Deep Lotus

Got a 30ml bottle in the Harrods Scent Seeker Gift Set and boy am I glad this was included. I had never heard of Bibbi as a house, and I bought the set mainly for the FDB Rude Oud Elixir. Well, after the first wearing of this, I actually put it ahead of the FDB fragrance, it's that good. A beautiful bright woody fragrance, which I'm finding hard to describe just yet. It's unlike anything else I own, it's not an overly creamy wood, nor a deep one, it's more a slightly fruity, zingy, aromatic woody scent. It really is beautiful, and caught me off guard. Longevity seems really good too - 6 hours in and still quite noticeable. I look forward to more wears and to exploring this house further....

Received in the Harrods scent seaker tote and I am so glad that I’ve now discovered this brand. I have heard of BIBBI but they just wasn’t on my radar before now. Deep lotus is stunning, in fact I’d says it’s intoxicating. The blackberry is fresh and the woody dry down is so comforting. This fragrance to me is like a blackberry version of oud maracuja. The projection and longevity is impressive and has easily lasted several hours. This perfume is so moreish that I cannot stop smelling my wrist. In fact I’m so impressed with it that I have just purchased another bottle from a reseller on eBay as this is something I just don’t want to run out of in a hurry.

I met Bibbi at a pop-up in Amsterdam at Skins. I did not have any experience with the house and she patiently told me her story and described the fragrances. She gifted me this as a large sample and I truly love it. Warm, a mild smokiness and a beautiful floral. I learned to spray lightly! This fragrance makes a strong beautiful statement. I will be wearing this for an evening out and will need to remember that a little goes a long way - which means you get a great value as well as an amazing fragrance. The Bibbi fragrances changed the way I think about fragrance design. Truly unique scents.

I have received it in the Harrods fragrance set. I am thrilled with this discovery, the scent is genuinely stunning and full bottle worthy! 😍 In the heart of the fragrance there is juicy blackberry, the scent is surrounded by dark notes and vanilla. The best way to describe it, is rich blackberry wine 🍷🖤 It feels unique and pleasant, not challenging but still niche. If you’re thinking of getting it I highly recommend it. This has been one of my favourite discoveries of the year ✨

This to me smells like if you were a grizzly bear traversing the cold forests of old England, damp cold foggy misty woodlands. You stumble across a blackcurrant bush and eat till your hearts desire and then lay down near a cave riddled with bushes old trees and oud chips. Genuinely a fragrance that has surprised me and it is hard to find a fragrance I like. I will for sure be getting the 100 ml in the future. Smells like nothing I’ve ever smelt before

I want to echo @FragranceZante’s sentiments. Not only did I have zero expectations of this fragrance, I basically overlooked it. I didn’t even consider that I’d like it. But boy is this one surprising in the best way possible. As a quick overview, I’ll just say this is it’s a fruity (blackberry) woody fragrance with a vanilla undertone. Easy to wear, but difficult to categorise. I went on their site, and they describe Deep Lotus as "the Bibbi version of an oud", and I totally see it. It's a Maison Crivelli style fruity oud (Oud Maracuja, Cuir InfraRouge etc.) but it turns the oud-y, leathery nuance down from 10 to about a 3. I don't like those fruity ouds. At all. The leather, oud, agarwood etc. are just too intrusive and loud for me. So, instead of an oud or leather note, this has an opening kick of pepper and saffron that gives you the vibe of a Crivelli fruity oud, but that saffron and pepper quickly disappears. What you're left with after that 10 minute opening is a slightly sweet and tart blackberry resting on a vanilla and cedarwood base. It takes the fruity oud style fragrance, and instead of loud, attention demanding and room filling, it makes it subtler, more versatile and closer to mass appealing. It’s not syrupy or gourmand, but it’s not light and airy either. Right down the middle. Slightly closer to fresh than warm. It’s more of a transitional season fragrance, so it would probably be best for spring and fall days, because it’s just a little too rich for high heat. The scent bubble around you, and the sillage you get from this when the wind blows is where this shines. As a guy, I would consider this unisex. For men who are into marine and aquatic and think that’s what spring/summer smells like, this will lean a little feminine. But to the guys who like their tropical fragrances in the warmer months, this is right down the middle unisex, no problem. I’m still trying to figure it out, but I really have a feeling that with time this one is going to stick with me. Not bad for a random fragrance in a gift set! A reminder of why this hobby is so fun. Just when you think you know it all and have smelled it all, something comes along and surprises you.

Really pretty, and doesn't immediately remind me of any other perfumes (I'm quick to pin point "this smells like" straight out of the gate - and this didn't happen with Deep Lotus). Aquatic floral/woody/vanilla. Lovely.

I absolutely love this fragrance. It is an excellent choice for anyone who appreciates leather notes, as they are beautifully prominent throughout. It also reminds me of Bijou Zaffran by OJ, particularly due to its subtle cherry nuance. The longevity is impressive, lasting for an extended period on the skin. I would recommend allowing it some time to settle after application, as it can be quite intense initially. Overall, I would highly recommend this fragrance.
