself. I dont pick up the jasmine but I believe its there, it's blended in nicely. It has a warm fuzzy ambery/myrrh base. Ce Noir reminds me of being hugged by a woman as a kid lol, don't know why. But it has this cozyness and comfort which feels safe, sweet, and sensual. To be honest, I haven't worn it more than twice since I got it 4 months ago. Perhaps feels too safe and intimate for me but I'll still be keeping it as I do think it's beautiful. Won't repurchase though. I haven't done a trial with someone to tell me if they can still smell it on me hours later, but I dont feel like it lasts as long as I'd like for the price (could be wrong). Maybe 4 hours. I also got a lil Delina hint when I first smelled it, but it really is not like the Delinas at all. It's just the rose. As a big B fan.. it does smell like something she would make but I don't feel it suits the marketing. I love the bottle but the silver doesnt match how it smells and feels (not really relevant but oh well - a gold bottle would've been cute)

Setting a wilting rose soaked in liqueur aflame then dousing it in honey.. a boozy witchy night out in the dead of winter- an unyielding and narcotic concoction... This is a behemoth and kind of beats your a** upon first inspection. Monstrous silage, you cannot douse this on yourself like an average celebrity perfume! This will knock you on the head if you treat it like a body mist, and for good reason. Like rose infused honey, it's extremely sticky, warm, and sharp. The myrrh and amber provide an understated incense-spicy undertone that confounds and allures, spray delicately! You are rewarded for your patience as it dissolves and fizzes into a quiet vision of a sweet aromatic liqueur. I think this scent demands to be utilized exclusively in cold nights lacing the insides of a coat heading to an intimate and/or romantic setting personally. It's hypnotic, luxurious, and extremely inebriating- definitely NOT for going out to a crowded sweaty bar or in the workplace. Time and place! This smell reminds me of a nostalgic and well crafted cocktail I've enjoyed a long time ago, now crave to have again, but is lost on me. What a shame..

Presentation is aces, the box wrapped in a mirrored paper sleeve was sturdy, almost like unboxing an expensive electronic device. The vessel called back to 30-40s era perfumes, the Guerlains and Schiaparellis with their rococo intricacy in form factor but as an obvious love letter to art deco. The metal (probably) atomizer sits neatly within a slick glossy plastic holder that fools the eye with consistency. I hope they're planning on selling refills. There's a clever amber tinted window into the atomizer to see how much of your 50 ml you've run through. The scent is a rose and honey that borders being a gourmand, brightened by citrus. If you know Fenty's selfsame perfume: it is similar with a less heavy rose, Cé Noir is thinner but with the same syruped floral effect. If you know Lush's Rose Jam scent: Cé Noir vibrates at the same frequency, with more amber and less citrus - to my nose less Geraniol rose, no geranium. It has a strong, punchy, imposing first 2 hours and then it settles into mellow close skin contact all day floral. Gorgeous high femme.

Not gonna lie, I'm a big Beyoncé fan. So I've got Heat, Heat Wild Orchid, Pulse and Rise but the only one that I love is Heat because it's deliciously warm. When she announced that she's releasing this perfume with three of my fave notes: Rose, Jasmine and Amber; I promised myself that I will find a way to get it eventhough it's not shipping to Indonesia. My Cé Noir has finally arrived, I must say I'm really impressed with the silver box & bottle look expensive and extra... Very much in tune with her Renaissance era vibe. Now let's get into the scent... I think Cé Noir is very pleasing, it will be well-received by the general crowd. Upon initial spray, I can smell a sweet honey with a little hint of fresh clementine then then the rose comes out, blending beautifully with amber in the end. Unfortunately I don't really get the jasmine scent, my guess is it's overpowered by the rose note. I tried using the scent during my bedtime and the ambery rose stayed on my skin til the next morning, so the longevity is quite good. 9/10.

Beyonce Ce Noir does not smell like PDM Delina or BR540 or whatever else. It still smells expensive and actually smells like something I just got a travel size of, Thomas de Monaco Eau Coeur which is of course better quality. Natural rose electrified and "spiced" by lots of slightly metallic ambroxan/amber, that lowkey works with the bottle design. Similar to the opening of Kayali Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper too, but less so in similarities. Here it is sweetened with honey and orange specifically, or clementine I guess...I'm not familiar to know the difference, calming the molecular amber in here. I'm late to testing this because it was so hard to find samples for the longest but I'm impressed. Good projection and longevity too. Very modern for a rose dominant scent.

The base of jasmine sambac, myrrh, patchouli and amber are all notes of antiquity, with the soft florals and citrusy honey on top balance to it out for a long lasting fragrance fit for a goddess. Ce Noir is luxurious, alluring, and unique. Comes out strong but settles quickly into a mature, seductive gourmand. Great projection and long lasting on the skin. Blind bought this fragrance as a birthday gift and it did not disappoint! Initially I was nervous because I tend to find honey scents a bit sour and waxy, but Ce Noir has done it justice. It’s warm, somewhat spicy, and full of depth.

I went into this fragrance, thinking I was going to hate it... not necessarily hate it, but just thinking it would be okay and overhyped. I stand very corrected. I think it’s great on its own but also very interested in fragrance cocktails with this very transitional for any young adult who wants to mature their signature scent. It’s bright in floral, but sweet and universal definitely more feminine, but could be translated into something more unisex with something more earthy. Dare I say this could be for day or night, all year round. 10/10 honestly

I will start my saying I have not smelt this yet, as I could not locate the staff at her show handing out samples. That being said, people who are saying they smelled the perfume at her concerts are NOT lying. If you look on TikTok and other social media, you will see that at her show staff were handing out samples of her perfume for people to smell and react to. I don’t know why it’s so hard to believe that some people might like a perfume, even if it’s a celebrity perfume. If you do a little research, you’ll know that not everybody is lying.

the way this perfume continuously evolves throughout the day and lasts forever is something to behold. it's strong on the nose at first, but mellows out over time. the notes of honey and amber are sweet and the floral and citrus elements are fresh and delightful. i've never smelled anything like it and i really enjoy the various amounts of scents i get with it. i've sprayed it on clothes and washed them and they still smell like it. i only wear it on special occasions because it smells fancy and sophisticated and i feel elevated when i wear it

I LOVE IT! This scent grew on me. At first I wasn’t feeling it but as others mentioned, the dry down is magical. Was retesting after some time and kept getting wafts of something beautiful throughout my day. Realized it was Ce Noir & I’ve been hooked ever since. The honey in the opening can be a bit overpowering but wait a bit. The fragrance develops beautifully. I think this is perfect for the 35-45 age range everyday signature scent wear.

Kind of new to frags and of course I love Bey so I was always going to love this. I couldn’t stomach $160 a bottle so I got a 10mL decant. I like it. Smell the myrrh and amber for sure. Kind of sweet but not too. Very sexy. Definitely can be worn during the day but for sure at night. Very mature but not too much. All in all I love it but don’t know if I’ll get a full bottle but will definitely use the atomizer.

Currently pre-ordering this fragrance through someone from the US since it is only available to buy in the US and Canada. Jasmine, Rose and Amber are among my favorite notes, so I can't wait to get it in my hands since I'm also in the Hive. Can't believe how so many trolls that took their time to vote down this when it's not even released yet. PS: can the admin change the photo to the ce noir bottle instead?

A sensual, bright and heady combination of arabian jasmine and honey. The rose makes a strong appearance at the start, but the jasmine is otherwordly and intoxicating. The omumbiri in the base provides a carbonated, coca-cola esque quality that is heavenly. Sillage is impressive. Beautiful, complex fragrance!! Beyoncé the Queen you are always surprises me, I am so proud of your body of work with this absolutely gorgeous fragrance. Words can’t explain how rich, elegant and sexy this fragrance smells, I can finally say I have found my signature scent. You outdid yourself with this one. Smooches 👑🌸.

Having actually smelled it I would recommend to give it a try. It has a real signature, it is not a dupe nor a twist. It is really interesting. Not sure what to think of the bottle, i did not have it in hand but the scent is really good ! Try to smell it without prejudice ;)

ik people are brigading this right now but i smelled a sample of it at her metlife show in july and it's genuinely popped in and out of my mind ever since........i have a really hard time finding fragrances i truly Love and i think i finally found the one

This perfume smells so good and I've never smelled this scent from anywhere. It smells like real honey with (to my nose) spices without being sickening. I recommend to whom are looking for a sweet perfume that is not candy-sweet, lactonic, floral type.

Got to smell this scent at the Renaissance Tour. Smelled amazing. She definitely didn't skimp on this product. I mean we shouldn't be surprised; she's always done well with her perfumes. Already preordered 4 for me and my 3 sisters for Christmas.

they gave us a sample at her tour. i still have the sample paper and it’s still has the smell. the smell is unisex but a lil bit towards the feminine side. my only complain is the ml/price. fragrances it’s size are usually around $90.

The scents blended together great !! It was long lasting, the strip that was handed out in tour actually lasted maybe 5/6 days. It’s very strong to me and that’ll be my Christmas gift ti my family this year . Well done Queen Bey👑

I was given a sample at the renaissance tour. It smells amazing. I could still smell it my purse days after the concert. It’s also quite affordable compared to what I use now. I will definitely be purchasing it when it’s out.

I’ve worn Cé Noir everyday since I got it in the mail. It smells like a warm, Honey 🍯 “Delina” by Parfums de Marley. It’s a grower. I definitely will buy another bottle once this one runs out. “BEYONCÉ... OKAY, GIRL!!!”

Preordered two for my wife’s birthday. She’s been raving about it since the Renaissance concert. The two sample strips she came home with have all but faded out now, but it definitely lingered around for sometime.

Best scent I’ve had so far, I love this perfume and how long lasting it is, it is memorable and leaves a great impression on those who surround me, I feel very luxurious, highly recommended!

I was so nervous about getting this because so many reviews led me to believe it would be a BEAST and overwhelming to wear, I was also nervous because I had initially heard comparisons to Tom Ford’s Velvet Orchid, which I absolutely despise. These could not be more untrue, however. I will agree that it’s a floral rose bomb and that the longevity is great. In the same breath, it’s a very universal and pleasing scent. While you can tell it’s niche quality, it’s not polarizing like a lot of niche fragrances can be. I was nervous about the combination of fruits and florals with honey, because they tend to smell very dish soap-y on me. Thankfully, that did not happen. The most basic way I can describe it is warm and lightly sweet. The longevity is great. I put some on at noon today, and I can still smell it without having to sniff for it (however I am typing this on the toilet, so my arms are a bit closer to my face lol.) It doesn’t project well on me. Id even go so far to say that, ON ME, this is definitely a skin scent, It’s also definitely something I can reach for everyday (I won’t be bc I know how mother operates, once something is out of stock that lady is NOT bringing it back.) I’ll be honest, and maybe it’s bc of its performance on me specifically, but this isn’t what I imagined the renaissance era to smell like. I expected something thick, mature, still universally pleasing somehow, and DECADENT. While I do still really like it, and the lifelong fan in me is just happy to have it, I did have different expectations. But that is not Beyoncé’s fault at all. It’s a beautiful perfume, I just thought it’d be different. I am still happy nonetheless with what I received!

So while I like some Beyoncé songs I’m not an avid follower. I didn’t buy a full bottle with the limited release. I got a decant because the notes intrigued me. So non biased review here I like it. It reminds me of Montale the Intense rose one. But the honey and clementine give it some sweetness without going gourmand. It doesn’t have the sharpness of roses intense. Myrrh is definitely making a resurgence in the fragrance world and I’m here for it! I like the slightly earthy spice it gives. If your nose is sensitive it might make it tingle a bit. The people around me really enjoyed it. Said it smelled like “honey with personality” So I do really like it! I’m not a fan of limited releases, not being able to smell the scent before purchase, or price gouging on resale sites. I doubt I would buy a full bottle unless it was more accessible but I’m glad I got to try it.

I purchased it during pre-order, got it in late November, and wanted sit with the scent. I'm not going to lie, I purchased it because it's Beyonce, and I didn't get tickets for the tour. With that being said, I wished I thought about the notes more before purchasing. The scent opens with a strong smell of clementine, and to my nose, the floral mid notes carry the show for the rest of the wear. Wearing it for 6+ hours, the scent stays with florals and a light hint of amber. To me, it's a rose floral bomb, which isn't my style. I would recommend it to people who enjoy scents like Chloe by Chloe, Delina, and Miss. Dior (these scents usually last long on me but turn to something off-putting on my skin). I don't see myself grabbing for this. (if you're on the same boat and want something rosy with a gourmand/oud note, I'd rec Out Mood by Lattafa).

Received my bee hive pre order today in the mail. It's good but feels like an Alien remix to me, much like Glamour by M. Micallef but more powdery on the dry down. Now, let me be clear, I love Alien and all the similar frags like Glamour and Sagira. BUT.... I have all 3 of those in my collection and this is not something I'd have bought if not forced to blind buy. Where is the honey???? Let me give it a few wears and I'll come back to update y'all. Update Jan 2024: I actually prefer this over Alien, Glamour and Sagira. The sweet powdery vibe of this is so good. I swear time and air is the key to opening up a fragrances full potential. I really like this!

I like this one way more than the cé lumiere, this one has a lighter sweet fragrance that isn’t over powering. The smell could be for a man or woman, I really like this perfume.

Shes a sweet floral that smells EXPENSIVE. My roommates adored this one. A warm honeyed rose with a splash of clementine, but very unique. An absolute powerhouse of a scent.

Just got mine from the preorder placed in September. I was in Club Renny (LA night 1) and there were people at the Renaissance concert on the floor level (my friend that sat up higher said that she didn't see anyone) walking around with samples. So I did get to smell it prior to buying it. Honestly, I had one two many before the show so all of it was a blur but, I do remember smelling some sort of fruity scent which I couldn't make it out at the time (but I thought it smelled like peaches) and honey and I was in love. I think I have really good "smell memory." Also consider that I'd already sprayed Mugler's Alien (get it alien superstar?) on me prior to coming to the show. I have a large collection so I was excited to have finally found a frag with a honey note. I've come across many but none stood out to me. On the first spray, I'm not picking up on the honey or fruit as much as I did at the show. The Jasmine note is the Alien Superstar of this frag for sure. It caught me by surprise because I'm not a white floral girly, at all. I don't mind the jasmine. After some time, I smelled my wrist again and I was able to pick up on the rose ever so faintly-it's a very jammy sweet rose, which I love. I also start to pick up on the honey and a liiitle bit of the clementine. I am also NOT a citrus girly at all but it's a really cute photorealistic sweet candied but non citrusy clementine note. It actually smells more like peach than tangerine, tbh. I'm actually okay with the note, which is surprising for me. I like it! I think it's a well blended fragrance, so it's really hard to pick up on the notes separately. Which is a good thing! I've been collecting for awhile and I primarily buy niche or Middle Eastern scents these days. The designer frags lately are uninspiring. The other thing is CN is not a winter frag. It's very bright, light, airy, and feminine which I'm not really in the mood for right now. I like warm, bold, feminine, cozy, vanilla heavy, sensual scents. I don't wear my deeper darker vanilla frags in the spring or summer so I'm excited to finally wear those! All in all it's not bad but honestly, I have a lot of frags in my collection that I will reach for over this for sure. If I could remember the scent at the concert correctly, I most likely would not have bought it. :( I will wear it but she's just not really my type--in spite of that, I like it. PS: this smells like something Tiziana Terenzi would make. Update: After about 4 hours the resin and honey are really shining through. Smells sexy compared to its opening. Really added some depth. Update: Hour 7 and it smells EXACTLY like what smelled at the show, which is what I wanted. I am really looooving the dry down. It's good!! The sweetness is really starting to shine. It's sweet not in a pastry way, more like a hard candy. It smells like peaches and honey to me. Very nice! Below someone said it smells like a drink and I can see that! I'll def wear it to run errands, brunch, a lunch date with bae, and maybe a wedding. I will be wearing this a lot more than I thought I would at first sniff. Tldr; caught my by surprise because it’s not typically what I go far but, I love it. 9 out of 10. Omg and Beyonce, missgoodpuss if you see this, hey gworl, we are the visuals and that's cute, but we wanna see the other visuals! :)

Uhhh... this smells identical to Roses Vanilla AND Intense Cafe on my skin, it's uncanny. I don't understand why the fragrances I identify lately as dupes for something else have nothing on the votes list, is my nose broken? The only thing that I can discern is that it's a touch sweeter from the honey, but it's a sweet rose vanilla with that chemical overload that is prevalent in most Montales and many Manceras. You can actually get a bottle of those for cheaper than Beyonce put hers at. Did she even smell this at all? Who was the lazy tool at the marketing team that just purchased the most generic middle eastern gourmand rose perfume and called it a day? They must've done 0 tweaking to this. It screams phoned in cash grab, I could at least respect Rihanna for putting something original out there, even if that original scent made me want to peel my own skin off. This one doesn't smell bad, but it's not great and laughably generic. The bottle wasn't cute enough to justify the price markup for a celebrity fragrance. Don't really care how famous you are, charging niche/artisan prices for generic perfume I could pick up in a mall kiosk for a few bucks is just pathetic. At least I can check this one off the list, add Beyonce to the list of celebrities who clearly don't smell their own fragrances before they're launched or at any point in the process and it shows and call it a day. Time to go scrub my hands. Edit: Since I always go back to read reviews after I've written my own, it's so fishy how the first few dozen reviews only have one review and one fragnrace listed in their profile: this one. Again, this just screams lazy marketing. You could put 200 more on here and it's not gonna brainwash anyone into purchasing the fragrance, especially at retail price. This is not amazon or sephora.com, take a look around here. Most people who visit this site have interest in more than one fragrance, and they probably actually wanna smell pleasant. If this really was the first perfume you'd ever came in contact with, I suppose I could excuse the naitivity. But not even a Bath & Body Works spray listed? C'mon now. I guess if you choose to spend your money on this, I shouldn't judge. But If I smell this on you in public and you gush about how it's Beyonce, and you didn't get sent this for free in PR, I'm probably gonna.

Wanted to love this but it's entirely too sweet and, for me, was headache-inducing. The opening is pleasant enough -- you definitely get the honey and clementine very strong. But the dry down for me was practically unbearable. It gave me a headache and that made me sad because I really wanted to love it. I'm still on the fence about whether to declutter this or circle back in spring or summer and see if my nose (and head) like it any better. Not a safe blind buy.
